정보 통신 기술의 발달이 인간 생활에 많은 편리함을 가져다 주었지만 개인의 정보 유출이나 소음 공해 등의 여러 가지 문제점도 야기 시켰다. 특히 휴대 전화 통화시 사용자의 개인적인 정보들이 공공 장소에서 그대로 노출이 되고, 또 그러한 통화로 인해서 타인에게 소음 피해를 주기도 한다. 이러한 병폐를 막기 위해서 휴대 전화 사용자는 최대한 작은 소리로 통화를 하되, 상대방에게 의도하고자 하는 바를 확실히 전달하여야 한다. 그러기 위해서는 휴대 전화에 근접 통화가 가능해야 하며, 일정한 방향의 방향성을 가져서 주위의 잡음에 대해 독립적으로 작동하도록 해야한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 기능을 향상시키기 위하여 음향학적 이론을 바탕으로 휴대전화에 사용되어지는 마이크로폰을 새로 설계, 제작하고 그 성능을 시험하였다. 아주 작은 소리로 근접 통화를 할 때 발생하는 팝핑(popping) 현상이 최소한이 되도록 미세관 배열을 적용하였으며, 외부 소음 영향을 줄이기 위하여 방향성을 증폭시키고자 음원의 위치에 초점을 맞추는 기술을 적용하였다. 방향성 증폭은 4개의 마이크로폰 사용과 근거리 음원의 방향성 증가를 위한 신호 처리기술을 적용하였다. 이 기술의 적용 효과를 실험을 통하여 검증할 수 있었다.

휴대전화 사용의 대중화로 인하여 개개인의 휴대전화로 수신되는 스팸메시지의 양도 덩달아 증가하게 되었다. 이것은 휴대전화 사용자가 불법광고 노출의 원인이 되고 있다. 이에 많은 스팸메시지 차단기법이 제시되었지만 이는 텍스트기반의 문자메시지에 특화되어있어 문자가 포함되어있는 이미지스팸에는 차단이 어렵다는 문제점이 존재 한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 휴대전화로 오는 이미지메시지 중 스팸이미지를 검출해 내는 모바일 스팸이미지 필터링 시스템을 제시하고자 한다. 제시하고자 하는 시스템은 스팸이미지를 분석하여 이미지의 패턴을 검사하여 특정 패턴이 포함된 이미지에 대해서 스팸이미지로 분류하여 필터링하게 됨으로써, 실제 휴대전화로 수신되는 스팸이미지를 이용한 실험을 진행하였다. 그 결과 기존 텍스트기반 스팸필터링시스템에서 할 수 없었던 스팸이미지 필터링을 할 수 있음을 확인 하였다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the predictors of students depress, Interaction anxiety, school adjustment on cellular phone addiction of teenagers. The subjects for this study were 613 teenagers composed of 249 middle school students, 337 high school students in Daejeon. The data was conducted by using a correlations coefficient and the multiple regression analysis. According to the analysis result, correlations among measured variables of students depress, interaction anxiety, school adjustment, cellular phone addiction were significant. Secondly, the multiple regression analysis result showed that students depress, peer relations, and interaction anxiety variables to most greatly explain cellular phone addiction. These results indicate that cellular phone addiction related to depress, interaction anxiety of teenagers.

이 연구는 사회관계망의 형태와 구성원에 관한 정보를 분석하여 모바일로 서비스하는 것에 관한 연구이다. 사람들은 얽히고 설킨 다양한 인간 관계를 갖고 있다. 인간 관계를 유지하기 위해 여러 채널을 통해 커뮤니케이션을 하게 된다. 실생활에서 갖게 되는 인간 관계의 형태와 가장 비슷한 형태의 커뮤니케이션 채널은 휴대전화이다. 사회관계망 이론의 관점에서 보면 휴대전화의 사용은 기존의 인맥에서 친밀도가 적은 사람에게는 영향이 크지 않지만 친밀도가 높은 사람에게는 더욱 친밀하게 만드는 영향을 준다. 이 연구에서는 휴대전화의 통화상대, 통화시간, 통화량 등의 정보가 나타나있는 통화기록에 기반하여 일정기간 동안 통화한 상대들을 추출하였다. 통화기록의 정보를 사회 관계망 분석 도구인 UCINET으로 분석한 결과 휴대전화를 매개로 한 사회관계망의 형태가 자아 중심적 관계망과 같은 형태를 지니고 있다는 사실을 도출해냈다. 그리고 자아 중심적 관계망의 분석 기법을 이용하여 관계망의 중심에 있는 자아와 통화상대와의 관계를 분석하였다. 또한 통화상대들의 휴대전화 통화기록을 통해 서로 관계가 있는지에 대해 알아보았다. 그 결과 자아의 인맥 네트워크 안에 있는 사람들을 그룹화하고 그들의 나이, 성별, 직업에 의해 어떠한 특징을 갖는 그룹인지 분석하였다. 이러한 연구는 휴대전화를 통해 자신의 인간 관계 형태를 파악하여 관계를 관리하고 유지할 수 있는 새로운 모바일 서비스 개발을 위해 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

