마리화나 남용환자의 역동적인 발달요인과 문제해결 (Dynamic Developmental Factors and their Problem Solving of Patients that Abuse Marihuana)

  • This study was made on patients who were Hospitalized due to sickness caused by the abuse of marihuana at the Psychiatric Section of a hospital during the period from Feb. to Oct., 1974. The following conclusion was obtained by reviewing the literature with respect to the nursing, and problem solving of those patients. 1. It appears that marihuana is a comparatively mild intoxicant in ordinary preparation without causing physical dependence or tolerance. 2. According to the status of men who are marihuana smokers, approximately 20% of them were college students, those preparing to retake college entrance examinations, non-employed and pharmacists. The men belong mostly to the middle foreigner′s mistress of higher, income bracket, and in the case of women, most of the smokers were US. servicemen entertainers. 3. Dynamic developmental factors: Case 1. : The patient had a characteristic, hysterical and emotionally unitable character, and was of low intelligence, In addition, to this already existing problem, the added uses of marihuana caused a mental illness to develope. Case 2 : The character, was reserved and introspective, her creative power and sentiment was fading and his ability of self-control was weakened. She used the smoking of marihuana to get rid of her own feeling of inferiority complex and tensions coming from interpersonal relationships. Case 3 : The patient was unconditionally resistive to the authoritativeness of superiors and irresponsible in his relationship with women, in his attitude concerning sex in general. He smoked marihuana because he felt become peace-loving and get enchanted experience through smoking it. 4. The points of issue appearing from the above case; (1) Movement of anti-social feelings against the "established system" by the youngsters. (2) Family problem. (3) Shamelessness, loss of motivation, disorderly attitude toward the sex, (4) Worries concerning the future. (5) Lack of knowledge concerning smoking of cigarette and marihuana. Chronic use of marihuana made, those youngman who had originally been ambitions to achieve something in life, lazy, inefficient, unable to make long-term plans, are such weak mined persons that they did not try to overcome problems when encountered. This will pose a great and important question in the mental health of the society, 5. Treatment and Problem sieving According to the literature, we will have to place importance upon hospitalized treatment The phases of treatment were divided into five parts. (1) Prehospital phase (2) Withdrawal Phase (3) Rehabilitation phase (4) Transitional phase (5) After-care phase The experiments have proved that there was much progress in the recovery of patients through environment therapy, supportive therapy and group psychotherapy. This was the above mentioned 5 phases of treating process in accordance with the weekly schedule of the hospital. It was thought that the patients would require prolonged after care management even after they were released from the hospital and that they will also require periodic visit, to the hospital and doctor′s interview with their family. In conclusion, the question of the young generation and marihuana smoking is becoming a great social problem in which their resistances to the "established system" and society is growing in the from of antiestablishment movements. In our country, the smoking of marihuana is gradually developing, therefore, I think, that it would be a very fortunate thing for us, if this report could be helpful for the motivation of further study on the questions of the young generation and its problems.

콩 lipoxygenase 효소의 효율적인 검정법 (Effective Screening Methods for Lipoxygenase Isozymes in Soybean Seeds)

  • 전기영동법과 발색반응법 등의 장 단점 분석을 통해 가장 저렴한 비용으로 신속, 정확하게 lipoxygenase isozymes를 검정하는 분석체계를 확립하여 무비린내 나물콩 품종육성에 활용 가능할 것으로 보인다. 1. SDS-PAGE 전기영동법은 Lx-0, L-1, L-2, 및 L-123의 검정에는 효과적이었으나, L-3, L-13, 및 L-23의 검정에서는 분리능에 있어서 정확도가 떨어져 검정효율은 92.2%를 나타내었다. 2. 발색반응법을 이용한 lipoxygenase isozymes의 검정방법은 간편하고 신속하였으며 검정효율은 95.7%였다. 3. L-1과L-2가 존재하는 종실의 기질용액에서는 1분 이내에 methylene blue의 청색 반응용액을 탈색시켰으며 그 결과가 오랫동안 지속되었다. 4. L-3가 존재하는 종실의 용액에서는 20초 이내에 ${\beta}$-carotene의 황색 반응용액을 탈색시켰으나 그 결과가 오래 지속되지 않아 신속한 결과분석이 요구되었다. 5. L-1, L-2 및 L-3을 동시에 검정하기 위한 전체 시료량은 콩 종자 1알의 약 10 mg 정도이면 충분하였으며, 검정하지 않은 나머지 부분은 파종에 이용될 수 있으므로 F2 종자에서 lipoxygenase isozymes 결핍계통을 조기에 선발 가능하였다. 6. 발색반응법과 SDS-PAGE 전기영동법을 적절히 겸용하여 수행하게 되면 시료 분석에 소요되는 시간은 1인 100점에 6.5시간 재료비는 약 54,000원이 소요되어 이 시스템이 가장 효율적인 lipoxygenase 검정방법으로 판명되었다.

