This paper proposes an analytical method to investigate the free vibration behaviour of new functionally graded (FG) carbon nanotubes reinforced composite beams based on a higher-order shear deformation theory. Cosine functions represent the material gradation and material properties via the thickness. The kinematic relations of the beam are proposed according to trigonometric functions. The equilibrium equations are obtained using the virtual work principle and solved using Navier's method. A comparative evaluation of results against predictions from literature demonstrates the accuracy of the proposed analytical model. Moreover, a detailed parametric analysis checks for the sensitivity of the vibration response of FG nanobeams to nonlocal length scale, strain gradient microstructure-scale, material distribution and geometry.
A spiting reinforcement system is composed of a series of radially installed reinforcing spites along the perimeter of the tunnel opening ahead of excavation. The reinforcing spill network is extended into the in-situ soil mass both radially and longitudinally The sailing reinforcement system has been successfully used for the construction of underground openings to reinforce weak rock formations on several occasions. The application of this spiting reinforcement system is currently extended to soft ground tunneling in limited occasions because of lack of reliable analysis and design methods. A method of threetimensional limit equilibrium stability analysis of the smile-reinforced shallow tunnel in soft ground is presented. The shape of the potential failure wedge for the case of smile-reinforced shallow tunnel is assumed on the basis of the results of three dimensional finite element analyses. A criterion to differentiate the spill-reinforced shallow tunnel from the smile-reinforced deep tunnel is also formulated, where the tunnel depth, soil type, geometry of the tunnel and reinforcing spites, together with soil arching effects, are considered. To examine the suitability of the proposed method of threedimensional stability analysis in practice, overall stability of the spill-reinforced shallow tunnel at facing is evaluated, and the predicted safety factors are compared with results from twotimensional analyses. Using the proposed method of threetimensional limit equilibrium stability analysis of the smile-reinforced shallow tunnel in soft ground, a parametric study is also made to investigate the effects of various design parameters such as tunnel depth, smile length and wadial spill spacing. With slight modifications the analytical method of threeiimensional stability analysis proposed may also be extended for the analysis and design of steel pipe reinforced multi -step grouting technique frequently used as a supplementary reinforcing method in soft ground tunnel construction.
The moment analysis of lysozyme was implemented using chromatograms that were obtained from weak cation exchange column in high performance liquid chromatography system. Three elution sodium phosphate buffers containing 1.0, 0.75, 0.5M sodium chloride were used. Experiments were conducted by varying flow rate, elution sodium chloride concentration, and lysozyme solute concentration. The general rate (GR) model was employed to calculate the first moment and the second moment. By plotting $L/u_0$ vs. $({\mu}_1-t_0)/(1-{\varepsilon}_e)(1-{\varepsilon}_i)$] equilibrium constants (K) were obtained from first moment analysis. Intra-particle diffusivity was obtained from theoretical plate number data. Based on the results of moment analysis, van Deemter plots were drawn in order to investigate the contributions of $H_{ax}$, $H_f$, and $H_d$ to total Height Equivalent to a Theoretical Plate (HETP, $H_{total}$). The effect of intra-particle diffusion ($H_d$) was the most dominant factor contributing to HETP while external mass transfer ($H_f$) was negligible factor.
This paper presents an improved initial force method for determining the initial shape of suspension bridges. After determining the initial shape factors through the force equilibrium conditions of each hanging point, the initial force method was applied with the computed values, each node's coordinates, and unstrained lengths of the cable element as inputs. The unstrained length of each cable element was regarded as a fixed value in each iteration step, unlike in the typical initial force method. This method can be applied to 2D and 3D suspension bridge models. The validity of the present method was demonstrated by comparing the results of the numerical examples.

In this study, a newly modified soil nailing technology named as the SPN (Spiral Pipe Nailing) system, is developed to self drilling method can apply to ground which is hard to keep shape of bore hole. And limit equilibrium analysis with simplified trial wedge method while length ratio and bond ratio being altered was performed to evaluate slope stability considered of tensile strength and bending stiffness. Also, using $FLAC^{2D}$ program, superiority of the SPN system was compared to the GSN (General Soil Nailing) system about an example section. And effects of various factors related to the design of the SPN system, such as the type of drilling method and the bit, are examined throughout a series of the displacement-controlled field pull-out tests. As a result, the SPN system is better than the GSN system in slope stability because of having larger bending stiffness, tensile strength and unit skin friction. And results of simplified trial wedge method are similar to results of TALREN 97 program, commercial limit equilibrium analysis computer software, about an example section. Consequently, it will find out of that the SPN system reduce displacements and settlements in down excavation process as well as to increase the global stability.

