I-III-VI2 chalcopyrite compounds, particularly copper, indium, gallium selenide(Cu(InxGa1-x)Se2, CIGS), are effective light-absorbing materials in thin-film solar application. They are direct band-gap semiconductors with correspondingly high optical absorption coefficients. Also they are stable under long-term excitation. CIS (CIGS) solar cell reached conversion efficiencies as high as 19.5%. Several methods to prepare CIS (CIGS) absorber films have been reported, such as co-evaporation, sputtering, selenization, and electrodeposition. Until now, co-evaporation is the most successful technique for the preparation of CIS (CIGS) in terms of solar efficiency, but it seems difficult to scale up. CIS solar cells have been hindered by high costs associated with a fabrication process. Therefore, inorganic colloidal ink suitable for a scalable coating process could be a key step in the development of low-cost solar cells. Here, we will present the preparation of CIS photo absorption layer by a solution process using novel metal precursors. Chalcopyrite copper indium diselenide (CuInSe2) nanocrystals ranging from 5 to 20nm in diameter were synthesized by arrested precipitation in solution. For the fabrication of CIS photo absorption layer, the CuInSe2 colloidal ink was prepared by dispersing in organic solvent and used to drop-casting on molybdenum substrate. We have characterized the nanoparticless and CIS layer by XRD, SEM, TEM, and ICP.

PZT thin films (3500${\AA}$) ahve been prepared onto Pt/Ti/corning glass (1737) substrates with a RF magnetron sputtering system using Pb$\sub$1.50/(Zr$\sub$0.52/,Ti$\sub$0.48)O$_3$ ceramic target. We used two-step annealing techniques, PZT thin films were grown at a 300$^{\circ}C$ substrate temperature and then subjected to an RTA treatment. In case of 500$^{\circ}C$ RTA temperature show pyrochlore phase. The formation of Perovskite phase started above 600$^{\circ}C$ and PZT thin films generated (101) preferred orientation. As the RTA time and temperature increased, crystallization of PZT films were enhanced. The PZT capacitors fabricated at 650$^{\circ}C$ for 10 minutes RTA treatment showed remanent polarization 30 ${\mu}$C/$\textrm{cm}^2$, saturation polarization 42${\mu}$C/$\textrm{cm}^2$, coercive field 110kV/cm, leakage current density 2.83x10$\^$-7/A/$\textrm{cm}^2$, remanent polarization were decreased by 30% after 10$\^$9/ cycles.
We carried out anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) on a Si and a sapphire substrate. For anodic oxidation of Al two types of specimens prepared were Al(0.5 $\mu\textrm{m}$)!Si and Al(0.5 $\mu\textrm{m}$)/Ti(0.1 $\mu\textrm{m}$)$SiO_2$(0.1 $\mu\textrm{m}$)/GaN(2 $\mu\textrm{m}$)/Sapphire. Surface morphology of Al film was analyzed depending on the deposition methods such as sputtering, thermal evaporation, and electron beam evaporation. Without conventional electron lithography, we obtained ordered nano-pattern of porous alumina by in- situ process. Electropolishing of Al layer was carried out to improve the surface morphology and evaluated. Two step anodizing was adopted for ordered regular array of AAO formation. The applied electric voltage was 40 V and oxalic acid was used as an electrolyte. The reference electrode was graphite. Through the optimization of process parameters such as electrolyte concentration, temperature, and process time, a regular array of AAO was formed on Si and sapphire substrate. In case of Si substrate the diameter of pore and distance between pores was 50 and 100 nm, respectively. In case of sapphire substrate, the diameter of pore and distance between pores was 40 and 80 nm, respectively

This paper investigated the effect of the film deposition rate for $CrN_x$ microstructure and mechanical properties. For these purpose, pure Cr an stoichiometric CrN films were deposited with various target power density on Si hardened M2 tool steel. The variation of ni trogen concentration in $CrN_x$ f analyzed by AES and deposition rate was calculated by measuring of thickness using ${\alpha}-step$ profilometer. The microstructure was analyzed by X-Ray Diffract and Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM), and mechanical properties were evalua residual stress, microhardness and adhesion tests. Deposition rate of Cr and CrN increased as an almost linear function of target power density from $0.25\mu\textrm{m}/min$ and $0.15\mu\textrm{m}/min$ to $0.43\mu\textrm{m}/min$. Residual stresses of Cr and CrN films were from tensi Ie to compressive stress with an increase of deposi tion rate a compressive stresses were increased as more augmentation of deposition r maximum hardness value of $2300kg/\textrm{mm}^2$ and the best adhesion strength correspond HF 1 were obtained for CrN film synthesized at the highest target densitY($13.2W/\textrm{mm}^2$) owing to high residual compressive stress and increasing mobility.

