  • VVA(Variable Valve Actuation) 기술은 엔진의 흡기 밸브 작동 모드를 가변하여, 엔진의 연비와 성능을 향상시키는 차세대 엔진 기술이다. 흡기캠에 의해 밸브가 직접 작동되는 일반 엔진과 달리 VVA 엔진은 흡기캠, VVA기구, 모터, 제어기 등에 의해 밸브 작동 모드가 정밀하게 제어되므로, 엔진에서 발생되는 손실을 줄여 연비가 크게 향상되고 엔진의 최고 성능이 향상된다. 또한 VVA 엔진을 장착한 차량은 차량의 발진 응답성이 향상되고, 배기가스 배출량을 줄일 수 있어 친환경 저연비 차량을 실현하는데 핵심 차량부품기술이다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 VVA 기구의 적용을 위한 DC모터 및 제어기를 개발하였다.

Study of the effect of cleaning the intake manifold on common rail diesel engine and exhaust gases (커먼레일 디젤엔진의 흡기 매니폴더 클리닝이 배기가스에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Owing to highly developed industries and the use of fossil fuels, environmental problems becoming becoming pressing issues globally. Therefore, a study of automobile exhaust is urgently needed. Generally, air is sucked into the engine through the intake manifold. The aims of this study were to reduce the exhaust from used cars and increase the output by removing carbon deposits, which are considered a reason for the increasing exhaust and reduction of output, and the reduction of exhaust, variation of output and stability of idle speed were analyzed. The formation of carbon deposits within the suction manifold was investigated through a test device (KD147). In the intake manifold, the exhaust cleaning effect was confirmed.

An usefulness study on estimation and control method of EGR ratio using intake manifold pressure in an gasoline engine (가솔린엔진에서 흡기관 압력을 이용한 EGR율의 추정 및 제어 방법에 관한 유용성 연구)

  • The EGR system being reburned the part of the exhaust gas through intake system indicates more favorable emission characteristics to reduce NOx in a gasoline engine, but the case of inappropriate exhaust gas quantity induced from engine is fallen engine power caused by unstable combustion. In this study, we examined a method to predict EGR ratio according to various engine operation condition based by intake manifold pressure and confirmed such a prediction data through an experimental method. And after having constituted feedback EGR control algorithm in a base with such a prediction data, we acquired qualitatively similar results by having compared data provided through an EGR feedback control experiment with the data which calculated quantity of residual gas for the engine operation condition. Therefore, the applied algorithm and the system for feedback EGR control showed feasibility applied to real electronic control EGR technology.

Effect on Respiratory Function of the General Adult by Gait Training Based on the Way in a Speed Pattern (속도 방식에 따른 보행훈련이 일반 성인의 호흡기능에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of gait training based on the way in a speed pattern on the respiratory function of general adults. A total of 37 people were divided into three groups to conduct fast, standard, and interval gait training. For gait training, a treadmill was used. Three groups were trained for 60 minutes, three times per week, for a period of 6 weeks. Inspiration pressure, maximum inspiration volume, and the size of diaphragm movement were measured. Repeated Measures ANOVA was used to compare times, groups, and interactions. For inspiratory pressure, maximum inspiration volume, and size changes in diaphragm movement, there were significant differences depending on the time and interaction between times and groups. For size changes in diaphragm's movement, there was a significant difference between interval gait training group and standard gait training group. Therefore, interval gait training had effects on size changes in diaphragm movement.

  • In general, there are many sensors for fuel injection control such as an air flow sensor, an air intake temperature sensor, a cooling water temperature sensor, a throttle position sensor, and a motor position sensor. In this paper, we proposed a method for controlling the amount of fuel consumption in cars using fuzzy control technique by temperature change of an air intake temperature sensor and air-fuel ratio, the ratio of air and fuel mixture. In the proposed method, the amount of fuel injection is controlled by fuzzy membership functions and fuzzy inference rules established for air-fuel ratio, air intake temperature, and final fuel compensation, after computing air-fuel values using each amount of air intake and each amount of fuel injection. We verified that the proposed method is more efficient than conventional methods in fuel injection control from the results of the simulation program.

