This study was designed to generate briefs pattern for women in their twenties using 3D parametric body model. 151 women in their 20's were random sampled and measured using Martine's anthropometry. And one subject was chosen as the representative subject for 3D scanning. Parametric model was generated of using CATIA P3, Unigraphics NX4.0, Rapidform 2006. And the 3D surface of parametric body model was flattened onto the 2D plane. 3 downscale ratios(0%, 10%, 15%) were applied to generated pattern to figure out what downscale ratio was suitable to make briefs with stretch fabric. 4 kinds of experimental briefs were made with stretch fabrics(0%, 10%, 15% downscale) and worn on the dressform. Subjective evaluation on the appearance was done and the data was analyzed by ANOVA with post-hoc test. Briefs pattern was generated through the process of flattening the parametric surface and arranging the patches to make briefs pattern by dart manipulation. The different ration of outline and area between 3D surface and 2D pattern were 0.22% and 0.09% respectively. It showed that a parametric model could provide a desirable pattern with minute size error. The results of subjective evaluation on the appearance of 4 experimental briefs showed that stretch briefs with 15% downscale ratio was evaluated most highly in most items. Findings imply that it is feasible to apply 3D parametric model to generate patterns for various items considering various fabric properties.

High quality 3D-heterostructures were constructed by selective area (SA) molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) using a specially patterned GaAs (001) substrate. MBE growth parameters such as substrate temperature, V/III ratio, growth ratio, group V sources ($As_2$, $As_4$) were varied to calibrate the selective area growth conditions. Scanning micro-photoluminescence ($\mu$-PL) measurements and following analysis revealed that the gradually (adiabatically) coupled 2DEG-1D-1DEG field effect transistor (FET) system was realized. This 3D-heterostructure is very promising for the realization of the meso-scopic electronic devices and circuits since it makes it possible to form direct ohmic contact to the (quasi) 1DEG.

The alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) callus was induced from seeds on SH medium contained $3\;mg/{\ell}$ of 2,4-D. Several regenerated alfalfa plants and many shoots were obtained by procedure of Kim et al. (1999); 1) incubation for 28~30 days on SH medium added $5\;mg/{\ell}$ of NAA and $2\;mg/{\ell}$ of Kinetin, 2) incubation for 3~5 days on SH medium added $11\;mg/{\ell}$ of 2,4-D and $1\;mg/{\ell}$ of kinetin. 3) incubation for 21~25 days on SH medium added $1.6\;g/{\ell}$ of ammonium sulfate and $5.75\;g/{\ell}$ of proline. To increase of root induction ratio on plant regeneration process of alfalfa, root induction ratio was examined on 8 kinds of medium, containing different amount of hormone and SH salt. Root induction ratio was higher on SH medium contained IBA than SH basal medium. In case 1.5 mg of IBA was added in SH medium, root induction ratio was the highest to 56.0% in this study. On the other hand, root induction ratio was higher on SH medium diminished SH salt amount to half volume and addition of IBA makes high root induction ratio, too. Thus, we conclude that the medium for root induction of alfalfa may be added $1.5\;mg/{\ell}$ of IBA and diminished SH salt amount to half volume.

This paper presents the miniaturization of circularly polarized microstrip patch antenna for UHF-band RFID portable reader. The proposed antenna has a group of four I-slots on a conventional corner-truncated square microstrip patch and it is shown that the antenna size is reduced compared to the antenna without I-slots. A 76 mm by 76 mm small antenna with four I-slots is fabricated with 6.4 mm thick FR4 substrate and its 10 dB return loss bandwidth, the gain and the axial ratio are measured to be $938{\sim}975\;MHz$, $-0.88{\sim}-2\;dBi$, and $3.27{\sim}13.21\;dB$ within the 10 dB return loss bandwidth, respectively.
A simple multi-channel spectrum analyzer using an InGaAs array sensor and a diffraction grating is proposed and developed for high-capacity optical transport networks. With the developed multichannel spectrum analyzer, we could measure signal power, wavelength, and optical signal-to-noise ratio of each channel for multi-channel optical signals with 100 GHz and 50 GHz channel spacing, simultaneously. We could measure each channel power and wavelength with a deviation of less than 0.2 dB and 0.063 nm, respectively. We have obtained optical signal-to-noise ratio with a deviation of less than 1.0 dB compared with conventional optical spectrum analyzer in the wide input power range between -42 dBm and -27 dBm per channel.

The purpose of this paper is to improve the availability of underwater sound by the fundamental data on the hearing ability of Redlip croaker Pseudosciaena polyactis, which is cultured according to the cultivation technology, recently. The auditory thresholds of Redlip croaker were determined at 6 frequencies from 80Hz to 800Hz by heartbeat conditioning method using pure tones coupled with a delayed electric shock. The audible range of the Redlip croaker extended from 80Hz to 800Hz with the best sensitive frequency range including little difference in hearing ability from 80Hz to 500Hz. In addition, the auditory thresholds over 800Hz increased rapidly. The mean auditory thresholds of the Redlip croaker at the test frequencies from 80Hz to 800Hz were 90.7dB, 93.4dB, 92.9dB, 94.4dB, 95.5dB and 108dB, respectively. Auditory masking for the redlip croaker was measured using masking stimuli with the spectrum level range of about 66, 71, 75dB (0dB re $1{\mu}Pa/{\sqrt{Hz}}$). According to white noise level, the auditory thresholds increased as compared with thresholds in a quiet background noise. The Auditory masking by the white noise spectrum level was stared over about 70dB within 80~500Hz. Critical ratio ranged from minimum 20.7dB to maximum 25.5dB at test frequencies of 80Hz~500Hz.