전처리된 유기성오니와 생활폐기물 혼합에 따른 유기성오니 매립방법 평가 (Evaluation of Landfilling Method of Organic Sludge from Mix of Pre-treated Organic Sludge and Municipal Solid Waste)

  • 본 연구는 건조, 퇴비화, 고화로 전처리된 유기성오니와 생활폐기물을 각각 2 : 8과 4 : 6으로 혼합하여 매립할 경우 매립지 환경에 미치는 영향을 평가하고 유기성오니의 직매립금지 조치이후 적정 처리방안을 모색하기 위하여 실시하였다. 고화오니는 약 1,800$\sim$2,500 L의 가장 활발한 가스발생량을 나타내어 건조 및 퇴비오니의 1,150$\sim$1,650 L 보다 높았다. 악취 중 황화수소 최대농도는 Composted-20(약 80 ppmv) > Composted-40(약 55 ppmv) > Dried-20(약 30 ppmv) > Dried-40 $\fallingdotseq$ Solidified-20 $\fallingdotseq$ Solidified-40 (약 20 ppmv)순으로 나타났다. 침출수 발생초기 BOD$_5$는 Composted-40에서 약 38,000 mg/L으로 가장 높게 나타났으며, Dried-40이 약 28,000 mg/L, Dried-20이 약 26,000 mg/L, Composted-20과 Solidified-40이 21,000 mg/L를 나타내었으며, Solidified-20이 17,000 mg/L로 가장 낮았다. 570일차 고화오니의 BOD$_5$는 300$\sim$500 mg/L, 건조 및 퇴비오니는 2,000$\sim$3,500 mg/L의 농도를 나타내었다. 고화처리된 오니를 생활폐기물과 혼합할 경우 빠른 분해로 매립가스가 가장 많이 발생되었으며, 악취 및 침출수 농도도 가장 낮게 나타나 유기성 고화처리 후 매립쪽으로 유도되는 것이 가장 바람직하였다. 최근 매립가스 재이용(CDM) 사업을 수행하는 매립장에 대해서는 직매립을 허용하고 있으므로 유기성오니 매립시에는 반드시 생활폐기물과 혼합하는 것이 필요하며, 메탄가스를 보다 많이 생산하기 위해서는 고화오니를 혼합매립하는 것이 가장 유용할 것으로 판단된다.

RAW264.7 대식세포에서 LPS 매개 iNOS/NO 생성에 대한 protopanaxadiol saponin 및 protopanaxatriol saponin의 억제효과 (Prototypes of Panaxadiol and Panaxatriol Saponins Suppress LPS-mediated iNOS/NO Production in RAW264.7 Murine Macrophage Cells)

