User Preference and Workload Changes According to Information Visualization Methods (정보표현방식에 따른 사용자 호의도 및 업무부하량 변화)

  • Despite the wide range of information and engineering visualization techniques available, studies in investigating the effectiveness of the techniques in visualization has been rare. The typical visualization techniques were CAD, 2D and 3D computer graphics, and virtual environment (VE) that use 3D displays of 3D. space. The objects of this study is to analyze the user preferences and workload changes according to the visualization methods of engineering drawings such as 2D CAD, 2D computer graphics, 3D computer graphics, and augmented reality which is a variation of VEs. The results showed that users preferred 3D visualization techniques to 2D visualization techniques, though there were no workloads differences. Furthermore, the 3D perspective of AR which analogies the real world could facilitate the interpretation of engineering drawings.

  • 3D 모니터의 공급으로 IT영역 및 의료영상 분야 에서도 3D 영상에 관한 산업 발달이 화두가 되고 있다. 의료영상은 CT, MRI 영상의 정확한 판독이 필요하기 때에 2D 의료영상보다 구체적인 3D 정보를 얻을 수 있는 3D 입체영상에 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 3D 의료 촬영기계가 아닌 기존의 2D 의료 평면 영상 한 장만을 이용한 3D 입체영상을 제작하는 방법을 제안한다. 실험 영상으로 CT의 2D 의료영상을 사용한다. 장기의 영역 분할을 한후, 각 장기 성분을 분석한다. 분리 한 장기들은 명암값에 의해 구분 되며, 이를 바탕으로 영상의 깊이 정보를 추출한다. 추출한 정보로 깊이맵을 작성한다. 작성된 깊이 맵과 기본 2D 의료영상과 합성, 깊이를 할당하여 3D영상을 구현한다.

Effect of Sexual Contents on Presence, Arousal, and Sexual Attitude in 3D TV (3D TV 시청환경에서 선정적 영상이 실재감과 각성, 성적 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigates the detrimental effect of watching sexual content in three-dimensional (3D) moving pictures. An increasing amount of investment is put especially in 3D adult content to boost their 3D media industries. It is crucial that the effect of sexual contents on viewers be identified. In this experiment, a between-subject design was employed to analyze various effect of sexual content on participants whether they viewed the same stimuli in 3D or in 2D. In particular, the presence scaling was used to evaluate how real the video clip is. In addition, the permissiveness toward sexual behaviors and the level of sexual arousal were measured to examine the different effect of sexual content by dividing two separate groups in 2D and 3D condition. The result shows that those who watched a 3D video clip perceived higher sense of presence compared to those who watched a 2D video clip. Furthermore, subjects in 3D condition reported lower scores of permissive attitude toward sexual behaviors. This confirms that 3D display delivers more visual experience and has an impact on people in terms of perceiving sexual contents and changing their attitudes towards sexual behaviors.

