Broad-Coupled Line Coupler Design using multilayer $SrTiO_3$/Organic composites (다층구조 $SrTiO_3$/Organic composites를 이용한 Broad Coupled Line Coupler 설계)

  • $SrTiO_3$/Organic composites 는 Inorganic/organic 복합재료로, 유전 특성이 우수하고, 저온하여 제조단가의 감소가 가능하다. 이를 바탕으로 $SrTiO_3$/Organic composites 복합재를 이용한 가능성을 확인하기 위해 Multilayer 구조의 Coupler를 설계, 제작 후 특성을 분석하였다. Coupler 는 RF signal을 분기하기 위한 목적으로 평행한 한 쌍의 Conductor line 구조를 가진다. 2개의 Line 의 길이를 특정주파수 $f_0$의 wavelength $\lambda$/4 로 설계하여 서로 근접 시켰을 때 $f_0$를 중심으로 RF 신호 분기 현상이 나타난다. 보다 넓은 대역에 걸쳐서 신호분기를 하기 위해서는 두 line 간의 간격을 좁혀 Signal coupling 효과를 증가 시킨다. single layer conductor 구조에서는 물리적인 한계가 있으므로, multilayer 구조를 사용하면 보다 넓은 대역의 Coupled line coupler 로서 기능하게 된다.

Development of Power Demand Forecasting Algorithm Using GMDH (GMDH를 이용한 전력 수요 예측 알고리즘 개발)

  • In this paper, GMDH(Croup Method of Data Handling) algorithm which is proved to be more excellent in efficiency and accuracy of practical use of data is applied to electric power demand forecasting. As a result, it became much easier to make a choice of input data and make an exact prediction based on a lot of data. Also, we considered both economy factors(GDP, export, import, number of employee, number of economically active population and consumption of oil) and climate factors(average temperature) when forecasting. We assumed target forecast period from first quarter 1999 to first quarter 2001, and suggested more accurate forecasting method of electric power demand by using 3-step computer simulation processes(first process for selecting optimum input period, second for analyzing time relation of input data and forecast value, and third for optimizing input data) for improvement of forecast precision. The proposed method can get 0.96 percent of mean error rate at target forecast period.

Bifurcation to Chaotic Thermal Convection in a Horizontal Annulus (수평 환형 공간에서의 혼돈 열대류로의 분기)

  • Thermal convection in a horizontal annulus is considered, and the bifurcation phenomena of flows from time-periodic to chaotic convection are numerically investigated. The unsteady two-dimensional streamfunction-vorticity equation is solved with finite difference method. As Rayleigh number is increased, the steady flow bifurcates to a time-periodic flow with a fundamental frequency, and afterwards a period-tripling bifurcation occurs with further increase of the Rayleigh number. Chaotic convection is established after a period-doubling bifurcation. A periodic convection with period 4 appears after the first chaotic convection. At still higher Rayleigh numbers, chaotic flows reappear.

  • Pipelined architecture improves processor performance by overlapping the execution of several different instructions. The effect of control hazard stalls the pipeline and reduces processor performance. In order to reduce the effect of control hazard caused by branch, we proposes a new approach combining both branch prediction and two paths strategy. In addition, we verify the performance improvement in a proposed approach by utilizing system performance metric CPI rather than BEP.

  • 본 논문은 LCD 생산라인의 물류 자동화 시스템 중 OHS(Over Head Shuttle)을 분기가 되도록 하여, 이송 효율을 높이고, 이송거리를 단축시키기 위한 선형 이송시스템에 적용이 가능한 영구자석 여자 횡자속 선형 전동기 개발에 관한 내용이다. 3차원 FEM 해석과정특성 실험을 통해 전동기의 특성을 분석하여, 직선-곡선 레일과 분기구간에서 이송 가능한 횡자속 선형전동기 추진모듈의 사양을 결정하고 시작품을 설계, 제작하여 OHS 시스템 등의 이송시스템에 적용 가능한지 그 타당성을 검토하였다.

