This study investigated the effect of job satisfaction on altruism and civic virtue, also explored the mediating role of organizational commitment on these relationships in the Chinese setting. We tested on a sample of 246 employees working in three Chinese companies. The results of PLS Structural equation modeling showed that job satisfaction has a positive impact on organizational commitment, and organizational commitment has a positive impact on altruism and civic virtue. Further, organizational commitment partially mediated the relationship between job satisfaction and altruism, and civic virtue.

Traditional concurrency control strategies for database system are inappropriate for mobile computing environments in which communication disconnection could occur frequently. The time available to access transactions may be extremely limited in mobile computing. In order to ensure that this time is utilized most effectively, the short-lived transactions must be a main stream of transactions. Service handoffs which occur due to communication disconnection, could degrade the performance of mobile transactions especially for short-lived transactions. Altruistic locking protocol is in its nature favorable to short-lived transactions since it applies the donation of locks to long-lived transactions as early as possible. Performance for short-lived transactions could be improved when we applied altruistic locking to mobile computing.

본 논문은 국지적 상호작용 하에서 행위자들간에 특성의 차이에 근거한 구별짓기가 협조적 행위의 진화에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 구별짓기의 성향이 왜, 그리고 어떤 메커니즘을 통해서 진화해나가는지를 보이고자 시도할 것이다. 아울러 구별짓기 성향과 함께 내부인과 외부인을 향한 행동을 다르게 함으로써 어떻게 내부인에 대한 이타적 협조행동을 발생시키는지, 더 나아가 구별짓기의 근거가 되는 행위자들의 여러 특성들(생물학적 혹은 문화적)은 어떻게 변화해 나가고 이들 특성의 변화가 구별짓기와 협조적 행동에 어떤 효과를 가져오는지를 살펴보고자 한다. 더 나아가 본 논문에서는 구별짓기가 협조적 행위의 진화에 영향을 미치는 과정을 장/단기로 구분함으로써 구별짓기의 효과를 보다 명확히 규명하고자 한다.

일본의 종교계는 2001년에 일어난 미국에서의 동시다발적 테러사건 이후, 적극적으로 평화를 위한 활동에 뛰어 들었다. 가령 뉴욕에 본부를 두고 있는 세계종교자 평화회의(WCRP)는 일본 종교교단들이 상당히 깊숙이 관여하고 있는 세계적 규모의 종교협력단체로서, 미국에 의한 보복공격의 억제를 꾸준히 그리고 강력하게 호소해 왔다. 1970년에 설립된 이 세계종교자 평화회의의 설립자 가운데 한 사람이자, 30여년에 걸쳐 지도적인 역할을 수행해 온 인물로서 입정교성회(立正佼成會)의 개조인 니와노 닛쿄(庭野日敬)를 들 수 있다. 니와노는 1930년에 법화경에 의한 선조 공양의 가르침을 깨달은 후, 불교의 핵심이 이타행 실천에 있다고 가르치면서 열심히 포교활동을 계속해 왔다. 1950년대 이후에는 종교협력과 사회참여에 적극적으로 전념했으며, 그 결과 입정교성회의 종교활동 전체 속에 평화운동이 큰 부분을 차지하게 되었다. 니와노는 불교의 가르침이야말로 평화를 실현하기 위한 핵심적인 사상을 담고 있다고 설한다. 즉 자연과 타자 사이에 조화로운 관계가 유지되도록 평화의 마음을 실현해야 한다는 가르침이 그것이다. 특히 분노와 질투와 공격적인 마음을 가지지 말며, 자비의 마음으로 타자를 대면하는 것이 중요하다는 것이다. 그는 이것이 우주 본래의 실재와 합치함으로써 가능하다고 주장한다. 이처럼 모든 것이 일치할 수 있다고 굳게 믿는 니와노는 종교협력이 평화실현에 있어 중요한 방법이라고 간주한다. 그런데 니와노가 '평화주의국가 일본'이라는 이념에 많은 부분을 의거하고 있기는 하지만, 이런 이념이 과거의 전쟁에 대한 일본의 충분한 반성에 입각한 것인지는 의문의 여지가 있다. 나아가 그는 상이한 종교간의 일치 가능성에 대해 다소 낙관적이며, 또한 불교와 동양사상이 평화를 지향한다는 이해에 대한 비판적인 성찰이 미약하다는 한계를 안고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 일본의 민속적 종교토양에서 생겨난 종교적 평화주의의 이상 및 실천으로서, 니와노 닛쿄와 입정교성회에 대해서는 충분히 검토해 볼 만한 가치가 있다고 여겨진다.

