In this paper, scenario-based urban flood prediction for the entire Jinju city was performed, and a simulation domain was constructed using G2D as a 2-dimensional urban flood analysis model. The domain configuration is DEM, and the land cover map is used to set the roughness coefficient for each grid. The input data of the model are water level, water depth and flow rate. In the simulation of the built G2D model, virtual rainfall (3 mm/10 min rainfall given to all grids for 5 hours) and virtual flow were applied. And, a GPU acceleration technique was applied to determine whether to run the flood analysis model in the target area. As a result of the simulation, it was confirmed that the high-resolution flood analysis time was significantly shortened and the flood depth for visual flood judgment could be created for each simulation time.

With the expansion of domestic hydrogen fuelling station infrastructure, it is necessary to secure reliability among hydrogen traders, and for this, technology to accurately measure hydrogen is important. In this study, 4 types of hydrogen trading volume calculation models (model 1-4) were presented to improve the accuracy of the hydrogen trading volume. In order to obtain the reference value of model 4, and experiment was conducted using a flow rate measurement equipment, and the error rate of the calculated value for each model was compared and analyzed. As a result, model 1 had the lowest metering accuracy, model 2 had the second highest metering accuracy and model 3 had the highest metering accuracy until a certain point. But after the point, model 2 had the highest metering accuracy and model 3 had the second metering accuracy.
Flow characteristics of the control-rod-attached 2-dimensional circular cylinder was accomplished using by PIV techniques. model tests had been carried out with different diameters of control rods(d/D=0.1 through d/D=0.5). and the Reynolds number Re=15,000 based on the cylinder diameter(D=50mm) to predict the performance of the model and the two-frame grey-level cross-correlation method had been used to obtain the velocity distribution in the flow field. 50mm circular cylinder had been used during the whole experiments and measured results had been compared with each other. The measured results have been compared with each case. therefore this article identifies not only the mean velocity profiles but also the control effects of the control rods.
The unsteady supersonic flow over two- and three-Dimensional cavities has been analyzed by the integration of unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) with the k - w turbulence model. The unsteady flow is characterized by the periodicity due to the mutual relation between the shear layer and the internal flow in cavities. Numerical method is upwind TVD scheme based on the flux vector split with the Van Leer limiters, and time accuracy is used explicit 4th stage Runge-Kutta scheme. Cavity flows are Comparison of two- and three-dimensional. The cavity has a L/D ratio of 3 for two-dimensional case. and same L/D and W/D ratio is 1 for three-dimensional case. The Mach and Reynolds numbers are held constant at 1.5 and 450000 respectively. For the three-dimensional case, the flow field is observed to oscillate in the 'shear layer mode' with a feedback mechanism that follow Rossiter's formula. On the other hand, the self-sustained oscillating flow transitions to a 'wake mode' for the two-dimensional simulation, with more violent fluctuations inside the cavity.

A computational analysis of nozzle flow characteristics and plume structure using Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with $k-{\omega}$ SST turbulence model was conducted to examine performance of the supersonic nozzle employed in a small liquid-rocket engine for ground firing test. Computed results and experimental outcome of 2-D converging-diverging nozzle flow were compared for verifying the computational capability as well as the turbulence model validity. Numerical computations of 2-D axisymmetric nozzle flow was carried out with the selected model. As a result, flow separation with backflow appeared around the nozzle exit. This investigation was reported as a background data for the optimal nozzle design of small liquid-propellant rocket engine for ground test.

