A Triple-Mode DC-DC Buck Converter with DPSS Function (DPSS 기능을 갖는 3중 모드 DC-DC Buck 변환기)

  • This paper describes a tripple-mode DC-DC buck converter with DPSS Fucntion. The DC-DC buck converter operate in PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) mode at moderate to heavy loads(80mA~500mA), in PFM(Pulse Frequency Modulation)at light loads(1mA~80mA), and in LDO(Low Drop Out) mode at the sleep mode(<1mA). In PFM mode DPSS(Dynamic Partial Shutdown Strategy) is also employed to increase the efficiency at light loads. The triple-mode converter can thus achieve high efficiencies over wide load current range. The proposed DC-DC converter is designed in a CMOS 0.18um technology. It has a maximum power efficiency of 97.02% and maximum output current of 500mA. The input and output voltages are 3.3V and 2.5V, respectively. The chip size is $1465um{\times}895um$ including pads.

  • This paper presents an LMI-based method to design sliding mode observers for a class of uncertain systems. Using LIs we derive an existence condition of a sliding mode observer guaranteeing a stable sliding motion. And we give explicit formulas of the observer gain matrices. We also consider sliding mode observer design problems under an α-stability constraint or an LQ performance bound constraint. Finally, we give a numerical design example.

  • This paper presents the reconfigurable flight controller in the presence of jammed actuator fault using the adaptive sliding mode control scheme. It is developed under the assumption that the control surface fault cannot be detected and the positions of stuck control surfaces are unknown. It is well known that sliding mode controller shows good performance for the systems with various uncertainties. None-operating stuck actuator makes the system behave like bias which degrades the system performance and sometimes destabilizes the system.   • This paper presents the modeling of the sampling effect in the p-type average current mode control. The prediction of the high frequency components near half of the switching frequency in the current loop gain is given for the p-type average current mode control. By the proposed model, the prediction accuracy is improved when compared to that of conventional models. The proposed method is applied to a buck converter, and then the measurement results are analyzed.

  • The driving pattern was studied in Seoul along nineteen representative routes using a test car equipped with all the instruments required for recording traffic flow and measuring fuel consumption. Speed histories, gear shift points, instantaneous fuel consumption rates, etc. were recorded and the data were anlyzed to determine the traffic characteristics for Seoul. The Seoul-14 Mode has been developed to simulated actual driving conditions in Seoul with respect to fuel consumption. The average speed of the Seoul-14 Mode is 30.1 Km/h and the Mode length is 11.94 Km.

  • In this paper, a dual mode baseband analog channel selection filter is described which is designed for the Bluetooth and WCDMA wireless communications. Using the presented current-mode integrator, a dual mode channel selection filter is designed. To verify the current-mode integrator circuit, Hspice simulation using 1.8V Hynix $0.18{\mu}m$ standard CMOS technology was performed and achieved $50.0{\sim}4.3dB$ gain, $2.29{\sim}10.3MHz$ unity gain frequency. The described third-order dual mode analog channel selection filter is composed of the current-mode integrator, and used SFG(Signal Flow Graph) method. The simulated results show 0.51, 2.40MHz cutoff frequency which is suitable for the Bluetooth and WCDMA baseband block each.

  • Dockings of 4,5-diarylpyrroles into cyclooxygenase-1 and cyclooxygenase-2 were carried out by GOLD program. The sulfonyl groups bonded to 5-phenyl ring of 4,5-diarylpyrroles are directed to Arg513 of COX-2 and Tyr385 of COX-2 docking modes of pyrroles are different from COX-1. Tyr385 and Arg120 of COX-1 and COX-2 have been recognized as important residues. Val523 of COX-2 may be also important. A new COX-2 selective inhibitors could be designed from the docking study.

  • Recently, developments of device using characteristics of ceramics as a new technical material is in progress. While doing so, Ultrasonic motor which is a part of research & flat-type $L_1-B_8$ mode Ultrasonic motor and measured the operation characteristics of its. The size of USM is 80*20*1.5[$mm{^1}$](length*width*thickness) and is constructed with stator by piezo-ceramics and stainless elastic body and rotator by bearings. As results of experiments, the fastest speed of revolution($\upsilon$), the maximum torque(T) and the efficiency($\eta$) were 37.5[cm/sec], 5.0[mN$\cdot$M] and 1.17[%] respectively when 27.9[kHz], 150[gf], 50[V] were applied. SO, we think this flat-type $L{_1}-B{_8}$ mode Ultrasonic motor is able to be used for applications in forwarding device of a paper or electric card so on. A 3.3-V Low-Power Compact Driver for Multi-Standard Physical Layer

  • A low-power compact driver for multistandard physical layer is presented. The proposed driver achieves low power and small area through the voltage-mode driver with trans-impedance configuration and the novel hybrid driver,. In the voltage-mode driver, a trans-impedance configuration alleviates the problem of limited common-mode range of error amplifiers and the area and power overhead due to pre-amplifier. For a standard with extended output swing, only current sources are added in parallel with the voltage-mode driver, which is named a 'hybrid driver'. The hybrid architecture not only increases output swing but reduces overall driver area. The overall driver occupies $0.14mm^2$. Power consumptions under 3.3-V supply are 24.5 mW for the voltage-mode driver and 44.5 mW for the hybrid driver.

  • Recently, many studies focus on mixed-mode fatigue-fracture characteristics of characteristics of materials. In order to reveal crack initiation and propagation mechanisms in combined -mode fatigue. This paper investigates the initiation and propagation behavior of the fatigue crack of the STS304 specimens under mixed mode loading conditions. moreover crack arrest and branch phenomena were analyzed with respect to the change do the angle of inclined loading. The relationship between the angle of inclined loading and the angle of branched crack was studied. A greate number of cycles are necessary to initiate a new crack from the initial crack. The direction of the new crack propagation is determined by MTS theory.
