The Effect of Heuristic Cues on the Intention to Watch Contents in Searching Information on YouTube (유튜브 내의 휴리스틱 단서들이 정보검색 콘텐츠 시청의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to examine the role of IT features as heuristic cues in choosing a content on YouTube. According to the heuristic-systematic model, people tend to rely on heuristic cues when they have to choose and process useful information quickly so that they could save time and reduce demands for thinking. Based on this line of reasoning, this study posits that YouTube users rely on certain IT features as heuristic cues in choosing contents before they actually watch them. Based on the prior literature and interviews with YouTube users, we develop a research model in which social endorsement, self-presentation, and interactivity are identified as potential determinants of users' attitude toward contents, which in turn influence their intention to watch them. To empirically test the research model, we conduct a laboratory experiment and a follow-up survey. The results of data analysis show that social endorsement for the content, YouTube creator's self-presentation, and interactivity have significant and positive effects on their attitude toward the content, leading to their intention to watch it. This study suggests that IT features on YouTube could be wisely utilized to increase the chance that users choose a particular content out of many competing contents when they search certain information on YouTube.

  • 본 논문에서는 제약기반 KBQA를 위한 질문분석 기술에 대해서 소개한다. 핵심개체와 속성에 대한 연결 모호성을 해소하기 위해서 세 종류의 제약정보 활용을 제안한다. 세 종류의 제약은 핵심개체에 기반한 제약, 의미정답유형에 기반한 제약, 속성단서에 기반한 제약이다. 제약을 위해서는 질문 내에서 핵심개체와 속성단서를 인식하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 규칙과 휴리스틱에 기반한 핵심개체와 속성단서 인식 방법에 대해서 소개한다. 핵심개체와 속성단서 인식 실험은 구축된 229개의 질문을 대상으로 수행하였으며, 핵심개체와 속성단서가 모두 정확히 인식된 정확도(accuracy)가 57.21%이고, KBQA 대상질문에서는 71.08%를 보였다.

  • This paper's objective is the analysis of eye-movement recording with visual perception process, the inference of heuristic guidelines with human information processing, and the generation of design principles for practical works. For this objective, it was experimented on that the user's eye-movement recording of interactive media with the Eyegaze Interface System, and analyzed the visual perception process of top-down & bottom-up processing, and inferred the design principles from human information process. Our results provide the implications of design through the analysis of the user's eye-movement recording that were changed according to each menu depth of the interactive media. And, it is proposed that the new concept of heuristic guidelines based on each stage of action that is related to human factors.

  • As an alternative to the growing problem of weather anomalies, users are using mobile weather apps to predict the weather. Even though it provides clear information, the user makes mistakes in forecasting the weather. For this reason, The purpose of this study is to find elements that can be prepared for the volatile weather through mobile application. Jakob Nielsen's "heuristic" evaluation found weaknesses in the application. Then I proceeded to analyze it from a behavioral economics standpoint. As a result, the two applications had various functions and accurate information. However, user accessibility was low and focused on 'information delivery'.

  • In Accordance with the change of design paradigm, the design process has changed into user-centered workflow from designer-centered workflow. Since the purpose of the past research methods is quantitative analysis or the understanding of the present situation, it doesn't fit in practical design that expressed the user's needs. Therefore, the real data about what they see and how they feel will be useful for the user-centered design. This paper's objective is to analyze eye-movement recordings and pupil size of user for mobile interface design. For this objective, it was experimented on that the user's eyegaze data of using a mobile phone by the Eyegaze Interface System, and analyzed three levels of user's task performance. The results provided evaluation of new developed and old existing interface design of mobile phone by the experiment of eye-movement recordings and pupil size. The benefit of results is compliment of the limitation of current usability test through visual characteristics of design and qualitative data of user.
