  • The phonemic awareness program included construction of 45 activities emphasizing various sounds in speech and letter names using a storybook. The subjects were thirty 1st and 2nd grade low-income(15 experimental and 15 control group) children attending an after-school program in Seoul. Pre- and post-tests assessed children's reading, self-concept, and learning motivation. The experimental group children had rich opportunity to deal with and discuss sounds, syllables, phonemes, and the Korean alphabet names during storybook reading, games, and play over a 12 week period, while the control group children were provided with worksheets, subject tutoring, and homework guidance. Results showed that the phonemic activities were an effective and useful way to enhance children's reading ability, self-concept, and learning motivation.

하구둑이 낙동강 하구 표층 퇴적물 생규소(BSi) 분포에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Nakdong Estuarine Barrage on Distribution of Biogenic Silica (BSi) in Surface Sediment)

  • 본 연구는 하구둑으로 인한 육상으로 부터의 규소(Si) 플럭스의 변화가 하구 및 연안생태계에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 사전연구로, 하구둑이 존재하지 않는 섬진강 하구와 하구둑이 존재하는 낙동강 하구 표층퇴적물 및 퇴적물 코어 분석을 통해 하구둑이 입도와 유기물, 그리고 BSi 분포에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지 알아보았다. 2014년 11월과 2015년 3월 낙동강과 섬진강 표층 퇴적물의 입도, 유기물, BSi 분포를 조사하였고, 퇴적물 코어를 이용하여 낙동강 하구둑 건설 전 후의 퇴적상의 변화를 알아보았다. 전반적으로 BSi 농도 변화는 퇴적환경에 따른 입도 변화와 좋은 상관관계를 보였다. 자연하구인 섬진강 하구 표층 퇴적물은 상류에서 하류로 갈수록 니질(실트질과 점토질), 유기물, BSi 함량이 점진적으로 증가하였으며, 특히 조석의 영향이 미치는 중부하구 정점부터 그 변화가 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 낙동강 하구 표층 퇴적물은 하구둑을 기준으로 내측과 외측의 입도와 유기물 분포가 뚜렷한 차이를 보였다. 하구둑 내측은 정점 간 차이가 크지 않았으나, 우안배수문 내측은 높은 니질, 유기물, BSi 함량을 보여 하구둑에 의한 물질 정체 현상이 두드러지게 나타났다. 하구둑 외측은 전체적으로 사주 쪽으로 갈수록 표층 퇴적물 내 니질과 유기물, BSi 함량이 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 낙동강 퇴적물 코어 분석 결과, 하구둑 건설 이후 입도와 유기물, BSi 함량이 급격히 감소하였으며, 대규모 공사에 의한 퇴적물 교란 및 하구둑에 의한 물질 유입량 감소가 원인으로 보인다. 우안배수문 인근 정점(ND2) 코어는 을숙도 대교 건설과 우안배수문 증설의 영향으로 약 38 cm 부근에서 퇴적상이 한 번 더 급격히 변하였다. 하구둑으로 인한 물리적 환경의 변화가 BSi 분포에 미치는 영향을 제거하고 정체효과를 보기 위하여 $BSi_{exc}$를 구한 결과, 자연하구인 섬진강 하구는 연구지역의 상류에서 하류로 갈수록 $BSi_{exc}$가 점차 감소하였으며, 중부하구 정점부터 음의 값을 보였다. 낙동강 하구는 하구둑을 기준으로 내측은 양의 값을, 외측은 음의 값을 보였다. 이는 하구둑에 의한 외측의 규소 플럭스 감소와 내측과 외측의 규조 종조성의 급격한 변화 등을 원인으로 볼 수 있다. 우안배수문 외측 정점(ND2) 코어의 $BSi_{exc}$는 하구둑 건설 이후 일정한 음의 값을 보였으며, 이는 낮은 유속으로 인한 니질 퇴적의 증가가 원인으로 판단된다. 그러나 하구둑 건설 이후 $BSi_{exc}$가 크게 변동하였으며, 이는 을숙도 대교 및 우안배수문 건설로 인한 것으로 추정된다.

A2/O공정과 수정 Phostrip공정과의 질소 및 인제거 특성비교 (Comparison of Phosphorus and Nitrogen Removal Characteristics between A2/O and Modified Phostrip Processes)

  • An experimental study for the comparison of nitrogen and phosphorus removal efficiencies between $A^2/O$ and modified Phostrip (M-Phostrip process) were carried out with bench-scale reactors. In case of nitrogen removal efficiencies both of processes showed similar ones when influent organic loadings were high. However, M-phostrip process was more effective than $A^2/O$ at low organic loadings. This is why M-phostrip process consumes the whole mass of influent organics as a carbon sources for denitrification in anoxic reactor but the anoxic reactor of $A^2/O$ process utilizes the residual carbon followed by consumming a part of influent carbon for phosphorus release in anaerobic reactor. $A^2/O$ process required the influent COD/T-P and COD/TKN ratios were more than 56 and 10, respectively, to take place the phosphorus release in anaerobic process and phosphorus uptake in oxic process. However, the luxury uptake of phosphorus in M-phostrip process was not affected by influent COD/T-P and COD/TKN ratios and the adverse effect of nitrate in return sludge introduced to the p-stripper from the 2nd clarifier was not significant due to the configurational advantage of the p-stripper.

