Evaluation of the Cochlear Electrode Behavior in the 3D Human Cochlea Model by FEM Analysis (3차원 달팽이관 모델에서의 인공와우 전극의 거동에 대한 유한요소해석)

  • A finite element analysis is used in this study to model 6 kinds of electrode by a genetic program in order to evaluate the mechanical effect on the 3D human cochlea model and the behavior of electrode. Human cochlea is modeled by the spiral-approximation method and the shape of scala tympani is extracted from the mid section of the human cochlea. Contact pressure at the tip and the insertion force are found to be highest when the wires stack horizontally. Axial rotation of electrode is minimal comparing with the stimulating current spread. The results indicate that the electrode stiffness is important to minimize the trauma.

  • Synthesized 3-D CGH of a general three dimensional object is obtained by using a new 3-D coordinates transformation technique. A CCD camera is used to record several projected images of the 3-D object from different viewing angles. The recorded data are numerically calculated and processed to yield two-dimensional complex functions, which are then encoded fer the final synthesized 3-D CGH.

Fractal Analysis of Urban Morphology Considering Distributed Situation of Buildings (건물분포를 고려한 도시형태의 프랙털(Fractal) 해석)

  • The purpose of this paper is to conduct an experimental measurement and analysis of cities' morphology. Fractal theory that is an effective tool for evaluating self-similarity and complexity of objects was applied. For the comparative analysis of fractailities and computational verification, two totally different cities in Japan were selected. They are Kitakyushu City, which is a big and fully developed city, and Jinguu Machi of which almost all the area is covered with agricultural land use. After converting vector data to raster data within GIS, fractal dimensions of two cases in Kitakyushu City and one case in Jinguu Machi were calculated. The calculation showed that two parts of Kitakyushu City were already fractal. Jinguu Machi, however, was difficult to find fractality. As a conclusion, fractal was proved to be an useful tool to estimate the shape of cities reflecting their internal spatial structure, that is self-similarity and complexity.

  • Game industry has been growing rapidly due to the development of computer and IT technologies. Especially, computer game is known as the core of multimedia and hi-tech entertainment. Recently, computer game has been evolving into 3D RPG and simulation types which give players more realism from the existing 2D RPG ones. In this paper, we design and implement a full 3D on-line RPG game content. The game supports simultaneous connections of multi-users on each game server.

  • 본 논문에서는 3 차원 형태로 체적 데이터를 효율적으로 랜더링 하기 위해서, 체적 데이터의 특징점을 추출하고 이를 이용하여 3차원 형태로 복원하기 위해 3D Points 추출을 위한 PEF 과정과 정적 변환 파이프라인 과정 [6,7] 을 통한 랜더링 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 광선 추적에 비해 저화질의 영상을 나타내지만, 추출된 데이터만 고려하기 때문에 계산량이 줄어들어 그만큼의 랜더링 속도가 빨라짐을 볼 수가 있다. 또한, 기존의 광선 추적 기법에서 표현하는 회전, 절단, 축소/확대의 기능을 OpenGL을 이용하여 3 차원 랜더링 프로그램으로 제작하였다.

  • In this paper, we propose a new descriptor for 3D model retrieval based on shape information. The proposed method consists of two steps including ray casting method and spherical harmonic function, considering geometric properties of model. In the ray casting method, an adaptive sampling is performed for external shape information. By increasing shape information included in the descriptor, we improve the discriminating power of the proposed descriptor. The coefficients of spherical harmonic function are adaptively calculated, considering geometric frequency characteristics. This makes the descriptor more compact and concise without decreasing the retrieval performance. By combining two methods, we achieve more improved retrieval results.

  • Recent technique has shown high interest in 3D stereoscopic image, one out of high immersion appearance techniques. Unlike general 2D image, 3D stereoscopic image is generated by 3D geometric information. Therefore, the lack of 3D geometric information sometimes imposes restrictions or makes editing more tedious. We propose a new unsupervised technique aimed to generate stereoscopic image which is estimated by depth-map information using image-based modeling from a single input image. The proposed system is implemented as the Adobe Photoshop(R) plug-in for considering generality and expandability, and also supports a preview function of interactive 3D stereoscopic image to determine stereoscopic view of high quality.

  • This paper proposes a method to reconstruct the 3-D face using structured light image. First of all, we suppose that each sight vector of a projector and camera are parallel. We project the structured light in the shape of lattice on the background to acquire the reference-structured light image. This image is used to calibrate the projector and camera. Since then, we acquire the face-structured light image which is projected the same structured light on the face. These two structured light images are used to reconstruct the 3-D face through the variation which is measured from the positional difference of feature vectors. In our experiment result, we could reconstruct the 3-D face image as recognize through these simple devices.

  • 솔리드 모델링은 형상 모델링(geometric modeling) 기법 중 3차원 형상을 솔리드의 형태로 표현하기 위한 기법으로 컴퓨터가 디자인에 사용되기 시작하면서 3차원 형상을 컴퓨터에 어떻게 표현할 것인가를 연구하는 분야이다. 이 분야는 다른 CAD분야의 핵심이 되고 있게 때문에 이들과 중복되는 내용이 많으나 다른 분야에 대한 내용이 별도로 서술되기 때문에 본 고에서는 이들과 중복되지 않는 내용을 중심으로 최근의 연구동향에 대하여 알아보기로 한다.

  • This research deals with the effects of anonymity and morality to the patterns of learner participation in the real-time online discussion. Based on these research results, it was suggested that the anonymity mode and morality levels subject should be utilized in order to enhance the participation quality of online discussion
