  • Purpose: In this study, We aim to estimate a untrained person's three postures using a 2D CNN model which is trained with minimal FFT data collected by a 24GHz FMCW radar. Method: In an indoor space, we collected FFT data for three distinct postures (standing, sitting, and lying) from three different individuals. To apply this data to a 2D CNN model, we first converted the collected data into 2D images. These images were then trained using the 2D CNN model to recognize the distinct features of each posture. Following the training, we evaluated the model's accuracy in differentiating the posture features across various individuals. Result: According to the experimental results, the average accuracy of the proposed scheme for the three postures was shown to be a 89.99% and it outperforms the conventional 1D CNN and the SVM schemes. Conclusion: In this study, we aim to estimate any person's three postures using a 2D CNN model and a 24GHz FMCW radar for disastrous situations in indoor. it is shown that the different posture of any persons can be accurately estimated even though his or her data is not used for training the AI model.

  • In this study, we designed a single antenna taking into account the performance, such as return loss and radiation pattern, of 28 GHz and 38 GHz array antennas for 5G mobile devices. In millimeter wave band communication, high path loss occurs between transmission and reception, unlike in conventional microwave bands. In the design of array antennas for 5G millimeter wave terminals, antenna performance such as antenna gain, bandwidth, isolation between antenna elements, side-lobe level(SLL), etc. should be further considered. The performance of the designed array antennas was analyzed by spacing the antenna elements at half a wavelength. Our results proved the validity of the design and its suitability for applications in mm-Wave by showing that the 28 GHz and 39 GHz array antennas had antenna gains of 13.5 dBi and 11.3 dBi and return losses below -18.4 dB and -20 dB, correspondingly.

  • In this paper, Dualband meander microstrip antenna is proposed for Wireless Body Area Network application. Designed antenna is mounted on the phantom to maintain a constant distance of the substrate, and studied the characteristics related to change in several meaningful parameters to improve performance. Characteristics of antenna, returnloss, radiation pattern, gain, bandwidth, are analyzed using Computer Simulation Technologes(CST) software. The proposed antenna operates at 4.33Ghz and 6.09GHz ~ 9.88GHz for UWB. The antenna showed that returnloss and -10dB bandwidth are -42.30dB and 410Mhz at 4.33GHz, maximum -29.11dB and 3.75GHz at 6.1GHz ~ 9.8GHz.

  • This paper presents a technique using a multilayered dielectric coating to reduce the radar cross section (RCS) value of an integrated mast mounted in a destroyer. The proposed multilayer structure has the advantage of being easy to fabricate because the dielectric constant is defined so that a general dielectric that does not contain a magnetic component that requires high dielectric constant or is frequently used for blocking electromagnetic wave absorption can be used. After applying the proposed multi-layer dielectric structure to the integrated mast shape, the simulation results show that the RCS reduction performance is 10.9dB at 6GHz, 11.95dB at 12GHz, and 11.63dB at 18GHz compared to the structure without the multilayer structure.

The proposed MIMO patch antenna had a 500 MHz bandwidth from 2.16 ~ 2.66 GHz and 24.1% fractional bandwidth. The return loss and VSWR were -62.05 dB, 1.01 at the ISM bandwidth of 2.45 GHz. The Wibro band of 2.3 GHz was -17.43 dB, 1.33, the WiFi band of 2.4 GHz was -31.89 dB, 1.05, and the WiMax band of 2.5 GHz was -36.47 dB, 1.03. The radiation patterns included in the bandwidth were directional, and the WiBro band of 2.3 GHzhad a gain of 4.22 dBi, the WiFi band of 2.4 GHz had a gain of 4.12 dBi, the ISM band of 2.45 GHz had a gain of 4.06dBi, and the WiMax band of 2.5 GHz had a gain of 3.9 6dBi.

  • A miniaturized triple-band antenna suitable for wireless USB dongle applications is proposed and investigated in this paper. The presented antenna, simply consisting of a circular-arc-shaped stub, an L-shaped stub, a microstrip feed line, and a rectangular ground plane has a compact size of $16mm{\times}38.5mm$ and is capable of generating three separate resonant modes with very good impedance matching. The measurement results show that the antenna has several impedance bandwidths for S11 ${\leq}$ -10 dB of 260 MHz (2.24 GHz to 2.5 GHz), 320 MHz (3.4 GHz to 3.72 GHz), and 990 MHz (5.1 GHz to 6.09 GHz), which can be applied to both 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN bands and 3.5/5.5 GHz WiMAX bands. Moreover, nearly-omni-directional radiation patterns and stable gain across the operating bands can be obtained.

  • For the size reduction, we propose a microstrip-fed monopole antenna with half X-slot in the radiation patch and cover WLAN dual band 2.4 GHz band (2.4 ~ 2.484 GHz) and 5 GHz band (5.15 ~ 5.825 GHz). The frequency characteristics such as impedance bandwidth and resonant frequencies were satisfied by optimizing the numerical values of various parameters, while the reflection loss in 5 GHz was improved by using defected ground structure (DGS). The proposed antenna is designed and fabricated on a FR-4 substrate with dielectric constant 4.3, thickness of 1.6 mm, and size of $24{\times}41mm^2$. The measured impedance bandwidths (${\mid}S_{11}{\mid}{\leq}-10dB$) of fabricated antenna are 450 MHz (2.27 ~ 2.72 GHz) in 2.4 GHz band and 1340 MHz (4.79 ~ 6.13 GHz) in 5 GHz band which sufficiently satisfied with the IEEE 802. 11n standard in dual band. In particular, radiation patterns which are stable as well as relatively omni-direction could be obtained, and the gain of antennas in each band was 1.31 and 1.98 dBi respectively.

  • Recently the frequency assignment and the technical specifications of UWB systems for communications are completed. Therefore many UWB systems have been developed. In our country $3.1{\sim}4.8GHz$ and $7.2{\sim}10.2GHz$ are assigned for UWB systems for communications. When we consider RF technologies and the easy implementation of UWB systems, UWB systems used in the low band are more developed than high band systems. In this paper we design and implement a BPF for low band UWB systems by means of considering the easy implementation of UWB systems. The designed and implemented BPFs are low band filter and low band channel filters. The measured results of the low band filter show that the filter has 21.85dB and 17.91dB attenuation at 3.1GHz and 4.8GHz, 1.53GHz of -10dB bandwidth and 2dB of insertion loss. Low band can be divided into 3 channels with 500MHz of the channel bandwidth. The channel filter for channel number 1 has the characteristics of 24.85dB attenuation at 3.1GHz, 0.61GHz of -10dB bandwidth and 1.87dB of insertion loss. The filter for channel 3 in low band has 19.2dB of attenuation at 4.8GHz, 0.49GHz of -10dB bandwidth and 2.49dB of insertion loss.
