In this paper, we propose a method for construction of robust 3D statistical shape model in the mandible CT datasets. Our method consists of following four steps. First, we decompose a 3D input shape Into patches. Second, to generate a corresponding shape of a floating shape, all shapes in the training set are parameterized onto a disk similar to the patch topology. Third, we generate the corresponding shape by one-to-one mapping between the reference and the floating shapes. We solve the problem failed to generate the corresponding points near the patch boundary Finally, the corresponding shapes are aligned with the reference shape. Then statistical shape model is generated by principle component analysis. To evaluate the accuracy of our 3D statistical shape model of the mandible, we perform visual inspection and similarity measure using average distance difference between the floating and the corresponding shapes. In addition, we measure the compactness of statistical shape model using the modes of variation. Experimental results show that our 3D statistical shape model generated by the mandible CT datasets with various characteristics has a high similarity between the floating and corresponding shapes and is represented by the small number of modes.

This paper analyzed the circularly polarized conformal microstrip patch antennal using the unsplit anisotropic perfectly matched layer(UAPML) method. Also, this paper are treated effectively the edge and corner parts on the 3 dimensional UAPML. Especially, to analyze microstrip patch antennas with the coaxial feeder line, it was applied to mixed the UAPML with Mur's first order absorbing boundary condition. Therefore this paper suggest the new the method to mix the UAPML with Mur's first order absorbing boundary condition. The results show the time responses of electromagnetics $E_z$ and $H\chi'$, input impedances of coaxial cable and radiation patterns of strip parchs on the single and the array patchs with central frequencies 1.575 GHz, 1.778 GHz and 4.8 GHz in L-band and C-band for mobile communication. The results of this paper shows that its results was compared the Mur's first order abc and mixed the second order dispersion boundary condition(SDBC) with the Mur's first order absorbing boundary condition. In accordance with, the validity of the method is confirmed.

The 3D building modeling is one of crucial components in building 3D geospatial information. The existing methods for 3D building modeling depend mainly on manual photogrammetric processes by stereoplotter compiler, which indeed take great amount of time and efforts. In addition, some automatic methods that were proposed in research papers and experimental trials have limitations of describing the details of buildings with lack of geometric accuracy. It is essential in automatic fashion that the boundary and shape of buildings should be drawn effortlessly by a sophisticated algorithm. In recent years, airborne LiDAR data representing earth surface in 3D has been utilized in many different fields. However, it is still in technical difficulties for clean and correct boundary extraction without human intervention. The usage of airborne LiDAR data will be much feasible to reconstruct the roof tops of buildings whose boundary lines could be taken out from existing digital maps. The paper proposed a method to reconstruct the roof tops of buildings using airborne LiDAR data with building boundary lines from digital map. The primary process is to perform octree-based segmentation to airborne LiDAR data recursively in 3D space till there are no more airborne LiDAR points to be segmented. Once the octree-based segmentation has been completed, each segmented patch is thereafter merged based on geometric spatial characteristics. The experimental results showed that the proposed method were capable of extracting various building roof components such as plane, gable, polyhedric and curved surface.