  • A new analysis method of Tap-Off for CATV, DBS, CS systems was proposed and investigated by using 4-port and Lport equivalent circuits. As an analysis method the even$.$odd-mode theory for a symmetrical coupled-line directional coupler was introduced, and then it was applied to transformer type directional couple By comparing the results of simulation and measurement, the validity of the proposed analysis method was confirmed. Furthermore, the Tap-off has been broadened from 5 MHz to 4,000 MHz by adopting the propose theory.

  • 광스위치는 광통신 및 광교환 시스템에서 광 경로 제어를 위한 소자로써 누화 특성이 좋고, 스위칭 시 소모 전력이 작아야 한다. 프로텍션 스위칭(circuit protection switching)시에는 아무런 전력 소모 없이 초기 경로를 가진 스위치가 바람직하다. 기존의 전력 소모 없이 초기 경로를 가지는 스위치는 실리카 물질과 비대칭적 X-분기 광도파로를 사용하여 구현되었다$^{(1)}$ . 그러나 실리카 스위치는 열광학 계수가 작기 때문에 스위칭 할 때 전력 소모가 큰 단점이 있다. 최근에 열광학 스위치는 폴리머를 재료로 하여 많이 제작되었다$^{(2).(3)}$ . 폴리머의 열광학 계수는 실리카에 비해 10배 정도 더 크다. 대부분의 폴리머 열광학 스위치는 대칭적 Y-분기 광도파로를 사용하여 제작되었기 때문에 모든 스위칭 상태에서 전력 소모가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 4개의 비대칭적 Y-분기 광도파로가 직렬(cascade)로 연결된 구조를 갖는2$\times$2 열광학 스위치를 제안한다. 이 스위치는 전력 소모 없이 초기 경로를 가지며, 누화 특성을 향상시킨 구조이다. Optimal Design of Dendritic Water Distribution Systems Using Linear Prograning (선형계획법을 이용한 분기형 관망 시스템의 최적설계)

  • This paper presents a model for the optimal design of dendritic water distribution systems using linear progranning technique. The optimization model was formulated and applied to a coastal region reclamation project site located in Hae-Ham, Jun-Nam province. The water distribution systems in the region had aleady been designed using a hydraulic simulator(BRANCH). The optimization model developed in this research utilized the data given in the report of the project. The comparison between the systems designed by the simulator and by the optimization model shows that the optimization model provides better results and can be utilized more efficiently in the design of dendritic water distribution systems.

  • We propose a novel metric for quantitatively comparing different clustered results generated from software clustering algorithms. A quantitative evaluation of software clustering helps understanding of architectural changes of software. The concept of split, which has been used for analysis of genetic characters in bio-informatics, is applied in the analysis of software architecture.

Numerical Analysis on the Estimation of Shock Loss for the Ventilation of Network-type Double-deck Road Tunnel (네트워크형 복층 도로터널 환기에서의 충격 손실 평가를 위한 수치해석적 연구)

  • Shock loss was not applied for the tunnel ventilation of road tunnel in the past. However, pressure losses due to the shock loss can be significant in network double-deck road tunnel in which combining and separating road structures exist. For the optimum ventilation design of network double-deck road tunnel, this study conducted 3D CFD numerical analysis for the shock loss at the combining and separating flows. The CFD model was made with the real-scale model that was the standard section of double-deck road tunnel. The shock loss coefficient of various combining and separating angles and road width was obtained and compared to the existing design values. As a result of the comparison, the shock loss coefficient of the $30^{\circ}$ separating flow model was higher and that of the two-lane combining flow model was lower. Since the combining and separating angles and road width can be important for the design of shock loss estimation, it is considered that this study can provide the accurate design factors for the calculation of ventilation system capacity. In addition, this study conducted 3D CFD analysis in order to calculate the shock loss coefficient of both combining and separating flows at flared intersection, and the result was compared with the design values of ASHRAE. The model that was not widened at the intersection showed three times higher at the most, and the other model that was widened at the intersection resulted two times higher shock loss coefficients.
