  • E-TPE (Engineering Thermoplastic Polyether Ester) was Ester Elastomer with functional groups as recycling and fast processability. In addition, if the car's lightweight enough to highlight eco-friendly materials that help to improve fuel economy has become. Have all the attributes of the rubber and engineering plastics E-TPE the available temperature area is spacious, heat resistance and oil resistance is excellent but getting attention as a new material in the field of auto parts in the field of electrical and electronic domestic depends entirely on imports by the lack of core technology and has been research and development is urgently needed. In this study, the hard segments, polyester (TPEE) as the base soft elastomers of the segments Ethylen-prophylene-Copolymer and CSM (Choloro sulphonated polyethylene Rubber), VAMAC (Ethylene Acrylic Rubber), NBR (Acrylonitrin Butadiene Rubber), 1, 3-Phenylene-bisoxazoline is dealing with Dynamic Vulcanized by content and added rubber properties, thermal variation observed. As a result, the properties of the dynamic vulcanization with NBR compared to other rubber heat resistance and oil resistance is on the increase.

  • A series of conveyer rubber belts has been made by blending natural rubber(NR), styrene butadiene rubber(SBR), chloroprene rubber(CR) and additives on nylon cords, and their respective flammability has been investigated. It has been observed that: 1. By adding an antiflame agent to the belt, in addition to 70% chlorinated paraffine and antimony oxide($Sb_{2}O_{3}$), the inflammability is improved remarkably to O - 2 seconds due to the synergistic effect, while a sample without antiflame B fails to pass the KS M 6678 test. 2. Physical properties, such as tensile strength, elongation at break and adhesion strength, of the sample belts have been studies by varying ratios of NR/CR from 20 to 100, and it has been observed that the higher ratios have the better physical properties.

  • We develop a simple model which can describe and explain abnormal stress relaxation of ABS melt for which stress dose not exponentially decay. The relaxation behavior of ABS melt consists of two distinct relaxation modes. One is the relaxation of the matrix phase similar to the case of homopolymer melt. The other is manifested by the collection of butadiene rubber particles, named as the cluster, where the particles are connected through the interaction between grafted SAN and matrix SAN. The second mode of the relaxation is characterized by the relaxation time, which is a function of the average size and the microscopic state of the cluster. Experimental results reveal that it can be represented as the product of the average size of the clusters by a function of internal variable that represents the fraction of strained SAN chains inside the cluster.

  • [ ${\gamm}-Glycidoxy$ ] propyl trimethoxy silane, CTBN rubber(carboxyl terminated butadiene acrylonitrile rubber) and GMA(glycidyl methacrylate) were reacted on the surface of silica one by one in existence of TEA(triethylamine) or BPO(benzoyl peroxide). The amount of reactant was $2.5{\sim}5.8%$ of treated silica weight. The treated silica was mixed with epoxy resin and MTHPA(methyl tetrahydro phthalic anhydride) in the range of $0{\sim}60%$(wt.%) of total component. The thermal properties were tested for cured products. By using silica treated with silane/rubber or silane/rubber/vinyl, comparing with 3% of rubber mixed directly, it had 13% higher $T_g$ and 10% lower thermal expansion coefficient at $35{\sim}55%$ of silica contents.

  • Exhaust emissions were studied as a function of gasoline olefin composition in two vehicles-MPI and GDi engine equipped vehicles. Three different gasolines were tested which varied in olefin contents-12, 16 and 20 vol%. Exhaust emissions in two vehicles were affected by changes in gasoline olefin composition. Responses to changes in olefins were similar in both vehicles : reducing olefins lowered emissions of NOx and CO. Measured exhaust emissions included total hydrocarbons (THC), oxides of nitrogen (NOx), carbon monooxide(CO), carbon dioxide($CO_2$), formaldehyde, benzene, toluene, xylene, 1,3-butadiene and acetylene.

  • Stable polyaniline-dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid(PANI-DBSA) fully dissolved in toluene was obtained by a direct one-step emulsion polymerization technique. By using the proper molar ratio of APS/aniline monomer and DBSA/aniline monomer, the highest conductivity(7 S/cm) of PANI was obtained. The UV-Vis absorption spectrum of PANI confirmed PANI is emeraldine salt form. PANI/styrene polymers (polystyrene and styrene-butadiene copolymer) blends were prepared by mixing PANI solution with polymers in toluene. These blends exhibited the conductivity of 10$\^$-4/-10$\^$-3/ S/cm at 1 wt. % of PANI content. The mechanical property of conducting blend was decreased and TGA thermograms of conducting blends were similar to that of PANI. It had been checked that the flatness of coating layers of conducting blends decreased with increasing conducting components. It was also found that the morphology of blends was setting closer to that of PANI at higher conducting component contents.

  • Each of the two polycarbonates (PC) of different molecular weights was blended with acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) under high-shear rate processing to afford PC/ABS. Sizes of ABS dispersed phases and mechanical properties of PC/ABS blends were investigated and high-shear rate processing of PC/ABS was carried out by changing screw speed and processing time. Prepared specimens were examined by scanning electron microscope (SEM) to observe morphology changes. Sizes of ABS dispersed phases in PC/ABS blends were observed to decrease gradually as screw speeds increased. Tensile strengths and elongations of specimens were investigated by universal testing method (UTM) to study the influence of molecular weight of PC exerting on PC/ABS blends. As a result, PC1/ABS blends (PC1: higher molecular weight PC) exhibited more strengthened properties than PC2/ABS (PC2: lower molecular weight PC). The tensile strength of PC1/ABS showed an increasing tendency when the screw speed increased, and the elongation did not show a significant decrease, but increased slightly with increasing shear time at a constant screw speed of 1000 rpm.

  • In this study, styrene butadiene rubber(SBR)/organoclay nanocomposites were manufactured using the latex method with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane(APTES) as a modifier. The X-ray diffraction(XRD), transmission electron microscopy(TEM) images, Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy, swelling ratio and mechanical properties were measured in order to study the interaction between filler and rubber according to the mixing temperature in the internal mixer. In the case of SBR/APTES-MMT compounds, the dispersion of the silicates within the rubber matrix was enhanced, and thereby, the mechanical properties were improved. The characteristic bands of Si-O-C in APTES disappeared after hydrolysis reaction in the MMT-suspension solution and the peak of hydroxyl group was increased. Therefore the formation of chemical bonds between the hydroxyl group generated from APTES on the silicate surface and the ethoxy group of bis(triethoxysilylpropyl) tetrasulfide(TESPT) was possible. Consequently, the 300% modulus of SBR/APTES-MMT compounds was further improved in the case of using TESPT as a coupling agent. However, the silanization reaction between APTES and TESPT was not affected significantly according to the increase of mixing temperature in the internal mixer.
