Evaluation of Fatigue Life and Structural Analysis for Dish-Type and Spoke-Type Automobile Wheels (승용차용 디쉬 타입과 스포크 타입 휠에 대한 구조 해석과 피로 수명 예측)

  • Prior to the experimental and production stages of goods, the strengths should be evaluated in the design stage. The introduction of commercial codes at the design stage gives benefits such as cost and time economies in the production and strength evaluation. In this study, structural analysis and fatigue analysis are carried out using ANSYS modeling of the 3D geometry of the wheel. In a comparison of dish-type and spoke-type wheels, it is shown that the deformation and maximum equivalent stress for the dish-type wheels are lower than those for spoke-type wheels. Nevertheless, spoke-type wheels are often used because they are light and have exhibit excellent cooling performance. Furthermore, according to the results of life analysis, aluminum wheels show improved resistance to fatigue compared to steel wheels.

A Study on the Design of Wheel for Car on Human Sensibility Analysis (자동차 휠 디자인에 대한 감성 분석 연구)

  • Modern consumers expect the goods which is sewed more sensitive and emotional satisfaction. It is necessary to apply the knowledge of sensibility analysis to the design of car. The design of wheel for car is regarded as important because consumers want to have unique cars and spend on decorating their cars. This study is to understand the image of consumer's idea about the design of wheel for far through the sensibility analysis that is understood from a part of new design way. According to consumers'needs and emotion, the images of 'harmonious', 'fresh' and 'strong' are representative for the design of wheel for car. The wheel of spoke type stands for the image of 'harmonious', the wheel of mesh type for the image of 'fresh' and the wheel of dish type for the image of 'strong'. Therefore, the emotional image that consumers have of the product is extracted by the sensibility Analysis. In turn, the suggestion of a design direction that satisfies the consumers is possible.

Impact Dynamic Analysis for the Wheel-Type Landing Gear System of Helicopter (헬리콥터 휠타입 착륙장치 충돌특성 연구)

  • In this study, the dynamic characteristics for the wheel-type landing gear system of helicopter have been analyzed. Nonlinear multi-body dynamic models of the landing gear system are constructed and the equations of motion, kinematics and internal forces of shock strut are considered. In addition, flexibility effect of the wheel axle with equivalent beam element is taken into account. General purpose commercial finite code, SAMCEF which includes MECANO module is applied. The results of dynamic simulation for various landing and weight conditions are presented and compared with each other. Based on the results, characteristics of impact dynamic behaviors of the landing gear system are practically investigated.

  • 본 논문은 방송의 가상스튜디오 제작 환경에서 많이 사용되는 회전 또는 스크롤 메뉴를 진행자가 직접 휠(회전보드)을 움직여, 진행자와 그래픽과의 자연스러운 상호작용이 가능한 인터랙티브 가상현실 방송 제작 어플리케이션을 제안한다. 이를 위해, 우리는 물리적인 휠의 움직임을 인지할 수 있도록 관성측정장치(IMU: Inertial Measurement Unit)를 사용하였으며, IMU 센서가 부착된 휠을 크로마키로 처리하기 위해 푸른색의 페인팅된 물리적인 휠을 사용하였다. 본 어플리케이션을 통해서 가상스튜디오의 연기자는 물리적인 휠의 움직임을 느끼면서 휠을 회전시킴으로써 별도의 연습이나 훈련 없이도 직관적으로 회전하는 여러 타입의 가상 그래픽 메뉴를 제어할 수 있다. 우리는 상하 스크롤, 원형 회전, 스크롤 연동형 메뉴 어플리케이션들을 개발하였으며, 이것을 방송에 적용하여, 연기자와 휠에 연동한 그래픽과의 인터랙션이 자연스럽게 합성됨을 확인하였다.

Effect of the Inner Pressure on a Hybrid Composite Flywheel Retor (하이브리드 복합재 플라이휠 로터에 작용하는 내압의 효과)

  • The delamination in the filament-wound composite flywheel rotor often lowers the performance of the flywheel energy storage system. A conventional ring type hub usually causes tensile stresses on the inner surface of the composite rotor, resulting in lowering the maximum rotational speed of the rotor. In this work, the stress and strain distributions within a hybrid composite rotor were derived from the two-dimensional governing equation with the specified boundary conditions, and an optimum pressure at the inner surface of the rotor was proposed to minimize the strength ratio and maximize the storage energy. A split type hub was introduced to apply the calculated optimum pressure at the inner surface, and a spin test was performed up to 40,000 rpm to demonstrate the performance of the split type hub with radial and circumferential strains measured using a wireless telemetry system. From the analysis and the test, it was found that the split type hub successfully generates a compressive pressure on the inner surface of the rotor, which can enhance the performance of the composite rotor by lowering the strength ratio within the rotor.

  • This paper presents a three dimensional modeling and simulations of operation and running of a wheel loader using the ADAMS program. A wheel loader consists of a bucket, a boom, a crank, a front frame, a rear frame, a bucket cylinder, two boom cylinders, two steering cylinders, nine spherical joints, six universal joints, five translation joints, three inline joints, a revolute and a fixed joint. Judging from the actual degrees of freedom of the wheel loader, proper kinematic joints are selected to exclude redundant constraints in the modeling. Through the running simulation over a bump with the three dimensional modeling, the joint reaction forces are calculated.

  • 본 논문에서는 초전도 플라이휠 에너지 저장장치에 저장된 에너지의 손실을 평가하였다. 초전도 베어링은 저어널 타입이며 수직축형태로 플라이휠 시스템을 구성하였다. 초전도 플라이휠에 사용하는 전동발전기의 회전자를 영구자석을 사용하는 경우 코어의 사이즈 및 체적 변화에 따른 회전 손실과 진공에 따른 풍손이 회전손실에 미치는 영향을 평가 하였다.

  • The traveling system of wheel type excavator, that is applied to drive method by friction of transmission, has many problems about transmisson. It need to settle the problem which is occurred at wheel type excavator and to study continuously variable transmisson which is used with only travel motor. This paper base on mathmetical modeling for travel motor and travel motor of wheel type excavator is designed continuously variable transmisson system without transmisson by direct control method.

  • Wheel dynamometers are used to measure dynamic load that is conveyed from the road to a vehicle while driving. In this paper, two types of six-component wheel dynamometers utilizing shear deformation and bending deformation were designed and evaluated. Prior to designing the shear and bending type wheel dynamometers, the shear and bending deformation behaviors of the basic structure of the wheel dynamometer itself were analyzed using finite element analysis. Strain analysis was performed repeatedly in order to obtain a similar output sensing strain for each load component. The design was modified with a bridge circuit in order to minimize coupling strain. The results indicated that the shear type dynamometer was expected to obtain stable characteristics due to uniform strain distribution while the bending type dynamometer was expected to obtain high-quality sensitivity performance due to consistent output sensitivity.

  • Wheel loaders are utilized not only on construction sites, but also for general purposes, such as manufacturing and transportation. Therefore, during the basic design stage of this type of working device equipment, the designer should consider specifications as well as working performance. In this research, a characteristic analysis program was developed for use in the basic design stage of construction equipment using multibody dynamics analysis. In addition, through the optimization of its links, improvements to the lifting capability of a Z-bar-linkage-type wheel loader were suggested. Using the developed program and process, it is possible to reduce the time required for the basic design of the working device.
