Design and Implementation of an X3D to Java 3D translator (X3D-Java 3D 번역기의 설계 및 구현)

  • 인터넷의 빠른 발전과 하드웨어 속도의 향상에 의해 가상현실이 점차 일반 사용자에게도 가깝게 다가서고 있다. 인터넷 가상현실 언어의 표준인 VRML이 XML의 개발과 발전에 의해 차기 버전을 XML의 장점인 용이한 확장성을 수용하는 X3D라 명명하고 표준화를 진행 중이다. 강력한 Java 3D API와 플랫폼 독립적인 바이트코드의 장점을 살려 표준화 단계인 X3D를 별도의 브라우저 없이도 Java 애플릿을 이용하여 재생할 수 있도록 하고자 하며 또한 앞으로 개발될 X3D 저작도구의 결과물을 Java 3D로 변환하여 Java 3D로 변환하여 Java 3D에 의한 3차원 영상 제작을 손쉽게 구현할 수 있도록 한다. 이를 위한 방법으로 X3D를 Java 3D로 변환하는 번역기가 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 X3D-Java 3D 번역기의 구조를 설계하고 구현 방법을 제시하고자 한다. XML 파서를 이용하여 X3D를 파싱하고 그의 출력인 AST를 순회하면서 Java 3D 파일을 생성한다. X3D DTD와 Java 3D 클래스의 구조 정보를 독립된 자료로 처리하여 계속 변하게 될 두 언어의 변화에 유동적으로 대처하면서 구현 방법의 큰 변화없이 이용할 수 있게 설계하고자 한다.

Last Design for Men's Shoes using 3D Foot Scanner and 3D Printer (3D 발 스캐너와 3D 프린터를 이용한 남성화 라스트 설계)

  • The shoe last which is the framework for the shoemaking is intensively combined with the 3D data and technologies. International shoe companies have already commercialized 3D printing technology in producing the shoe, but domestic shoe companies are still in their early stages. This study used the 3D scanning, 3D modeling and 3D printing of the high-technology to make the shoe last. This 3D producing processes should be helpful in building competitiveness in domestic shoe industry. The 3D foot scanning data of men in 30s(n=200) were collected in SizeKorea(2010). The basic statistics, factor and cluster analysis were performed. They were categorized in 3 groups by 3D foot measurement data, and the standard models were selected in each group. The cross sections in XY, YZ and XZ planes sliced from 3D scan data of the standard model were used in the sketches of the 3D shoe last modeling. The 3D shoe last was modeled by Solidworks CAD and printed by MakerBot Replicator2; a desktop 3D printer. This research showed the potential for utilization of 3D printing technology in the domestic shoe industry. The 3D producing process; 3D scanning, 3D modeling and 3D printing is expected to utilized widely in the fashion industry within the nearest future.

3D Active Appearance Model for Face Recognition (얼굴인식을 위한 3D Active Appearance Model)

  • Active Appearance Models은 객체의 모델링에 널리 사용되며, 특히 얼굴 모델은 얼굴 추적, 포즈 인식, 표정 인식, 그리고 얼굴 인식에 널리 사용되고 있다. 최초의 AAM은 Shape과 Appearance가 하나의 계수에 의해서 만들어 지는 Combined AAM이였고, 이후 Shape과 Appearance의 계수가 분리된 Independent AAM과 3D를 표현할 수 있는 Combined 2D+3D AAM이 개발 되었다. 비록 Combined 2D+3D AAM이 3D를 표현 할 수 있을지라도 이들은 공통적으로 2D 영상을 사용하여 모델을 생산한다. 본 논문에서 우리는 stereo-camera based 3D face capturing device를 통해 획득한 3D 데이터를 기반으로 하는 3D AAM을 제안한다. 우리의 3D AAM은 3D정보를 이용해 모델을 생산하므로 기존의 AAM보다 정확한 3D표현이 가능하고 Alignment Algorithm으로 Inverse Compositional Image Alignment(ICIA)를 사용하여 빠르게 Model Instance를 생산할 수 있다. 우리는 3D AAM을 평가하기 위해 stereo-camera based 3D face capturing device로 촬영해 수집한 한국인 얼굴 데이터베이스[9]로 얼굴인식을 수행하였다.

The Application of Internet 3D Technologies using Java3D and GL4Java (Java3D 및 GL4Java로 구현한 인터넷 3D기술 응용)

  • Various virtual reality methods are examined on the internet. In this paper, 3D implementations on the internet are discussed using Java3D and GL4Java which are based on the Java. 3D shoppingmall, real time 3D renderings, and various objects are implemented using Java3D and GL4Java, respectively. Especially with Java3D, the file formats of VRML97, OBJ, and 3DS are implemented using Java3D loader, which shows that object implementation in Java3D is better than other methods. Also, the comparisons between Java3D and GL4Java are discussed.