Zinc selenide (ZnSe) single crystals hold promise for many electro-optics, acousto-optic and green laser generation applications. This material is prepared in closed ampoules by the physical vapor transport (PVT) growth method based on the dissociative sublimation. We investigate the effects of diffusive-convection on the crystal growth rate of ZnSe with a low vapor pressure system in a horizontal configuration. Our results show that for the ratios of partial pressures, s=0.2 and 2.9, the growth rate increases with the Peclet number and the temperature differences between the source and crystal. As the ratio of partial pressures approaches the stoichiometric value of 2, the rate increases. The mass fluk based on one dimensional (1D model) flow for low vapor pressure system fall within the range of the predictions (2D model) obtained by solving the coupled set of conservation equations, which indicates the flow fields would be advective-diffusive. Therefore, the rate and the flow fields are independent of gravity acceleration levels.
This study analyzed the hydraulic characteristics of a venturi flume with a circular cone using a 3-D numerical model which uses RANS(Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes Equation) as the governing equation. The venturi flume with the circular cone efficiently measures the discharge in the low-flow to high-flow range and offers the advantage of accurate discharge measurements in the case of a low flow. With no influence of the tail-water depth, the stage-discharge relationship and the flow behaviors were analyzed to verify the numerical simulation results. Additionally, this study reviewed the effect of the tail-water depth on the flow. The stage-discharge relationship resulting from a numerical simulation in the absence of an effect by the tail-water depth showed a maximum margin of error of 4 % in comparison to the result of a hydraulic experiment. The simulation results reproduced the overall flow behaviors observed in the hydraulic experiment well. The flow starts to become influenced by the tail-water depth when the ratio of the tail-water depth to the total head exceeds approximately 0.7. As the ratio increases, the effect on the flow tends to grow dramatically. As shown in this study, a numerical simulation is effective for identifying the stage-discharge relationship of a venturi flume with various types of venturi bodies, including a venturi flume with a circular cone.
Large artificial dam reservoirs and associated downstream ecosystems are under increased pressure from long-term negative impacts of turbid flood runoff. Despite various emerging issues of reservoir turbidity flow, turbidity modeling studies have been rare due to lack of experimental data that can support scientific interpretation. Modeling suspended sediment (SS) dynamics, and therefore turbidity ($C_T$), requires provision of constitutive relationships ($SS-C_T$) and accounting for deposition of different SS size fractions/types distribution in order to display this complicated dynamic behavior. This study explored the performance of a coupled two-dimensional (2D) hydrodynamic and particle dynamics model that simulates the fate and transport of a turbid density flow in a negatively buoyant density flow regime. Multiple groups of suspended sediment (SS), classified by the particle size and their site-specific $SS-C_T$ relationships, were used for the conversion between field measurements ($C_T$) and model state variables (SS). The 2D model showed, in overall, good performance in reproducing the reservoir thermal structure, flood propagation dynamics and the magnitude and distribution of turbidity in the stratified reservoir. Some significant errors were noticed in the transitional zone due to the inherent lateral averaging assumption of the 2D hydrodynamic model, and in the lacustrine zone possibly due to long-term decay of particulate organic matters induced during flood runoffs.

The current study focused on the utilization of building information modeling (BIM) data in steel-frame structures, which help to reduce project durations because they employ prefabricated structural members that are assembled on-site. In addition, a business process model was proposed using BIM data collected during the preconstruction, structural steel fabrication, and on-site construction phases of an actual steel-frame project. The ultimate expectation is that BIM data support at each phase, as well as the increased understanding among project participants, will result in an increase in project management productivity. The results from the current study are summarized as follows: To implement a BIM capable of application to steel-frame projects and data utilization, existing theories were studied to develop the construction project steps, both generally into the preconstruction (A1), steel fabrication (A2), and on-site construction phases, (A3) and specifically into 19 BIM-applicable phases. Based on the derived BIM-applicable phases, the model elements of the BIM object were identified, and the shortcomings of existing steel-frame projects were ameliorated, resulting in an improved data flow model. Moreover, for the proposed BIM data flow to progress efficiently, the BIM specialist needs to be well-acquainted with the phase-specific three-dimensional (3D) model output, and the infrastructure to construct an error-free 3D model must be provided. Based on the actual construction example, the BIM data utilized steel-frame projects - via production reports, clash checks, two-dimensional (2D) drawings, four-dimensional (4D) simulations, and 3D scanning - to make cooperation and communication among participants easier.

Driftwood is one of serious problems in a river environment. In several countries, such as Indonesia, Japan, and Italy, the driftwood frequently appears in a river basin, and it can alter the channel bed, flow configuration by wood deposition and jam formation. Therefore, the studies related to driftwood have been actively conducted by many researchers to understand the mechanism of driftwood dynamics. In particular, wood motion by collision is one of the difficult issues in the numerical simulation because the calculation for wood collision requires significantly expensive calculation time due to small time step. Thus, this study conducted the numerical simulation in consideration of the wood motion by water flow and wood collision to understand the wood dynamics in terms of computation. We used the 2D (two-dimensional) depth-averaged velocity model, Nays2DH, which is a Eulerian model to calculate the water flow on the generalized coordinate. A Lagrangian type driftwood model, which expresses the driftwood as connected sphere shape particles, was employed to Nays2DH. In addition, the present study considered root wad effect by using larger diameter for a particle at a head of driftwood. An anisotropic bed friction was considered for the sliding motion dependent on stemwise, streamwise and motion directions. We particularly considered changeable draft at each particle and projection area by an angle between stemwise and flow directions to precisely reproduce the wood motions. The simulation results were compared with experimental results to verify the model. As a result, the simulation results showed good agreement with experimental results. Through this study, it would be expected that this model is a useful tool to predict the driftwood effect in the river flow.
