단축형 종결 욕구의 타당화 (Validation of the Need for Closure Scale-Short Form)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 인지적 종결 욕구를 측정하는 단축형 종결 욕구 척도(NFCS-SF: Need for Closure Scale-Short Form)를 타당화하기 위함이었다. 참가자들은 인지적 종결 욕구, 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족, 우울과 불안 설문지를 작성하였다. 2017년 5월~7월 동안 수집된 536개의 자료 중, 총 495명의 참가자의 자료를 SPSS 20.0과 M-Plus로 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 탐색적 요인분석 결과를 토대로 각 하위 영역에서 3문항을 선정하여 15문항의 NFCS-SF를 구성하였다. 둘째, NFCS-SF의 내적 일치도가 양호했다(연구 1, Cronbach's α=.85; 연구 2, Cronbach's α=.84). 셋째, 확인적 요인분석 결과 5요인 구조가 지지되었다(χ2(80)=178.34, p<.001, CFI=.87, TLI=.83, RMSEA=.07, SRMR=.08). 넷째, NFCS-SF는 NFCS(r=.86, p<.01) 뿐 아니라 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족(r=.58, p<.01), 우울(r=.16, p<.05)과 불안(상태 불안, r=.31, p<.01; 특성 불안, r=.29, p<.01) 척도와의 상관이 유의하였다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로, 연구의 의의 및 한계와 후속 연구를 위한 제안을 토의하였다.

Characterization and Genomic Analysis of Novel Bacteriophage ΦCS01 Targeting Cronobacter sakazakii

  • Cronobacter sakazakii is an opportunistic pathogen causing serious infections in neonates. In this study, a bacteriophage ${\Phi}CS01$, which infects C. sakazakii, was isolated from swine feces and its morphology, growth parameters, and genomic analysis were investigated. Transmission electron microscopy revealed that ${\Phi}CS01$ has a spherical head and is 65.74 nm in diameter with a 98.75 nm contracted tail, suggesting that it belongs to the family Myoviridae. The major viral proteins are approximately 71 kDa and 64 kDa in size. The latent period of ${\Phi}CS01$ was shown to be 60 min, and the burst size was 90.7 pfu (plaque-forming units)/infected cell. Bacteriophage ${\Phi}CS01$ was stable at $4-60^{\circ}C$ for 1 h and lost infectivity after 1 h of heating at $70^{\circ}C$. Infectivity remained unaffected at pH 4-9 for 2 h, while the bacteriophage was inactivated at pH <3 or >10. The double-stranded ${\Phi}CS01$ DNA genome consists of 48,195 base pairs, with 75 predicted open reading frames. Phylogenetic analysis is closely related to that of the previously reported C. sakazakii phage ESP2949-1. The newly isolated ${\Phi}CS01$ shows infectivity in the host bacterium C. sakazakii, indicating that it may be a promising alternative to antibacterial agents for the removal of C. sakazakii from powdered infant formulas.

Effect of Weight-bearing Pattern and Calcaneal Taping on Heel Width and Plantar Pressure in Standing

  • Purpose: This study examined the effects of the weight-bearing pattern and calcaneal taping on the heel width and plantar pressure in standing. Methods: Fifteen healthy subjects with normal feet participated in this study. The heel width was measured using a digital caliper, and a pedoscan was used to measure the plantar pressure of the rear foot while standing. The participants were instructed to stand in three weight-bearing patterns (anterior, middle, and posterior weight bearing) before and after calcaneal taping. The heel width and plantar pressure were measured three times before and three times after calcaneal taping, with the three weight-bearing patterns applied in random order. A 2 (non-taping vs. taping) × 3 (anterior, middle, posterior weight bearing) two-way repeated ANOVA with a Bonferroni post hoc correction was used to assess the differences in heel width and plantar pressure. Results: The results revealed a significant main effect of the weight-bearing pattern (p<.01), but not of calcaneal taping (p>.05). Greater weight bearing applied to the heel resulted in a significantly increased heel width and planter pressure of the rear foot (p<.01). Conclusion: In standing, a posterior weight-bearing pattern increases the heel width due to side-to-side shifting of the plantar heel pad, which increases the heel plantar pressure. Therefore, to prevent high stress on the heel pad and plantar heel pain, it is important to refrain from posterior weight bearing while standing during the activities of daily living.

