In this paper, we design and implement a IF(intermediate frequency) module for WLL(wireless local loop) CDMA(code division multiple access) basestation. The implemented IF transceiver is consists of transmitter, receiver and local oscillator. The considered signal bandwidth is 10 MHz and the local carrier frequency is 40 MHz. As test results, the If transmitter output power is -5dBm $\pm3dB$when the baseband input is -10dBm $\pm3dB$, and the IF receiver output power is -10dBm $\pm3dB$when the IF input is -5dBm $\pm3dB$. Also the AGC(automatic gain control) circuit has dynamic range of 9 dB from -7dBm to +2dBm with output power 2dBm. And the group delay characteristic is analyzed by comparing the phase delay from 1 MHz to 5 MHz and the phase distortion is very low. We can conclude that this IF system can be applied to high speed data rate communication system.

In this paper, the two-dimensional(2D) and three-dimensional(3D) analyses have been performed in order to evaluate the structural integrities and compare 2D and 3D results for nozzles attached to cylindrical shells. Three nozzles, which are currently used in the nuclear power plant, are chosen to evaluate the structural integrities, and each nozzle is subjected to internal pressure, temperature variation and external loads. It is found that the 2D analysis for internal pressure should be performed with a factor of more than 1.5 or a stress concentration factor; 2D and 3D analysis results for temperature variation are almost similar to each other regardless of cladding; and the analysis results for external loads by WRC Bulletin 297 are more conservative than the 3D analysis results.

In large scale environments like airport, museum, large warehouse and department store, autonomous mobile robots will play an important role in security and surveillance tasks. Robotic security guards will give the surveyed information of large scale environments and communicate with human operator with that kind of data such as if there is an object or not and a window is open. Both for visualization of information and as human machine interface for remote control, a 3D model can give much more useful information than the typical 2D maps used in many robotic applications today. It is easier to understandable and makes user feel like being in a location of robot so that user could interact with robot more naturally in a remote circumstance and see structures such as windows and doors that cannot be seen in a 2D model. In this paper we present our simple and easy to use method to obtain a 3D textured model. For expression of reality, we need to integrate the 3D models and real scenes. Most of other cases of 3D modeling method consist of two data acquisition devices. One for getting a 3D model and another for obtaining realistic textures. In this case, the former device would be 2D laser range-finder and the latter device would be common camera. Our algorithm consists of building a measurement-based 2D metric map which is acquired by laser range-finder, texture acquisition/stitching and texture-mapping to corresponding 3D model. The algorithm is implemented with laser sensor for obtaining 2D/3D metric map and two cameras for gathering texture. Our geometric 3D model consists of planes that model the floor and walls. The geometry of the planes is extracted from the 2D metric map data. Textures for the floor and walls are generated from the images captured by two 1394 cameras which have wide Field of View angle. Image stitching and image cutting process is used to generate textured images for corresponding with a 3D model. The algorithm is applied to 2 cases which are corridor and space that has the four wall like room of building. The generated 3D map model of indoor environment is shown with VRML format and can be viewed in a web browser with a VRML plug-in. The proposed algorithm can be applied to 3D model-based remote surveillance system through WWW.
3D simulation programs or games on a smart phone and a personal computer have often employed 3D graphic processing techniques and 3D graphical views. However, the user interfaces in those 3D programs have sticked to take a typical 2D style user interface and thus the combination of a 2D user interface view and a 3D simulation view give us a mismatched sense. Since a 2D user interface has been based on the windows controls, it causes sometime DC conflicts between a simulation view and an interface view. Therefore, we will implement the UI developing tool which can be inserted into the pipeline structure for the development of a 3D simulation software and also follows the view-handler design pattern in Microsoft windows system. It will provide various graphical effects such as the deformation of UI depending on the view direction of simulation view and the sitting pose of user. This developing tool gives the natural user interface which heightens the sense of unity with a given 3D simulation view.

