장석의 첨가가 육계의 성장 및 체조성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Dietary Feldspar on Growth Performance and Body Composition in Broiler Chicks)

  • 본 연구는 장석의 첨가가 육계의 성장 및 체조성에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구하였다. 공시동물은 Ross broiler 120 수로 5 처리 4 반복 반복당 6수씩 사양시험을 실시하였다. 처리구는 대조구, 항생제 첨가구, 장석 0.5, 1.0, 1.5% 첨가구로 배치하였다. 6주간의 사육시험 결과에서 증체량은 장석 1.5% 첨가구가 각각 2,088 g으로 가장 높게 나타났으며, 사료 섭취량 역시 장석 첨가구인 1.5% 첨가구가 3,678 g으로 대조구 3,243 g보다 높은 섭취량을 보였다(P<0.05). 사료 요구율은 장석 1.0% 첨가구가 1.80으로 높았으며, 대조구가 1.69으로 가장 낮아 통계적인 유의차를 보였다(P<0.05). 도체의 체조 성 분석에서 조지방 함량은 대조구가 15.44%으로 가장 높았으며, 장석 0.5% 첨가구가 7.29%으로 낮은 함량을 보였다(P< 0.05). 도체의 TBA 는 대조구가 $0.35{\mu}mol/100g$으로 가장 높게 나타났으며, 장석 0.5%, 1.0% 및 1.5% 첨가구는 각각 $0.13{\mu}mol/100g$으로 낮게 나타나 통계적인 유의차를 보였다(P< 0.05). 혈중 cholesterol 함량은 대조구 103 mg/dL 보다 장석 1.0 % 첨가구에서 134 mg/dL로 높은 수치를 보였으며, 통계적으로 유의차가 있었다(P<0.05).

Garnet $Y_{2.5}La_{0.5}Fe_5O_{12}$의 Mossbauer 분광학 연구 (Mossbauer Spectroscopy Studies of Garnet $Y_{2.5}La_{0.5}Fe_5O_{12}$)

  • 자성 garnet Y2.5La0.5Fe5O12의 분말을 ethylene glycol을 용매로 이용한 sol-gel방식으로 합성하였다. 시료의 결정학적 및 자기적 성질을 x선 회절기(XRD), 진동시료 자화기(VSM), 그리고 Mossbauer 분광기를 이용하여 연구하였다. 분말의 경우 100$0^{\circ}C$에서 단일상의 garnet결정을 얻었으며 결정구조는 cubic구조이며 격자상수는 12.415$\AA$이었다. Mossbauer spectrum은 13K부터 700K까지 측정하였으며 Fe는 모두 +3가 상태로 16(a)와 24(d)site에 존재함을 확인하였다. spin wave 상수는 B3/2=0.32$\pm$0.05, C5/2=0.18$\pm$0.05였으며, Debye 온도는 24(d)site인 경우 382K 그리고 16(a) site인 경우 246K였다. VSM 실험으로부터 상온에서 포화 자화값(Ms)은 25emu/g이었다.

말기암환자에서 혈중 비타민 D 농도와 생존기간과의 관련성 (Relationship between Vitamin D Level and Survival in Terminally III Cancer Patients)

  • 목적: 국내 말기암환자를 대상으로 혈중 vitamin D 농도를 측정하고, 생존기간과의 관련성에 대하여 확인해 본다. 방법: 2012년 5월부터 15개월 동안, 국내 일개 병원의 말기암환자 96명을 대상으로 후향적 의무기록 조사를 시행하였다. Vitamin D 결핍에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 파악하기 위해 단순 로지스틱 회귀분석과 다중 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였고, vitamin D가 생존기간에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위해 다변수 분석으로 Cox's proportional hazard regression analysis를 실시하였다. 결과: 대상자의 평균 연령은 $67.06{\pm}13.77$세였고, 모든 대상자가 ECOG PS 3점 이상이었으며 혈중25(OH)D 농도는 평균 $8.60{\pm}7.16ng/ml$였다. 3명(3.1%)만이 vitamin D 충분상태(혈중 25(OH)D 농도${\geq}30ng/ml$)였으며, 5명은 vitamin D 상대적결핍상태(혈중 25(OH) 농도 20~30 ng/ml)였고, 13명(13.5%)은 vitamin D 결핍(혈중 25(OH)D 농도 10~20 ng/ml), 75명(78.1%)은 vitamin D 중증결핍상태(혈중 25(OH)D<10 ng/ml) 였다. 혈중 빌리루빈 농도가 1.2 mg/dl 이상인 경우 vitamin D 중증결핍과 관련이 있었다(Odds ratio, OR=5.041; P=0.039). 혈중 빌리루빈 농도가 높을수록 혈중 vitamin D 농도가 낮았으며, 고빌리루빈혈증인 환자는 vitamin D 중증결핍에 속할 위험이 더 크고(OR=18.476, P<0.05), 중앙생존기간도 유의하게 짧았다. Vitamin D 중증결핍인 경우 추정된 중앙생존기간은 짧았으나 통계적 유의성은 없었다. 다변량 분석결과에서 vitamin D 중증결핍은 사망의 위험인자가 아니었다. 결론: 말기암환자에서 혈중 vitamin D 결핍은 매우 심각하였으나, vitamin D 중증결핍이 생존기간에 영향을 미치지는 않았다.

