A Study on the Original Form and Change of Dokrak-dang and Gye-jeong (독락당과 계정의 원형과 변화과정 연구)

  • Source criticism is very important on the research of architectural history as well as general history. In this point this research studied on the original form and change of Dokrak-dang that is very important building in architectural history of Korea. The result is as in the following. Dokrak-dang that Whoijae built at first was three by two kans size that had daecheong of four kans and ondol-bang of two kans. Gye-jeong that Whoijae built was three kans size that had daecheong of two kans and ondol-bang of one kan. After Whoijae died, Dokrak-dang's ondol-bang was changed to maru between 1555 and 1556 and ondol-bang in west side and stack room was added in 1630. Gye-jeong was changed to ㄱ-shaped floor plan that was added up two kans from three kan's 'ㅡ'-shaped one.

  • Diversification of combustion fuel is the demands of the times and biomass is the most attractive option since it can contribute to the prevention of global warming at the same time. Due to the national renewable obligation, generally called Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS), many power companies are considering direct combustion of biomass or co-firing with coal. In order to use biomass as a fuel, informations of its combustion characteristics and ash related problems should be investigated. In this study, combustion performance of biomass was assessed in a bubbling fluidized bed combustor, and ash characteristics of various biomass fuels were studied with standard test method.

  • 본 연구에서는 쌀겨를 이용하여 메조포러스 실리카를 제조하였다. 제조된 메조포러스 실리카는 X-선 회절 패턴, TEM, FT-IR, 질소흡착등온선 측정을 통하여 SBA-15 특성과 동일하게 나타났으며, 결과적으로 메조포러스 실리카 물성에 가장 큰 영향을 나타내는 것은 반응온도, 시간이며, 쌀겨회재의 규소 용출은 소성온도가 낮을수록 증가하며 규소원에 따라 각기 다른 특성을 나타냄을 합성된 메조포러스 실리카의 물리화학적 특성으로부터 알 수 있었다.

  • Dok-Rak-Dang and Hyang-Dan, upper class houses of Chosun Dynasty on the early and mid 16th century, are generally known as specific style houses among traditional residences in Korea. Architectural singularities of these two residences are summarized as double facades, uncertain circulation, self-secluding construction, dilemmatic structure, and rotative circulation that are far from architectonic principle of that time. Characters of Deconstructionist Art, deconstruction of binary oppositions, double session, displacement without reversal, and paradox, are very similar to those of two residences both as a material phenomenon and as a metaphysical idea. Thus, this paper attempt to analyze architectural singularities of Dok-Rak-Dang and Hyang-Dan with the perspective of Deconstructionist Art Theory.

  • This paper discusses the Historical significance of Li-thought at the Hoejae, Lee-Eonjeok's Bongseonjabui. In this study, I tried to derive the value and meaning in the history of the Chosun Dynasty by examining the comparison between the Bongseonjabui and Book of Ancestor-memorial Ceremonies written in the 16th century The following is a summary of the Historical significance of Li-thought of Bongseonjabui. First, it is the first concrete result of the Chosun Dynasty concerning the Family Rituals. Second, it is characterized not only the description of actual procedures but also the explanations of both the theory and reality in Ancestor-memorial Ceremony. Third, it is an example of harmonizing with the national system and the customs of time by applying to the situation of Chosun society at that time. Fourth, it is an example that focuses on the essential meaning of the Ancestor-memorial Ceremony, not the attitude of one side the Zhu Xi's Family Rituals as in the later books.

  • This thesis is for clarifying a few aspects of 'Kyung(敬)' ideology and figures appearing in Yeheon(旅軒)'s poem. This ideology and figures is a kind of a imaginative thing that a poet designed. This feature is a very important subject of Yeheon(旅軒)'s poem world, so that we are going to make it clear. First, we focused his aspirations of virtual uncontaminated areas and found out his big store of life wisdom and knowledge. The second is we thought about a displaying a emphasis of proud spirit[氣像] in his own poem world, and we found that he saw things from an unworldly point of view. Finally we talked about several features of Yeheon(旅軒)'s poem world. Now we have to compare Yeheon(旅軒)'s poem and any other Dohakpa(道學派) poets for example Toegye(退溪), Hwejae(晦齋) etc. And we must clarify the whole poem world of Dohakpa(道學派). In the end, I'm so sure that we will get a prospect of their literature.

