  • In this paper, we designed and implemented the Dual Band Dipole Antenna with Tapered Microstrip Balun for WLAN Access Point. Two dipole antennas with different resonant frequency and the antenna structure combined additional line were implemented for dual band performance. In order to feed the balun current, the tapered microstrip balun was used. Produced the Dual Band Antenna shows a special quality. The quality is that all VSWR is less than 1.5 in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands in 802.11 standards, and it profits not less than 1.7dBi having typical Dipole Antenna pattern the very "a form of 8"pattern and Omni-directional pattern.

  • An inverted-F antenna for wireless local area network(WLAN) is presented. The proposed design is based on the typical dual-band planar inverted-F antennas(PIFA), which have two tunable resonant modes. The low-profile antenna is built by stamping and designed to be mounted on the metal frame of the laptop LCD panel. The obtained antenna can perform in 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands and be adopted for other wireless applications. All the measurements are performed in the actual test fixture.

  • In this work, a 70/140 GHz dual-band push-push voltage controlled oscillator(VCO) has been developed based on a 0.18-${\mu}m$ SiGe BiCMOS technology. The lower band and the upper band oscillation frequency varied from 67.9 GHz to 76.9 GHz and from 134.3 GHz to 154.5 GHz, respectively, with tuning voltage swept from 0.2 to 2 V. The calibrated maximum output power for each band was -0.55 dBm and -15.45 dBm. The VCO draws DC current of 18 mA from 4 V supply.

  • In this paper, a microstrip antenna for LTE / WiMAX is designed for UWB communication. The proposed antenna is designed for FR-4 (er = 4.3), 29[mm] x 45[mm], and can be used in the LTE frequency band of 1.82[GHz] and the WiMAX frequency band of 3.5[GHz]. Studio 2014 was used. The simulation results show 1.785[dB] at 1.82[GHz] and 1.720[dB] at 3.5[GHz]. S-parameters were also found to be less than -10dB (WSWR2: 1) in the desired frequency band. In order to achieve broadband, miniaturization, low cost and low loss, Width, length, width of transmission line, etc. were calculated. Therefore, it is considered that the applicable antenna can be applied satisfying the desired condition.

  • In this paper, a dual band LNA (Low Noise Amplifier) with a LC-tank matching circuit is designed for 912MHz and 2.45GHz RFID reader. The operating frequency is decided by the LC-tank resonance. The simulated results demonstrate that S21 parameter is 11.683dB and 5.748dB at 912MHz and 2.45GHz, respectively, and the S11 are -10.796dB and -21.261dB, the S22 are -7.131dB and -14.877dB at the same frequencies. The measured NF (Noise Figure) is 0.471 and 1.726 at 912MHz and 2.45GHz, respectively.

  • In order to enhance the isolation level between two dual-band E-slot microstrip patch antennas, EBG structure which operates in UMTS Tx(1.92~1.98 GHz) and Rx(2.11~2.17 GHz) band is proposed. The proposed EBG structure made with a periodic array of two different size EBG unit cells which has a modified mushroom-type for isolation improvement between two antennas. They do not share a common ground plane of the microstrip patch antenna. Overall size of the fabricated antenna is $210.5mm{\times}117mm$. The two different EBG unit cell sizes are $15.6mm{\times}4mm$ and $17.4mm{\times}4mm$, respectively. It was etched on the FR-4 substrate(thickness=3.93 mm, ${\varepsilon}_r$=4.6). The experiment results show that the isolation level between antennas in Tx/Rx band were improved by about 9 dB and 12 dB, respectively, through the use of the proposed EBG structure.

  • A novel design for a simple rectangular ring with open-ended monopole antenna wireless local area network (WLAN) applications is proposed in this article. The proposed antenna consists of an open-ended rectangular ring, an inverted L-strip, and a rectangular slit in the ground plane, and is fed by a 50 ${\Omega}$ microstrip feed-line. Prototypes of the proposed antenna were designed, fabricated, and tested. Experimental results show that the proposed antenna receives 2.3125-2.775 GHz and 4.8625-6.7125 GHz with a return loss less than -10 dB, covering the required bandwidths of the 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN standards. Meanwhile, the 2D radiation patterns and 3D gain performance of the antenna in the operation bands were also observed and discussed.

  • This paper has proposed a dual-band transmitter RF Front-end for IMT-Advanced systems which has been implemented in a 0.13-${\mu}m$ CMOS technology. The proposed dual-band transmitter RF Front-End covers 2300~2700 MHz, 3300~3800 MHz frequency ranges which support 802.11, Mobile WiMAX, and IMT-Advanced system. The proposed dual-band transmitter RF Front-End consumes 45 mA from a 1.2 V supply voltage. The performances of the transmitter RF Front-End are verified through post-layout simulations. The simulation results show a +0 dBm output power at 2 GHz band, and +1.3 dBm output power at 3 GHz band.

  • In this paper, the compact CPW-fed slot antenna for WLAN applications is proposed. While the proposed antenna with size of only $20{\times}18{\times}1mm^3$ is consisted of double stub and folded slot, the antenna for 2.4 GHz band and 5 GHz band is designed and fabricated with optimized parameters obtained by simulation. Proposed antenna is fabricated with FR-4 substrate to the thickness of 1.0 mm. By obtaining the measured return loss level of < -10 dB at dual-band, we showed that it is operated as antenna for WLAN applications, and then it is also expected to be usable as antenna for RFID.