남강유역 지류·지천별 영향도 평가 (The Estimation of Contribution Ratio for Sub Stream in Nam River Basin)

  • The relations between tributaries and mainstream were identified with the water qualities measurements in the field. Parameters of water qualities were BOD, T-N, T-P and measurements were performed by 4 events of rainfalls for 2011. The precipitation data influenced on pollutants loads. Pollutants loads were fluctuations with the seasonal variation. Gajoacheon contributed in 18.39% of BOD, 23.79% of T-N, 15.23% of T-P and Nabulcheon contributed in 13.54% of BOD, 13.05% of T-N and 13.66% of T-P in the region from Nam River_C to Nam River_D. In case of the region from Nam River_C to Nam River_D, Yongacheon river inflowed to main stream as 23.65% of BOD, 20.74% of T-N, and 15.05% of T-P.

식품착색료가 ${\alpha}$-Chymotrypsin 작용에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Coloring Food Additives on the ${\alpha}$-Chymotrypsin Activity)

  • 단백질 분해효소인 ${\alpha}$-chymotrypsin이 식품발색제의 존재하에 어떻게 oligopeptide에 작용하여 분해하는가를 알기 위하여 본 실험을 실시하였다. 1. Oligopeptide인 Asp-Arg-Val-Tyr-Ile-His-Pro-D-Ala(8-D-Ala${\cdot}$angiotensin II)의 융점은 210 ~ $212^{\circ}C$, 분자식은 $C_{44}H_{67}N_{13}O_{12}{\cdot}2CH_3COOH{\cdot}H_2O$, 분자량은 970.08이었다. 2. 산으로 가수분해 하였을 때 몰 비율은 Asp : 1.01, Arg : 1.03, Val : 1.00, Tyr :40.94, Ile : 1.00, His : 1.05, Pro : 1.04, D-Ala : 1.03이였다. 3. (8-D-Ala)angiotensin II의 oligopeptide에 ${\alpha}$-Chymotrypsin의 작용은 Tyr-Ile 결합에만 분해작용을 하였다. 4. 식품착색제의 첨가는 paper chromatogram 방법에 의해서 추정할때 oligopeptide, (8-D-Ala) angiotensin II에 대한 ${\alpha}$-Chymotrypsin의 저해작용에 아무런 영향을 끼치지 않았음을 볼 수 있다.

Rumen Parameters and Urea Kinetics in Goats and Sheep

  • The effects of animal species and supplements on rumen fluid characteristics, plasma urea-N (PUN) concentration, plasma urea-N pool size, urea-N degradation in the gut and urea-N net flux (urea-N synthesis rate) were studied in goats and sheep, with some minor differences detected. The animals were fed either chopped rice straw ad libitum+200 g soybean meal (SBM), or chopped rice straw ad libitum+190 g soybean meal+300 g sago meal (SBM+SM) for 14 days. The supplements were isonitrogenous (80 g crude protein/animal/d). [$^{14}C$]-urea was used as the marker for urea metabolism studies. Two animals from each species were fed either supplement in a cross-over design in two periods. The results showed that rumen pH was significantly (p<0.001) lower in animals fed SBM+SM than those fed SBM supplement. The ammonia concentrations of rumen fluid were significantly (p<0.01) higher in sheep (382.9 mg N/L) than goats (363.1 mg N/L) when fed SBM supplement but lower (282.5 mg N/L) than that of goats (311.0 mg N/L) when fed SBM+SM supplement. Total VFA concentrations were significantly (p<0.05) higher in animals fed SBM+SM supplement than those fed SBM supplement. Goats had significantly (p<0.01) higher molar proportions of acetate (79.1, 77.7%, respectively) than sheep (75.8, 74.0%, respectively) in both supplements. The molar proportion of acetate was significantly (p<0.05) higher, while that of butyrate lower in animals fed SBM supplement than those fed SBM+SM supplement. In animals fed SBM supplement, the molar proportion of propionate was significantly (p<0.01) higher in sheep (18.0%) than in goats (15.6%), but in animals fed SBM+SM, the molar proportion of butyrate was significantly (p<0.01) higher (9.6%) in sheep than in goats (7.2%). Plasma urea-N concentration, plasma urea-N pool size, urea-N degradation in the gut, urea-N net flux and the fraction of urea-C from the blood entering the rumen were not significantly different between goats and sheep fed either supplement. However, PUN concentration was significantly (p<0.05) lower in animals fed SBM+SM supplement (average of 13.8 mg N/100 ml) than in those fed SBM supplement (average of 16.5 mg N/100 ml). The urea net flux was significantly (p<0.05) higher in goats (average of 14.5 g N/d) than sheep (average of 12.9 g N/d), and animals fed SBM supplement showed higher (average of 14.9 g N/d) urea net flux than animals fed SBM+SM supplement (average of 12.9 g N/d). A significant (p<0.05) positive correlation was observed between urea-N net flux and urea-N degradation; urea-N net flux and pool size; urea-N net flux and urea excretion in the urine; and PUN and rumen ammonia in goats. While in sheep, significant (p<0.05) positive correlation was observed between urea-N net flux and urea excretion in the urine; and PUN and rumen ammonia.

