The technology and concept of multimedia expands with the rapid growth of Digital technology. Digital broadcasting has already begun and movie industry is also switching the way of visualization from analog to digital. Image compositing is the core of the computer graphics related multimedia technology. Currently, various computer graphic technologies are being developed. Nevertheless, image compositing are being done manually because of not only the expensiveness image compositing equipments, but also the lack of experts in this area. This paper present a new image compositing technique for 3-Dimensional graphics and digital sources. A 2-Dimensional subject which will be used as a background was expanded into a 3-Dimensional by using the tracking technique. Thereafter, Effective image compositing has been obtained by precisely cooperating digital source images and 3-Dimensional model using 3-Dimensional graphics editing tool.

The purpose of this study is augmentation of heat transfer without additional power in the case of rectangular air jet which impinges vertically on the heating surface. The experimental results are obtained heat transfer augmentation of a two-dimensional impinging jet using the surface roughness of transverse repeated-rib type. The integral average heat transfer coefficient of ribbed plate is about two times larger than that of flat plate. In order to supplement the information about the mechanism of heat transfer augmentation, the flow structure in the stagnation region is visually studied by using the smoke wire technique. The heat transfer augmentation is due to the effect of stretching of large scale vortex in the stagnation region.
It is very useful to perform the surgery simulation before implanting TAH(Total Artificial Heart} in a patient. The space of chest and the shape of vessels are different from patient to patient. So, It is desirable to customize a TAH design to the anatomy structure of a patient. Several studies are performed to visualize and explain the 3D structure of heart. These studies are performed using 2-dimensional ref or mated images and simple measurement. Anatomy structure of a human heart is not so simple. It is 4dimensional structure ; 3-dimensional plus time, heart beating. 3-dimensional reconstruction schemes of medical images developed for about 10 years are usually categorized into two types of rendering technique ; surface rendering and volume rendering. Volume rendering is preferable in medical image processing field because this technique can be applied without considering the complexity of geometry and change of field of interest. The usable space in the chest of patient can be measured by 3D volume matching of patient trunk and TAH model. This space changes with time. In this research we have developed the 4-dimensional volume match program of patient and TAH model. 3-dimensional rendered set of volumes along time were used to simulate TAH fitting trial. The quantitative measurement from this simulation could be applied to customize TAH design.
In the present study, flow visualizations, hot-wire velocity measurements and computational fluid dynamics were performed in order to determine complicated air flow characteristics in a neonate incubator. In this study, following conclusions can be made: (1) The flow visualization technique developed in the present study revealed an enough qualitative information for the flow field in the neonate incubator. Flow structures in a neonate incubator with a realistic three-dimensional shape was successfully visualized the present study. (2) Results from the flow visualization were relatively in good agreements with those obtained from the computational fluid dynamics. (3) Velocities very near the neonate measured by the hot-wire anemometer were relevant to those obtained from the computational fluid dynamics. (4) Temperatures were higher at the neck region and the medial aspect of both thighs, but lower in both extremities. (5) Small vortices between the neonate and the mattress might interfere with convective and evaporative heat transfers on the neonate's surface. In the fluid dynamic aspect, it is important to eliminate the formation of these small vortices for the design of incubator chamber.

As pipelines are often used to transport gas, oil, water and oil products, there are more than one pipeline installed in the offshore field. The size and space of pipelines are various depending on the design specifications. The pipelines are to be designed and installed to secure the stability to external loads during the installation and operation period. The flow patterns are very complex around the pipelines being dependent on incoming flow velocity, pipelines size and space. To investigate the flow patterns, number of experiment are conducted with visualization equipment in a circulating water channel. The flow motion and trajectory were recorded from the laser reflected particles by camera. From the experiment the flow patterns around spaced pipelines were obtained. Also pressure gradient was measured by mano-meter to estimate the hydrodynamic forces on the behind pipeline. The results show that the various sizes and spaces can be affected in the estimation of external load. The complex flow patterns and pressure gradients can be effectively used in the understanding of flow motion and pressure gradient.

Delauuany triangulation which is the dual of Dirichlet tessellation is not affine invariant. In other words, the triangulation is dependent upon the choice of the coordinate axes used to represent the vertices. In the same reason, Delahanty tetrahedrization does not have an affine iveariant transformation property. In this paper, we present a new type of tetrahedrization of spacial points sets which is unaffected by translations, scalings, shearings and rotations. An affine invariant tetrahedrization is discussed as a means of affine invariant 2 -D triangulation extended to three-dimensional tetrahedrization. A new associate norm between two points in 3-D space is defined. The visualization of the structure of tetrahedrization can discriminate between Delaunay tetrahedrization and affine invariant tetrahedrization.
Direct numerical simulation (DNS) dataset of a turbulent boundary layer (TBL) with a step change from smooth to rough surface is analyzed to examine spatially developing flow characteristics. The roughness elements are periodically arranged two-dimensional (2-D) spanwise rods with a streamwise pitch of ${\lambda}=8k$ ($=12{\theta}_{in}$), and the roughness height is $k=15{\theta}_{in}$, where ${\theta}_{in}$ is the inlet momentum thickness. The step change is introduced $80{\theta}_{in}$ downstream from the inlet. For the first time, full images from the DNS data with the step change from the smooth to rough walls is present to get some idea of the geometry of turbulent coherent structures over rough wall, especially focusing on their existence and partial dynamics over the rough wall. The results show predominance of hairpin vortices over the rough wall and their spanwise scale growth mechanism by merging.

Conventional CT and MRI scans produce cross-section slices of body that are viewed sequentially by radiologists who must imagine or extrapolate from these views what the 3 dimensional anatomy should be. By using sophisticated algorithm and high performance computing, these cross-sections may be rendered as direct 3D representations of human anatomy. The 2D medical image analysis forced to use time-consuming, subjective, error-prone manual techniques, such as slice tracing and region painting, for extracting regions of interest. To overcome the drawbacks of 2D medical image analysis, combining with medical image processing, 3D visualization is essential for extracting anatomical structures and making measurements. We used the gray-level thresholding, region growing, contour following, deformable model to segment human organ and used the feature vectors from texture analysis to detect harmful cancer. We used the perspective projection and marching cube algorithm to render the surface from volumetric MR and CT image data. The 3D visualization of human anatomy and segmented human organ provides valuable benefits for radiation treatment planning, surgical planning, surgery simulation, image guided surgery and interventional imaging applications.
Information visualization, generally speaking, consists of three steps: transform from raw data to data model, visual mapping from data model to visual structure, and transform from visual structure to information model. In this paper, we propose a visual mapping method from spatiotemporal table information, which is related to events in large-scale building, to 3D map metaphor. The process has also three steps as follows. First, after analyzing the table attributes, we carefully define a context to fully represent the table-information. Second, we choose meaningful attribute sets from the context. Third, each meaningful attribute set is mapped to one well defined visual structure. Our method has several advantages. First, users can intuitively achieve non-spatial information through the 3D map which is a powerful spatial metaphor. Second, this system shows various visual mapping method applicable to other data models in the form of table, especially GIS. After describing the whole concept of our visual mapping, we will show the results of implementation for several requests.
