This paper suggests and demonstrates a novel flow measurement technique: tunable AC thermal anemometry that allows simple integration, robust measurement, and extremely high accuracy. The principle and simple theoretical analysis of the technique are presented. To find the optimal condition at which the phase lag becomes most sensitive to flow speed change, the phase lag was measured scanning the heating frequency from 1 to 100 Hz, while the flow speed of ethanol was increased stepwise from 0 to 40 mm/s. The sensitivity of phase lag depended on the heating frequency and the flow speed. It was possible to measure the flow speed of 0.7 mm/s with the resolution of 0.1 mm/s at 4 Hz.

We investigate star clusters in the Stephan's Quintet using Wide Field Camera 3 of the Hubble Space Telescope and three filters (F438W, F606W, F814W). Stephan's Quintet located at ~ 85 Mpc, so most star clusters are seen like point source even in HST image. We perform the Point Spread Funtion fitting photometry to find star clusters. Then we have selected 749 star cluster candidates by visual inspection. Usinng simple steallr population models (Bruzual & Charlot, 2003), we estimate ages of these star clusters. Many young star clusters found in tidal features of NGC 7318 and NGC 7319. Also star clusters in the shocked region of NGC7318 have younger age than those in NGC 7319 tidal tail. These result implies interaction which distrupt NGC 7319 first, and collision between NGC 7318 A/B occurred. In contrast, old star clusters are mainly located in NGC 7317 and in the center of other galaxies. Implications of these result will be discussed.

Serratia marcescens purine nucleoside phosphorylase (PNP) was purfied to homogeneity by streptomycin sulfate treatment, Sephacry HR S-200 gel filtration chromatography and AMP-agarose affinity chromatography. The specific activity of the enzyme was increased 49-fold during purification with an overall yield of 7.0%. The molecular weight was 168kD as estimated by Sephadex G-150 gel filtration chromatography. The S. marcescens enzyme was composed of six identical subunits with subunit molecular weight of 28kD, as estimated by SDS-PAGE. The Km values of S. marcescens enzyme for inosine and deoxyinsoine were 0.38 and 1.20 mM, respectively. The ph optimum was near 8.0, and the enzyme was relatively heat-stable protein. The enzyme was inactivated com-pletely by 0.5 mM of $Cu^{ 2+}$.

In this paper we provide a brief introduction to the continuity of approximate point spectrum on the algebra B(X), using basic properties of Fredholm operators and the SVEP condition. Also, we give an example showing that in general it not holds that if the spectrum is continuous an operator T, then for each ${\lambda}{\in}{\sigma}_{s-F}(T){\setminus}\overline{{\rho}^{\pm}_{s-F}(T)}$ and ${\in}$ > 0, the ball $B({\lambda},{\in})$ contains a component of ${\sigma}_{s-F}(T)$, contrary to what has been announced in [J. B. Conway and B. B. Morrel, Operators that are points of spectral continuity II, Integral Equations Operator Theory 4 (1981), 459-503] page 462.

This paper is aimed to develop a mathematical model for making the forecast information of typhoon's movement such as the estimated movement direction and positions after 24 and 48 hours. The proposed model calculates such kind of information of a typhoon by similar past typhoon's track data which are selected with three similarity criteria among the database of typhoons' tracks for past fifty years. We carried out a simulation forecast with No.14 typhoon formed in 1997, and found that the results of the proposed model were reasonable and it would be suitable for a simulation system for training mariners so that they can take suitable actions to evade the typhoons.

In this study, saponin content of extract from modified preconditioning process was investigated in Saponaria officinalis L. for cosmetic natural surfactant. Saponin content in steamed leaves from S. officinalis L. was about three times more than that in dried leaves (tea saponin and quillaja saponin). And saponin extracts from steamed leaves was excellently shown in both forming force and forming stability. In emulsion activity, saponin extracts from steamed leaves had a similar level to quillaja saponin and tea saponin. Saponin extracts from steamed leaves in S. officinalis L. showed nontoxic effect below in $1,000{\mu}g/mL$ of concentration and dose-dependent inhibition of NO production. From the experiment, the extracts of S. officinalis L. showed good cosmetic agent.

This study was undertaken to understand the interrelationships among customer's perceptions of service encounters, customer value, and behavioral intent in a family restaurant. Based on 331 samples obtained from empirical research, we reviewed the reliability and fitness of a research model and verified three hypotheses using a structural equation model. The results showed that physical environment (${\beta}$ = .418) and a customer interaction with the service provider (${\beta}$ = .265) had a significant effect on the customer's hedonic value. Additionally, physical environment (${\beta}$ = .126) and customer interaction with service providers (${\beta}$ = .264) had a significant effect on customer utilitarian value. Customer's hedonic (${\beta}$ = .538) and utilitarian value (${\beta}$ = .382) triggered by service encounters had a significant effect on their behavioral intent. Limitations and future research directions are discussed.

This paper focuses on a BOM(Bill of Materials) management problem for a small and medium manufacturing company that produce automobile parts. Automobile part's manufacturers produce various products due to various automobile characteristics such as types, colors, and the other options of car. These products are classified into product groups with common parts. And each product group is regarded as a product family. This paper proposes an efficient and effective EXCEL-based BOM management scheme using characteristics of the product family. And we have implemented the practical EXCEL-based BOM management system for real small and medium automobile part's manufacturing companies.

Objectives : This study reports a case of Soeumin patients with Herpes zostersMethods : We examined progress of Soeumin Herpes zoster patient's symptoms (skin blisters, pain, insomnia, etc.) and complications when during and after the treatments.Results : Soeumin Herpes zoster patient was diagnosed as Yang Depletion. Yongdamsagan-tang, Sweet BV, were effective for decrease the patient's skin blisters and pain. Soeumin Bojungikgi-tang prevented the patient's aftereffects.Conclusions : Soeumin Herpes zoster patient who had severe pain, blisters, and sleep disorder, was expected high risk of postherpetic neuralgia. But diagnosed Yang Depletion symptomatology and treated with Soeumin Bojungikgi-tang, patient recover completely without sequelae.

Fire, usually a detrimental factor makes changes in commonly structure and functions when it is practiced properly. In countries like Australia, South Africa, Japan and Texas in USA etc., fire is used as a tool to manage the natural ecosystems in productive condition on the basis of ecological approach. However, in developing countries like India there is effective measure to use and control fire in rangelands. This review provides knowledge on changes in sociological characters of plants, biomass profile, cycling of materials and strategy to use fire for the shaping of communities in different rangelands located in India and other countries. Further, the informations furnished in this article will be more useful for the forest managers, planners of rangelands and administrators in countries like India and tropical countries with similar bioclimatic conditions to prepare appropriate management plans where the fire is an integral factor.
