라스트 레벨 캐쉬 성능 향상을 위한 캐쉬 교체 기법 연구 (A New Cache Replacement Policy for Improving Last Level Cache Performance)

  • 캐쉬 교체 기법은 캐쉬 미스를 감소시키기 위해서 개발되었다. 마이크로프로세서와 주기억장치의 속도 차이를 해결하기 위해서는 캐쉬 교체 기법의 성능이 중요하다. 일반적인 캐쉬 교체 기법으로는 LRU 기법이 있으며 대부분의 마이크로프로세서에서 캐쉬 교체 기법으로 LRU 기법을 사용한다. 그러나, 최근의 연구에 따르면 LRU 기법과 최적 교체(OPT) 기법 간의 성능 차이는 매우 크다. LRU 기법의 성능은 많은 연구를 통해서 검증되었지만, 캐쉬 사상방식이 높아질수록 LRU 기법과 OPT 기법의 성능 차이는 증가한다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 LRU 기법을 활용하여 캐쉬 성능을 향상시키는 캐쉬 교체 기법을 제안하였다. 제안된 캐쉬 교체 기법은 캐쉬 블록의 접근율에 따라 교체 대상을 선정하여 캐쉬 블록을 교체시킨다. 제안된 캐쉬 교체 기법은 512KB L2 캐쉬에서 기존의 LRU 기법과 비교하여 평균 15%의 미스율을 감소시켰고, 프로세서 성능은 4.7% 향상됨을 알 수 있다.

정밀냉간단조에 의한 엔진오일 누수방지용 자동차부품 개발 (Development of the Automobile Part for the Engine Oil Leakage Prevention by the Precise Cold Forging)

  • This study was aimed at the design of the dies for the automobile part for the engine oil leakage prevention using the computer simulation to shorten the period of production, on the basis of the process planning which was designed by the field experts. In the computer simulation,'eesy-2-form' of 2D FEM simulation package and 'eesy-DieOpt' have been used, which are the commercial process analysis and die design program. Through the simulation of 'eesy-2-form', we could know the propriety of the forming process, the inner pressure of the die and the suitable fitting pressure between the insert and the sleeve which was not showing any positive tangential stresses in the insert. Through the simulation of 'eesy-DieOpt', we could know the number of the stress ring, the diameter ratios, the stresses of the die, the shrink fitting tolerance and temperature in the condition of the already determined maximum outer die diameter of the multi-stage former. The validity of the die design using the computer simulation was analyzed by the experiments and the results were satisfactory. As the results of this study, the new and easy die design system for cold forging has been developed.

극저온에서 증착된 비정질실리콘 산화막 기반의 고성능 박막태양전지 (High Performance Amorphous Silicon Oxide Thin Film Solar Cells Fabricated at Very Low Temperature)

  • Present thin film solar cells with hydrogenated amorphous silicon oxide (a-SiO:H) as an absorber suffer from low fill factor(FF) of 61~64 [%] in spite of its benefits related to high open circuit voltage ($V_{oc}$). Since degraded quality of a-SiO:H absorber by alloying with oxygen can affect the FF, we aimed to achieve high photosensitivity by minimizing $CO_2$ gas addition. Improving optical gap($E_{opt}$) has been attained by strong hydrogen dilution combined with lowering substrate temperature down to 100 [$^{\circ}C$]. Small amount of the $CO_2$ was added in order to disturb microcrystalline formation by high hydrogen dilution. The developed a-SiO:H has high photosensitivity (${\sim}2{\times}10^5$) and high $E_{opt}$ of 1.85 [eV], which contributed to attain remarkable FF of 74 [%] and high $V_{oc}$ (>1 [V]). As a result, high power conversion efficiency of 7.18 [%] was demonstrated by using very thin absorber layer of only 100 [nm], even though we processed all experiment at extremely low temperature of 100 [$^{\circ}C$].