  • 본 논문에서는 하이브리드 차량 내부 전기모터의 등판 마력값과 회전 RPM, 흡기온도 센서의 온도 변화와 공기 및 연료의 혼합비율인 공연비에 대해 퍼지 제어 기법을 적용하여 차량의 연료 소비를 제어하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법에서는 초기 가속부분에서 등판 마력간과 회전 RPM을 퍼지제어 규칙에 의해 전기모터와 엔진의 사용비율을 제어하고, 엔진이 가동될 때 각각의 공기유입량과 연료 분사량을 이용하여 공연비 수치를 구한 후, 공연비, 흡기온도, 최종 연료 보정량에 대해 설정된 피지 소속 함수와 퍼지 추론 규칙에 따라 차량 연료를 제어한다. 시뮬레이션을 통하여 실험한 결과, 제안된 퍼지 제어 기법을 이용한 엔진 및 연료 제어 방법이 퍼지기법을 적용하지 않은 제어방법보다 평균연비가 개선되어 제안된 연료 제어 방법이 효율적임을 확인하였다.

The Changes of Breathing Pattern Observed During Maximal Exercise Testing in the Patients with Chronic Airflow Obstruction : the Correlation Between the Change of Inspiratory Duty Cycle and the Degree of Airflow Obstruction (만성기도폐쇄 환자에서 최대운동부하시 관찰되는 호흡양상 - 기도폐쇄정도와 흡기책임비율변화 사이의 상관관계 -)

  • Background : Normal humans meet the increased ventilatory need during exercise initially by the increase of tidal volume (TV) and later by the increase of respiratory frequency (Rf). And the inspiratory duty cycle (Ti/Ttot) is also increased more than 50% for the compensation of the decrease of respiratory cycle provoked by the increase of respiratory frequency. The patients with chronic airflow obstruction show rapid and shallow breathing pattern during exercise because of the decreased ventilatory capacity and the increased dead space ventilation. However, the studies about the change of inspiratory duty cycle are only a few and there is no literature about the relationship between the change of inspiratory duty cycle and the degree of airflow obstruction. Methods : The subjects were the twelve patients with chronic airflow obstruction (CAO) and ten normal people. The incremental exercise test was done. The increase of work load was 10 W in CAO group and 25 W in normal control group. The analysis of the results was done by the comparison of the parameters such as minute ventilation (VE), TV, Rf, physiologic dead space (Vd/Vt), and inspiratory duty cycle between the two groups. Each parameters were compared after transformation into % control duration base that means dividing the total exercise time into five fractions and % control duration data were obtained at rest, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and max. Statistical analysis was done by repeated measure ANOVA using SAS program. Results : The changes of VE and TV were significantly different between two groups while the change of Rf was not significant. The decrease of Vd/Vt was significantly low in CAO group. Ti/Ttot was markedly increased from 38.4 + 3.0% at rest to 48.6 + 4.5% at max in normal control group while Ti/Ttot showed little change from 40.5 + 2.2% at rest to 42.6 + 3.5% at max. And the change of inspiratory duty cycle showed highly good correlation with the degree of airflow obstruction (FEV1%). (r=0.8151, p < 0.05). Conclusions : The increase of Ti/Ttot during exercise observed in normal humans is absent in the patients with CAO and the change of Ti/Ttot is well correlated with the degree of airflow obstruction.

  • The purpose of this study is experimentally to analyze that intake port swirl, injection system and turbocharger have an effect on the engine performance and the emission characteristics in a V8 type turbocharged intercooler D.I. diesel engine of the displacement 16.7ι, and to suggest the improvement of engine performance. Generally to enhance engine power, TCI diesel engine is put to practically use turbo-charged intercoler in order to increase boost efficiency which is cooled boost air. As results of considering the factors of the intake port of swirl ratio 2.25, compression ratio 17.5, re-entrant 8.5$^{\circ}$ combustion bowl, nozzle hole diameter ${\Phi}$0.33*3+${\Phi}$0.35*2, nozzle protrusion 3.18mm, injection timing BTDC 12$^{\circ}$CA and turbo charger (compressor 0.6A/R+46Trim, turbine 1.0A/R+57Trim) is the best in the full range of operating in the engine performance and the exhaust characteristics of NO$\_$x/ concentration. Therefore their factors are appropriated as intake system, injection and turbocharger system.