건설업의 KOSHA 18001 적용사례 연구 - 현장활동 수준분야 중심으로 - (A Study on the Application Instance of KOSHA 18001 to Construction Firms)

  • Through this study we have reviewed the implementation model, certificate criteria and the formation of KOSHA 18001 Safety and Health Management System and have compared and examined with OHSAS 18001 Certificate. In the course of the 1st questionnaires which have been participated by the concerned Safety and Health Staffs(such as Project Mannager, Site Supervisior, Safety Engineers) of the local construction sites, actual condition of application for KOSHA 18001 has been scrutinized and examined. And as a result, we presented the improved model by digging out the problems. The improved model has been applied for about eight months in local construction sites and the effectiveness has been carefully compared and examined before and after the application of the improvement model through the 2nd questionnaires by the relevant staffs (such as Project Manager, Site Supervisor, Safety Engineer and Project Engineers of the Coordinated Sub-Contractors).

Migration of calcium hydroxide compounds in construction waste soil

  • Migration of leachate generated through embankment of construction waste soil (CWS) in low-lying areas was studied through physical and chemical analysis. A leachate solution containing soluble cations from CWS was found to have a pH above 9.0. To determine the distribution coefficients in the alkali solution, column and migration tests were conducted in the laboratory. The physical and chemical properties of CWS satisfied environmental soil criteria; however, the pH was high. The effective diffusion coefficients for CWS ions fell within the range of $0.725-3.3{\times}10^{-6}cm^2/s$. Properties of pore water and the amount of undissolved gas in pore water influenced advection-diffusion behavior. Contaminants migrating from CWS exhibited time-dependent concentration profiles and an advective component of transport. Thus, the transport equations for CWS contaminant concentrations satisfied the differential equations in accordance with Fick's 2nd law. Therefore, the migration of the contaminant plume when the landfilling CWS reaches water table can be predicted based on pH using the effective diffusion coefficient determined in a laboratory test.

고속.대추력 리니어모터의 열특성 최적화 [2] (Optimization of the Thermal Behavior of Linear Motors with High Speed and Force ($2^{nd}$ Paper))

  • This paper presents some measures far the optimization of the thermal behavior of linear motors, which are used as a high speed feed mechanism in machine tools. Thermo-Sandwich-Construction using two cooling circuits and an insulation layer shows an effective cooling system for linear motors. Conducting sheet can be also used to reduce heat flow from linear motor to machine table. Cooling pipe is a simple and effective cooling system for the secondary part of synchronous linear motor. Through the combination of the Thermo-Sandwich-Construction, conducting sheet and cooling pipe the thermally optimized linear motor shows a well improved thermal behavior in comparison with the prototype motor.

  • The 1st and 2nd tension forces of the PSSC(Prestressed Steel and Concrete) girder constructed with commercial rolling beams and concrete are optimally designed. The design variables are the 1st and 2nd tension forces due to multi-step prestressing and live load. The objective function is set to the maximum live load. Design conditions are allowable stress at the top and bottom of slab, beam and infilled concrete due to a construction step. An Optimization of Matlab based program Is developed. The results show that the tendon position and concrete compression strength etc are important.

소규모 건설공사현장 작업자의 화재경보음 인지 실험 (Experiment on the Perception of Fire Alarm Sound of Small Construction Site Workers)

  • 이 연구는 소규모 건설 현장에서의 사이렌 및 휴대용 확성기에 대한 작업자의 화재경보음 인지 실험에 관한 연구이다. 사이렌 경보음 인지 분석 결과 지상 1층, 지상 2층, 지상 4층에서 측정한 경우 1층 보다는 지상 4층에서사이렌 경보음 인지 불능이 높게 나타났으며, 지상 1층의 경우 1명이 전부 인지 불능이었다. 지상 2층의 경우 1명이 마지막 3차에서는 인지를 못하였으며, 다른 1명은 3번 모두 인지 불가였다. 지상 4층의 경우에는 3명이 3차 실험 모두 인지 불능으로 나타났다. 휴대용 확성기 경보음 인지 분석 결과 지상 1층의 경우 1명이 전부 인지 불능이였으며, 지상 2층의 경우 총 2명이 인지 불능의 상태를 확인 할 수 있었고, 마지막인 지상 4층의 경우에는 4명이 모두 인지 불능으로 나타났다. 인지를 하지 못한 실험자들은 모두 작업 공간 및 장애물로 인해 휴대용 확성기 경보음과 작업 소음을 구별하지 못한 것으로 나타났다.

아파트 동출입구 디자인 유형 및 특성에 관한 연구 - 화성동탄신도시 시범지구 및 1, 2공구 아파트를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Design Types and Characteristics of Apartment Entrances - Focus on Whasung Dongtan Apartments -)

  • In recent years, the architectural interest in the apartment design has been getting focused on qualitative improvement and design differentiation. Especially the facade design differentiation is one of the most important elements in this matter. The purpose of this study is to provide the basic informations that can be referenced when architects are dealing with exterior design by analyzed design types and characteristics of apartment entrances. Target apartment of this study was whasung dongtan the 2nd phase new city districts which was planned to solve a housing shortage in the capital region. Having examined eleven pilot districts, four 1st construction areas, and eight 2nd construction areas, - total 23 complexes - 282 apartment entrances in 212 apartment buildings were carefully researched. Apartment entrance design can be divided into 15 different design elements: design types and combination types, direction, shape, height, approach types, exterior wall finishes of entrance, exterior wall finishes of lower parts of apartment, handrail types of slope, floor finishes of slope, distribution ratio of piloti, ceiling height of piloti, floor finishes of piloti, space use of piloti, window establishment between piloti and elevator hall, landscape elements of piloti. Design characteristics of building entrances were also analyzed in 4 groups (I, II, III, IV) divided by construction contractors ranking. In conclusion, first, design types and combination types can be classified into 15 different kinds, and the group I and II tend to show wider variety of entrance combinations. Secondly, the height and volume of extrude entrance type tend to increase in the group I and II. Third, the spatial configuration of pilotis appears to show more of 'pass + store + break' rather than 'access', as we get closer to the group I.