  • 본 연구는 RAW264.7 세포에서 lipopolysaccharide (LPS) 처리에 의한 염증매개인자의 유도에 대한 고려인삼 사포닌 분획인 20(S)-protopanaxadiol saponins (PDS)과 20(S)-protopanaxatriol saponins (PTS)의 조절효능을 탐구하였다. 이를 위해 RAW264.7 세포에 PDS 또는 PTS를 $150{\mu}g/ml$의 농도로 LPS ($10{\mu}g/ml$ 처리 이전이나 처리 이후 또는 LPS와 동시에 처리하였으며, 처리된 세포에서 nitric oxide (NO)의 방출량, 유도성 nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) 및 cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2)의 발현 량을 분석하였다. PDS에 비하여 PTS는 RAW264.7 세포에 LPS와 동시에 처리하여 24시간 동안 배양했을 때 LPS 처리에 의해 유도된 NO의 생성을 강하게 감소시켰다. RAW264.7 세포에 LPS ($10{\mu}g/ml$를 2시간 동안 처리한 후에 PDS 또는 PTS를 $150{\mu}g/ml$ 농도로 24시간 동안 처리하면 두 인삼 사포닌 성분 모두 NO의 생성을 강하게 감소시켰다. RAW264.7 세포에 PDS 또는 PTS를 $150{\mu}g/ml$ 농도로 2시간 동안 처리한 후에 LPS ($10{\mu}g/ml$를 24시간 동안 처리했을 경우에도 두 인삼 사포닌 성분 모두 LPS 처리에 의해 유도된 NO 생성을 강하게 감소시켰다. LPS 처리에 의한 NO 생성을 저해하는 효과는 PDS에 비하여 PTS가 더 강하게 나타났다. PDS와 PTS 모두 $150{\mu}g/ml$ 처리농도에서 LPS ($10{\mu}g/ml$처리에 의해 유도된 iNOS와 COX-2의 발현 역시 상당히 감소시켰다. 따라서 본 연구의 결과는 RAW264.7 대식세포에서 PDS와 PTS 두 인삼 사포닌 성분은 LPS 처리에 의한 염증활성화에 강한 억제효과를 가지고 있음을 의미하며, 전염증성 효소인 iNOS와 COX-2 발현의 감소조절을 통하여 NO의 생성을 억제함으로써 항 염증효과가 나타남을 제시한다.

인구통계적 특징에 따른 수산물 소비패턴 변화 분석 (An Analysis on the Changes of Seafood Consumption Patterns by Demographic Characteristics)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate consumer preferences, perception and consumption patterns for fish products. To investigate the difference in consumer responses according to the characteristics of the population parameters, data were collected from the survey of 404 Koreans and analyzed. The results are as follows: First, the differences of age; for the question of the reason why do you eat fish products, the younger generation (20~30s)'s most answer was 'The Taste' while the older age groups(40~50s and over 60s)' most respond was 'For Health'. Second, the differences of sex; women relatively considered 'The Quality' of fish products more important than men when selecting the products. Whereas, men thought 'The Taste' of fish products more important than women when they choose fish products. In addition, when the bad news or hygiene accidents about fish products are reported on media, women reacted more negatively for fish products purchase than men. Third, the differences of family members; the respondents who lived with 3 or more family members showed higher preference rates about purchasing trimmed fresh fish at the store than respondents who lived with 2 or less family members. On the other hand, single households relatively bought processed fish products and RTE(Ready To Eat) fish products more than other family member groups. In addition, single households preference rates about eating fish products as a main dish were very high compared to other groups.

Efficient Generation of BLCL Expressing Foreign Antigen as Antigen-presenting Cells with Recombinant Retroviruses

  • Epstein-Barr Virus(EBV)-transformed lymphoblastoid B cell lines, BLCL which expresse antigens, are potential antigen-presenting cells(APCs) for the induction of CTL in vitro. However transfection of BLCLs with subsequent selection by antibiotics is notoriously difficult because plating efficiencies of BLCLsare reported to be 1% or less. To generated stable transfectants of BLCLs we produced high titers of retroviruess encoding pp 65 antigen of human cytomegalovirus of foreign antigens and trans-duced them of BLCLs. The pp 65 gene was cloned into the retroviral vector pLXSN. The recombinant retroviral vector was transfected to ecotropic packaging cell line, CP&E86, and this polyclonal recom-binant retrovirus was transduced to PA317 that is amphotropic pakaging cell line. The titers of colned PA317 amphotropic retroviruses ranged from 5 to $\times$10$^{6}$ colony forming units (CFU)per ml (CFU/ml) We performed three rounds of consecutive transductions to BLCLs in order to improve the clon-ing effieiencies. The expression of recombinant HCMV-pp65 antigen was more than 20% after the final transduction. THe third-transduced BLCLs were easily selected in optimal concentration of G418. BLCLs expressing foreign antigens could be used as target cells for CTL assay and/or as APCs for induction of in vitro CTL responses specific for viral and tumor antigens.

