필자는 한전자체내의 초고압건설에 관한 해외기술훈련계획에 의거 1974년 6원 12일부터 약 4주간 자유중국 진만전력공사의 345KV 송변전설비건설현장을 견학할 기회가 있어서 체류기간중에 필자가 보고 느낀 초고압건설의 일면을 한국전력의 경우와 비교하여 소개하기로 한다.

이 해제 목록은 제16회 독서주간을 기념하기 위하여 9월 24일부터 30일까지 서울특별시립 종로 도서관에서 본 협회가 개회한 ‘제1회 한국잡지전시회’에서 출품 전시되었던 잡지를 해제한 것으로 해방이후부터 1960년까지 우리나라에서 간행된 것 중 김근수 선생이 소장하고 있는 것만을 실었음을 밝혀둔다.

중국에서 8월 8일부터 24일까지 2주간에 걸쳐 열린 2008베이징 하계올림픽은 세계 경제대국으로 급부상한 중국의 이미지를 세계에 널리 알림과 동시에 세계 정치, 경제 분야에서의 입지를 더욱 확고히 다져나간 계기가 되었다. 전문가들은 동 올림픽 개최 후 중국 경제에 대해 낙관론과 부정론 입장을 펼치고 있다. 다음은 삼성경제연구소에서 최근 발표한 ‘베이징올림픽 이후 중국경제’를 요약한 것이다.

The objective of the study was to determine optimum clipping time, interval and height of Suwon 1 pearl millet hybrid in Korea to increase forage yield and quality. Clipping height 20 cm above the ground surface was the best resulting in producing 11.1 tons per hectare of green chop. However, clipping height 5 cm was not good for regrowth of the ratoon crop. Just after the first cutting when the plant height reached two meters around mid-July, four weeks cutting interval was the best for higher forage yield of 11. 4 tons per hectare. Crude protein content of the clipping height 20 cm was the highest being 12.8 percent. Dry matter of the first cut contained 14 percent of crude protein being the highest, and with lower crude fiber content of 24 percent. And also four weeks cutting interval was the highest in crude protein content being 13.1 percent along with lower crude fiber content of 24.2 percent. Thus, the forage yield depended on clipping height greatly, but the quality was dependent upon clipping time, interval and frequency more than cutting height pearl millet plant. It would be desirable for higher yield and quality of Suwon 1 pearl millet hybrid to cut three or four times during the growing season at 20 cm clipping height and at four weeks clipping interval from the first cut when the canopy height is above one meter under the Korean environmental conditions.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors related to the stress of orthodontic patients and their quality of life. The subjects in this study were 181 patients who respectively received orthodontic treatment at three different dental clinics located in the metropolitan city of S and K province. The collected data were analyzed by using a structural inventory designed to investigate the general characteristics, stress, the weekly amount of drowsiness and the quality of sleep, and the statistical package SPSS WIN 18.0 was employed. As a result, they got a mean of $40.51{\pm}20.43$ in the level of self-perceived stress, $11.06{\pm}5.42$ in the weekly amount of drowsiness and $13.24{\pm}9.72$ in the quality of life. And it's ascertained that there was a statistically significant correlation among all the stress of the orthodontic patients, their weekly amount of drowsiness and the quality of life.

This study was performed to investigate the effects of various media compositions in regeneration of Lilium lancifolium. The adventitious bud initiation from microscale was the best on MS medium supplemented with BAP 1.0 mg/L and NAA 0.1 mg/L after 4 weeks of culture. However, from bulbscales, adventitious bud initiation was the best in dark condition on MS medium supplemented with BAP 0.5 mg/L and NAA 0.1 mg/L. On the other hand, callus induction was found to be the best from the microscales incubated in complete dark condition for 8 weeks on MS medium supplemented with 2,4-D 1.0 mg/L and BAP 0.1 mg/L. The highest plantlet regeneration from callus was obtained after incubation in the light condition for 8 weeks on MS medium supplemented with NAA 0.5 mg/L and BAP 0.1 mg/L. Rooting of shoots was obtained easily on MS medium and the plantlets were transferred to soil pots after 8 weeks. The chromosome analysis of the root tip cells was revealed that the callus-derived plantlets had normal chromosome number, 2n=24. No variation was observed in the morphology of the plantlets.

