Moire Interferometry Measurement and Numerical Analysis for Hygroscopic Swelling of Al-Polymer Joint (Al-Polymer 접합체의 흡습팽창에 대한 모아레 간섭 측정 및 수치해석)

  • A simple method to evaluate the hygroscopic characteristics of polymer of microelectronic plastic package is suggested. To evaluate the characteristics, specimens were prepared, and the internally absorbed moisture masses were measured as a function of the absorbing time and calculated numerically. The hygroscopic pressure ratio was calculated by heat transfer analysis supported by commercial FEM code because the hygroscopic diffusion equation has the same form as the heat transfer equation. The moisture masses were then summed by the self developed code. The nonconductive polymers had quite different characteristics for the different lots, even though they were the same products. The absorbed moisture mass variations were calculated for several different characteristics, and the optimal curve of the mass variation close to experimental data was selected, whose solubility and diffusivity were affected by the hygroscopic characteristics of the material. The method can be useful in the industrial fields to quickly characterize the polymer material of the semiconductor package because the fast correspondence is normally required in industry. The weight changes in the aluminum-nonconductive-polymer joint due to moisture absorption were measured. The deformed system was also measured using the Moire Interferometry system and compared with the results of finite element analysis.

  • 폴리우레탄의 특징을 이용하여 폴리우레탄에 흡습능력 과 탈취능력을 향상시키고 향의 서방성 능력을 첨가하여 장루 환자들이 사용하기에 적합한 패드의 특징을 테스트 후 분석하였다. 수분의 흡습능력, 변의 냄새제거 정도의 탈취 능력 , 향의 지속성을 측정하였다. 폴리우레탄만의 특징으로도 흡습능력과 탈취능력이 있지만 주흡습제 보조흡수제를 첨가하고, 소취 제와 보조제를 첨가하여 더욱 개선된 흡습능력과 탈취능력을 확인하였다.

A Study of Hygroscopic Moisture Diffusion Analysis in Multimaterial System (이종 소재 접합체의 흡습 질량 확산 해석)

  • Heat transfer equation is first reviewed and then governing equation of moisture diffusion. Analogy scheme is applied to analysis the moisture absorption problem of polymers. It make possible to numerically analyze the diffusion problem for single medium by using commercial finite element code if it is under the isothermal loading condition. It is extended to special multimaterial system by introducing pressure ratio function, whose moisture characteristics of materials are proportional to temperature only. The weight changes of silicon-nonconductive-polymer joint model due to moisture absorption is measured and been very close to the numerical results as for single media with boundary condition with zero concentration, but yields numerical errors as for multisystem media.

  • Transient hygrothermal stresses in an infinitely long hollow cylinder subjected to heating in hygroscopic environments at the surfaces are studied. The equations of hygrothermoelasticity based on the plane strain assumption are formulated by considering the coupling effects between heat and moisture. A closed form solution for the transient hygrothermal stresses is obtained by using decoupling techniques and the method of separation of variables. Numerical results including distributions of temperature and moisture concentration are presented. Effects of transient hygrothermal characteristics are clearly shown in both displacements and stress distributions in the wall of hollow cylinder.

Moisture Sorption Characteristics of Model Food Powders (모형 식품 분말의 흡습 특성)

  • The purpose of this research was to provide fundamental data required for the process design of conveying, storage and processing of food powders. Potato starch, corn starch, wheat protein, soybean protein, and model food powders prepared by mixing potato starch and wheat protein were selected and their sorption characteristics such as equilibrium moisture content, monolayer moisture content, and sorption enthalpy were determined. Equilibrium moisture content and monolayer moisture content of high starch powders were higher than those of high protein powders, and the equilibrium moisture content decreased with temperature. The determination coefficients of the regression equations to predict the equilibrium moisture content of food powders were from 0.997 to 0.999. Sorption enthalpy experiments indicated that powder of high moisture content showed lower sorption than that of low· moisture content, and the high protein powder showed lower sorption than high starch powder.

  • The sorption characteristics of red pepper powder were analyzed in respect to its storing humidities and the types of powder product. The sorption rate of the powder was affected by the humidity values under which it was stored. At low relative humidity values below 70% RH the sorption equilibrium was easily attained, but at the higher humidity over 75% RH the equilibrium state was not reached even after a long period of storage. From the estimation of the sorption rate at arbitrary humidity an empirical equation was obtained; In ${\frac{dw}{dt}}=n\;ln(t)+ln\;c$, where w is moisture content(%) absorbed, t is time (hour) and n and c are empirical constants which were determined from empirical data. Particle sizes and drying methods of red pepper showed little effect on the sorption behavior.