This research entailed the production of stereoscopic 3D (S3D) contents using 2D-to-S3D conversion for exhibition at a museum and subjective evaluation. Hybrid production combining S3D images of existing live-action videos using the 2D-to-S3D conversion technology and computer graphic ones created via stereo rendering was conducted. Design and control of the chronological analysis of the parallactic angle was conducted on the produced contents, using binocular information as well as subjective evaluations, with the intent of conducting an investigation on the characteristics of such contents from the perspectives of the producers and viewers. An investigation was also conducted on the effects of the viewing position on the impressions of the S3D images.
The active metabolite of vitamin D such as $1{\alpha}$,25-dihydroxyvitamin ($D_3(1{\alpha},25(OH)_2D_3)$ is a well-known key regulatory factor in bone metabolism. However, little is known about the potential of vitamin D as an odontogenic inducer in human dental pulp cells (HDPCs) in vitro. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of vitamin $D_3$ metabolite, $1{\alpha},25(OH)_2D_3$, on odontoblastic differentiation in HDPCs. HDPCs extracted from maxillary supernumerary incisors and third molars were directly cultured with $1{\alpha},25(OH)_2D_3$ in the absence of differentiation-inducing factors. Treatment of HDPCs with $1{\alpha},25(OH)_2D_3$ at a concentration of 10 nM or 100 nM significantly upregulated the expression of dentin sialophosphoprotein (DSPP) and dentin matrix protein1 (DMP1), the odontogenesis-related genes. Also, $1{\alpha},25(OH)_2D_3$ enhanced the alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity and mineralization in HDPCs. In addition, $1{\alpha},25(OH)_2D_3$ induced activation of extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERKs), whereas the ERK inhibitor U0126 ameliorated the upregulation of DSPP and DMP1 and reduced the mineralization enhanced by $1{\alpha},25(OH)_2D_3$. These results demonstrated that $1{\alpha},25(OH)_2D_3$ promoted odontoblastic differentiation of HDPCs via modulating ERK activation.
This study analyzed the effect by comparing it with 2D game using playtest experimental treatment methodology to verify the video effect, materiality and fatigue effect of 3D video game. First, for the hypothesis to verify the difference of video experience of users for 3D and 2D games, visual clarity was rejected, but materiality, tangibility and presence hypotheses were all accepted. Second, it was shown that there was no difference in eye fatigue and physical fatigue in 3D and 2D games. It was different from results of existing research which claimed that fatigue occurred due to video distortion occurring in 3D video and fatigue inducing factors. Third, the results of measurement of changes in brain wave occurring in the course of playing 3D and 2D games showed that there was no difference in average amplitude of EEG alpha wave, but EEG beta wave occurred in higher amplitude. This study proved the cerebral physiological change and difference in the process of experience to use 3D video game by complementing the methodology in measurement in EEG brain wave in the traditional experimental method.
In this paper, we have studied the color compensation method for 3D that enables 3D color presentation similar to 2D. The color compensation method uses the difference of color presentation in 2D and 3D mode. First, the RGB I/O relationship curve was derived in 2D and 3D mode based on the input RGB color bar images. The relationship was modeled in modified power-law forms. Based on the modeling information, we generated color mapping tables, which can be used for compensating the difference of colors. The proposed color mapping block can be added at the output block of a 3DTV system, where the 2D content can be bypassed but the 3D content RGB data can be processed using the color mapping table. The experimental results show that the proposed method improves color presentation of a 3DTV system using a proper color compensation based on 2D presentation.
The hormonally active vitamin D metabolite, 1,25-dihydroxy vitamin $D_3[1.25-(OH)_2D_3]$ is one of the several humoral factors that may regulate osteoblast differentiation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of $1,25-(OH)_2D_3$ on the PDL cells. Human PDL cells were prepared from the first premolar tooth extracted for the orthodontic treatment and they were incubated in the environment of $37^{\circ}C,\;5\%\;CO_2\;and\;95\%$ humidity. $[{^3}H]$-thymidine incorporation as a measure of proliferation potential and alkaline phosphatase activity were evaluated at 10nM, 100nM $1,25-(OH)_2D_3$. The observed results were as follows. 1. $1,25-(OH)_2D_3$ was significantly enhanced $[{^3}H]$-thymidine incorporation at 100nM, But did not affect by 10nM. 2. $1,25-(OH)_2D_3$ was significantly increased alkaline phosphatase activity at 1 day and 6 days in a dose-dependent manner.

1, 25(OH)2-23ene-D3 is a novel vitamine D3 analog which has a double bond between C-23 and C-24. We describe the effects of this analog on cell differentiation and cell proliferation in vitro using the human histiocytic lymphoma cell line U937, and on calcium metabolism in rats in vivo. In the present investigation 1, 25(OH)2-23ene-D3 was compared to the natural metabolite of vitamin D3, 1$\alpha$, 25-dihydroxycholecalciferol[1, 25(OH)2-23ene-D3 was more potent than 1, 25(OH)2-23ene-D3 for inhibition of proliferation and induction of differentiation of U937 cells. Especially, its effect on induction of differentiation, as measured by superoxide production and nonspecific esterase(NSE) activity, was about 20-fold more potent that 1, 25(OH)2-23ene-D3. This analog morphologically and functionally differentiated U937 cells to monocyte-macrophage phenotype showing a decrease of N/C ratio in Giemsa staining and the increase of adherence ability to surface. Intraperitoneal administration of 1, 25(OH)2-23ene-D3 to rats showed that the compound had at least 50 times less activity than 1, 25(OH)2-23ene-D3 in causing hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria. The strong direct effects of 1, 25(OH)2-23ene-D3 on cell proliferation and cell differentiation, coupled with its decreased activity of calcium metabolism make this compound an interesting candidate for clinical studies including patients with leukemia, as well as several skin disorders, such as psoriasis.