Considering a nonlinear high power amplifier(HPA) and a predistorter, we have designed a four-dimensional 8-ary phase shift keying trellis-coded modulation(4D-8PSK-TCM) system, which is recommended for X-band satellite communications. Subsequently, we have evaluated and analyzed the spectrum, constellation characteristics, and BER performance of the system. In satellite communications, owing to the limited power, nonlinear characteristics that determine the operating point of the HPA must be analyzed because the HPA consumes high power. We herein report the design of the 4D-8PSK-TCM system, with efficiencies of 2 and 2.25 bits/channel-symbol. The simulation results confirmed that a 0.35 roll-off value is effective, considering the low peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR) characteristic and the narrow occupation bandwidth of the spectrum. It also confirmed that approximately 15~20 dB of output backoff(OBO) value is required at the HPA when the predistorter is not used, and approximately 1 dB of the OBO value is required when the predistorter is used.

In this paper, we propose an algorithm that improves a tone quality of a noisy audio signal in order to enhance a performance of perceptual filter using intelligent estimation of noise pattern from a band degraded by additive noise. The proposed method doesn't use the estimated noise which is obtained from silent range. Instead new estimated noise according to the power of signal and effect of noise variation is considered for each frame. So the noisy audio signal is enhanced by the method which controls a estimation of noise Pattern effectively in a noise corruption band. To show the performance of the proposed algorithm, various input signals which had a different signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) such as $5\cal{dB},\;10\cal{dB},\;15\cal{dB}\;and\;20\cal{dB}$ were used to test the proposed algorithm. we carry out SSNR and NMR of objective measurement and MOS test of subjective measurement. An approximate improvement of $7.4\cal{dB},\;6.8\cal{dB},\;5.7\cal{dB},\;5.1\cal{dB}$ in SSNR and $15.7\cal{dB},\;15.5\cal{dB},\;15.2\cal{dB},\;14.8\cal{dB}$ in NMR is achieved with the input signals, respectively. And we confirm the enhancement of tone quality in terms of mean opinion score(MOS) test which is result of subjective measurement.
Particulate matter (PM) constitutes a hazardous blend of organic and inorganic particles that poses health risks. Inhalation of fine airborne PM with a diameter of ≤ 2.5 ㎛ (PM2.5) can lead to significant lung impairments. (+)-afzelechin (AZC), a natural compound sourced from Bergenia ligulata, boasts a range of attributes, including antioxidant, antimicrobial, anticancer, and cardiovascular effects. However, knowledge about the therapeutic potential of AZC for patients with PM2.5-induced lung injuries remains limited. Thus, in this study, we investigated the protective attributes of AZC against lung damage caused by PM2.5 exposure. AZC was administered to the mice 30 min after intratracheal instillation of PM2.5. Various parameters, such as changes in lung tissue wet/dry (W/D) weight ratio, total protein/total cell ratio, lymphocyte counts, levels of inflammatory cytokines in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), vascular permeability, and histology, were evaluated in mice exposed to PM2.5. Data demonstrated that AZC mitigated lung damage, reduced W/D weight ratio, and curbed hyperpermeability induced by PM2.5 exposure. Furthermore, AZC effectively lowered plasma levels of inflammatory cytokines produced by PM2.5 exposure. It reduced the total protein concentration in BALF and successfully alleviated PM2.5-induced lymphocytosis. Additionally, AZC substantially diminished the expression levels of Toll-like receptors 4 (TLR4), MyD88, and autophagy-related proteins LC3 II and Beclin 1. In contrast, it elevated the protein phosphorylation of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR). Consequently, the anti-inflammatory attribute of AZC positions it as a promising therapeutic agent for mitigating PM2.5-induced lung injuries by modulating the TLR4-MyD88 and mTOR-autophagy pathways.
Hydrodynamic characteristics such as gas holdup, liquid circulation velocity and bed expansion in a hexagonal inverse fluidized bed were investigated using air-water system by changing the ratio ($A_d$/$A_r$) of cross-sectional area between the riser and the downcomer, the liquid level($H_1$/H), and the superficial gas velocity($U_g$). The gas holdup and the liquid circulation velocity were steadily increased with the superficial gas velocity increasing, but at high superficial gas velocity, some of gas bubbles were carried over to a downcomer and circulated through the column. When the superficial gas velocity was high, the $A_d$/$A_r$ ratio in the range of 1 to 2.4 did not affect the liquid circulation velocity, but the maximum bed expansion was obtained at $A_d$/$A_r$ ratio of 1.25. The liquid circulation velocity was expressed as a model equation below with variables of the cross-sectional area ratio($A_d$/$A_r$) between riser to downcomer, the liquid level($H_1$/H), the superficial gas velocity($U_g$), the sparser height[(H-$H_s$)/H], and the draft Plate level($H_b$/H). $U_{ld}$ = 11.62U_g^{0.75}$${(\frac{H_1}{H})}^{10.30}$${(\frac{A_d}{A_r})}^{-0.52}$${(\frac({H-H_s}{H})}^{0.91}$${(\frac{H_b}{H})}^{0.13}$