당뇨와 비당뇨 유지 혈액투석 환자의 영양상태와 염증지표의 상관성 비교 (Comparison of Nutritional Status and Inflammational Markers in DM and nonDM Hemodialysis Patients)

  • Protein-calorie malnutrition is common in maintenance dialysis patients. Indeed, diabetic patients with chronic renal failure are considered to be at increased risk of malnutrition. The aim of this study was to compare the nutritional status and markers of inflammation of hemodialysis patients with and without type 2 diabetes. We compared nutritional parameters and C-reactive protein (CRP) as a marker of inflammation in 30 type 2 diabetic patients and age-matched 30 non-diabetic patients with hemodialysis. Serum albumin was significantly lower in patients with type 2 diabetes $(3.45\pm0.43g/dL)$ than in non-diabetic patients $(3.64\pm0.36 g/dL)$ (p<0.05). In contrast, the concentration of serum CRP was significantly higher in type 2 diabetes $(1.42\pm1.8mg/dL)$ (p<0.05). There were significant negative-relationships between serum albumin and CRP level in both diabetic (r=-0.553, p<0.01) and non-diabetic (r=-0.579, p<0.01) patients. In diabetic patients, serum albumin level was significantly correlated with hemoglobin (r = 0.488, p < 0.01) and hematocrit (r=0.386, p < 0.01). Diabetic patients as compared to non-diabetic patients showed a significant (p < 0.01) increased serum triglyceride (TG) $(153.1\pm80.1mg/dL\;vs\;101.6\pm62.4mg/dL)$ and decreased serum HDL cholesterol $(36.89\pm13.48mg/dL\;vs\;47.00\pm14.02mg/dL,\;P<0.05)$. There were significant correlations in the intake of calorie and serum albumin levels in both diabetic (r=0.438, p< 0.05) and non-diabetic (r=0.527, p<0.05) patients. Serum CRP level was negatively correlated with calorie (r= -0.468, p < 0.05), protein (r=-0.520, p < 0.01) and fat intakes (r=-0.403, p < 0.05) in diabetic patients and calorie (r=-0.534, p<0.05) and protein intakes (r=-0.559, p<0.05) in non-diabetic patients. The prevalence of protein malnutrition and the risk factors of cardiovascular disease were significantly higher in type 2 diabetic patients than in non-diabetic hemodialysis patients. Thus, we can suggest that the higher comorbidity and mortality rate in diabetic hemodialysis patients are partially explained by malnutrition and inflammation.

The Influence of Dietary Characteristics on the Milk Quantity and Quality of Riverine Buffaloes: Estimate of the Energy/Protein Requirements, for a Medium-high Production, in the First Ninety Days of Lactation