The dielectric properties of continuous composition spreaded (CCS) $BaTiO_3-SrTiO_3$ (BST) thin filmsgrown at room temperature and annealed at different temperature ($350^{\circ}C$ and $550^{\circ}C$) were investigated. Moreover, electrical properties (leakage current and breakdown voltage) of CCS BST thin films were also investigated. The aluminum top-electrode, sized by $200{\times}200\;{\mu}m2$ and apart from each other by $300\;{\mu}m$, were deposited on the CCS BST thin films by the DC sputtering system. The dielectric properties of the CCS BST thin films were significantly influenced depending on the distance from $BaTiO_3$ and $SrTiO_3$ targets which was attributed to the $BaTiO_3-SrTiO_3$ composition ratio. The maps of dielectric constants and loss tangents were plotted via $1500\;{\mu}m$ - step measuring. The specific points showing the dielectric constant (k: ~300) and loss tangent (tand: ~0.008) at 1 MHz were found.

The development of a buffer layer is an important issue for the second -generation wire, YBCO coated metal wire. The buffer layer demands not only on the prohibition of the reaction between YBCO and metal substrate, but also the proper lattice match and conductivity for high critical current density (Jc) of YBCO superconductor, In order to satisfy these demands, we suggested CaRuO3 as a useful candidate having that the lattice mismatches with Ni (200) and with YBCO are 8.2% and 8.0%, respectively. The CaRuO3 thin films were deposited on Ni substrates using various methods, such as e-beam evaporation and DC and RF magnetron sputtering. These films were investigated using SEM, XRD, pole-figure and AES. In e-beam evaporation, the deposition temperature of CaRuO3 was the most important since both hi-axial texturing and NiO formation between Ni and CaRuO3 depended on it. Also, the oxygen flow rate had i[n effect on the growth of CaRuO3 on Ni substrates. The optimal conditions of crystal growth and film uniformity were 400$^{\circ}C$, 50 ㎃ and 7 ㎸ when oxygen flow rate was 70∼100sccm In RF magnetron sputtering, CaRuO3 was deposited on Ni substrates with various conditions and annealing temperatures. As a result, the conductivity of CaRuO3 thin films was dependent on CaRuO3 layer thickness and fabrication temperature. We suggested the multi-step deposition, such as two-step deposition with different temperature, to prohibit the NiO formation and to control the hi-axial texture.
Tantalum silicide films are prepared from a composite $TaSi_{28}$ target source and subjected to rapid thermal annealing($500-1100^{\circ}C$, 20sec) in Ar ambient. The formation and the properties of tantalum silicides have been investigated by using 4-point probe, x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope(SEM), Auger electron spectroscope(AES), and ${\alpha}$-step. It has been found that the sample annealed above $700^{\circ}C$ forms a polycrystalline $TaSi_2$ phase, and grains grow in granular form regardless of the kind of substrates. The mechanism of the formation of tantalum silicide is the nucleation and growth by Ta-Si short range reaction. The tantalum silicide film has the relatively low resistivity($70-72.5{\mu}{\Omega}-cm$) and smooth surface roughness.

Characteristics of Pb(Mg, Nb)O$_3$-Pb(Zr, Ti)O$_3$system thick films fabricated by a screen printing method were investigated. The buffer layer were coated with various thickness of Ag-Pd by screen printing to investigate the effect as a diffusion barrier and deposited Pt as a electrode by sputtering on Ag-Pb layer. The printed thick films were burned out at 650$\^{C}$ and sintered at 950$\^{C}$ in O$_2$condition for each 20, 60min after printing with 350mesh screen. The thickness of piezoelectric thick film was 15∼20㎛ and Ag-Pb layer acted as a diffusion barrier above 3㎛ thickness. The PMN-PZT thick films were screen printed on Pt/Ag-Pb(6m) and sintered by 2nd step (650$\^{C}$/20min and 950$\^{C}$/1h) using paste mixed PMN-PZT and binder in the ratio of 70:30, and the remnant polarization of thick film was 9.1$\mu$C/㎠ in this conditions.

In this paper, we investigated current (I)- and voltage (V)-sweeping properties in a double-stack structure, Ge2Sb2Te5/Ti/W-doped Ge8Sb2Te11, a candidate medium for applications to multilevel phase-change memory. 200-nm-thick and W-doped Ge2Sb2Te5 and W-doped Ge8Sb2Te11 films were deposited on p-type Si(100) substrate using magnetron sputtering system, and the sheet resistance was measured using 4 point-probe method. The sheet resistance of amorphous-phase W-doped Ge8Sb2Te11 film was about 1 order larger than that of Ge2Sb2Te5 film. The I- and V-sweeping properties were measured using sourcemeter, pulse generator, and digital multimeter. The speed of amorphous-to-multilevel crystallization was evaluated from a graph of resistance vs. pulse duration (t) at a fixed applied voltage (12 V). All the double-stack cells exhibited a two-step phase change process with the multilevel memory states of high-middle-low resistance (HR-MR-LR). In particular, the stable MR state is required to guarantee the reliability of the multilevel phase-change memory. For the Ge2Sb2Te5 (150 nm)/Ti (20 nm)/W-Ge8Sb2Te11 (50 nm), the phase transformations of HR→MR and MR→LR were observed at t<30ns and t<65ns, respectively. We believe that a high speed and stable multilevel phase-change memory can be optimized by the double-stack structure of proper Ge-Sb-Te films separated by a barrier metal (Ti).