THE EFFECT OF VITAMIN $D_3$ AND $TGF-{\beta}$ ON THE VIABILITY OF HUMAN PERIODONTAL LIGAMENT CELLS (Vitamin $D_3$$TGF-{\beta}$가 치주인대세포 활성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • [$TGF-{\beta}$] is a polypeptide with multiple physiological functions in regulation of cell-to-cell interaction and in growth and development. The active form of vitmain $D_3$, 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol $[1,25-(OH)_2D_3]$, is one of the most potent stimulators of osteoclastic acitivity. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of Vitamin $D_3$ and/or $TGF-{\beta}$ on the periodontal ligament(PDL) cells. Human PDL cells were prepared from the first premolars extracted for the orthodontic treatment and were incubated in the environment of , $37^{\circ},\;5\%\;CO_2\;and\;95\%$ humidity. 10, 50 or 100ng/m1 of $1,25-(OH)_2D_3$ and 0.1, 1, 5 or 10ng/ml of $TGF-{\beta}$ were administered to the culture wells, separately or in combination. And the viability of PDL cells was evaluated by MTT assay The obtained results were as follows. 1. The viability of PDL cells in 10ng/ml of vitamin $D_3$ was not significantly differenent from that of the control group at 1, 2 and 3-day of cultivation, but it was significantly increased in 50ng/ml of Vitamin $D_3$ at 3-day and in 100ng/m1 of Vitamin $D_3$ at 2 and 3-day. 2. The viability of PDL cells in 0.1ng/ml of $TGF-{\beta}$ was not significantly differenent from that of the control group at 1, 2 and 3-day of cultivation, but it was significantly increased in 1 and 5ng/ml of $TGF-{\beta}$ at 3-day of cultivation, and in 10ng/ml of $TGF-{\beta}$ at 2 and 3-day of cultivation. 3. In case of admixture of 1ng/ml of $TGF-{\beta}$ and the various concentrations of vitamin $D_3$, the viability of PDL cells was significantly increased in the admixture of 100ng/ml of vitamin $D_3$ at 3-day of cultivation 4. In case of admixture of 5ng/ml of $TGF-{\beta}$ and the various concentrations of vitamin $D_3$, the viability of PDL cells began to be increased from 2-day of cultivation in the admixture of 10 50 and 100ng/ml of vitamin $D_3$, but it was not maintained at 3-day in the admixture of 10ng/m of vitamin $D_3$. 5. In case of admixture of 10ng/ml of $TGF-{\beta}$ and the various concentrations of vitamin $D_3$ the viability of PDL cells was significantly increased in the admixture of 50ng/ml of vitamin $D_3$ at 2 and 3-day of cultivation, and in the admixture of 100ng/ml at 1, 2 and 3-day.

Pose-normalized 3D Face Modeling for Face Recognition

  • Pose variation is a critical problem in face recognition. Three-dimensional(3D) face recognition techniques have been proposed, as 3D data contains depth information that may allow problems of pose variation to be handled more effectively than with 2D face recognition methods. This paper proposes a pose-normalized 3D face modeling method that translates and rotates any pose angle to a frontal pose using a plane fitting method by Singular Value Decomposition(SVD). First, we reconstruct 3D face data with stereo vision method. Second, nose peak point is estimated by depth information and then the angle of pose is estimated by a facial plane fitting algorithm using four facial features. Next, using the estimated pose angle, the 3D face is translated and rotated to a frontal pose. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, we designed 2D and 3D face recognition experiments. The experimental results show that the performance of the normalized 3D face recognition method is superior to that of an un-normalized 3D face recognition method for overcoming the problems of pose variation.

Viewers' Psychophysiological and Self-report Responses to 3D Stereoscopic Display (3D 영상의 입체성이 콘텐츠 특성에 따라 이용자의 심리적 반응에 미치는 효과 - 콘텐츠의 유인가와 각성도를 중심으로 -)

  • There has been growing academic interest in revealing the effect of 3D stereoscopic displays, mostly based on the assumption that 3D would enhance the media user's psychological experiences. A 2(Display: 2D, 3D) x 2(Arousal: High, Low) x2(Valence: Positive, Negative) within-between subject experimental design, including both psychophysiological and self-report measurements, was employed to investigate if valence and arousal of the media content interact with the 3D stereo display. The results confirmed that 3D stereo significantly enhances the viewer's skin conductance level, while no meaningful difference for HR was found across the experimental conditions. The viewer's recall memory did not differ depending on the display type either. However, the viewer experienced a greater level of presence and liking of the content when the negative content was displayed in 3D stereo in comparison with the positive content. The practical implications of the results are further discussed.

Farm Survey on Eggshell Quality and Egg Vitamin D3 Contents in Laying Hens Fed Vitamin D3-enriched Diets (산란계 사료 내 비타민 D3 첨가에 따른 난각품질과 계란내 비타민D3 함량에 관한 농장조사)

