The Study of Visualization for Moving Particles in the Water Using Artificial Neural Network (인공신경망을 이용한 수중 충돌입자의 가시화 연구)

  • In this paper, we proposed a visualization system with ANN algorithm that traits the motion of particles that move colliding in the water, where we got a great deal of variable information and predicts the distribution of particles according to the flowing of water and the pattern of their precipitation. We adopted ART2 to detect sensitively the collision between particles in this visualzation. Various particles and their mutual collision influencing the force such as buoyancy force, gravitational force, and the pattern of precipitation are considered in this system. Flowing particles whose motion is changed with the environment can be visualized in the system presented here as they are in real water.

BLOCS: Block Correlation Aware Sequential Pattern Mining based Caching Algorithm for Hybrid Storages (BLOCS: 블록 상관관계를 인지하는 시퀀스 패턴 마이닝 기반 하이브리드 스토리지 캐슁 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose BLOCS algorithm to find sequence of data that should be saved in cache device of hybrid storage system which uses SSD as a cache device. BLOCS algorithm which uses a sequence pattern mining scheme, creates a set of frequently requested sectors with respect to requested order of sectors. To compare the performance of the proposed scheme, we introduce Distance (DIST) based scheme, Request Frequency (FREQ) based scheme, and Frequency times Size (F-S) based scheme. We measure the hit ratio and I/O latency of different caching schemes using hybrid storage caching simulator. We acquired booting workload along with ten scenarios of launching applications and use the workloads as input to the cache simulator. After experiment with booting workload, we find that BLOCS scheme gives hit ratio of 61% which is about 15% higher than the least performing DIST scheme.

  • Thermal Marangoni flow has been observed inside droplets on heated surfaces, finally resulting in a coffee stain effect. This study aims to visualize and control the thermal Marangoni flow by employing periodic vertical vibration. The variations in the contact angle and internal volume of the droplet as it evaporates is observed by using a combination of continuous light and a still camera. With regard to the internal velocity, the particle image velocimetry system is applied to visualize the internal thermal Marangoni flow. In order to estimate the internal temperature gradient and surface tension on the surface of a droplet, the theoretical model based on the conduction and convection theory of heat transfer is applied. Thus, the internal velocity increases with an increase in plate temperature. The flow directions of the Marangoni and gravitational flows are opposite, and hence, it may be possible to control the coffee stain effect.

  • The process of obtaining scientific knowledge is conducted through research. Researchers deal with the uncertainty of science and establish certainty of scientific knowledge. In other words, in order to obtain scientific knowledge, uncertainty is an essential step that must be performed. The existing studies were predominantly performed through a hedging study of linguistic approaches and constructed corpus with uncertainty word manually in computational linguistics. They have only been able to identify characteristics of uncertainty in a particular research field based on the simple frequency. Therefore, in this study, we examine pattern of scientific knowledge based on uncertainty word according to the passage of time in biomedical literature where biomedical claims in sentences play an important role. For this purpose, biomedical propositions are analyzed based on semantic predications provided by UMLS and DMR topic modeling which is useful method to identify patterns in disciplines is applied to understand the trend of entity based topic with uncertainty. As time goes by, the development of research has been confirmed that uncertainty in scientific knowledge is moving toward a decreasing pattern.

  • 하천 합류부는 서로 다른 지형학적 특성과 수리학적 특성을 가지는 두 개의 하천이 하나로 합쳐지는 구간으로 급격한 흐름의 변화 및 퇴적물의 유입과 수리학적 지형변화가 발생하는 구간이다. 합류부 구간에서는 물질의 종류 또는 온도차로 인해 밀도 차이로 유체의 흐름이 발생하게 되는데 이것을 밀도류라고 한다. 밀도차이에 의해 성층이 생긴 수체혼합거동을 파악하기 위해서는 본류 및 지류의 일정 구간을 포함하는 합류부 구간에 대한 정밀한 계측 및 관찰이 필요하다. 이러한 수체 혼합에 대한 종합적인 분석은 유속장 및 유량정보를 취득하여 파악할 수 있지만, 성층류가 흐르는 하천의 서로 상이한 물리적 특성과 수질특성을 가지는 수체의 혼합양상 및 그에 따른 물질혼합양상을 파악하는데 한계가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 합류부 구간에서의 수온 분포를 통하여 밀도류를 파악하고자 한다. 하천의 광범위한 데이터 중 연직 자료와 수표면 자료를 취득하였고, 이를 통해 합류부의 성층현상을 확인하고자 하였다. ADCP를 보트 측면에 설치하여 저속운행으로 수리량을 측정하는 방식과 YSI를 이용해 측선설치 없이 측선 선정 후 보트를 이용하여 흐름에 직각인 방향으로 이동하며 실시간 농도를 측정하는 방식으로 얻은 연직자료 중 수온, EC 등의 직독식 센서 데이터 값을 사용하여 수온차에 따른 수체혼합 패턴을 분석하여 합류부의 혼합 양상을 분석 하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 기존 수질측정의 한계였던 1차원적인 측정결과가 나타내는 분석결과를 2차원적으로 보완이 가능하며, 비교 분석한 결과를 토대로 밀도류에 따른 혼합양상 결과가 지니는 혼합패턴을 분석한다면 향후 하천 하류구간의 취수장 취수 시스템에 많은 도움을 줄 뿐만 아니라 합류부 구간의 혼합패턴에 따라 수층 내 성층구간의 현황조사 및 혼합특성 파악을 통해 관리방안제시에 사용될 것으로 사료된다.