The aim of this study is to develop a simulation model for analyzing 2D truss structure using Generic Agricultural System Simulator (GASS). Although the truss is simple structure, numerical methods based on matrix analysis are cumbersome and complicated. This study suggests simple and convenient methods to remove calculating steps for whole stiffness matrices. The simulation environment based on independency of object-oriented components on GASS consists of component development and component deploy stages. A component for a truss structure is implemented based on equilibrium equations at nodes. The simulator can analyze truss structures through deploying components with attributes and links. The examples using GASS show intuitive graphical results of the movements of truss nodes.
A study on the solvent extraction for the recovery of Li from lithium-containing waste solution was investigated using $D_2EHPA$ as an extractant. The experimental parameters, such as the pH of the aqueous solution, concentration of extractant and phase ratio were observed. Experimental results showed that the extraction percentage of Li was increased with increasing the equilibrium pH. More than 50% of Li was extracted in eq. pH 6.0 by 20% $D_2EHPA$. From the analysis of McCabe-Thiele diagram, 95% of Li was extracted by four extraction stage at phase ratio(O/A) of 3.0. Stripping of Li from the loaded organic phases can be accomplished by sulfuric acid as a stripping reagent and 90 ~ 120 g/L of $H_2SO_4$ was effective for the stripping of Li. Finially, Li was concentrated about 11.85 g/L by continuous stripping process, and then lithium carbonate was prepared by precipitation method.
The chemical and biological reaction of the aquatic organism is closely related with temperature variation and water temperature is one of the most important factors that should be considered in establishing sustainable reservoir operation scheme to minimize adverse environmental impacts related with dam construction. This paper investigates temperature variation in the downstream of Yongdam Reservoir using sampled data collected from total 8 temperature monitoring stations placed along the main river and the major tributaries. Using KoRiv1, 1-dimensional dynamic water quality simulation model, temperature variation in the downstream of Yongdam Reservoir has been simulated. The simulated results were compared with sampled data collected from May 15 to August 1 2008 by applying two different temperature modeling schemes, equilibrium temperature and full heat budget method. From the result of statistical analysis, seasonal temperature variation has been simulated by applying the equilibrium temperature scheme for comparison of the difference between the reservoir operation and the natural conditions.

In order to obtain mono-dispersed Fe NPs with high saturation magnetization, quantitative analysis method to investigate the growth dynamics of the Fe NPs synthesized by a conventional thermal decomposition method has been developed. As a result, fast nucleation process promotes formation of ~4 nm of initial nucleus with a non-equilibrium phase, resulting in low saturation magnetization. And slow particle growth with atomic-scaled surface precipitation mode (< 100 atoms/($min{\cdot}nm^2$)) can form the growth layer on the surface of initial nucleus with high saturation magnetization (~190 emu/$g_{Fe}$) as an equilibrium a phase of Fe. Therefore, higher stabilization of small initial nucleus generated just after the injection of $Fe(CO)_5$ should be one of the key issues to achieve much higher $M_s$ of Fe NPs.

The ability of dead cells of endophytic Drechslera hawaiiensis of Morus alba L. grown in heavy metals habitats for bioremoval of cadmium ($Cd^{2+}$), copper ($Cu^{2+}$), and lead ($Pb^{2+}$) in aqueous solution was evaluated under different conditions. Whereas the highest extent of $Cd^{2+}$ and $Cu^{2+}$ removal and uptake occurred at pH 8 as well as $Pb^{2+}$ occurred at neutral pH (6-7) after equilibrium time 10 min. Initial concentration 30 mg/L of $Cd^{+2}$ for 10 min contact time and 50 to 90 mg/L of $Pb^{2+}$ and $Cu^{2+}$ supported the highest biosorption after optimal contact time of 30 min achieved with biomass dose equal to 5 mg of dried died biomass of D. hawaiiensis. The maximum removal of $Cd^{2+}$, $Cu^{2+}$, and $Pb^{2+}$ equal to 100%, 100%, and 99.6% with uptake capacity estimated to be 0.28, 2.33, and 9.63 mg/g from real industrial wastewater, respectively were achieved within 3 hr contact time at pH 7.0, 7.0, and 6.0, respectively by using the dead biomass of D. hawaiiensis compared to 94.7%, 98%, and 99.26% removal with uptake equal to 0.264, 2.3, and 9.58 mg/g of $Cd^{2+}$, $Cu^{2+}$, and $Pb^{2+}$, respectively with the living cells of the strain under the same conditions. The biosorbent was analyzed by Fourier Transformer Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) analysis to identify the various functional groups contributing in the sorption process. From FT-IR spectra analysis, hydroxyl and amides were the major functional groups contributed in biosorption process. It was concluded that endophytic D. hawaiiensis biomass can be used potentially as biosorbent for removing $Cd^{2+}$, $Cu^{2+}$, and $Pb^{2+}$ in aqueous solutions.
