Development of SIP based Call Processing Language Server System (SIP기반 호 처리 언어(CPL) 서버 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) is a suitable protocol for supporting Internet telephony services and currently market requirements fur developing supplementary telephony services such as unconditional call forwarding, call forwarding on busy or no answer, call filtering services have recently grown. CPL(Call Processing Language) is a standard technology that can be used to describe and control internet telephony services. In this paper, we describe the CPL system for supplementary Internet telephony services using SIP as an application level call signaling protocol. Those supplementary services are composed of CPL client which is a SIP UA, SIP Proxy server, Registrar and CPL server In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of the CPL server system in detail which is developed in Linux 7.2 using C and C++ programming languages.

Wireless u-PC: Personal workspace on an Wireless Network Storage (Wireless u-PC : 무선 네트워크 스토리지를 이용한 개인 컴퓨팅 환경의 이동성을 지원하는 서비스)

  • The personal workspace consists of user- specified computing environment such as user profile, applications and their configurations, and user data. Mobile computing devices (i.e., cellular phones, PDAs, laptop computers, and Ultra Mobile PC) are getting smaller and lighter to provide personal work-space ubiquitously. However, various personal work-space mobility solutions (c.f. VMWare Pocket ACE[1], Mojopac[2], u-PC[3], etc.) are appeared with the advance of virtualization technology and portable storage technology. The personal workspace can be loaded at public PC using above solutions. Especially, we proposed a framework called ubiquitous personal computing environment (u-PC) that supports mobility of personal workspace based on wireless iSCSI network storage in our previous work. However, previous u-PC could support limited applications, because it uses IRP (I/O Request Packet) forwarding technique at filter driver level on Windows operating system. In this paper, we implement OS-level virtualization technology using system call hooking on Windows operating system. It supports personal workspace mobility and covers previous u-PC limitation. Also, it overcomes personal workspace loading overhead that is limitation of other solutions (i.e., VMWare Pocket ACE, Mojopac, etc). We implement a prototype consisting of Windows XP-based host PC and Linux-based mobile device connected via WiNET protocol of UWB. We leverage several use~case models of our framework for proving its usability.

A Hierarchical Underwater Acoustic Sensor Network Architecture Utilizing AUVs' Optimal Trajectory Movements (수중 무인기의 최적 궤도 이동을 활용하는 계층적 수중 음향 센서 네트워크 구조)

  • Compared to terrestrial RF communications, underwater acoustic communications have several limitations such as limited bandwidth, high level of fading effects, and a large underwater propagation delay. In this paper, in order to tackle those limitations of underwater communications and to make it possible to form a large underwater monitoring systems, we propose a hierarchical underwater network architecture, which consists of underwater sensors, clusterheads, underwater/surface sink nodes, autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). In the proposed architecture, for the maximization of packet delivery ratio and the minimization of underwater sensor's energy consumption, a hybrid routing protocol is used. More specifically, cluster members use Tree based routing to transmit sensing data to clusterheads. AUVs on optimal trajectory movements collect the aggregated data from clusterhead and finally forward the data to the sink node. Also, in order to minimize the maximum travel distance of AUVs, an Integer Linear Programming based algorithm is employed. Performance analysis through simulations shows that the proposed architecture can achieve a higher data delivery ratio and lower energy consumption than existing routing schemes such as gradient based routing and geographical forwarding. QoS Test in Diff-Serv Network using COPS (COPS기반 Diff-Serv 망에서의 QoS 테스트)

  • 본 논문에서는 인터넷 QoS(Quality of Service)보장을 위하여 제안된 Diff-Serv(Differentiated Service)모델을 구현하고, QoS 를 보장하지 않는 BE(Best Effort)서비스와 우선 순위가 높은 패킷을 처리하여 QoS 를 보장하는 EF(Expedited Forwarding) 서비스의 차이를 통하여 Diff-Serv 망의 우수성을 입증하고자 한다. Diff-Serv 망은 BB(Bandwidth Broker)와 에지라우터 그리고 다수의 코어라우터로 구성된다. BB 로부터 라우터에 QoS Policy를 전송하기 위하여 COPS(Common Open Policy Service) 프로토콜을 구현하였으며, 사용자와 BB 사이의 SLAT/RAR(Service Level Agreement/Resource Allocation Request)를 처리하기 위하여 Admission Control 이라는 명명한 자체 프로토콜을 개발하였다. 구현된 Diff-Serv 망에서 QoS 보장 테스트를 위하여 19.2Mbps 대역폭이 요구되는 HDTV 스트리밍 서비스를 이용하여 인위적으로 Background Traffic 을 발생시켰을 때, BE 서비스만을 지원하는 망에서는 현저하게 서비스의 질이 떨어지는 반면에 Diff-Serv 망에서는 QoS가 보장됨을 알 수 있었다.