In order to observe the differences of several characters related to earliness, seven barley varieties were tested under two different photoperiodic conditions. Final leaf number per main stem under long day did not vary among varieties, but ranged 6 to 7 in early group and 9 to 10 in late group under shortday. Shoot apex of early varieties, Jogangbori and Oweolbori reached to X stage at 24 days, but that of late variety, CI 15446 did to X stag at 32 days after transplanting under short day. Spike length reached to maximum length at 39 days in early group, but at 51 days in late group. Saeolbori, CI 15446 and Hangmi were photo-sensitive, but Jogangbori and Oweolbori were photo-insensitive. Therefore, the photoperiodic response to short day was most responsible to heading time. Those results showed that early heading varieties had the characteristics with less variation of final leaves, less retardation of shoot apex development and spike elongation, and shorter period to flag leaf emergence under short day.

A low iodine diet (LID) is the recommended preparation for radioactive iodine treatment. However, the recommended duration and stringency of LID are different among each recommendation. More stringent LID is expected in Korea because Korea is a iodine-rich region. We investigated the decrement of urine iodine excretion by two-week stringent LID for remnant thyroid ablation with radioactive iodine in Korean patients with thyroid cancer, prospectively. Material and Method: From November 2006, patients who referred to our hospital for remnant ablation after total thyroidectomy were included in this study. To decrease total body iodine, our protocol included three strategies. First, we checked medication which could inhibit the radioactive iodine uptake. Second, the date of 1-131 treatment was scheduled at least 3 months later if contrast agent had been used. The last strategy was two-week stringent LID education by specialized nutritionist. Before and after two-week stringent LID, 24hr-urine iodine was analyzed respectively. 24hr-urine creatinine was also analyzed for determining more valid 24hr urine sampling subgroup. Results: Total 51 patients were finally enrolled. Average of 24hr-urine iodine excretion was significantly lowered ($787{\pm}2242\;{\rightarrow}\;85{\pm}85\;{\mu}g/d$, p=0.03) after LID and 74.4% of patients reached below the recommended urine iodine excretion level ($<100\;{\mu}g/d$). In subgroup (n=14), similar results was showed ($505{\pm}666\;{\rightarrow}\;99{\pm}116\;{\mu}g/d$, p=0.05) and 78.6% of patients met the criteria. Conclusion: Most patients could reach below the recommended urine iodine level after two-week stringent LID. Therefore, in our opinion, at least two-week stringent LID should be recommended in Korea.

The constancy of the patterns of esterase isozymes in the mycelium of Pyricularia oryzae grown under various cultural conditions was observed by $10\~25\%$ polycrylamide gradient slab gel. The position of the isozyme was not affected by cultural age for 24 days. However the intensity of the band was affected. The band patterns were not affected by the carbon sources (glucose, maltose, fructose, sucrose or starch), single spore isolates, successive transfer culture and regenerated isolates from protoplast cultures.

Ready-to-eat chicken breasts were packaged in a multilayer, gas-tight tray with top film and various quality changes were investigated during the 24 wk of storage at $10^{\circ}C$. Over the storage period, total aerobes, mesophilic aerobic and anaerobic spore formers, and Clostridium spp. were not detected above 1.0 log CFU/g (detection limit). The residual oxygen ratio in the head space of tray and pH values tended to decrease with storage time, namely from initial values of 5.7% and 6.56 to 3.3% and 6.34 at week 24, respectively. Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances and volatile basic nitrogen values increased from 0.52 mg malonaldehyde (MA)/kg and 2.1 mg/100 g initially, to 3.70 mg MA/kg and 39.9 mg/100 g at week 24, respectively. In terms of the change in meat color during storage, the samples showed a slight increasing trend of CIE $a^*$, $b^*$, and ${\Delta}E$ values over the storage period until week 24 (p<0.05). The change in brine color showed a similar trend with meat of which Hunter $b^*$ and ${\Delta}E$ values increased slightly during storage during 24 wk (p<0.05). The values for the transmittance degree of brine in the samples tended to decrease. Moreover, values for the absorbance degree tended to increase with storage time until week 24. The sensory scores for color, texture, odour, and flavour were evaluated below 5.0 (marketability level) after 24 wk of storage. Based on this sensory evaluation, it could be concluded that retorted RTE chicken breast could remain marketable for at least 20 wk at $10^{\circ}C$.
