  • Human behavior and emotions are influenced by experiences accumulated through the past and present. To realize artificial intelligence technology that understands and sympathizes with humans, cognitive computing technology that automatically analyzes human behaviors, habits, and emotions associated with specific situations and uses past data and domain knowledge is required. In this study, we examine the latest research trends on human-understanding cognitive computing technology that recognizes human behavior and emotions, stores them as experience data, and provides services by analyzing the stored data. Further, we introduce high-quality data collection research in real-life and services for improving physical and mental health. We also review key issues essential for developing these technologies.

  • Recently, the terms of the fourth industrial revolution, deep running, artificial intelligence, post-human, and trans-human are frequently heard. These terms suggest that the rapid development of science and technology will make the future different from the present. However, rather than giving priority to striking a different future phenomenon, I think it is first of all to understand what kind of future technology or phenomenon is in the present stage. Therefore, in this study, in particular, the actual cases of linking or combining science and technology to the human body are increasing. So if you want to call this human being what kind of characteristics you have. To do this, I first looked at the meaning of trance, transformative, and trans humanism. Next, I looked at the relationship between science and technology and transhumanism. Next, we analyzed four transformative characteristics in the film Elysium and examined how it affects the understanding of transhumanism. This process will be the starting point for understanding post-human and post-humanism in the future.

  • As a new library system, the 'human library', in which a man becomes an information resource, provides a library service through face-to-face communication in delivering knowledge and information to users. Since the human library exchanges information with 'human books', it shows some characteristics that are different from traditional library services and connotes some meanings as a new library service. In that, this study focuses on the human library of Seongbuk-Gu, Seoul. Specifically, in order to enhance our understanding of the human library, this study looks into the theoretical underpinnings and the background of human library in Seongbuk-Gu, examines the case of the human library in Seongbuk-Gu, analyzes the factors that influence the human library, and makes some suggestions for improvement.

  • With the advent of the 4th industrial revolution, technologies for improving human ability are being developed. In particular, human augmentation is developing in the form of not only detecting the ability to understand internal and external conditions of humans, but also detects one's deficiencies and enhances their abilities. With the explosive growth and proliferation of extended reality, human augmentation technology has the potential to be utilized in various aspects of our lives. To analyze recent human augmentation technology in forms of digital enhancements, this paper examines the history and concept of human augmentation, which began with the trans-humanism. Furthermore, we identify core characteristics of human augmentation as user state quantification, cognitive ability measurement and analysis. Then we present how these characteristics should be used in extended reality based human digital augmentation for enhancing cognitive abilities. Lastly, we discuss future directions on feasible applications and development direction of digital human augmentation.

  • The emergence of post-human beings in the 4th Industrial Revolution era led to an epistemological shift in the need for reflection on new relationships with non-human beings, away from human-centered modern humanism. For this reflection, post-human sensibility to empathize and understand the surrounding world is required. In order to cultivate this sensibility, we analyzed the case of art works that can think about and experience the post-human era based on the criteria of 'animal-becoming', 'earth-becoming', and 'machine-being' presented by post-humanist researcher Bridotti. Since the work of art reflects the spirit of the era, we confirmed the positive aspect of the text that can reflect and experience the post-human era. This study is meaningful as a basic study by presenting art works that can be used in art education to improve post-human sensitivity.

  • Recently, various augmented reality(AR) methods for monitoring situations in a remote factory have been proposed. The 2D manual with a classic method is not intuitive to understand and has limitations to provide to interact with objects to be repaired in the remote factory. In our paper, we present a guide method based on a virtual human expressed in augmented reality for the remote environment. Also, the remote factory environment was periodically captured through 3D reconstruction, our virtual human was adaptively matched to the built 3D environment. According to this paper, our method makes it possible to perform repairs quickly with the feeling of being with an expert. and it is possible to provide a visualized guide for troubleshooting in various fields such as factories, offices, medical facilities, and schools in remote environments.

  • The purpose of this study is to seek a new understanding of human beings by examining, through the various types of futuristic humans in SF narratives, the changes of human condition and identity, raised by the discussion on the posthuman today. The rapid development of science and technology blurs the line between humans and machines, predicting the birth of the 'new human posterior to the human'. The advancement of technology enables the production of 'human beyond the biological human' through the combination of humans and machines, and humans are becoming more mechanized. On the other hand, machines are gradually developing to the stage of resembling not just the exterior body structure, but the thinking abilities and emotions of human beings. However, by colliding with the traditional view of human beings, artificial changes to the human condition as a result of cutting-edge technology demand a new perspective on the meaning of a new being and changes in human conditions. Therefore, the study examines how human conditions and perceptions have changed in accordance with the evolution of science and technology, and then explores the direction of co-evolution between humans and machines through the various types of futuristic humans that appear in the SF narratives, as well as the potential of futuristic humans as the new subject.