An Empirical Assessment of Competency Requirements for Logistics Managers of Freight Forwarding Companies (복합운송주선업 물류관리자의 자격요건에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this research is to identify the competencies required by freight forwarding company logistics managers or supply chain managers. And this research also attempts to show their relative importance and key knowledge areas that require improvement. Using a survey questionnaire, data was collected against forty three logistics and supply chain management skills or competencies, which were then grouped into four categories and analysed. The Analysis revealed that supply chain awareness, ability to make decisions, analytical skill, communication skill, supply chain cost, people skill, and integration of internal or external information flow which belong to logistics planning group are considered the most important competencies for effective and efficient logistics functioning. On the other hand, reverse logistics and IATA regulations from environmental awareness group show little influence on logistics managers for improving their logistics performances. The results have implications for a variety of parties including prospective logisticians, students, teachers and companies considering expanding their business to Chinese market. For example, the results permit companies to employ appropriate logistics managers who are qualified with sufficient skills and competencies suggested in this research. In the case of practitioners, the results provide a benchmark for comparison with their current level of abilities and suggested competencies.

Bit-Map Based Hybrid Fast IP Lookup Technique (비트-맵 기반의 혼합형 고속 IP 검색 기법)

  • This paper presents an efficient hybrid technique to compact the trie indexing the huge forward table small enough to be stored into cache for speeding up IP lookup. It combines two techniques, an encoding scheme called bit-map and a controlled-prefix expanding scheme to replace slow memory search with few fast-memory accesses and computations. For compaction, the bit-map represents each index and child pointer with one bit respectively. For example, when one node denotes n bits, the bit-map gives a high compression rate by consumes $2^{n-1}$ bits for $2^n$ index and child link pointers branched out of the node. The controlled-prefix expanding scheme determines the number of address bits represented by all root node of each trie's level. At this time, controlled-prefix scheme use a dynamic programming technique to get a smallest trie memory size with given number of trie's level. This paper proposes standard that can choose suitable trie structure depending on memory size of system and the required IP lookup speed presenting optimal memory size and the lookup speed according to trie level number.

A Case for Using Service Availability to Characterize IP Backbone Topologies

  • Traditional service-level agreements (SLAs), defined by average delay or packet loss, often camouflage the instantaneous performance perceived by end-users. We define a set of metrics for service availability to quantify the performance of Internet protocol (IP) backbone networks and capture the impact of routing dynamics on packet forwarding. Given a network topology and its link weights, we propose a novel technique to compute the associated service availability by taking into account transient routing dynamics and operational conditions, such as border gateway protocol (BGP) table size and traffic distributions. Even though there are numerous models for characterizing topologies, none of them provide insights on the expected performance perceived by end customers. Our simulations show that the amount of service disruption experienced by similar networks (i.e., with similar intrinsic properties such as average out-degree or network diameter) could be significantly different, making it imperative to use new metrics for characterizing networks. In the second part of the paper, we derive goodness factors based on service availability viewed from three perspectives: Ingress node (from one node to many destinations), link (traffic traversing a link), and network-wide (across all source-destination pairs). We show how goodness factors can be used in various applications and describe our numerical results.

  • Track drive unit adopted in the small sized excavator generally have been used in the construction equipment under the 10 tons as the driving device with forwarding and reversing of excavator. It is required to study the accelerated life test applied by over torque and speed to test the durability life test reflected the many driving modes of small sized excavator and also need to equip the comprehensive performance and life test equipments to do the various performance tests. This study had analyzed the failure modes of the components, and calculated the equivalent loads investigated the used loads in the real field conditions and elicits the acceleration factor adopted in the inverse power model. Also, this study have considered the changes of the acceleration factor and the durability test time in the case of the rotary group and the bearing through analyzing the main failure modes. It was calculated the no failure test time about 2 samples and confidence level 90% and elicited the accelerated life time 720 hours.

Implementation of Optimizing Compiler for Bus-based VLIW Processors (버스기반의 VLIW형 프로세서를 위한 최적화 컴파일러 구현)

  • Modern microprocessors exploit instruction-level parallel processing to increase the performance. Especially VLIW processors supported by the parallelizing compiler are used more and more in specific applications such as high-end DSP and graphic processing. Bus-based VLIW architecture was proposed for these specific applications and it was designed to reduce the overhead of forwarding unit and the instruction width. In this paper, a optimizing scheduling compiler developed for the proposed bus-based VLIW processor is introduced. First, the method to model interconnections between buses and resource usage patterns is described. Then, on the basis of the modeling, machine-dependent optimization techniques such as bus-to-register promotion, copy coalescing and operand substitution were implemented. Optimization techniques for general-purpose VLIW microprocessors such as selective scheduling and enhanced pipelining scheduling(EPS) were also implemented. The experiment result shows about 20% performance gain for multimedia application benchmarks.

  • A sensor network is an important element of the ubiquitous and it consists of sensor fields that contain sensor nodes and sink nodes that collect data from sensor nodes. Since each sensor node has limited resources, one of the important issues covered in the past sensor network studies has been maximizing the usage of limited energy to extend network lifetime. However, most studies have only considered fixed sink nodes, which created various problems for cases with multiple mobile sink nodes. Accordingly, while maintaining routes to mobile sink nodes, this study aims to deploy the hybrid communication mode that combines single and multi-hop modes for intra-cluster and inter-cluster transmission to resolve the problem of failed data transmission to mobile sink nodes caused by disconnected routes. Furthermore, a 2-level hierarchical routing protocol was used to reduce the number of sensor nodes participating in data transmission, and cross-shape trajectory forwarding was employed in packet transmission to provide an efficient data dissemination method.