Unlike voice communication, data transmission, can be seriously affected by transient channel impairments. In some cases, timing synchronization between the transmitter and the receiver may not be recovered in the presence of these kinds of impairments without a forced reinitialization process. Therefore, it is highly desirable for data communication equipment to have an efficient timing loss detector for robust recovery. In this paper, one such detector is proposed for data transceivers haying a secondary channel embedded in the main channel. A known sequence multiplexed with the secondary channel data is repeatedly sent through the embedded secondary channel. For continuous watch-dog like operation, the detection is sequentially performed based on a modified up/down counter scheme. The performance of the proposed detector is analytically evaluated In closed form.

Modern society is rapidly developing into the Internet of Things and Big Data, and there are industries that develop even in the Corona era. However, the church is not developing and responding enough to the Corona era, and it is shaking the existence of the church itself. The essence of the church consists of worship, evangelism, education, service, and companionship. In the era of Corona, where non-face-to-face safety is important, the essence does not change, but efforts to embody the essence of the church in a socially responsible manner are needed. This paper discusses the social responsibility of the church in this respect, focusing on the five essential elements of the church. To this end, we examine the essential elements of the church and study the implementation methods suitable for the Corona era.

This paper's aim is to articulate the educational ideas and methodology of Confucian philosophy in contrast with western classical Philosophy. The ideas and methodology of western classical philosophy is manifested on "the similes of cave" in The Republic of Plato. "The similes of cave" teaches us that 1) philosophy begins with criticism of everyday's consciousness, 2) philosophy is based upon radical philosophical attitude, 3) philosophy request absolute knowledge of the ultimate, 4) philosopher enlightenments the people with absolute knowledge of the ultimate. Confucius said, "at fifteen, I had my mine bent on learning, ⋯⋯ at fifty I knew the decrees of Heaven, ⋯⋯ at seventy, I could follow what my heart desired, without transgressing what was right." This is a typical of philosophical life. Therefore, What the Great Learning as one of confucian Four Books represents, is 1) to illustrate illustrious Virtue, 2) to renovate the people, 3) and to rest in the highest excellence.

As large underground projects such as radioactive waste disposal, hot water and heat storage, and geothermal energy become influential, the study, which consider all aspects of thermics, hydraulics and mechanics would be needed. Thermo Hydro-Mechanical coupling analysis is one of the most complex numerical technique because it should be implemented with the combined three governing equations to analyze the behavior of rock mass. In this study, finite element code, which is based on Biot's consolidation theory, was developed to analyze the thermo-hydro-mechanical coupling in continuum rock mass. To verify the implemented program, one-dimensional consolidation model under the isothermal and non-isothermal conditions was analyzed and was compared with the analytic solution. The parametric study on two-dimensional consolidation was also performed and the effects of several factors such as poisson's ratio and hydraulic anisotropy on rock mass behavior were investigated. In the future, this program would be revised to be used for analysis of general discontinuous media with incorporating discrete joint model.

This study was conducted to describe the image of nurses in the context of COVID-19 pandemic by reviewing newspaper articles (n=451) from 11 major domestic daily newspapers. Analysis of monthly prevalence, favorability towards nurses, proportion of nurse coverage, and thematic analysis was conducted. Five themes and 9 sub-themes were derived from thematic analysis, and major themes are as follows: "Poor work environment"; "Nursing, 'The job of calling'"; "Prominent as a medical profession"; "Strict standards"; and "Expanding the realm of nursing" in order of frequency. In conclusion, media is still reporting a limited role of nurses. Therefore, in order to widen public perspective towards nurses, further academic activities that highlight various roles and positive aspects of nursing profession are needed.
