Basic Study on the Development of Analytical Instrument for Liquid Pig Manure Component Using Near Infra-Red Spectroscopy (근적외선 분광법을 이용한 돈분뇨 액비 성분분석기 개발을 위한 기초 연구)

  • This study was conducted to measure Nitrogen(N), Phosphate($P_2O_5$), Potassium ($K_2O$), Organic matter(OM) and Moisture content of liquid pig manure by Near Infrared Spectroscopy(NIRS) and to develop an alternative and analytical instrument which are used for measurement of N, $P_2O_5$, $K_2O$, OM, and Moisture contents for liquid pig manure. The liquid pig manure sample's transmittance spectra were measured with a NIRS in the wavelength range of 400 to 2,500 nm. Multiple linear regression and partial least square regression were used for calibrations. The correlation coefficient(RSQ) and standard error of calibration(SEC) obtained for nitrogen were 0.9190 and 2.1649, respectively. The RSQ for phosphate, potassium, organic matter and moisture contents were 0.9749, 0.5046, 0.9883 and 0.9777, and the SEC were 0.5019, 1.9252, 0.1180 and 0.0789, respectively. These results are indications of the rapid determination of components of liquid pig manure through the NIR analysis. The simple analytical instrument for liquid pig manure consisted of a tungsten halogen lamp for light source, a sample holder, a quartz cell, a SM 301 spectrometer for spectrum analyzer, a power supply, an electronics, a computer and a software. Results showed that the simple analytical instrument that was developed can approximately predict the phosphate, organic matter and moisture content of the liquid pig manure when compared to the analysis taken by NIRS. The low predictability value of potassium however, needs further investigation. Generally, the experiment proved that the simple analytical instrument was reliable, feasible and practical for analyzing liquid pig manure.

  • It was studied to analyze the $CO_2$, CO, $SO_2$ standard gases of combustion gases by the open path FT-IR spectrometer with passive mode for remote analysis of air pollutant and volcano gases without IR lamp. As result, it was confirmed to have good linearity with more than 0.9 as correlation coefficients on the calibration curve of $CO_2$, CO concentration by MLR method. But in the case of $SO_2$, because the correlation coefficients were 0.88, the linearity could be lower. Finally, the concentration of three gases was predicted on in-site fire experiment under the condition of quantitative analysis. It could measure high $CO_2$ concentration as predicted result, but didn't measure the CO and $SO_2$. According to the result, it was possible to measure the combustion gases to long distance by only open path FT-IR spectrometer without infrared lamp.

Determination of the water content in citrus leaves by portable near infrared (NIR) system (근적외분광분석법을 이용한 감귤잎의 수분 측정)

  • The amount of water for the cultivation of citrus is different based on the growing period. The effect of water stress induces to enhance of sugar accumulation in citrus. The water content in the leaves of citrus can be a index for watering during cultivation. The purpose of this study is to determine the water content of citrus leaves non-destructively by using near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). Citrus leaves were prepared from 'Okitsu' Satusuma mandarin leaves (Citrus unshiu Marc.) ranging from 20.80 to 69.98% of water content by loss on drying method, and NIR reflectance spectra of citrus leaves were acquired by using a fiber optic probe. It was found that the variation of absorbance band 1450 nm from OH vibration of water depending on the water content change. Partial least squares regression (PLSR) was applied to develop a calibration model over the spectral range 1100-1700 nm. The calibration model predicted the water content for the validation set with a standard errors of prediction (SEP) of 0.97%. In order to validate the developed calibration model, routine analyses were performed using independently prepared citrus leaves. The NIR routine analyses showed good results with those of loss on drying method with a SEP of 0.81%. The rapid and non-destructive determination of the water content in citrus leaves was successfully performed by portable NIR system.

