This study in on the development of analytic model that can predict the hysterisis response of steel-concrete under the periodic loads. Analytic value and experimental value including developed model were compared and interpreted. From the comparing interaction between torque and shear was focused on the its importance.

Many numerical analysis tools for predicting penetration speed of sheet pile are thought to be unreliable because they overestimate penetration speed for shallow depth of penetration. In order to overcome the defects of numerical analysis, lateral vibration model of sheet pile was suggested and energy consumption due to lateral vibration of sheet pile was estimated. Also, load reduction factor which explains reduction of vibratory driving force due to lateral vibration was introduced.
An approximate method for the calculation of creep deflections of reinforced concrete beams under sustained service loads is proposed. The position of neutral axis and strain and stress distribution of fully cracked section after creep is determined from the requirements of strain compatibility and equilibruim of a section and then the long-term flexural rigidity of fully cracked section is determined based on the new neutral axis. The long-term flexural rigidity of uncracked section at the level of the reinforcenment. The approach of calculating long-term effective flexural rigidity and defections is similar to the current American Concrete Institue procedure for calculating effecitve moment of inertia and short-term deflections. The accuracy of the analysis is verified by comparison with several experimental mesurements of beam deflectons. The result is good between the theotetical values and mesured valus.
A new modified full scale double tee slabs with the length of nib plate - 1,500 mm were suggested, designed, and experimentally evaluated up to the loading of flexural failure. This slabs were composed of the tee section which was same to original PCI double tee and the plate section which was modified in a new shape, and the prestressing force was applied at the bottom of tee section only. This specimens were made from the domestic precast factory. The safety and serviceability of the modified nib plate with the dapped ends were evaluated up to the ultimate flexural strength of tee section. As the experimental loading increased, the flexural crackings developed first in the bottom of the slab and they changed to the increased flexural shear and inclined shear crackings in the nib and dapped portion of the double tees. The suggested modified double tee slabs failed in ductile above the design loading with many evenly distributed flexural crackings. The thickness of nib plate - 250 mm does not show any cracking under the service loading and show several minor flexural cracking up to the ultimate state of tee portion. The proposed specimens were satisfied with the strength and ductility requirements in the design code provisions in the tests. Additional experimental tests are required to reduce the depth and tensile reinforcement of nib plate concrete for the practical use of this system effectively.
This paper describes an experimental study on the mechanical characteristic and behavior of a structure that has a joint between the reinforced concrete (RC) member and steel plate concrete (SC) member. An out-of-plane flexural test on an L-type test specimen and in-plane shear test on an I-type test specimen were carried out by means of repeated cyclic loading until their failure. Based on the results, the former showed pull-out failure mode of anchored vertical bars while the latter exhibited flexural failure mode of the basement member. These results reveal that the maximum capacity of the specimens is 96% and 82%, respectively, compared with the theoretical value.

Recent days composite bridge dock is gaining attraction due to many advantages such as light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance, and high durability. In this study, composite deck models of hat, box and triangular section type wore fabricated with VARTM Process. For these models, three point flexural tests wore carried out both in strong and weak axis. The experimental results were compared with each other to determine efficient section profile. It has been demonstrated that composite sandwich deck has strong potentials to be used as bridge deck in the new construction and rehabilitation works.

Carbon fiber reinforced plastic(CFRP) plate Is one of the alterative materials for soengthening of reinforced and prestressed connote members due to excellent strength and light weight In this paper, the behavior of beams strengthened with CFRP plate and CFS(Carbon fiber sheet) is observed and analyzed from the test results. Especially specimens with thick plate is tested when large moment and large shear lone appear in same position. The main failure mode is a peeling-off of the CFRP plate near the loading points due to flexural-shear crack, Because of this failure mode, failure load is not linearly proportional to the thickness of CFRP plates. When beam is wrapped with CFS around oかy loading point it does not influence on the failure loads. Depending on the loading pattern, it is necessary to consider different design criteria for reinforced concrete members with external reinforcement. When line moment and large shear force appear in same location, maximum thickness may limit to 0.6mm and ratio between moment of strengthened beam and moment of unstrengthened beam is proposed 1.5-2.0. In order to use the plate of thicker than 6mm, CFS may be extended to the location which moment of strengthened beam is 1.5 times than moment of unstrengthened beam.
A study on the evaluationof the proper spacing and required bending rigidity of cross beams in composite multiple I-girder bridge without lateral and sway bracing system was performed. For the purpose, a two-lane 40m simple span and 40+50+40m continuous sample bridge with four girders was designed. For the sample bridges, structural analysis under the design loads including dead load before and after composite, live load, and seismic loads has been performed. The material and geometric nonlinear analysis under dead load before composite has also been performed to evaluate lateral buckling strength of the steel-girder-cross beam grillage. Based on the two phase anlayses, proper spacing and bending righidity of cross beams were proposed.

The long-term flexural behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) beams strengthened with an iron based-shape memory alloys (Fe-SMAs) by a near-surface mounted (NSM) method was evaluated. The pre-strained values of 2% and 4% and introduced prestressing force by an activation of a shape memory effect of the Fe-SMA strengthening material were considered as experimental variables. Deflections at the center of the RC beams were measured for six months after the 1 tonf concrete weight was loaded on the beam. Experimental results show that the deflections decreased because of the increased flexural stiffness of beams strengthened with the Fe-SMA strips. On the contrary, with increased pre-strained values, the deflection increased due to stiffness reduction of the strengthening material. It was confirmed that the specimens incorporating the prestressed force showed the deflection reduction of about 30%, compared to the ones without the prestressed force.

This paper is a preliminary study to apply the lightweight concrete slabs reinforced with GFRP (glass fiber reinforced polymer) bars to the bridge deck slabs or some other concrete structures. So, some different behaviors between the conventional steel reinforced concrete slab and the lightweight concrete slab reinforced with GFRP bars were investigated. For this purpose, a number of slabs were constructed and then the three point bending test and numerical analysis for these slabs were performed. The flexural test results showed that the lightweight concrete slabs reinforced with GFRP bars were failed by the shear failure due to the over-reinforced design. The weight and failure load of the GFRP bar reinforced lightweight concrete slabs were 72% and 58% of the steel reinforced concrete slab with the same dimensions, respectively. Results of the numerical analysis for these slabs using a commercial program, midas FEA, showed that the load-deflection curve could be simulated well until the shear failure of the slabs, but the applied loads and the deflections continuously increased even beyond the shear failure loads.
