Financial Data Assessment Using Table-Graph-Mixed Reality Visualization

  • Usability and knowledge drawn from utilizing various ways of representing accounting data were examined. Classroom experiments were conducted to compare students' assessment of financial data using table of numbers, 2-dimensional column graphs (2D), 3-dimensional column graphs (3D), and mixed reality visualization of true 3-dimensional graphs (MR). The results showed that in assessing the financial status and performance of a firm, Table of numbers and MR took longer than 2D and 3D graphs. The time spent on true 3D graphs using MR technology was about the same as Table of numbers. When compared the assessment scores of the firm's financial status and performance between participants and experts, the difference was the least when participants used 2D graphs. However, MR was seen as being a new way to provide data of greater complexity and was very useful for financial information.

  • 자료 분석가가 대용량 데이터를 분석할 때 이해하기 쉽고 효과적으로 전달하기 위하여 다양한 데이터 시각화 방법들을 사용하고 있다. 그 중 3차원 그림은 2차원 화면상에서 입체로 표현하기 위하여 그림을 회전시켜야 한다. 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 3차원 시각화 자료를 입체적으로 살펴보는 방법으로 가상현실을 이용한 두 가지 방식인 Batch method와 Real-time method를 제안하였다. 이 방법들을 통하여 3차원 시각화 자료를 입체적으로 살펴볼 때 3차원 구조를 좀 더 명확하게 확인할 수 있을 것이다.

  • 이 논문에서는 화가의(Painter's) 알고리듬을 사용하여 3차원 자유형상곡면(Three dimensional free form surface)을 가시화하는 방법을 개발하였고, 특히 선체형상은 Open 균일 B-Spline 곡면으로 정의하였다. 컴퓨터그래픽스를 응용하여 와이어프레임, 숨은면제거, 묘영등의 가시화를 위한 프로그램을 완성하였다. 또한 선체곡면의 순정을 검토하기 위해 Gaussian 곡률값을 15등급으로 구분하여 등급별 색(color)처리 하였다.

3차원 해저지형 수치모델에 관한 연구 (A Study on the 3-D Digital Modelling of the Sea Bottom Topography)

  • In this study, 3-dimensional virtual visualization was performed for a rapid and accurate analysis of sea bottom topography. The visualization was done through the extracted data using the developed program and the generated data using the gridding method. The data extraction program was developed with AutoLISP programming language and this program was able to extract the needed sample bathymetry data from the electronic sea chart systematically as well as effectively The gridded bathymetry data were generated by the interpolation or extrapolation method from the spatially-irregular sample data. As the result of realization for the 3-dimensional virtual visualization, it was shown a proper feasibility in the analysis of the sea bottom topography to determine the route of submarine cable burial.

  • Visualization of three dimensional medical images has been studied in many ways. For CT and MRI data, 3D rendering schemes are commercially available and widly used. However visualization of ultrasonic 3D data is not popular yet, even though its potentional in medical diagnosis seems very high. In this paper we try to visualize 3D ultrasonic data. The basic method is adopted from the volume rendering technique. Based on the characteristics of the ultrasonic images, 3D visualization algorithm is developed and applied for the 3D image set of a dog heart.

LES를 이용한 Pseudo-Shock Waves의 가시화 (Numerical Visualization of the Pseudo-Shock Waves using LES)

  • The interaction between a normal shock wave and a boundary layer along a wall surface in internal compressible flows causes a very complicated flow. This interaction region containing shock train and mixing region is called as pseudo-shock waves. Pseudo-shock waves in the divergent part of a rectangular nozzle have been investigated by using large-eddy simulation (LES). LES studies have been done for the complex flow phenomena of three-dimensional pseudo-shock waves. The LES results have been validated against experimental wall-pressure measurements. The LES results are in good agreement with experimental results. Pseudo-shock length and corner separation have been studied in three-dimensional LES model. Comparison of centerline pressure measurement and 3D visualization measurement has been discussed for the corner separation position. It has been concluded that the pseudo-shock length should be measured by using 3D visualization measurement.

  • 비쥬얼라이제이션 스프레드쉬트(visualization spreadsheet)는 다차원 데이터집합의 다양한 비쥬얼라이제이션(visualization)환경 지원에 매우 효과적이다. 본 논문에서는 대용량 멀티미디어 데이터집합을 효율적으로 유지관리하고 동적 재구성할 수 있는 멀티미디어 스프레드쉬트 모델을 설계하였다. 제안한 모델은 실시간 재구성 가능한 셀단위 이차원 스프레드쉬트의 토대에 셀마다 프레임스택을 구비하였다. 이상의 구성으로 스프레드쉬트의 각 셀은 3차원 데이터구조로 구성된 것과 동일한 효과를 갖는다. 제안한 모델은 1) 대용량 데이터집합의 효율적인 구성 및 관리, 2) 사용자요구에 부응하는 셀구조의 실시간 재구성, 3) 사용자와 시스템 간 인터렉티브 유저인터페이스의 장점을 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 데이터집합의 그래픽랜더링을 통하여 제안한 모델이 우수한 인터렉티브 멀티미디어용 비쥬얼 툴임을 증명하였다.

원형 모세관과 사각형 단면의 미세채널에서 3차원 수력학적 집속유동 분석 (Analysis of 3-Dimensional Hydrodynamic Focusing in Circular Capillary Tube and Rectangular Microchannel)

  • Hydrodynamic focusing technique to generate focused flow has been used for flow cytometry in microfluidic devices. However, devices with circular capillary tubes made of glass are not suitable for flow visualization or optical signal detection because the rays of light are distorted at the curved interface. We devised a new acrylic chamber assembled with a pulled micropipette and a rectangular microchannel made of glass. This new channel geometry enabled us to visualize the three-dimensional (3D) flow characteristics with confocal imaging technique. We analyzed the 3D hydrodynamic focusing in a circular capillary tube and a rectangular microchannel over a practical range of flow rates, viscosities and pressure drops.

  • 고화질의 그래픽 컴퓨터와 영상장치를 이용한 지진해일의 전파 및 이에 부수되는 쳐오름 과정의 3차원 영상화에 관하여 기술하였다. 실제로, 1960년 칠레지진에 의해 발생한 지진해일이 태평양에서 진행하는 과정 및 하와이 힐로만에서의 범람하는 과정에 관한 수치해석의 결과를 3차원으로 영상화하였다.