  • Vitamin D3 is an essential nutrient which plays an important role in calcium metabolism for eggshell formation, in calcium and phosphorus metabolism for bone mineralization, and in maintaining host immunity. Although there have been a great deal of studies investigating the role of vitamin D3 in eggshell quality and vitamin D3 contents in eggs, no attempts have been made to monitor the eggshell quality and vitamin D3 contents in eggs at farm level. Thus, this survey was conducted to measure eggshell quality and vitamin D3 contents in eggs laid from laying hens fed diets containing different levels of vitamin D3. Eggs from four commercial laying hen farms were sampled before and 1, 2, 3 and 5 weeks after provision of the vitamin D3-enriched diets added with the level of 16,500 IU and 29,000 IU. Dietary vitamin D3 did not affect the eggshell color and breaking strength, but increase the eggshell thickness. In addition, vitamin D3 contents in eggs were elevated as vitamin D3 in diets was increased. It is concluded that addition of dietary vitamin D3 into the diets of laying hens at the commercial laying hen farms could improve eggshell quality and vitamin D3 contents in eggs. It is expected that the prediction equation for egg vitamin D3 contents might be produced if more data on vitamin D3 contents in diets and eggs at the farms are to be analyzed.

  • 미디어 기술은 사용자가 더욱 몰입감을 느낄 수 있는 방향으로 개발되어 왔다. 이러한 흐름에 따라 기존의 2D 이미지에 비해 깊이감을 느낄 수 있는 증강 현실, 가상 현실 등 3D 공간 데이터를 활용하는 미디어가 주목을 받고 있다. 포인트 클라우드는 수많은 3차원 좌표를 가진 여러 개의 점들로 구성된 데이터 형식이므로 각각의 점들에 대한 좌표 및 색상 정보를 사용하여 3D 미디어를 표현한다. 고정된 크기의 해상도를 갖는 2D 이미지와 다르게 포인트 클라우드는 포인트의 개수에 따라 용량이 유동적이며, 이를 기존의 비디오 코덱을 사용하여 압축하기 위해 국제 표준기구인 MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group)에서는 Video-based Point Cloud Compression (V-PCC)을 제정하였다. V-PCC는 3D 포인트 클라우드 데이터를 직교 평면 벡터를 이용하여 2D 패치로 분해하고 이러한 패치를 2D 이미지에 배치한 다음 기존의 2D 비디오 코덱을 사용하여 압축한다. 본 논문에서는 앞서 설명한 2D 패치 이미지에 super resolution network를 적용함으로써 3D 포인트 클라우드의 성능 향상하는 방안을 제안한다.

Herbicidal effect of 2,4-D, 2,4-D ethylester and bentazone on Sagittaria trifolia (벗풀에 대한 2,4-D, 2,4-D ETHYLESTER 및 BENTAZONE의 살초효과(殺草效果)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • The experiments were conducted to identify the herbicidal effect of 2,4-D{ (2,4-dichlorophenoxy) acetic acid}, 2,4-D ethylester {ethyl 2,4- dichlorophenoxy acetate} and bentazon{3- isopropyl-1H-2,1,3- benzothiazin- 4-(3H)one 2,2-dioxide} on Sagittaria trifolia. Both 2,4-D and 2,4-D ethylester could completely control S. trifolia when applied before 80 days after transplanting of the tubers (DAT), but the weeding effect by bentazone decreased when applied after 60 DAT. 2,4-D and 2,4-D ethylester were effectively translocated from the treated parts to growing point. They killed S. trifolia completely when applied at 80 DAT under 3cm standing water depths, but the controlling effect by bentazone decreased at deeper than 1cm standing water depth. Formation of S. trifolia tuber was effectively suppressed with 2,4-D at 7g ai/10a and 2,4-D ethylester at 6g ai/10a when applied 60 DAT.

  • The paradigm of mobile game contents move from 2D to 3D due to the development of the recent mobile technology and the change of the market environment. Therefore the game manufacturers are concerned about them but the game is developed in the 3D solution manufacturers which have high technology and some major CP and the game is served through the mobile telecommunication companies. Almost of the small CP in Korea ·also judge the mobile 3D game as a next source of benefit so they prepare the development of the mobile 3D game in the future value in market and the industry survival strategy but the game has defects. They take more developing hours and cost than the 2D game and the lack of manpower for the development and the information. Therefore, in this study, we researched the manufacturing environment being the optimization of mobile environment and developing process of 3D game in order to grope for overcoming different these circumstances.