항공기 예비엔진 및 모듈 재고수준이 전시 운용가용도에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Aircraft Spare Engine and Module Inventory Level on Wartime Operational Availability)

  • It is important to maintain on operational availability of aircraft during wartime. The KF-16 fighter, the backbone of the ROKAF (Republic Of Korea Air Force), has a single engine. Therefore, the engine has a critical influence on operational availability. The purpose of this study is to estimate optimal levels of spare part inventories concerning both engines and modules. That is provided by linear programming methods utilizing a developed meta-model. For drawing out the meta-model, we develop a simulation model which can consider wartime demands. In the previous study, $2^k$ factorial design method is used to check the influence of each independent variable. That method requires relatively many scenarios because every extreme value combination of independent variables should be checked. However, this study adopts NOLH (Nearly Orthogonal Latin Hypercube) as an experimental design. By adopting NOLH, this study increases not only efficiency but also accuracy. That is proven by comparing the validity of the developed meta-model on both experimental designs. This study also utilizes the OptQuest simulation tool in ARENA to derive the optimal level of spare stocks. By comparing the result of OptQuest to that of the developed meta-model, the validity of this study is secured.

흙의 물리적 성질이 다짐에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Effect of Some Physical Properties of Soil on the Compaction)

  • This study is to investigate the effect of some physical properties of soil on the compaction. The compaction effect depends upon various factors such as soil type, moisture content, gradation and compaction energy. In this study, with steady compaction energy, the relationships between maximum dry density and moisture content, gradation and consistency were analyzed by soil types. Some results obtained in this study are summarized as follows 1. Generally, the coarser the grain size, the bigger is the maximum dry density and the smaller is the optimum moisture content and its moisture-dry denisty curve is relatively steep. The finner the grain size, the smaller is the max. dry density and the bigger is the opt. moisture content and its moisture-dry density curve is less steep. 2. The relationship between max. dry density (${\gamma}$dmax) and opt. moisture content, void ratio, clay content, percent passing of No. 200 sieve, liquid limit and plastic limit can be represented by the equation ${\gamma}$dmax =ao+a1X(a0>0, a1<0) 3. The relationship between opt. moisture content (Wopt) and clay content, percent passing of No. 200 sieve, liquid limit and plastic limit can be represented by the equation Wopt=a0+a1X(a0>0, al>0). 4. The fact that maximum dry density of the compacted soil is decreased with the increase of the optimum moisture content in any types of soil tested, and the fact that optimum moisture content can be positively correlated with clay content, percent passing of No. 200 sieve, liquid limit and plastic limit of the soil, lead to the conclusion that clay content, percent passing of No. 200 sieve, liquid limit and plastic limit of the soil are direct factors in reduction of the maximum dry density of engineering soil.

슬링운동치료에서 Hanging Point의 원리와 임상적 적용 (A Clinical Application with the Principle of Hanging Point In the Sling Exercise Therapy)

  • Sling exercise treatment(S-E-T) is a therapeutic exercise based on scientific studies for the purpose of treating musculoskeletal or neurological disorders thereby improving strength, endurance, and skills for sensory-motor integration. Exercise resistance and intensity can be modified in various ways by changing the length of rope, patient position, therapist's manual resistance, and using elastic rope. The therapist can also progress to successively higher levels of exercise resistance and intensity by changing the position of the hanging point: the subject of this article. In brief, there are three axial components in S-E-T; hanging point, motor axis, and suspension point. The hanging point can be changed in several ways in relation to the joint; axial, superior, inferior, medial, and posterior hanging points. The position of the hanging point affects the amount of load on agonist and antagonist muscles as well as on the range of motion. To create an advanced exercise program, selection of hanging point can be two-dimensional such as superior-lateral or anterior-medial. Therapists, therefore, can freely but carefully select the best hanging point based on the purpose of the exercise and their level of knowledge in S-E-T.

미생물(微生物) Inulase에 관한 연구(硏究) 제1보(第一報) -Inulase생산균주(生産菌株)의 분리(分離)와 효소생산(酵素生産)을 위한 배양조건(培養條件)의 검토(檢討)- (Studies on Microbial Inulase (Part I) -A Study on the Isolation of an Inulase Producing strain and the Optimum Cultural Conditions for the Enzyme Production-)