2형 당뇨병 발생위험인자로서의 혈청 Ferritin의 의의 (Serum Ferritin as a Risk Factor in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus)

  • 목 적 : 체내에 축적된 철은 간에서 인슐린제거를 늦게 해 고인슐린혈증을 유발하며, 인슐린 작용을 저해시키고 이로 인해 당신생이 증가해 이차적으로 당뇨병을 유발할 수 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 따라서 체내의 저장 철을 알 수 있는 가장 좋은 지표인 ferritin을 측정해 2형 당뇨병 발생과의 연관성을 조사하기 위한 연구를 시행하였다. 방 법 : 연세의료원에서 진료받고 있는 1형 당뇨 환자군 36명, 2형 당뇨 환자군 8명, 내당능 장애군 18명을 대상으로 하였으며, 2004년 학교 신체 검사에서 정상 대조군 29명을 선정하여, ferritin과 기타 혈청학적 및 임상적 검사를 실시하였다. 결 과 : 1) 정상대조군, 내당능 장애군, 2형 당뇨 환자군에서 평균 Log ferritin은 각각 $1.33{\pm}0.32$, $1.63{\pm}0.19$, $1.90{\pm}0.30$였으며 정상 대조군에 비해 내당능 장애군(P<0.01)과 2형 당뇨 환자군(P<0.01)에서 유의하게 증가되어 있었다. 2) Log ferritin과 각 변수인자와의 상관관계는 체질량 지수(P<0.01), 수축기 혈압(P<0.01), 공복시 혈당(P<0.01), 공복시 인슐린(P<0.01)과 유의한 관계를 보였다. 결 론 : 정상 대조군에 비해 내당능 장애군과 2형 당뇨 환자군에서 ferritin이 의미 있게 높았으며 ferritin의 증가는 인슐린 저항성과 2형 당뇨병 발생의 유발인자로서의 가능성을 시사한다.

Stressful Life Event, Close Relationship, Self-Esteem, and Depression in College Women

  • Koreans rarely complain of depression or other psychological problems because mental illness is viewed as a stigmatizing and threatening experience. This study examined the relationships among stressful life events, close relationships, self-esteem. and depression in 400 college women aged 18 to 30 years. Depression was positively related to stressful life events (r=.21, p=<.01). Depression and stressful life events were negatively associated with self-esteem (r=-.67; r=-.11, p<.01; p<.05 respectively). Close relationships with women and men friends were each negatively associated with depression (r=-.24; r=-.16, p<.01; p<.05). Close relationships with women and men friends were positively associated with self-esteem (r=.23; r=.20, p<.01). Forty nine percent of variance in depression rates in this sample was explained. After adjustment for degrees of freedom, a total of 49% of the variance in depression was explained by self-esteem and stressful life events. This investigation into the relationships among the variables influencing depression for college women is a critical issue as health professionals need to be aware that college women are at considerable risk for depression. Effective psychosocial interventions are those designed for specific populations to meet unique care needs and since young Korean women may be at considerable risk for depression.

비트 가루를 첨가한 발아현미 쿠키의 제조조건 최적화 (Optimizing Production Conditions of Germinated Brown Rice Cookie Prepared with Beet Powder)

  • This study was conducted to develop an optimal composite recipe for nutritional cookies containing beet powder. Flour was substituted with whole wheat flour containing germinated brown rice powder. The sensory optimal composite recipe was determined by making cookies containing two levels of beet powder (A) or butter (B) according to Central Composite Design (CCD) and by conducting the sensory evaluation and instrumental analysis according to Response Surface Methodology (RSM). Using CCD, the results of physical measurement for ten conditions with two variables were obtained. The values of lightness (L), redness (a), and yellowness (b) were in the range of 36.65~49.03, 22.15~29.31, and 13.96~19.34, respectively. Lightness decreased significantly (P<0.001) and redness increased significantly (P<0.01) upon an increase in beet powder. The results of sensory evaluation showed very significant values in color (P<0.05), texture (P<0.05), flavor (P<0.01), taste (P<0.05), and overall quality (P<0.05), whereas those of the instrumental analysis showed significant values in lightness (P<0.001), redness (P<0.01), spread ratio (P<0.01), and hardness (P<0.05). As a result, the optimal sensory ratio of beet cookie was calculated for beet powder 7.75 g and butter 77.88 g.

Effects of Mechanochemical Pretreatment on the Extraction of Functional Materials from Houttuynia cordata

  • Houttuynia cordata is used as a raw material of oriental medicine to acquire antioxidant and anti cancer effect and to cure a heart disease. Mechanochemical technology not only reduces the size of the object but also changes the chemical properties of the object. Extraction of functional materials from the Houttuynia cordata after grinding as a pretreatment using the mechanochemical technology was conducted in this study to investigate the effect of grinding on the yields and antioxidant activities of the extract. Houttuynia cordata was ground by the planetary ball mill and the morphology was analyzed by SEM. Yields of functional materials were increased from 6.2 g in the sample without grinding to 7.0, 7.8, 8.8 g after grinding of 30 minutes, 1 hour and 2 hours, respectively. Nitrite scavenging abilities were increased from 57-77% to 69-86% as a result of mechanochemical pretreatment. Also, DPPH scavenging abilities for the methanol extraction were increased from 10.01-40.29% to 11.01-49.29% as a result of mechanochemical grinding.