Determination of Degree of Retrogradation of Cooked Rice by Near-Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (근적외 분광분석법에 의한 밥의 노화도측정)

  • Near infrared reflectance(NIR) spectroscopy was used to determine the degree of retrogradation of cooked rice. Cooked rice samples were stored at $4^{\circ}C$ for 120 hours, and the degree of retrogradation was measured at every 6 hour during the storage time. Stored cooked rices were freeze-dried, milled and passed through a 100 mesh sieve. Enzymatic method using glucoamylase was used as reference method for the determination of the degree of retrogradation. Spectral differences due to retrogradation of cooked rice were observed at 1434, 1700, 1928, 2100, 2284 and 2320 nm. 32 samples of which moisture content were below 5% were used for calibration set, and 16 samples were used for validation set. High correlations were achieved between degree of retrogradation determined by conventional enzymatic method and by NIR with multiple correlation coefficient of 0.9753, and a standard error of calibration(SEC) of 3.64%. Comparable results were obtained with 3.91% of standard error of prediction(SEP), when the calibration equation was applied to independent group of samples of which moisture contents were in the range of calibration set. But when the calibration equation was applied to samples of which moisture contents were outer range of calibration set, SEP and bias were increased and correlation coefficient was decreased. The determination of degree of retrogradation was affected by sample moisture content. To determine degree of retrogradation of cooked rice by NIR using this calibration equation, it was suggested that sample moisture content should be controlled to below 5%.

  • LaF, KzFS1, LBO glass were manufactured successfully by using platinum crucible in LaF and using clay crucible in the KzFS1 and LBO. There was optically transparent and the refractive indexes were measured by minum deviation method of prism. LaF, KzFS1, LBO show that the refrective indexes are $n_d$ = 1.770 in LaF, $n_d$ = 1.603 in KzFS1, $n_d$ = 1.560 in LBO. The transmittance were obtained that LaF has 85%, and KzFS1 has 83% and LBO has 89% in visible range. These glasses have no any absorption spectrum under visible range. Therefore it has no any color.

  • III-V 화합물 태양전지는 실리콘 등 다른 태양전지에 비해 1sun상 30% 이상의 고효율을 갖고 있고 direct bandgap과 높은 이동도 등의 물질특성과 3족과 5족의 비율 조절로 같은 결정구조에서 에너지 bandgap이 다른 물질들을 만들기에 용이하여 태양전지 스펙트럼의 넓은 영역을 흡수할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 그러나 셀 자체의 물질이 실리콘에 비하여 고가여서 고성능이 요구되는 우주 인공위성 등에 적용이 되었지만, 2000년대 이후로 집광에 적용 가능한 태양전지의 연구를 거듭하여 2005년부터는 값싼 프레넬 렌즈를 이용하여 1 sun에 비해 500배 해당하는 빛을 셀에 집광하여 보다 효율을 증가시킴으로써 지상발전용에도 적용 가능한 셀을 형성하게 되었다. 더불어 태양전지의 효율을 증가시키기 위한 다양한 구조적 변화의 시도도 많이 이루어지고 있다. 최근 실리콘 태양전지의 표면에 texture 구조를 주어 높은 흡수율과 낮은 반사율을 갖게 함으로써 효율을 증가시키는 사례가 많아지고, III-V 화합물 태양전지도 texturing에 의해 증가된 효율을 발표한바 있다. 본 연구에서는 III-V 화합물 InGaP 태양전지의 window층으로 사용되는 InAlP 층에 Metal-assisted chemical etching (mac etching) 방법으로 texture 구조를 형성하여 etching 시간에 따른 InAlP층의 표면 변화와 반사율의 변화를 분석하였다.

Preparation and Characteristics of Nanometer-sized ZnO Powder by Solution Combustion Process for Photocatalyst Applications (용액 연소법에 의한 광촉매용 나노크기의 ZnO 분말의 제조 및 특성)

  • 광촉매용 ZnO 나노크기의 분말은 시작원료와 연료의 종류에 따라 용액연소법에 의해 제조되었다. 결정상은 XRD로부터 확인할 수 있었으며 분말의 하소온도는 TG 분석으로부터 결정되었다. 분말의 비표면적은 BET 법에 의해 측정되었으며 평균입자크기와 형태를 SEM과 TEM으로부터 조사하였다. 또한 분말의 순도를 조사하기 위해 적외선 흡수스펙트럼을 측정하였으며 광촉매 효율로서 은이 첨가된 사진현상액을 이용하여 은의 수거율을 측정하였다. 용액연소법으로 제조한 경우 시작원료와 연료에 관계없이 단상의 ZnO 분말을 쉽게 얻을 수 있었다. 그러나 합성된 ZnO 분말의 입자크기와 형태는 연료의 종류에 따라 서로 다르게 보였다. 특히, 연료로 glycine을 사용한 경우, ZnO 분말의 입자 형태는 균일한 나노 크기의 구형이었으나 carbohydrazide을 사용한 경우에는 판상과 같은 형태를 보였다. 이러한 결과를 기초로 하여 시작원료와 연료로 Zn(OH)$_2$와 glycine을 사용하여 합성된 ZnO 분말이 우수한 분말 특성을 보였으며 75nm의 입자크기와 94$m^2$/g의 비표면적을 보였다. 또한 사진현상액에 존재하는 은이 3분 이내에 완전히 제거되는 우수한 광촉매 성질을 보였다.