Differential Effects of 2D and 3D motion pictures on physical fatigue, recognition and arousal -Focused on viewing order and viewer's gender difference- (2D와 3D 영상 시청이 신체피로도, 재인기억 및 각성수준에 미치는 차별적 효과 -시청순서와 성차를 중심으로-)

  • This study aimed to investigate the effects of dimensions of movie clip (2D vs. 3D), viewing orders (2D ${\to}$ 3D vs. 3D ${\to}$ 2D), and gender difference on participants' subjective fatigue, recognition for the elements in the clips, and arousal level. The results can be summarized as followings. First, subjective fatigue level was higher in the 3D condition than 2D condition, but this tendency was more clear in the 2D ${\to}$ 3D condition than in the 3D ${\to}$ 2D condition. Second, correct recognition rates were significantly higher for 3D than 2D only in the 3D ${\to}$ 2D condition. In particular, male participants showed higher correct recognition rates than female participants in the 3D clip condition, whereas female participants showed higher correct recognition rates than male participants in the 2D clip condition. Third, although 3D clips tended to induce higher level of arousal, this tendency was showed only in the 2D ${\to}$ 3D condition, which implied previous exposure to 2D clip increased the arousal level in following 3D clip than vice versa.

Eye-Catcher : Real-time 2D/3D Mixed Contents Display System

  • In this paper, we propose a practical method for displaying 2D/True3D mixed contents in real-time. Many companies released their 3D display recently, but the costs of producing True3D contents are still very expensive. Since there are already a lot of 2D contents in the world and it is more effective to mix True3D objects into the 2D contents than making True3D contents directly, people became interested in mixing 2D/True3D contents. Moreover, real-time 2D/True3D mixing is helpful for 3D displays because the scenario of the contents can be easily changed on playback-time by adjusting the 3D effects and the motion of the True3D object interactively. In our system, True3D objects are rendered into multiple view-point images, which are composed with 2D contents by using depth information, and then they are multiplexed with pre-generated view masks. All the processes are performed on a graphics processor. We were still able to play a 2D/True3D mixed contents with Full HD resolution in real-time using a normal graphics processor.

  • In recent years, the developments in 3D technologies have initiated the commercialization of 3D services on mobile devices. For this purpose, stereoscopic 3D technology is used, which enables 3D TV on mobile devices including smartphone with glasses-free 3D viewing. As a result, the issues related with stereo imaging have been spotlighted greatly. Especially, three MPEG coding standards are provided for mobile 3D services, namely H.264/AVC with and without SEI message and H.264/MVC. In this respect, this paper presents an overview of developments in stereoscopic technologies for mobile devices to gain some perspective on the changes and progress. in this paper, we verified the availability of android based stereoscipic 3D technology related with mobile 3D TV and Smartphone with special emphasis on 3D video format and 3D features by various technollogy characteristics analysis.

  • In this paper we implemented 3D contents based work process simulation for 3D view contents. For this the method of 3D view technique is explained. The automobiles and PC assembly processes according to the virtual scenario showed the technique which assists workers through 3D view. Also for 3D information visualization, max script of contents modeling functions using 3D MAX was developed. The functions are designed to customize coordinate, material edit on modeling, rendering, and 3D object files with max script.

  • TV technology started from black and white TV. Color TV invented and users request more realistic TV technology. The next technology is 3DTV. For 3DTV, 3D display technology, 3D coding technology, digital mux/demux technology in broadcast and 3D video acquisition are needed. Moreover, Almost every contents now exist are 2D contents. It causes necessity to convert from 2D to 3D. This article describes 2D/3D conversion algorithm and H/W platform on FPGA board. Time difference makes 3D effect and convolution filter increased the effect. Distorted image and original image give 3D effect. The algorithm is shown on 3D display. The display device shows 3D effect by parallax barrier method and has FPGA board.

  • 3D stereoscopic cinema emerged as a new dominant media format. In principle, the stereoscopic cinema imitate the vision of the human being has two eyes. The stereoscopic cinema is filmed with 2 connected cameras at the same time and projected these 2 different images. With the stereoscopic glasses, the human being can see the overlapped images as a single 3D stereoscopic image. To make 3D stereoscopic cinema, it is very important to systemize the process of the 3D stereoscopic cinema production and to use the principle of the 3D stereoscopic cinema. This paper investigates the possibilities of the using the 3D stereoscopic principles such as the I.O.D, convergence point, parallax and the 3D comfort zone. Using the principle of the 3D stereoscopic cinema can be the technique of directing the film. Using the example of 3D stereoscopic short film My Birthday, I investigate the main technique of the 3D stereoscopic cinema.