The Cooling Effect Using Pad & Fan in Greenhouse (패드엔팬을 이용한 온실냉방효과)

  • 패드엔팬을 이용하여 물 공급량, 팬 회전속도의 변화에 따른 온실 냉방효과 시험한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 가. 패드에 흐르는 물 공급량별로 일중 11:00-16:00경에 물 공급량이 분당 60$\ell$이상 공급하면 8.0~9.5$^{\circ}C$의 온도차를 낼 수 있으며, 팬을 1170rpm으로 회전시킬 경우 6.0~9.$0^{\circ}C$의 온도차를 낼 수 있었다. 나. 온실과 팬출구 공기의 온도차는 일중 14:30~16:00 경에 60$\ell$이상의 물을 패드에 공급하는 경우 6.0~7.8$^{\circ}C$ 온도 강하 효과가 있고 팬을 1170rpm으로 회전시킬 경우에는 외기온 28$^{\circ}C$일 때 3$0^{\circ}C$이하로 온도를 강하시킬 수 있었다. 다. 패드에 흘리는 물의량을 60 $\ell$/min 이상을 공급하여 주면 30분당 20~28$\ell$의 물을 증발시킬 수 있다. 배출팬 회전속도가 1170rpm일 경우에 30분당 20~30$\ell$의 물을 증발시키는 것으로 나타났다. 라. 본시험에 사용된 패드엔팬의 흡.배기의 엔탈피변화는 8:30이전에는 흡기가 배기보다 온도가 낮아 엔탈피가 양(+)의 값을 나타났고, 8:30 이후에는 흡기가 배기 보다 온도가 높아 -2.0~-4.OkJ/kg의 엔탈피 차만큼 냉각효과가 있었으며, 냉방효율을 65~80% 수준으로 나타났다. 마. 본시험결과로 패드엔팬의 냉기 공급방식만 개선된다면 이동식인 박스형 패드엔팬도 냉방장치로 사용 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

Effect of Pressure Rise Time on Tidal Volume and Gas Exchange During Pressure Control Ventilation (압력조절환기법에서 압력상승시간(Pressure Rise Time)이 흡기 일환기량 및 가스교환에 미치는 영향)

  • Background : Pressure rise time (PRT) is the time in which the ventilator aclieves the set airway pressure in pressure-targeted modes, such as pressure control ventilation (PCV). With varying PRT, in principle, the peak inspiratory flow rate of the ventilator also varies. And if PRT is set to a shorter duration, the effective duration of target pressure level would be prolonged, which in turn would increase inspiratory tidal volume(Vti) and mean airway pressure (Pmean). We also postulated that the increase in Vti with shortening of PRT may relate inversely to the patients' basal airway resistance. Methods : In 13 paralyzed patients on PCV (pressure control 18$\pm$9.5 cm $H_2O$ $FIO_2\;0.6\pm0.3$, PEEP 5$\pm$3 cm $H_2O$, f 20/min, I : E1 : 2) with Servo 300 (Siemens-Elema, Solna, Sweden) from various causes of respiratory failure, PRT of 10 %, 5 % and 0 % were randomly applied. At 30 min of each PRT trial, peak inspiratory flow (PIF, L/sec), Vti (ml), Pmean (cm $H_2O$) and ABGA were determined. Results : At PRT 10%, 5%, and 0%, PIF were 0.69$\pm$0.13, 0.77$\pm$0.19, 0.83$\pm$0.22, respectively (p<0.001). Vti were 425$\pm$94, 439$\pm$101, 456$\pm$106, respectively (p<0.001), and Pmean were 11.2$\pm$3.7, 12.0$\pm$3.7, 12.5$\pm$3.8, respectively (p<0.001). pH were 7.40$\pm$0.08, 7.40$\pm$0.92, 7.41$\pm$0.96, respectively (p=0.00) ; $PaCO_2$ (mm Hg) were 47.4$\pm$15.8, 47.2 $\pm$15.7, 44.6$\pm$16.2, respectively (p=0.004) ; $PAO_2-PaO_2$ (mm Hg) were 220$\pm$98, 224$\pm$95, 227$\pm$94, respectively (p=0.004) ; and $V_n/V_T$ as determined by ($PaCO_2-P_E-CO_2$)/$PaCO_2$ were 0.67$\pm$0.07, 0.67$\pm$0.08, 0.66$\pm$0.08, respectively (p=0.007). The correlation between airway resistance and change of Vti from PRT 10% to 0% were r= -0.243 (p=0.498). Conclusion : Shortening of pressure rise timee during PCV was associated with increased tidal volume, increased mean airway pressure and lower $PaCO_2$.