  • 지구온난화 현상과 화석연료의 고갈에 대한 두려움 때문에 재생에너지에 대한 관심이 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 대체에너지, 합성가스, 화학 원료, 오일 등으로 전환할 수 있는 바이오매스 활용에 대한 연구도 활발히 진행되고 있다. 바이오매스의 열화학적 전환 공정에는 열분해, 연소, 가스화 등이 이용되고 있다. 특히 열분해는 syringol, levoglucosan, guaiacol등의 고부가가치 물질들을 생산하기에 적합한 기술로 인정받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내에서 쉽게 구할 수 있는 톱밥, 폐목재 등의 바이오매스의 열화학적 전환 특성을 분석하였다. 사용된 바이오매스의 열분해 특성은 열중량 분석기 및 열천칭 반응기를 통해 분석하였으며 이를 통해 유동충 반응기(지름 0.2m, 높이 2m)를 설계 및 제작하였다. 반응온도 및 산소 농도가 증가할수록 levoglucosan 등의 고부가가치 물질들의 수율이 낮아지며 페놀류가 급격히 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 회재 성분이 높은 왕겨의 바이오오일 수율은 톱밥보다 $30\%$이상 낮게 나타났다

$CO_2$ adsorption over zinc oxide impregnated NaZSM-5 synthesized using rice husk ash (왕겨회재를 이용하여 합성된 NaZSM-5의 zinc oxide 함침에 의한 이산화탄소 흡착)

  • Zinc oxide (5, 10 and 15 wt%) impregnated NaZSM-5 zeolite synthesized using rice husk ash as silica source was tested for $CO_2$ adsorption. The materials were characterized by XRD, SEM-EDS, $CO_2$-TPD and BET techniques. The heat of the reaction (${\Delta}$Hr) derived from DSC for ZnO(10%)/NaZSM-5 was found to be 495 Btu/lb and the maximum $CO_2$ adsorption capacity of ZnO(10%)/NaZSM-5 is 140 mg/g of sorbent. Extraction of silica from the agricultural waste, rice husk and its use in the zeolite synthesis is an added advantage in this study. Hence, from the study it is concluded that zinc oxide impregnated NaZSM-5 could be treated as novel material for $CO_2$ adsorption as they were found to be regenerable, selective and recyclable.

  • In the reactor for the american standard test method (ASTM) D5757-95 with swirl injection nozzles, the attrition characteristics of sand was investigated. The change of particle size distribution and weight of fine particles were compared to identify the effect of swirl injection nozzle on attrition. The fine particles due to particle attrition increased with increasing gas velocities. The weight of fine particles due to jet attrition was changed with angle of swirl injection nozzle. The fine particles decreased with decreasing the angle of swirl injection nozzle. Also, the change of particle size distribution increased with increasing the number of swirl injection nozzles at the same flow rate.

  • This study attempts to understand and explain how "Directed Attention Restorative Environment (DARE)" is managed and fostered in "Gang-Hak (講學)" and "Yu-Sik (遊息)" spaces both inside and outside of Oksan Seowon Confucian Academy, Gyeongju. Directed Attention is a pivotal element in human information processing so that its restoration is crucial for effective thinking and learning. According to Kaplan & Kaplan's Attention Restoration Theory, an environment, in order to be restorative, should have four elements: 'Being Away,' 'Extent,' 'Fascination,' and 'Compatibility.' We could confirm OkSan Seowon Confucian Academy has an inner logic that integrates two basically different spacial concepts of "Jangsu" and "Yusik" and thus fosters the Attention Restorative Environment. Particularly, the Four Mountains and Five Platforms (四山五臺) surrounding the premises provides an excellent learning environment, and is in itself educational in terms of the Neo-Confucian epistemology with "Attaining Knowledge by way of Positioning Things (格物致知)" as its principle precept, and of its aesthetics with "Connectedness with Nature" as its central tenet. This study attempts to recapture the value of Korea's cultural heritage concerning the Human/Nature relationship; and it may provide useful insights and practical guidelines/grounds in designing today's schools and campuses, where the young people's needs for the Directed Attention- and Attention Restorative- Servicescapes seem to be greater than ever.