  • The absorption characteristics and their physical properties of hot air, vacuum and freeze dried soybean curd powder were investigated. Absorption conditions were at 5, 15, and 25 t with $0.11\~0.93$ water activities. Equilibrium moisture content and the monolayer moisture content determined by prediction models showed highest value in the freeze dried soybean curd powder due to porous structure. Absorption energy decreased with increasing water activity was not affected by drying method. In the comparisons of the isothermal absorption models, Oswin model generally was the best fit model for isothermal adsorption of soybean curd powder.

  • A study was designed to investigate the sorption characteristics of binary mixtures of NaCl and sucrose or glucose stored at various relative humidities ranging from 46% to 92%. At low relative humidity below RH 65%, the sorption equilibrium was easily achieved, whereas at higher relative humidity values over 73%, all of the mixtures tended to cintinously absorb moisture with increase in storage time. A linear equation of log $({\frac{dw}{dt}})$ = a log(t) + log(b) was found to be valid between the sorption rate and storage time with respect to storage humidities. In sucrose-NaCl mixture, the slope showed a increasing tendency as the percentage of NaCl increased in the mixture, while that of glucose-NaCl mixture failed to show a definite trend. Plateaus were obtained when the amount of water absorbed was plotted on the X axis and the percent composition of mixture on the Y axis at different storage time. The shape of plateau was varied with respect to the kind of sugar-NaCl mixture, composition of the mixture and relative humidities. A linearity was found between log(1-Aw) and the amount of water absorbed over the Aw range 0.73-0.92 and the slope was affected by the kind and composition of sugar-NaCl mixtures.

  • 국내 여름철의 고온다습한 기후환경으로 인하여 온실 내부의 냉방 및 제습이 필수적인데, 온실 냉방 방식 중 증발냉각 시스템이 가장 효율이 높다고 알려져 있다. 하지만 증발냉각 시스템은 건조한 기후 지역에서 발달한 방식으로, 작물의 증산작용으로 인한 온실 내부 습도 상승에 따른 문제점이 발생되어 다습한 여름철 국내 기후에는 반드시 냉각과 제습이 동시에 필요하다. 따라서 증발냉각 방식 중 Fan and Pad 방식과 리튬브로마이드 수용액을 이용한 온실 냉방 및 제습을 위한 복합시스템에 관한 연구가 진행중이다. 현재 리튬브로마이드 수용액 제습 시 발생되는 발열량과 수용액의 무게변화와 같은 수용액의 흡습성질 대한 정확한 지표가 나타나 있지 않다. 이에 연구를 진행하기에 앞서 리튬브로마이드 흡습성질에 관한 데이터 자료가 필요하다고 판단되어 기초실험을 진행하였고, 본 연구에서는 Pilot Scale의 재생 순환시스템을 통해 리튬브로마이드 수용액의 흡습성질을 이용한 재사용 방안을 제시하였고, 시스템 내에서 외부투입공기와 작동유체의 흡습성질에 의한 반응 전후 온도변화 예측 모델을 수립하였다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 리튬브로마이드 수용액의 흡습성질을 분석하고, 이를 이 용한 재생 순환 시스템에 관한 연구를 진행할 예정이다.

Moisture Sorption Characteristics and a Prediction Model of Anchovy Powder with Particle Size (입자크기에 따른 분말멸치의 흡습특성 및 예측모델)

  • This study was carried out to estimate the moisture sorption characteristics and prediction model of anchovy powders with different particle size as above 80 mesh, 80-60 mesh and 40-60 mesh. The equilibrium moisture content had higher values at lower storage temperatures, and higher water activity. The monolayer moisture content calculated using the GAB equation showed a higher level of significance than that of BET equation. The estimated monolayer moisture content was 0.024-0.052 g $H_2O/g$ dry solid. The absorption enthalpy was calculated with different particle size and various water activities. It showed that the absorption energy was decreased with increasing water activity but no difference was found on particle size increasement. The fitness of the isotherm curve was shown to be in the order of Khun, Halsey, Caurie and Oswin model. The prediction model equations for the moisture content were established by ln(time), water activity, and temperature, respectively. The model equation will be helpful for future work on drying and storage of anchovy powder.