  • 돼지감자 시료(試料)(Putrefactived and dry Jerusalem artichoke)로 부터 강력(强力)한 Inulin가수분해(加水分解) 효소(酵素)를 생산(生産)하는 Penicillium sp. I을 분리선발(分離選拔)하였고 본균(本菌)을 사용(使用)하여 효소생산(酵素生産)에 관(關)한 최적배양조건(最適培養條件)을 검토(檢討)하여 다음과 같은 결론(結論)을 얻었다. 1. Penicillium sp. I은 Inulase생산력(生産力)이 강(强)한 균주(菌株)이다. 2. 본균(本菌)의 Inulase생산(生産)을 위한 최적배양(最適培養) 조건(條件)을 Jerusalem artichokoke extract media와 Basal media의 두 배양기(培養基)에서 결정(決定) 하였다. 3. Jerusalem artichoke extract media에서 Basal media보다 Inulase생산력(生産力)이 높았다. 4. Inulase생산능(生産能)도 Jerusalem artichoke extract media에서는 4일(日) Basal media에서는 5일(日) 배양(培養)으로써 최고치(最高値)에 도달하였다. 5. Inulin농도(濃度), pH. 온도조건(溫度條件) Jerusalem artichoke extract media에서는 opt. temp $30^{\circ}COpt.$ pH 5.0, Opt. conc 4.0%(W/V)로 나타나고 Basal media에서는 Opt temp $30{\sim}33^{\circ}C$, Opt. pH $5.0{\sim}6.0$, Opt conc $1.0{\sim}1.5%(W/V)$ 6. 질소원(窒素源)으로서는 Corn Steep Liquir, Peptone, $(NH_4)_2HPO_4,\;NH_4H_2PO_4,\;(NH_4)_2SO_4$등이 량호(良好)하고 특히 유기질소원(有機窒素源)을 가(加)함으로써 Basal meaia에서 Inulase생산(生産)을 증가(增加)시켰다. 7. 당원(糖源)의 이용(利用)으로써는 Inulin이외(以外)의 제당(諸糖)은 Inulase생산(生産)에 영향(影響)을 미치지 않았다. 8. 금속(金屬) 염류(鹽類)의 이용(利用)은 KCI. $MgSO_4,\;FeSO_4$등이 Inulase생산(生産)을 증가(增加)시켰다.

Numerical investigation on effects of rotor control strategy and wind data on optimal wind turbine blade shape

  • Recently, the horizontal axis rotor performance optimizer (HARP_Opt) tool was developed in the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, USA. This innovative tool is becoming more popular in the wind turbine industry and in the field of academic research. HARP_Optwas developed on the basis of two fundamental modules, namely, WT_Perf, a performance evaluator computer code using the blade element momentum theory; and a genetic algorithm module, which is used as an optimizer. A pattern search algorithm was more recently incorporated to enhance the optimization capability, especially the calculation time and consistency of the solutions. The blade optimization is an aspect that is highly dependent on experience and requires significant consideration on rotor control strategies, wind data, and generator type. In this study, the effects of rotor control strategies including fixed speed and fixed pitch, variable speed and fixed pitch, fixed speed and variable pitch, and variable speed and variable pitch algorithms on optimal blade shapes and rotor performance are investigated using optimized blade designs. The effects of environmental wind data and the objective functions used for optimization are also quantitatively evaluated using the HARP_Opt tool. Performance indices such as annual energy production, thrust, torque, and roof-flap moment forces are compared.

비구면 프리즘 렌즈를 이용한 소형 경량의 EGD용 광학계 설계 및 제작 (Aspherical prism lens design and manufacture of a small size and light wight EGD)

  • Eye Glass Display (EGD) with microdisplay to realize the virtual display can make the large screen, so virtual image has been developed by using microdisplay panel. This paper shows study of spherical prism lens design and manufacture of a small size and light weigh EGD with 0.59" OLED panel. Code V is used and it designed an aspherical prism lens about eye relief 25mm and 42 degree of filed of view (FOV). With the application this aspheric prism lens to OLED type's microdisplay, virtual image showed 60 inch at 2m. It had less than 2% of distortion value and modulation transfer function in axial had 30% of resolution with 32 lp/mm spatial frequency. We made an injection molding bases to lens designed.

공조시스뎀 최적화를 통한 건물에너지 절감사례 연구 (A Case Study on the Building Energy Savings through HVAC System Optimization Process)

  • The requirements for the optimal building system design is numerous. However, most system designers do not take care of various design strategies. They often argue that the proper simulation tools are not existed to solve the implicated design requirements and the time to consider many alternatives of building systems are insufficient. The aim of this study is to develop the optimization interface program that considers various system design variables and eventually find both the optimal values of annual energy use and cost. Therefore, Doe2Opt is developed to easily perform simulation-optimization process based on DOE2 and GenOpt, and minimizes energy cost of small-to-medium sized building for 6.7% and that of large sized building for 3% with optimizing several HVAC system variables.
