Development of a Self Balancing Electric Wheelbarrow (자기 균형 기능이 있는 외발 전동 손수레 개발)

  • In this paper, a new type of electric wheelbarrow is proposed and developed. The developed electric wheelbarrow is equipped with an attitude reference system(ARS) sensor, which consists of 3-axis acceleration sensor and 2-axis Gyro sensor so that it can estimate pitch angle and roll angle. When an operator tilts the wheelbarrow up and down, the pitch angle is detected. The sign of the pitch angle is interpreted as the operator's intention for moving the wheelbarrow forward or backward and the controller drives the wheel of the wheelbarrow with the velocity according to the magnitude of the detected pitch angle. A cargo box of the wheelbarrow is designed to rotate and is controlled to maintain level always, so an operator can handle the electric wheelbarrow easily and safely. The wheelbarrow consists of an in-wheel motor, a DC motor, motor drives, an ARS sensor considering economical use in industrial field. Three experiments are performed to verify the feasibility and stability of the electric wheelbarrow.

  • Microfluidic reactors have been made to achieve significant development for the generation of new functional materials to apply in a variety of fields. Over the last decade, microfluidic reactors have attracted attention as a user-friendly approach that is enabled to control physicochemical parameters such as size, shape, composition, and surface property. Here, we develop a centrifugal microfluidic reactor that can control the flow of fluid based on centrifugal force and generate multifunctional particles of various sizes and compositions. A centrifugal microfluidic reactor is fabricated by combining microneedles, micro- centrifuge tubes, and conical tubes, which are easily obtained in the laboratory. Depending on the experimental control param- eters, including centrifuge rotation speed, alginate concentration, calcium ion concentration, and distance from the needle to the calcium aqueous solution, this strategy not only enables the generation of size-controlled microparticles in a simple and reproducible manner but also achieves scalable production without the use of complicated skills or advanced equipment. Therefore, we believe that this simple strategy could serve as an on-demand platform for a wide range of industrial and academic applications, particularly for the development of advanced smart materials with new functionalities in biomedical engineering.

  • A new slip power recovery system applying a switch mode converter to the rotor circuit of the wound rotor induction machine is proposed and investigated in this paper. With the analysis of the steady-state performances of the proposed system, it can be shown that the speed can be controlled by the duty ratio of the converter switch and the several characteristics of a conventional system can be also improved. In particular, the low power factor and the harmonic components in the line current, which are the main disadvantages of the conventional system, is significantly improved, and linear speed regulation can be obtained. Theoretical and experimental results are presented and illustrated to demonstrate the satisfactory working of the proposed system.

  • This work proposes the wearable and intelligent system to control mobile vehicle instead of user. The system having the ability of assistance as well as portable can be applied to various controller. It is possible to observe the state of mobile vehicle and have a good command of robot instead of human. In this paper, the wearable system operating the mobile vehicle by deciding the velocity and rotation angle that are demanded for collision avoidance with the obtained driving information from mobile vehicle is implemented. To make the proposed wearable system have an intelligence, the hierarchical fuzzy logic and neural network are used.

  • 유리섬유강화복합재료로 제작된 배관/덕트 조인트의 오버레이 자동접합을 할 수 있는 로봇이 개발되고 있으며 로봇의 구성 중 하나인 자동적층장치의 작업 시작 위치와 제자리 회전 오차를 극복할 수 있는 기준선에 대한 실시간 영상처리가 필요하다. 기존의 선 검출 알고리즘들은 연산량이 많아 실시간 처리가 어렵거나 전체 영상에서 잡음에 취약한 단점이 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 FRP 배관 및 덕트 내 색상 실선 인식 알고리즘의 효율적인 실시간 영상처리 방법에 관하여 소개하고 배관 내 라인 제어를 위한 선의 실제 거리를 계산하고 출력하는 방법을 나타내었다.

  • In this paper, FPGA It/w and S/W Embedded system for LDM remote control is implemented. XScale CPU is used on developed system and in communcation ethenet and serial is used. CPU interface with H/W LDM rotation and to drive LDM FPGA logic is implemented, to transmit LDM data from long distance command packet is composed, for S/W Embedded linux is used to design linux device driver and linux application program. This S/W is run by module so by loading this module to linu)( file system it can do any movement. Also by compiling Embedded linux to the system it can lower the price of the system. By using this H/W and S/W theory it can be used on any other embedded system.

This generation of electric power system operated Set Up Range Motor according to Set Up value that operator manufactures by hand circumvolve, and generation of electric power output load derision is consisted by internal action including Motor Therefore, in this research passively output load operated Turbine Motor Drive equipment that can have existing Turbine Load Set Motor Performance developing Digital Drive Unit device design. Also control algorithm implementation and existing Turbine Load Set Motor Drive and connection possibility through designed controlling system to connect basis function that decide development output load with Digital Drive Unit that designed also with existing Motor Drive Unit and can be operated.

Implementation of an Intelligent Automatic Parking Assist System (지능형 자동 주차 지원 시스템의 구현)

  • In the paper, we propose an intelligent automatic parking assist system. To realize an automatic parking, first, the prospective parking position and the location of a vehicle should be recognized. Second, the system should compute a path which introduces the parking position precisely with avoiding any obstacles. Third, the handle should be controlled so that the vehicle moves through the path. To calculate the location of the vehicle and its surroundings, the system applies the camera image method to transforming input images to the plane map. It also uses the inertial navigation method which recognizes the position and the direction of a moving vehicle by using a kinematic model of the vehicle. To generate a path of the vehicle, the simple path method and the Bezier spline method are tested. The divided arc method which generates multiple paths is also tested. We apply a method which makes the system choose the best path with multiple objective functions. We introduce the virtual road method, as a solution for the problem of mechanical time delay, to have the vehicle followed the designated path.

Study of Speed Profile for Dynamic Stability of EOTS (EOTS의 동적 안정성을 위한 속도 프로파일에 대한 연구)

  • Modern drones are equipped with miniaturized mission equipment capable of performing various tasks such as surveillance and reconnaissance. Consequently, these mission equipment are exposed to disturbances like wind loads and motor rotations, which can lead to instability in the operation of the Electro-Optical Targeting System (EOTS). Specifically, simple step inputs for changing the line of sight in EOTS can cause abrupt changes in speed, inducing overshoot and potentially creating instability along with other disturbances. To address this, a velocity profile was designed so that the angular velocity moves in a trapezoidal shape when changing the EOTS line of sight. A Double-loop controller was designed to apply this profile as an input to the external loop receiving position feedback. The system's stability was then compared, and the velocity profile was optimized within a stable range by varying maximum speed and acceleration.

  • This paper proposes a novel analysis method on the driving performance of LIM (linear induction motor) by FEM (finite element method). First, a linear model was converted with a rotation model to perform the dynamic analysis for a long time. Through the FEM model, the slip parameter for the control algorithm could be induced effectively. The LIM for the traction system was performed at a constant V/f in the region of constant torque, and a constant V and variable f in the region of constant power. Several slip characteristic curves according to the voltage and frequency were calculated by FEM in advance. The driving performance was then induced by interpolating the slip characteristic curves according to the load of the vehicle.
