  • In order to determine whether three-dimensional effects exist in a pintle nozzle of axisymmetric shape, a three-dimensional numerical analysis was performed. The compressibility correction was implemented with the k-${\omega}$ SST turbulence model to predict the complex flow separation transition in acceptable accuracy. Recirculation zones were observed at both the front end and rear faces of the pintle, and the flow through the pintle nozzle conveyed complex shock wave structures. Three-dimensional effects that resulted from the reasonable flow separation location were noted, and a trace of the transient pressure increase was observed, mismatched by a two-dimensional axi-symmetric analysis.

  • In this study, it was experimentally confirmed that the phenomenon of resonance effect of wave drag in two wavy walls. The channel had saw-tooth type of relief surfaces when supersonic gas flows into this channel. Experiment was carried out on the differential apparatus by conducting the comparative test of two nozzles (round sonic nozzle and two-dimensional nozzle with wavy walls). The two-dimensional nozzle was joined alternately with flat walls which had saw-tooth type of symmetrical and asymmetric reliefs. Two-dimensional nozzle was designed for the M=3 and profiled parabolic contour.

  • The supersonic gas ejector, as gas dynamic appliance, has been applied for a long time because of simplicity and reliability. However, for the prediction of ejector performances with given parameters, that is, working gas pressure and the nozzle shape, it is necessary to raise accuracy of modelling for properties of ejector gas flow. The purpose of the represented work is to compare one-dimensional modelling and numerical results with experimental results. The ejector with a conic nozzle has been designed and tested (Mach number at the nozzle exit section was 3.31, the nozzle throat diameter - 6 mm). Working gas - nitrogen, was brought from system of gas bottles. Diameter of the mixture chamber at the nozzle exit section was limited by condensation temperature of nitrogen and equaled 20 mm. The one-dimensional theory predicted the minimal starting pressure equaled 8.18 bar (absolute) and 0.051 bar in the vacuum chamber. Accordingly the minimal starting pressure was 9.055 bar and 0.057 in the vacuum chamber bar have been fixed in experiment.

  • The purpose of this paper is to determine a two dimensional axisymmetric model through a comparative study between a three dimensional and an axisymmetric finite element analysis of the reactor coolant piping nozzle subject to internal pressure. The finite element analysis results show that the stress adopting the axisymmetric model with the radius of equivalent spherical vessel are well agree with that adopting the three dimensional model. The the radii of equivalent spherical vessel are 3.5 times and 7.3 times of the radius of the reactor coolant piping for the safety injection nozzle and for the residual heat removal nozzle, respectively.

  • Grinding temperature and thermal deformation(dimensional error) are studied theoretically and experimentally. The propose of this research is clarified loading phenomena and residual stress In order to guide nozzle's efficiency. The main results to be obtained are as follows ; 1) When grinding condition Is high efficient grinding, FEM program is developed about grinding heat and dimensional error. 2) Thermal deformation depend on temperature distribution is in good agreement with experimental results in case of little grinding energy flux but is comparatively in good agreement with in case of large (3.5$\times$10$^{6}$ J/m). 3) In terms of high efficient grinding at field(table speed 4m/min), grinding fluid (dilution 5/100) obtained a good workpiece quality and decreased a grinding temperature. 4) A surface roughness, dimensional error, residual stress and loading phenomena with guide nozzle are decreased and these results obtained a good workpiece quality.

  • The advantages of the SITVC(secondary injection thrust vector control) technique over mechanical thrust vector systems include a reduction in both the nozzle weight and complexity due to the elimination of the mechanical actuators that are used in conventional vectoring. Computational study is performed to understand the fluidic thrust vectoring control of an axisymmetric nozzle, in which secondary gas injection is made in the divergent section of the nozzle. The nozzle has a design mach number 3. The effect of injection hole number and shape of secondary jet on the mach number distribution of SITVC were investigated. The standard ${\kappa}$ - ${\epsilon}$ turbulence model solved the complex three-dimensional nozzle flows perturbed by the secondary gas jet. The numerical code was validated by experiment. The results showed that the mach number distribution of circular and square nozzle are similar each other. As number of second injection hole increasing, a effect of deflection was decreased.

  • The aim of this study was to develop a multi-nozzle based bioprinting system for fabrication of three-dimensional (3D) biological structure. In this study, a thermoplastic biomaterial that has relatively high mechanical stability, polycaprolactone (PCL) was used to make the 3D structure. A multi-nozzle bioprinting system was designed to dispense thermoplastic biomaterial and hydrogel simultaneously. The system that consists of 3-axes of x-y-z motion control stage and a compartment for injection syringe control mounted on the stage has been developed. Also, it has 1-axis actuator for position change of nozzle. The controllability of the printed line width with PCL was tested as a representative performance index.

  • This paper presents the method for three-dimensional micro structure with photoresist spray coating system. The system consists of a high temperature rotational chuck, ultrasonic spray nozzle module, angle control module and nozzle moving module. Spray coating system is effected by several parameters such as the solid contents, the dispensed volume, the scanning speed of the spray nozzle and the wafer of dimension. The photoresist (AZ 1512) has been coated on the three-dimensional micro structure by spray coating system and the characteristics have been evaluated.

  • A three dimensional numerical analysis has been conducted to analyze the effects of a pipe angle, connecting a combustion chamber and a pintle nozzle, and pintle position on pintle nozzle performance. The compressibility correction of $k-{\omega}$ SST turbulent model was implemented to precisely predict the characteristics of complex flow structures inside a supersonic pintle nozzle. Due to an 3-D asymmetric pintle nozzle configuration, complex helical flow streamlines and large flow separations were observed, which resulting in significant nozzle performance losses. As the angle of connection-tube decreases, the coefficient of performance increases and Since the flow structures are evidently changed to the pintle stroke position, the performance characteristics was analyzed.
