  • This study proposed the approaches to business process redesign and business network redesign in e-business environment through the case analysis of e-Transformation performed in Kolon Gloteck, Inc. which has been managed and operated in a traditional mode. The proposed e-Transformation approaches of the traditional firm in this study were as following: 1) Network-focused business process redesign; 2) Introducing ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) as e-Business backbone; 3) Establishing transparence of business functions through using shared database; 4) Understanding customer and constructing IT(Information Technology) infrastructure for customer satisfaction; 5) Performing data and process standardization; 6) Applying the best suitable IT(Information Technology) such as JSP(Java Server Pages) and VPN(Virtual Private Network). The findings of this case study are thought to be useful as a practical guideline in carrying, out e-Transformation of the typical traditional firm and to provide significant basis for constructing the theoretical framework of e-Transformation methodology.

  • Transportation is from an individual mobility. Various efforts to propose specific values or the individual mobility have been conducted in diverse transportation environment. However, mobility studies for multimodal public transportation are rare especially on not the range of line but area. This study propose a method to calculate transit mobility indices as expanding mobility analysis from point-to-point to area-to-area, considering access time to transit facility, running time and transfer time of passengers. To extract mobility indices, we included walking as a lowest category of mode and set passenger car as a competitive mode to transit mode. This study propose three public transportation mobility indices as 1) how competitive public transportation facility is offered against passenger car 2) how convenient transit mode including walking is provided against passenger car from origin to destination and 3) how many various paths are presented to support passenger's travel between regions. These indices are tested on the Seoul metropolitan area with 10 lines of urban rail and about 420 lines of bus. In addition, we proposed two political applications of proposed mobility indices to increase public transportation mobility between two regions and to maximize the mobility of study area when a line is added in the area.

  • IEEE 802.11 Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) adopts Power Saving Mode(PSM) to save the power. Unlike existing PSM, this paper proposes a new scheme for the power saving of the Mobile Host(MH) when a MH performs the data transmission after the competition-based DCF(Distributed Coordination Function) and competition free-based PCF(Point Coordination Function). In this paper, The proposed scheme estimates the distance between the MH with the authority of data transmission and the Access Point(AP) and then adaptively controls the power of the MH considering the distance. Through the simulation result, we find that the proposed scheme consumes the smaller transmission power and has the similar success rate of packet transmission when it is compared to the existing scheme which uses the same power without the consideration of the distance.

  • This study examined the social capital and geographical gaps of local television stations using web data gathered through website crawling. URLs for 16 local MBC websites were collected. MBC is an abbreviation for Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation, one of South Korea's largest television and radio broadcasters. Munhwa is a Sino-Korean term that means "culture." It initially determined which institutions local broadcasting stations were linked to using a Web Impact Report. To investigate the specific connection type, URL information was classified using the n-tuple helix model, followed by 2-mode network analysis. The n-tuple helix model is an analysis method that extends the standard university-business-government triple-helix model by including a new network innovation originator. As a result, local broadcasting stations relied heavily on activities like as festivals, performances, and exhibitions to engage the local community. Local stations in Daegu-Gyeongbuk area and the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam area were identified as having the most diverse connections to the local population among other regions.

  • Packet transmission and independent addressing in the mobile environments are very similar to the ones in the multicasting environment. So, in this paper, we propose a new scheme about how to manage the multicasting group and to set the communication path in the mobile environment by applying two-level addressing mode, which is similar to mobile If, for location-independent address setting. And we propose the smooth handoff scheme that minimizes the handoff delay for mobile multimedia services. To check the performance of our proposed scheme, we modified the NS-2 network simulator and as a result, we showed that our proposed scheme is better than other techniques in terms of handoff delay and transmitted packets' throughput.

  • The main issue in mobile cloud computing is how to support a seamless service to a mobile mode. Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) is a mobility supporting protocol which is standardized by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). Mobile IPv6 fast handovers (FMIPv6) is the extension of MIPv6 which is proposed to overcome shortcomings of MIPv6. Recently, fast handovers for Mobile IPv6 over IEEE 802.16e which is one of broadband wireless access systems has been proposed by the IETF. It was designed for supporting cross-layer fast handover. In this paper, we propose an enhanced cross-layering mobile IPv6 fast handover over IEEE 802.16e networks. In our scheme, a new access router generates a new address for the mobile node by using a layer 2 trigger. We utilize a layer 2 message which is sent from a new base station to the new access router in order to inform the new access router of information of the mobile node. A previous access router sends a binding update message to the mobile node's home agent when it acquires the new address of the mobile node. We evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme compared with the existing schemes in terms of the signaling cost and the handover latency. From the results, we observe that the proposed scheme can support fast handover effectively over IEEE 802.16e networks than existing schemes.

  • The purpose of this study is to find the research trends relating to flipped learning through keyword network analysis. For investigating this topic, final 100 papers (removed due to overlap in all 205 papers) were selected as subjects from the result of research databases such as RISS, DBPIA, and KISS. After keyword extraction, coding, and data cleaning, we made a 2-mode network with final 202 keywords. In order to find out the research trends, frequency analysis, social network structural property analysis based on co-keyword network modeling, and social network centrality analysis were used. Followings were the results of the research: (a) Achievement, writing, blended learning, teaching and learning model, learner centered education, cooperative leaning, and learning motivation, and self-regulated learning were found to be the most common keywords except flipped learning. (b) Density was .088, and geodesic distance was 3.150 based on keyword network type 2. (c) Teaching and learning model, blended learning, and satisfaction were centrally located and closed related to other keywords. Satisfaction, teaching and learning model blended learning, motivation, writing, communication, and achievement were playing an intermediary role among other keywords.

  • The quickest path problem deals with the transmission of a message of size ${\sigma}$ from a source to a destination with the minimum end to end delay over a network with bandwidth and delay constraints on the links. We consider two basic modes and four variations for the message delivery at the nodes reflecting the mechanisms such as circuit switching. Internet protocol, and their combinations, For each of first five modes, we present O($m^2+mnlogn$) algorithm to compute the quickest path for a given message size ${\sigma}$, For the last mode, the quickest path can be computed in O(m+nlogn) time.

  • This study attempts to analyze the critical issues of globalization and present an alternative framework that places ICT in the function of development in comparative perspective. To adjudicate the controversies concerning the effect of developmental factors, it examines the determinants of global trend that leads to the comprehensive mechanism of ICT and cultural residues. The advent of the global community in cyber space requires a new balancing point by the mode of communication and culture among all societies and operation with decentralized authority. This interdependence, by providing diverse network structures and participating in cyberspace, includes the power shift from the dynamics of international relations with voluntary collaboration and brings some important implications for a global empathetic society.