Toward understanding learning patterns in an open online learning platform using process mining (프로세스 마이닝을 활용한 온라인 교육 오픈 플랫폼 내 학습 패턴 분석 방법 개발)

  • Due to the increasing demand and importance of non-face-to-face education, open online learning platforms are getting interests both domestically and internationally. These platforms exhibit different characteristics from online courses by universities and other educational institutions. In particular, students engaged in these platforms can receive more learner autonomy, and the development of tools to assist learning is required. From the past, researchers have attempted to utilize process mining to understand realistic study behaviors and derive learning patterns. However, it has a deficiency to employ it to the open online learning platforms. Moreover, existing research has primarily focused on the process model perspective, including process model discovery, but lacks a method for the process pattern and instance perspectives. In this study, we propose a method to identify learning patterns within an open online learning platform using process mining techniques. To achieve this, we suggest three different viewpoints, e.g., model-level, variant-level, and instance-level, to comprehend the learning patterns, and various techniques are employed, such as process discovery, conformance checking, autoencoder-based clustering, and predictive approaches. To validate this method, we collected a learning log of machine learning-related courses on a domestic open education platform. The results unveiled a spaghetti-like process model that can be differentiated into a standard learning pattern and three abnormal patterns. Furthermore, as a result of deriving a pattern classification model, our model achieved a high accuracy of 0.86 when predicting the pattern of instances based on the initial 30% of the entire flow. This study contributes to systematically analyze learners' patterns using process mining.

  • Since the financial crisis broke out, liquidity has become the critical issue in housing construction industry. In order to secure liquidity, it is prerequisite to precisely forecast cash flow. However, construction companies have failed to come up with a systematic process to manage and forecast cash flow. Until now, companies have solely relied on the prediction of profits and losses, which is carried out as they review business feasibility. To obtain more accurate cash flow forecast model, practical pattern of payments should be taken into account. In this theory, basic model that analyzes practical housing payment collection pattern resulting from prepayments and arrears is described. This model is to complement conventional cash flow forecast scheme in the phase of business feasibility review. Analysis result on final losses in cash that occur as a result of prepayment and arrears is considered in this model. Additionally, in the estimation of construction cost in the phase of business feasibility review, real construction prices instead of official prices are applied to enhance accuracy of cash outflow forecast. The proportion of payment made by a bill and changes in payment date caused by rescheduling of a bill are also factored in to estimate cash outflow. This model would contribute to achieving accurate cash flow forecast that better reflect real situation and to enhancing efficiency in capital management by giving a clear picture with regard to the demand and supply timing of capital.

  • In previous papers, it proved relevant to using together with EFCI and ER switch for effective ABR traffic managements. It also applied to EFCI and ER switch algorithm, that consider ABR traffic as poisson pattern. However, in recently network environment, it has been proved about traffic pattern, that is similar to self-similar pattern than poisson pattern. In this paper, we will compare previous poisson pattern with self-similar pattern under ATM network.

  • 본 논문에서는 전자 개인 비서 시스템(PEAS)의 일부인 일정관리 시스템을 화자인식 기술을 적용하여 구현하였다. 본 시스템은 음성을 패스워드로 개인을 확인하여 각 개인의 일정을 관리해 주는 것으로 보안성과 함께 사용자에게 편의성을 제공한다. 사용자 등록을 자유롭게 하였으며 인식에서는 계산 시간 등을 고려하여 DTW 알고리즘에서 얻을 수 있는 경로정보를 이용해 하나의 참조패턴을 구성하도록 하였다. 또한 시간 흐름에 따라 인식율 저하를 방지하기 위해 실험결과에 따라 일정기간 뒤에 자동으로 참조패턴이 갱신되도록 하였다.