휴대전화는 용도적인 측면에서 PC와 유사해 지고 있으며 네트워크 기술의 발달로 다 수의 파일들을 다룰 수 있을 것으로 전망되고 있다. 그러나 휴대전화는 PC와는 다른UI특징을 가지고 있으며 이러한 차이는 다 수 파일의 관리나 이와 관련된 복잡한 태스크 수행 시 문제점이 예상된다. 본 연구는 사용자의 선험적 지식을 바탕으로 휴대전화의 UI특징에 적합한 효용성 있는 파일관리 UI가 무엇인지 알아보는 것에 목적이 있다. 이에 따라 사용자의 선험적 지식이 있는 윈도우탐색기의 사용행태 조사를 통해 자주 수행하는 태스크와 메타포어를 분석하여 휴대전화와 비교, 문제점 과 해결방안을 도출하였다. 이를 바탕으로 프로토타입을 제작하여 사용자 평가를 통해 가로방향의 페이지 분할 방식과 * 또는 #키와의 중복을 활용한 단축키 제공, 일괄적인 옵션 메뉴의 제공은 사용자가 익숙해져 있는 4방향 네비게이션 키와 12 숫자 키패드를 입력장치로 사용하는 휴대전화에서 파일관리 시 효용성이 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Cyberbullying has a negative influence on teens. However, the academic approach and try is still an its early stages in spite of the issue of the seriousness and importance. Accordingly, this study conducted a survey of 1,112 elementary, middle and high school students. According to the survey, Internet bullying violence experience was from 20.3% to 39.0%, victim experience from 11.0% to 23.4%, mobile phone bullying violence experience was from 15.9% to 44.1%, victim experience from 5.5% to 21.8%. The factors affecting Internet bullying violence experience were gender, academic stress, internet accessibility, anonymity, use time of internet. The factors affecting mobile phone bullying violence experience were school table, academic stress, mobility, anonymity, use time of mobile phone. Finally, this study grasped the relation between Internet and mobile phone bullying. It was found that Internet bullying violence victim experience had something to do with mobile phone bullying violence victim experience. Especially, Internet bullying violence experience had a lot to do with mobile phone bullying violence experience, Internet bullying victim experience had a lot to do with mobile phone bullying victim experience.

This is a case study of a wellbeing feature for mobile phone. Though it is not related communication feature which is major functionality in mobile phone, it becomes a popular feature by users who want to manage private information and life style. To make a feature for practical usage, Personas is used for development and decision. A late 20 years old lady persona is developed to provide context and background information. Based on the persona, usage scenarios and needed contents were designed. From this case study, suggest a design guideline for personalization features in perspective of user experience design.

The wide and growing use of cellular phones has raised the question about the possible health risks associated with radio-frequency electromagnetic fields. It would be helpful for phone users to blow the exposure levels during cellular phone use. But it is very difficult to recognize the amount of exposure, because measuring accurate level of RF is a difficult matter. In this study, we developed a model to estimate the exposure level and the individual risk of exposure by utilizing the available informations that we can get. We used such parameters as usage time a day, total using period, distance between cellular phone and head, slope of cellular phone, hands-free usage, antenna pulled out or not SAR(Specific Absorption Rate) of cellular phone, and flip or folder type. We proposed a model presenting individual risk of RF exposure from level 0 to 10 by using a neural network.

In the past, objective usability was one of the most important aspects when user used system. But nowadays user's subjective experiences are getting more critical element than objective usability in HCI(human-computer interaction). Most people own their mobile phone and use it frequently these days. It is especially important to make user's subjective experiences more positive when using devices like mobile phones people frequently carry and interact with. This study investigates whether the interfaces which express the emotion give more positive experiences to users. Researchers created mobile phone prototypes to compare the effect of mechanical melody feedback(the major auditory feedbacks on mobile phones) and emotional voice feedback(recorded human voice). Participants experienced four kinds of mobile phone prototypes(no feedback, mechanical melody feedback, emotional voice feedback and dual feedback) and evaluated their experienced usability, hedonic quality and preference. The result suggests that person's perceptional fun and hedonic quality were getting increased in the phone which gave the emotional voice feedback than the mechanical melody feedback. Nevertheless, the preference was evaluated lower in the emotional voice feedback condition than the others.

Purpose: This study was done to develop a cell phone addiction scale for Korean parents of young children, and to evaluate the reliability and validity of the developed scale. Methods: The scale was developed through construction of a conceptual framework, generation of initial items, verification of content validity, selection of secondary items, preliminary study, and extraction of final items. Participants were 465 parents and 178 children. Data were analyzed using item analysis, factor analysis, criterion related validity, internal consistency, and split-half reliability. Results: Twenty items were categorized into three factors explaining 60.3% of total variance. Factors were named as withdrawal - 4 items, loss of control - 9 items, and persistence - 7 items. Scores for the scale were significantly correlated with self-control, impulsiveness, cell phone use, and cell phone addiction of children as measured by a scale for Korean children. Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the 20 items was .94, and Guttman coefficient was .87. Scale scores identified children as high risk users, at risk users, or average users by standard scores. Conclusion: The results suggest that the cell phone addiction scale for Korean parents is a reliable and valid instrument to measure cell phone addiction in young children.
