Dynamic Characteristics of Electro-hydraulic Proportional Valve for an Independent Metering Valve of Excavator (굴삭기 IMV용 비례전자밸브의 동특성)

  • Many research studies have been carried out related to saving energy and environmental pollution in the field of construction machinery. The best solution for reducing the related environmental pollution is to reduce fuel consumption by upgrading the energy efficiency of machinery used in this field. An efficiency upgrade in the field of construction machinery would mean minimizing the pressure loss in hydraulic pipe lines or achieving optimal operating conditions while responding to a load. One way to achieve this is to make an equivalent circuit, like an electrohydrostatic actuator, or to improve the spool type valve using the 4/3 way method. This study deals with an electrohydraulic proportional flow control valve. SimulationX software is used as a simulation tool for analyzing the dynamic characteristics. The analysis results, including the performance and characteristics of design parameters, are discussed and the validity of the theoretical analysis is also evaluated.

Performance Test of Pressure and Flow Rate in a Hot-Water Heating System with 3-Way Valves for Flow Bypass (바이패스용 3-Way 밸브를 장착한 온수 난방시스템의 압력 및 유량 특성 평가)

  • A 3-way valve has been applied to a distributor in a hot-water heating system and the performance of the system was evaluated in view of the variations of pressure drop and flow rate. The 3-way valve has been designed to bypass overplus hot-water when a control valve is closed. Note that the flow goes through heating pipeline in normal operation. In the present study, the measured pressure drops in each part of the flow paths show that the contribution to the total pressure drop is in the order of the supply header with control valves, piping system of each room and return header of the distributor, even though the amount of it is different according to the flow paths. As a result of performance test by sequential closing of the control valves, the variations of pressure drop and flow rate in the distributor with 3-way valves is much lower than those with previous 2-way valves, which prevent noises induced by pressure fluctuations.

  • Mobile hydraulics require higher energy efficiency, and a simpler as well as robust design, than general industrial hydraulics. The 6/3-way directional control valve is widely used as a mobile hydraulic control valve. However, since the 6/3-way directional control valve is a spool type valve, it is difficult to maintain the load. A counterbalance valve is typically used, to maintain the load, and lift down. However, in an industrial field using a mobile hydraulics device, a pilot controlled check valve may be used to implement holding and lifting operation of the self-weight load, and a relief valve may be used simply to exert back pressure. But no comparative analysis of advantages and disadvantages of each method was revealed. In this study, various methods of holding and unloading load with self-weight in mobile hydraulics are investigated, and compared through simulation using AMESim software. This is experimentally verified by using Festo's mobile hydraulic test rig TP800.

A Characteristic Analysis of High Pressure and High Temperature 3-way Ball Valve (고온.고압용 3-way 볼밸브의 특성해석)

  • 3-way ball valves have been mostly used for high temperature/high pressure valves using in petrochemical carriers and oil tankers, which requires high quality products with confidentiality and durability. As a larger disaster may be generated by leakage of oil or gas from valves, thus the present research applied a numerical analysis method with thermal-structural coupled field analysis and the performance test. The Max stress by parts was confirmed through thermal-structural coupled field analysis and develop the 3-way ball valve design, which is safe on operating condition. And its performance was verified by carrying out pressure test, leakage test and durability test for the manufactured 3-way ball valves with satisfying it's regulations.

  • Hot water is used by having a wash, dishes, taking tub and drinking water in residential buildings, and the use objective is to raise comfort of human body sense, washing and sterilization effect and so on. Cold & hot water supply system is understanded simpler than HVAC systems relatively, so it is true that pace of performance improvement is slower than other systems for plan and technical development. In this study, the performance evaluations are conducted under the condition of composition ratio by 1:1 for cold & hot water supply manifold system using functionally complex valves such as constant flow regulating valve and 3-way mixing valve in the area of $105.6m^2$ apartment which consist of the largest part of the whole apartment. Also, flow rate related to simultaneous use of faucets and change of hot water temperature are compared with the existing method.