일부 지역 임산부의 구강보건관리에 대한 인식 및 실천에 관한 연구 (A study on the awareness and practice of the pregnant women about oral health care)

  • The purpose of this study examines the level of awareness and practice for the oral health care of the pregnant women, finding problems and proposing the problem point regarding hereupon and an improvement point by analyzing the result. Data for this study are collected by the questionnaire method from pregnant women who attend gynecology clinic located Gwangju provide for the period between December, 2007 and January, 2008. The obtained results were as follows : 1. The experience of oral health education for pregnant women were 'none' 94.8%, 'yes' 5.2%, the majority no received oral health education. 2. The awareness score of dietary treatment was 34.09 and practice score was 29.73, the awareness score of periodontitis prevention was 33.31 and practice score was 29.04. The awareness score of subsidiary oral hygiene articles was 32.19, practice score was 17.95. The awareness score was higher than practice score. 3. The relationship between the awareness and practice of oral health care was positively correlated: dietary treatment(r=0.483, p<0.01), periodontitis prevention (r=0.531, p<0.01), subsidiary oral hygiene articles (r=0.515, p<0.01), oral health care (r=0.531, p<0.01). Conclusion of these survey showed that it is crucial to increase the level of practice of oral health care. It is also necessarily to increase the level of awareness of the oral health care.

학령전 아동의 아연흡수에 관한 연구 (Zinc Absorption of Preschool Children)

  • 학령전 아동의 zinc absorption, excretion, balance에 대하여 연구한 결과는 다음과 같다. Zinc absorption은 남자아동의 경우 29.7%, 여자아동의 경우 23.3%, 평균 25.8%로 나타났다. 대상자기 zinc absorption은 zinc intake와는 상관성이 나타나지 않았으며, zinc balance와 유의적 상관(p<0.01)을 보였다. Zinc balance는 남자아동의 경우 평균 3.25mg/day , 여자아동의 경우 1.78mg/day , 평균 2.34mg/day 로 1명의 대상자를 제외하고 모두 positive balance를 보였다. Fecal zinc loss는 평균 6.31mg/day, urinary ziilc loss는 평균 0.16mg/day 였다. zinc intake는 focal zinc loss및 zinc balance에 유의적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며(p<0.01), urinary zinc는 intake의 영향을 받지 않았다. 우리나라 학령전 아동의 zinc absorption 및 balance 는 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 이 방면의 연구 자료가 많지 않아, 성장기 아동을 대상으로 한 zinc nutrition에 대한 구체적이고 지속적인 연구가 필요하다.

즉석섭취식품 소비자의 구매선호도와 만족도 조사 (A Survey on Preference and Satisfaction of the Customers Purchasing Ready-to-Eat Foods)

  • This study was executed in order to analyze the purchasing practices, preferences, and satisfaction of consumers purchasing ready-to-eat foods. The study was executed from the $20\;May{\sim}30\;June$ 2007 in the Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do area. Questionnaires were distributed among 480 people. Of these, 410 questionnaires were collected and applied to a statistical analysis. Statistical analyses were conducted using the SPSS package program (version 14.0 for windows). The results of the statistical analyses were as follows. 42.4% males and 57.6% females participated in this study. The biggest motivation behind the purchase of ready-to-eat foods was convenience, 51.0%. The most common venues where these foods were purchased were supermarkets or discount marts, 67.6%. The ratio of substituting ready-to-eat foods for meals was 70.5%. The consumption practices of ready-to-eat foods of the consumers according to purchase place illustrated significant differences in the average expense per person each time (p<0.01), co-consumer (p<0.001), and age (p<0.05). The purchase preference was high with kimbaps (73.4%), hamburgers (29.8%), sushis (29.0%), and sandwiches (27.9%). Unmarried individuals showed a significantly higher overall liking and satisfaction for ready-to-eat foods than married individuals (p<0.001). Individuals living without a family was significantly higher overall liking and satisfaction than individuals living with a family (p<0.05). Individuals who spent an average of 10,000 won per time showed a significantly higher overall liking and satisfaction than those who spent below 10,000 won per time (p<0.05). In the presence of a friend as a co-consumer of ready-to-eat foods, satisfaction was significantly high (p<0.01). Consumers who purchased ready-to-eat foods at meal times, showed a significantly higher overall liking, compared to those who purchased such food products in between meal times (p<0.01). The preference and satisfaction degree of the consumer must be reflected by product development, quality improvement and marketing plan establishment.