동결보존액에 울금에서 추출한 Curcumin의 첨가가 정자의 운동성과 활성산소 생성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Curcumin from Turmeric Supplementation in Freezing Buffer on Sperm Motilities and Reactive Oxygen Species Generation)

  • In this experiment, we determined the effect of curcumin supplementation in freezing buffer for miniature pig sperm cryopreservation. Each ejaculate was diluted with modified Modena B extender and mixed with lactose-egg yolk (LEY extender, 80% v/v lactose solution [310 mM], 20% v/v egg yolk, and $100{\mu}g/mL$ kanamycin sulfate) and LEY-glycerol Orvus ES Paste (LEYGO, 89.5% v/v LEY, 5% v/v glycerol, 1.5% v/v Orvus ES Paste), 100 mM trehalose supplemented with 0, 10, 50, 100, and $500{\mu}M$ of curcumin from turmeric, respectively. Following equilibration, the 0.5 mL French straws were frozen and plunged into $LN_2$ tank for 7 days at least. Sperm parameter and oxidative byproducts were determined by the computer assisted sperm motility analysis (CASA) and fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) as compared with each groups. Supplementation of curcumin had no effect on sperm motility, progressive motility and curvilinear velocity. However, average-path velocity and straight-line velocity were significantly higher in $10{\mu}M$ curcumin group ($100.9{\pm}8.8{\mu}m/s$, $61.7{\pm}2.9{\mu}m/s$, respectively) than control group ($77.8{\pm}3.9{\mu}m/s$, $46.4{\pm}3.0{\mu}m/s$, respectively) (p < 0.05). In addition, the level of the O2 radical and H2O2 were comparatively decreased in curcumin groups by evaluation of ethidium and DCF fluorescence. According to the results, curcumin can improve sperm kinetic variables and alleviate ROS induced cryoinjury to pig sperm.

다음 세대와 한국교회 주일학교의 새 전망 (New Perspectives on Sunday School of Korean Church for Next Generation)

  • 21세기 초반 제4차 산업혁명 기술과학의 발전 속에서 갑자기 다가온 코로나19 전염병의 세계적 대유행은 한국사회의 산업, 경제, 사회, 교육, 문화, 종교 등 모든 분야가 큰 어려움을 겪고 있다. 코로나19 전염병의 확산을 막기 위한 정부 방역 당국의 방역 지침은 안전을 위하여 '삼밀금지', 즉 밀집, 밀접, 밀폐를 금지 혹은 축소하는데 초점이 있다. 이러한 방역 지침은 한국교회는 물론 주일학교 운영을 더욱 어렵게 만들었다. 일반적으로 20세기 후반에 들어서면서 한국교회 주요 교단의 통계자료를 살펴보면 교회 성장의 정체 혹은 퇴조기에 들어섰음을 보여주고 있다. 주일학교 역시 학생 수가 감소되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 연구자는 21세기에 들어서면서 한국교회 주일학교의 위기를 가져온 원인을 네 가지로 파악하였다. 첫째, 포스트모더니즘의 경향성인 근대 보편주의의 해체, 지식의 확실성과 객관성의 해체, 거대담론의 해체와 분산의 세계관 등의 영향이다. 둘째, 한국사회의 인구절벽시대에 노인 인구의 증가와 반대로 젊은 인구가 감소하는 현상이다. 한국교회 미래의 주인공이 될 젊은 인구가 감소하기 때문에 주일학교는 위기에 직면해 있다. 셋째, 코로나19 팬데믹에 따른 교회와 주일학교 교육활동의 제약이다. 마지막으로, 교회의 비전 상실과 교육열 감소 현상 등으로 분석하였다. 이에 따라 연구자는 한국교회의 다수를 차지하고 있는 교인수 200명 이하 규모에서 운영하는 주일학교를 염두에 두면서, 다음 세대를 위한 주일학교의 새로운 방향을 네 가지 내용으로 제시하였다. 첫째, 모든 것이 불확실하고 상대화된 포스트모던 시대에 절대적 기독교 진리를 확신하는 교사가 필요하다. 둘째, 젊은 세대의 인구가 감소하는 인구절벽 시대에 가정 친화적인 주일학교 패러다임으로 전환이 필요하다. 셋째, 위드 코로나19 시대에 대면과 비대면을 적절히 활용하는 방식의 교육활동이 필요하다. 마지막으로, 어려운 시대적 상황에 처한 한국교회 주일학교는 그럼에도 불구하고 '주님의 지상명령'(The Great Commandment, 마 28:18-20)을 따라 복음을 전파하고, 가르치는 교육의 비전과 열정을 회복해야 할 것이다. 본 연구가 모두가 어려운 시대에 한국교회를 다시 세울 미래세대를 위한 주일학교 교육활동에 작은 단초가 되기를 소망한다.