개량형 중수로 비상노심냉각계통의 단순화 및 피동화 방안

  • 원자력 발전소 안전성 향상을 위한 노력으로 현재 안전계통의 단순화및 피동화에 대한 연구가 활발히 지속적으로 수행되고 있다. 개량형 중수로에서는 특수 안전계통의 하나인 비상노심냉각계통의 피동화 및 단순화 방안을 다각적으로 검토한 결과, 비상노심냉각계통의 압력이 열수송계통(Heat Transport System) 압력보다 일정 크기 이상일 때만 파열되는 일방향파열판(One-way Rupture Disc)을 개발하여, 계통에 도입함으로써 전기적인 신호와 힘에 의해 작동되는 밸브 갯수를 크게 줄일 수 있게 되었고 이로 인해 계통의 피동성이 향상되었으며, 계통구성 측면이나 운전 측면에서도 단순화를 이루었다. 또한 물보다 비중이 작고 가스주입 차단 기능이 뛰어난 볼(Floating Ball)을 고압용 비상노심냉각 물탱크 내부에 설치하여 종래의 차단밸브 기능을 수행하게 함으로써 전동식 차단밸브를 제거할 수 있게 되었다.

Pressure Control Characteristics of a 2-Way Solenoid Valve Driven by PWM Signal (2방향 전자밸브의 PWM 신호에 의한 압력제어 특성)

  • By way of driving a 2-way on/off solenoid hydraulic valve with a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal, control of the pressure in a certain volume is frequently used in various applications. However, the pressure built-up according to the duty ratio and carrier frequency of the PWM signal is not so well understood. In order to clarify the characteristics of 2-way valve hydraulic pressure control systems, in this paper two formula fur the mean and ripple of the load pressure were derived through theoretical analysis. And the accuracy of the derived formula were verified by comparison with the experimental test result. Generally 2-way valve systems are constructed as a bleed-off circuit, while 3-way valves are used as a control element in a meter-in circuit pressure control system. In a bleed-off circuit, the system supply pressure from a hydraulic power pack does not remain constant, but changes according to their external load. In turn, the relief valve in the hydraulic power pack reacts accordingly showing complicated dynamic behavior, which makes an analytical study difficult. In order to resolve the problem, simple but accurate empirical dynamic models fer a bleed-off system were used in the course of formula derivation. As the result, selection criteria for two major control parameters of the driving signal is established and the basic strategy to suppress the unnecessary pressure fluctuation can be provided for a hydraulic pressure control system using a 2-way on/off solenoid valve.

Grasping Impact-Improvement of Robot Hands using Proximate Sensor (근접 센서를 이용한 로봇 손의 파지 충격 개선)

  • A control method for a robot hand grasping a object in a partially unknown environment will be proposed, where a proximate sensor detecting the distance between the fingertip and object was used. Particularly, the finger joints were driven servo-pneumatically in this study. Based on the proximate sensor signal the finger motion controller could plan the grasping process divided in three phases ; fast aproach, slow transitional contact and contact force control. That is, the fingertip approached to the object with full speed, until the output signal of the proximate sensor began to change. Within the perating range of the proximate sensor, the finger joint was moved by a state-variable feedback position controller in order to obtain a smooth contact with the object. The contact force of fingertip was then controlled using the blocked-line pressure sensitivity of the flow control servovalve for finger joint control. In this way, the grasping impact could be reduced without reducing the object approaching speed. The performance of the proposed grasping method was experimentally compared with that of a open loop-controlled one.

A Study on the Flow Analysis of Triple Eccentric Butterfly Valve with Two-way Pressure (양방향 압력에 작동 가능한 3중 편심 버터플라이 밸브의 유동해석에 관한 연구)

  • The triple eccentric butterfly valve has metal sheet and this study about butterfly valve ceiling is an innovative approach. But it is affected by the static pressure as well as cross-current. The damage at the valve on the pipe resulted from the reflux is due to valve leakage. This study is investigated on the triple eccentric disk and it is applied with angle and the static pressure in all cases to develop cross-current triple eccentric butterfly valves. The disc with the diameter of 300A is valve against flow velocity. The entrance pressure by flow characteristics is performed with numerical analysis. As the result, valve torque production is reduced more than the conventional triple eccentric valve and entrance pressure is decreased on the increase of valve open angle. And flow coefficient can be known to be increased.
