Integrity Evaluation for 3D Cracked Structures(I) (3차원 균열을 갖는 구조물에 대한 건전성 평가(I))

  • Three Dimensional finite element method (FEM) was used to obtain the stress intensity factor for subsurface cracks and surface cracks existing in inhomogeneous materials. A geometry model, i.e. a solid containing one or several 3D cracks is defined. Several distributions of local node density are chosen, and then automatically superposed on one another over the geometry model. Nodes are generated by the bubble packing, and ten-noded quadratic tetrahedral solid elements are generated by the Delaunay triangulation techniques. To examine accuracy and efficiency of the present system, the stress intensity factor for a semi-elliptical surface crack in a plate subjected to uniform tension is calculated, and compared with Raju-Newman's solutions. Then the system is applied to analyze interaction effects of two dissimilar semi-elliptical cracks in a plate subjected to uniform tension.

  • In this study, Automatic design program creates 3D solid models and constructs them. The method of making assembly model is two. One assembles the element made in automatic design program with hand, the other develops the automatic design program for creating assembly model. Automatic design program improves the convenience of user. In creating gears, involute ewe and Trochoidal fillet curve are made by mathematical development.

  • The design and manufacture of injection molded Sear with desired Properties is a costly process dominated by empiricism including the interactive modification of prototype toolings. In this paper, an interactive computer-based design system for injection molded gear is developed in order to realize the concept of rational design for the productivity and quality of mold making of a small plastic gear. The knowledge-based synthesis system being developed in this paper combines a rule-based expert system with analytical process simulation programs in a synergistical manner. Quick and logical evaluations on the design of injection molded gear can be made on the scientific analysis and the accumulated experts' knowledge.

  • Hull design data is currently prepared by a 2D CAD system and re-input to 3D CAD systems specialized for detail design or to a structural analysis system. In this paper, sharing design data among different CAD systems has been studied. Based on STEP methodology, a neutral model is generated from 2D AutoCAD drawings. To handle a geometric data of this model, the non-manifold model of ACIS is used because it can support various CAD data representation such as 2D graphic entities, 3D wireframe, 3D surface model, and solid B-Rep/CSG model. It is observed that a mon-manifold model can easily be transformed to a 3-D wireframe model for the hull detail design system AutoDef or a FE model for the structural analysis system Nastran.

  • On-machine automatic measuring software from 3-D solid modeler is generally applied to assess the functional performance of a final produce for computer numerical control (CNC) machine. Automatic measuring software may also be performed on individual components of CNC machine in which some functional aspect of the component must be examined and cannot be implicity determined by means of a mechanical inspection. The manufacturing specialist, combined with the appropriate software simulation, can not only create the commands to drive the virtual measuring but also can check for mistakes by viewing the computer graphics simulation of the tool cutting sequence.

  • In this paper, an automated design and 3-D modeling system of an axial fan and a boss for cooling towers was developed. API and parametric design Provided by a commercial solid-modeler are engaged to automate modeling process. Design data of the boss are assumed to be given by a user with design experiences while the fan from the fan design program using three-dimensional flow analysis. An algorithm avoiding the interferences between fans and a boss is developed. The design data are registered on the database not only to remove duplicate design but also to transfer the data to ERP system.

  • When designing a gerotor, designers determine basic dimensions of a gerotor with transmitted power considering strength, interference and so. on. But, designers can not easily obtain the tooth profile generated by dimensions as well as the geometry bob for cutting the tooth profile. In order to resolve these problems, an automatic design sys-tem creating not only the solid model of a gerotor but also that of the generating hob using the design parameters of dimen-sions is developed. Through the developed system, designers can improve the efficiency of design and satisfy the variable requirements of design as well. In this research, the three-dimensional solid models for gerotors are generated considering the design parameters. Besides, those for generating hob regarding the design parameters of hob is created automatically.

  • This paper describes the runner and gate design capabilities of the RAMEDS system, which is a specialized CAD system for injection mold design, dcvcloped using the application procedure interface of the Unigraphics system. In this system, runners lying on sculptuted partlng surface can be modeled by projecting the runner trajectory on the surface and sweeping a selected cross section along the projcctcd trajectory. In addtion, the system provides solid modeling capabilities for three types of gates currently.

  • 오늘날 컴퓨터와 통신 기술의 발달로 시간과 공간의 제약 없이 공유된 가상 공간에서 작업을 하는 컴퓨터 지원 협동 시스템이 등장하고 있다. 그러나 그래픽 분야와 CAD시스템은 하드웨어와 응용 소프트웨어에 크게 의존하고 있는 실정이다. 여기에서 제안하는 협동 CAD시스템은 인터넷 망을 통하여 웹 상에서 플랫폼에 구애받지 않고 협동작업이 이루어지도록 하였고, VRML과 Java3D API를 이용하여 쉽게 도형을 생성하고 편집하여 전송하거나 출력 저장할 수 있도록 하며, 채팅을 통해 인터액티브 한 작업이 가능하게 하고 있다. 이 시스템은 클라이언트/서버 구조로 클라이언트는 자바 애플릿을 통해 웹 상에서 접근하고 서버는 자바 애플리케이션으로 접속을 통제하는 접속관리자, 작업 그룹의 동기화를 유지하며 공유작업공간을 확보하는 작업관리자, 그리고 3차원 도형 객체를 생성해 내는 솔리드 모델러로 이루어져 있다.

  • 본 연구에서는 3차원 솔리드 모델러로부터 Modeling한 후 제작된 model 에 사용자가 원하는 측정 위치를 지정함으로써 자동적으로 측정용 NC Data를 얻을 수 있는 알고리즘을 설계하고 이를 Program화하였다. 3-D Modeler로서 Unigraphics를 사용하였으며, 공작기계는 FANUC Controller를 장착한 Machining Center이다. 측정용 센서는 접촉식 Probe를 사용하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 CAD시스템에서 구축된 Geomaatric Model로부터 직접 측정을 위한 NC data를 얻고 이 data를 가공후의 측정 Data와 비교하여 봄으로써 제품의 가공정밀도를 확인해 볼 수 있으며, 가공시의 간섭 check, 잔삭가공여유, 과절삭등 다양한 정보를 얻을 수 있을 것이다. 향수 지속적인 연구개발을 통하여 data의 통계처리 및 공작기계의 오차 보정등을 고려하여 줌으로써 기계상에서의 측정 data에 대한 신뢰도를 구축할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