In this paper, to reduce the resonant length of patch, microstrip patch antenna of linear polarization which is suppressed at two radiation edges is designed and fabricated at the frequency of 1.575 GHz. The result is like that the resonant length of patch is 45 mm and the length reduction effect is 43.8 % when it is compared with that(80 mm) of plane type. The gain is 4.4 dBd and -3 dB beamwidths are 112$^{\circ}$ and 66$^{\circ}$ in the E-plane and H-plane, respectively. Also, to reduce the size of patch, microstrip patch antennas those are suppressed at four radiating comers are designed and fabricated at the same frequency in the linear and circular polarization, respectively. For linear polarization, at the 1.2 of width/length(W/L) ratio, the patch area is 53 mm $\times$ 63.6 mm and the size reduction effect is 56.1 % when compared with that(80 mm $\times$ 96 mm) of plane type. The gain is 4.3 dBd and the -3 dB beamwidths are 120$^{\circ}$ and 78$^{\circ}$ in the E-plane and H-plane, respectively. For circular polarization, the patch size(54.2 mm $\times$ 61.5 mm) is reduced by 47.2 % than that(76 mm $\times$ 83 mm) of plane type. -3 dB beamwidth of horizontal polarization in the z-x plane and vortical polarization in the y-z plane are 108$^{\circ}$ and 93$^{\circ}$, respectively and this means the increasement in both planes by 52$^{\circ}$ and 27$^{\circ}$ than those of plane type. The maximum gain is 2.5 dBd in the horizontal polarization in the z-x plane. Axial ratio is 1.5 dB at 1.575 GHz and the 2 dB axial ratio bandwidth(ARBW) is 20 MHz(1.3 %).
The 3D building modeling is one of crucial components in constructing 3D geospatial information. The existing methods for 3D building modeling depend mainly on manual photogrammetric processes, which indeed take great amount of time and efforts. In recent years, many researches on 3D building modeling using aerial LiDAR data have been actively performed to aim at overcoming the limitations of existing 3D building modeling methods. Either techniques with interpolated grid data or data fusion with digital map and images have been investigated in most of existing researches on 3D building modeling with aerial LiDAR data. The paper proposed a method of 3D building modeling with LiDAR data only. Firstly, octree-based segmentation is applied recursively to LiDAR data classified as buildings in 3D space until there are no more LiDAR points to be segmented. Once octree-based segmentation is completed, each segmented patch is thereafter merged together based on its geometric spatial characteristics. Secondly, building model components are created with merged patches. Finally, a 3D building model is generated and composed with building model components. The experimental results with real LiDAR data showed that the proposed method was capable of modeling various types of 3D buildings.

Emergence of high-resolution digital aerial cameras and airborne laser scanners have made innovative progress in photogrammetry and spatial information technology. The purpose of this study is to generate true orthoimage by recovering occlusion areas. The orthoimages were generated patch-based transformation. The occlusion areas were mutually corrected by using multiple aerial images. This study proposed a novel method of building roof based orthoimage generation and an effective method of occlusion area detection and recovery. The proposed methods could be efficient to generate true orthoimages in urban areas where occlusion areas are problematic.
Depth-image-based rendering is a technique that can be applied in a variety of 3D-display systems. It generates the images that have been captured from virtual viewpoints by using a depth map. However, disoccluded hole-filling problems remain a challenging issue, as a newly exposed area appears in the virtual view. Image inpainting is a popular approach for the filling of the hole region. This paper presents a robust hole-filling method that reduces the error and generates a high quality-virtual view. First, the adaptive-patch size is decided using the color and depth information. Also, a partial filling method for which the patch similarity is used is proposed. These efforts reduce the error occurrence and the propagation. The experiment results show that the proposed method synthesizes the virtual view with a higher visual comfort compared with the existing methods.

A stress distribution of composite laminates patches is obtained by using the Kantorovich method when the substrate is under uniaxial load. The analysis is based on the stress function approach and uses the complementary virtual work principle. The three-dimensional stresses satisfy the traction free conditions at the free edges and the top surfaces of the patch. The stress of the bottom surfaces of the patch is obtained from equilibrium equation of patch and substrate. To demonstrate the efficiency and validity of the proposed analysis, numerical examples for cross-ply and quasi-isotropic laminates are included. The present method provides accurate stresses in the interior and near the free edges of composite laminate patches.
An improved nonparametric tool description based on successive refined nonparametric patches is proposed and the related criterion for refinement is also discussed. In the proposed scheme any required order of tool surface conformity can be achieved by employing successive refinements according to the suggested criterion. By using the suggested adaptive tool refinement technique based on the nonparametric patch tool description the locally refined nonparametric tool surface with economic memory size and sufficient accuracy as well as with favorable characteristics for contact treatment can be obtained directly from the parametric patch related with commercial CAD system. Computation is carried out for a chosen complex sheet forming example of an actual autobody panel in order to verify the validity and the efficiency of the developed tool surface description.
We propose an algorithm which can reconstruct the 3D information from geographical information. The conventional techniques, the triangular patches and the Random Fractal Midpoint Displacement (RFMD) method, etc., have often been used to reconstruct natural images. While the RFMD method using Gaussian distribution obtains good results for the symmetric images, it is not reliable on asymmetric images immanent in the nature. Our proposed algorithm employs neural networks for the RFMD method to present the asymmetrical images. By using a neural network for reconstructing the 3D images, we can utilize statistical characteristics of irregular data. We show that our algorithm has a better performance than others by the point of view on the similarity evaluation. And, it seems that our method is more efficient for the mountainous topography which is more rough and irregular.