Characterization of Polyester Cloth as an Alternative Separator to Nafion Membrane in Microbial Fuel Cells for Bioelectricity Generation Using Swine Wastewater

  • Polyester cloth (PC) was selected as a prospective inexpensive substitute separator material for microbial fuel cells (MFCs). PC was compared with a traditional Nafion proton exchange membrane (PEM) as an MFC separator by analyzing its physical and electrochemical properties. A single layer of PC showed higher mass transfer (e.g., for $O_2/H^+/ions$) than the Nafion PEM; in the case of oxygen mass transfer coefficient ($k_o$), a rate of $50.0{\times}10^{-5} cm{\cdot}s^{-1}$ was observed compared with a rate of $20.8{\times}10^{-5}cm/s$ in the Nafion PEM. Increased numbers of PC layers were found to reduce the oxygen mass transfer coefficient. In addition, the diffusion coefficient of oxygen ($D_O$) for PC ($2.0-3.3{\times}10^{-6}cm^2/s$) was lower than that of the Nafion PEM ($3.8{\times}10^{-6}cm^2/s$). The PC was found to have a low ohmic resistance ($0.29-0.38{\Omega}$) in the MFC, which was similar to that of Nafion PEM ($0.31{\Omega}$); this resulted in comparable maximum power density and maximum current density in MFCs with PC and those with Nafion PEMs. Moreover, a higher average current generation was observed in MFCs with PC ($104.3{\pm}15.3A/m^3$) compared with MFCs with Nafion PEM ($100.4{\pm}17.7A/m^3$), as well as showing insignificant degradation of the PC surface, during 177 days of use in swine wastewater. These results suggest that PC separators could serve as a low-cost alternative to Nafion PEMs for construction of cost-effective MFCs.

북극 스발바드 군도 콩스피요르드에서 채집한 해조류 추출물의 항산화 활성 (Antioxidant Activity of Seaweed Extracts from Kongsfjorden, an Inlet in the Arctic's Svalbard Archipelago)

  • We examined the intracellular antioxidative effects of 20 Arctic seaweed extracts in Raw 264.7 cells. Each seaweed species was subjected to extraction using acetone/dichloromethane and methanol, respectively, after which the extracts were combined and used as the test sample. The antioxidant ability of all 20 seaweeds extracts was evaluated using four different activity tests, including the degree of occurrence of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS), $ONOO^-$, and lipid peroxidation in Raw 264.7 cells, as well as the extent of oxidative damage of genomic DNA purified from Raw 264.7 cells. Crude extracts from Monostroma obscurum, Alaria esculnta, Laminaria digitata, Desmarestia aculeata, Chorda filum, Ptilota seriata, Phycidrys rubens, Devaleraea ramentacea and Palmaria palmata exhibited significant scavenging effects on the generation of intracellular ROS. Among them, Monostroma obscurum and Phycidrys rubens significantly inhibited membrane lipid peroxidation and DNA oxidation. Moreover, Phycidrys rubens exhibited scavenging effects on peroxynitrite generated from SIN-1.