  • Gamma Cassiopeae has been observe at Yonsei University Observatory(YUO) for 31 nights in the period 1983-1987 and a total of 312 UBV observations(104 in each colour) was secured. Light curves of ${\gamma}$ Cas in V, B-V, and U-B have been constructed with the YUO data; among them we present selected light curves of 5 different long nights. Discussed are the general photometric behaviour of ${\gamma}$ Cas, especially in connection with B-V changes, V/R variations of $H\alpha$ and H$\beta$, and high velocity narrow component(hvnc) exhibited in the far UV. Six spectral image sets of $\varepsilon$Per archived on IUE satellite are reduced and their line profiles in C IV and Si IV resonance lines are analyzed to find out any change, but the evidence is unlikely.

  • Lasing characteristics of an Er-doped fiber laser have been investigated at various conditions of resonator reflectivities and pump powers. Variation of the laser wavelength with various mirror reflectivities has been compared with the theoretical analysis based on absorption, gain spectra, and resonator parameters. The maximum slope efficiency of 38% was obtained with the resonator's mirror reflectivities of 100% and 4% on both sides, and the threshold powers were varied from 7.8 mW to 5.6 mW, and lasing wavelengths were varied $1.532\mum to 1.563\mum and 1.558 \mum to 1.570 \mum$ for 6 and 15.8 mlong Er-doped fiber, respectively, as the resonator reflectivities were changed from 0.0016 to 0.9.to 0.9.

Type Ia 초신성의 조기형 모은하에 대한 분광관측

  • Type Ia 초신성을 이용한 거리측정은 암흑에너지의 존재를 암시하는 가장 직접적인 증거를 제시하며, 이것은 Type Ia 초신성의 밝기가 표준화된 광도에서 모두 같다고 하는 가정하에서 성립한다. 하지만 최근 표준화된 Type Ia 초신성의 광도가 모은하의 특성과 상관관계가 있음을 보이는 연구결과들이 등장하여 이러한 가정에 대한 의문이 제기되었다. Gallagher et al. (2008)은 조기형 모은하의 나이와 중원소 함량이 Type Ia 초신성의 밝기와 갖는 상관관계에 대하여 시도하였으나, 전체 은하의 표본갯수와 나이측정, 그리고 Hubble Residual을 구하는 과정에서 오차로 인한 한계가 있었다. 우리는 Type Ia 초신성에 나타나는 광도진화효과를 확인하기 위하여 가까운 거리에 있는 Type Ia 초신성의 조기형 모은하에 대하여 CTIO 1.5m, 보현산 1.8m, LCO 2.5 m 망원경의 긴 슬릿 분광기를 이용한 분광관측을 수행하고 있다. 관측된 모은하의 분광스펙트럼으로부터 방출선에 의한 영향을 제거한 뒤, 흡수선의 세기를 이용하여 Lick/IDS indices를 측정하고 있으며 이를Yonsei Evolutionary Population Synthesis model (YEPS)과 비교하여 은하의 나이와 중원소 함량을 추정하였다. 이 결과를 이용하여 Type Ia 초신성의 Hubble Residual과 항성종족의 나이 및 중원소 함량간의 상관관계를 통하여 Type Ia 초신성의 광도진화효과에 대해 분석할 예정이다. 현재까지 조기형 모은하 20여개에 대한 분광관측을 진행하였으며, 앞으로 긴 슬릿 분광기와 McDonald 2.7m 망원경의 VIRUS-P를 이용한 모은하의 분광관측을 추가로 수행할 예정이다.