  • The data used came from two trials undertaken under the same climatic conditions (spring-summer). In both trials pluriparious buffaloes were utilized similar in weight, body condition score, and milk production from the previous year. From the first trial the data used was from the sub-period 23-88 DIM provided by seven animals fed ad libitum with diet A (6.69 MJ/kg DM; 158.30 g/kg of crude protein) with a forage/concentrate ratio of 48/52. From the second trial the data used was from the sub-period 33-90 DIM provided by seven animals fed ad libitum with diet B (6.63 MJ/kg DM; 179.50 g/kg of crude protein) and by seven animals fed ad libitum with diet C (5.99 MJ/kg DM; 155.40 g/kg of crude protein), each of the diets had the same forage/concentrate ratio (53/47). A significant difference was found in milk production between group B and C (13.08 vs. 11.56 kg/d, p<0.05), an intermediate production (12.10 kg/d) was noted in group A. A significant difference was found between fat (76.58 vs. 69.24 g/kg, p<0.05), protein (46.14 vs. 43.16 g/kg, p<0.05) and casein (39.94 vs. 34.98 g/kg, p<0.05) of the milk of group B with respect to group A. The milk of group C gave fat values (71.80 g/kg), protein (45.52 g/kg) and casein (39.06 g/kg) statistically equal to those of group B. The milk of groups B and C, in respect to the milk of group A, gave values of $K_{20}$ (1.77, 1.82 vs. 3.68 min, p<0.05), statistically lower and values of $A_{30}$ (48.28, 47.27 vs. 40.64 mm, p<0.05) statistically higher. Two simple linear regressions were calculated where the independent variable (x) was the daily standardized milk production, the dependent variable (y) or the daily intake of net energy or crude protein. Equation 1) NE (MJ/d) = 74.4049+2.8308${\times}$kg of normalized milk; equation 2) CP (kg/d) = 1.4507+0.1085${\times}$kg of normalized milk, both the equations were significant (p<0.05) with determination coefficients of 0.58 and 0.50 respectively. For a production of normalized milk that varies from 9 to 13 kg, the respective energy-protein concentrations fluctuate from 6.09 to 6.78 MJ/kg DM and from 148.00 to 174.46 g/kg DM.

Effects of [D-$Pen^2$, D-$Pen^5$]-enkephalin on the Neuronal Activity of Medial Vestibular Nuclear Neurons

  • This study was designed to investigate direct effects of [D-$Pen^2$, D-$Pen^5$]-enkephalin, a $\delta$-opioid receptor agonist on the neuronal activity of medial vestibular nuclear (MVN) neurons by whole-cell configuration patch clamp experiments. The spike frequency of MVN neuron was increased to $9.50{\pm}0.55$ (P<0.05) and $10.56{\pm}0.66$ (P<0.05) by 5 and $10{\mu}M$ [D-$Pen^2$, D-$Pen^5$]-enkephalin from the control level of $8.05{\pm}0.55$ spikes/sec, respectively (n=18). The resting membrane potential of the neurons was increased to $-37.86{\pm}0.92$ and $-36.97{\pm}0.97$ (P<0.05) from $-38.74{\pm}1.13\;mV$ by 5 and $10{\mu}M$ [D-$Pen^2$, D-$Pen^5$]-enkephalin, respectively. The amplitude of afterhyperpolarization was decreased to $23.78{\pm}0.65$ and $21.67{\pm}0.89$ (P<0.05) from $23.73{\pm}0.53\;mV$ by 5 and $10{\mu}M$ [D-$Pen^2$, D-$Pen^5$]-enkephalin, respectively. The spike width was changed to $2.22{\pm}0.08$ and $2.24{\pm}0.07$ from $2.20{\pm}0.08\;mV$ by 5 and $10{\mu}M$ [D-$Pen^2$, D-$Pen^5$]-enkephalin, respectively. After pretreatment of naltrindole, a highly selective 8-opioid receptor antagonist, [D-$Pen^2$, D-$Pen^5$]-enkephalin did not change firing rate, resting membrane potential, afterhyperpolarization amplitude, and spike width of MVN neurons. The above experimental results suggest that [D-$Pen^2$, D-$Pen^5$]-enkephalin increases the neuronal activity of MVN neurons via inhibition of calcium-dependent potassium currents underlying the afterhyperpolarization.

Effects of Nutritional Education and Physical Exercise Program on Nutritional and Health Status of Obese Children in Busan Metropolitan City

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of a nutritional education and physical exercise program on obese children (47 boys and 36 girls). The nutritional education and physical exercise program was provided for 6 weeks and dietary habits, nutrient intake and hematological profiles were measured before and after the program. The BMI (body mass index, $kg/m^2$) in male children was significantly reduced to $24.58{\pm}2.81$ from $25.89{\pm}3.27$ (p<0.01) and it was significantly reduced to $24.29{\pm}3.51$ from $25.21{\pm}3.59$ in female children after the completion of nutritional education and exercise program. Body fat in male children was remarkably reduced to $32.69{\pm}7.74%$ after education from $37.38{\pm}9.21%$ (p<0.001). After the program total cholesterol concentration in male children was reduced to $176.48{\pm}29.10\;mg/dL$ from $196.03{\pm}29.10\;mg/dL$, whereas there was no significant difference in females before and after the nutritional education and exercise program. The grasping power of male children (p<0.05) and backmuscle strength of male (p<0.05) and female children (p<0.001) were significantly increased after the exercise program. The nutrient intakes that were different before and after the nutrition education were calories (p<0.05) and carbohydrate (p<0.05) in male children, and a significant increase in intake of vitamin A (p<0.05) was found in female children. There was a significant difference in meal time regularity before and after program. The findings of this study showed that there was a significant decrease in both body fat and weight, in addition to normalization of hematological profiles after the completion of nutrition education and physical exercise programs.
