1. 아남산업과 유공의 현황 비교 : 두 회사 공히 통계적 기법 적용을 전담하고 있는 부서 (아남산업은 SPC팀, 유공은 QC지원팀)가 있고, 통계를 이미 상당 수준 쓰고 있다는 것이 매우 인상적이다. 두 회사는 각각 반도체 분야와 석유 화학 분야에서 통계 기법 적용의 선두 주자라고 볼 수 있으며, 향후 계속적으로 통계 기법 적용의 리더가 되어주기를 희망한다.

영국정부는 최근 국영기업의 민영화정책의 일환으로 원자력발전산업의 민영화방침을 최종 결정, 발표하였다. 그 주요 내용은, 영국의 2대 국영 원자력발전회사인 NE사와 SNL사가 보유중인 8기의 원전을 1개의 통합회사로 설립하여 이를 민영화하고, Magnox 발전소 9기도 별도의 단일회사로 설립한 후 BNFL사에 합병시킨 뒤 장기적으로는 BNFL사의 민영화도 적극 검토한다는 것이다. 이와 함께 화석연료사용부담금의 폐지, 새로운 상용원전에 대한 정부의 재정지원중단, 원자력안전규제의 엄정집행 등이 영국 원전사업 민영화정책의 골자이다. 영국의 원자력발전산업에 대한 민영화정책 결정의 배경과 주요내용, 추진현황 및 교훈과 시사점 등을 살펴본다.

GS칼텍스는 '에너지로 나누는 아름다운 대한민국'이라는 사회공헌 슬로건 아래 기업의 사회적 책임을 다하기 위해 활발한 사회공헌활동을 펼치고 있다. 특히 GS칼텍스는 기부금품 위주로 물질적 지원을 넘어 회사 임직원과 지역사회 고객이 함께 참여하여 사회공헌활동을 펼침으로써, 함께 발전하는 지역공동체를 만들고, 나눔문화를 확산시키고자 노력하고 있다. 이를 위해 GS칼텍스는 지난 2005년 사내에 사회공헌 전담부서를 만들었으며, 2006년 8월, 2006년부터 2015년까지 10년 간 매년 100억원씩 출연해 총 1천억원 규모의 공익사업을 전개하는 GS칼텍스재단을 설립하였다. GS칼텍스는 기존에 회사가 펼쳐왔던 공익활동들을 기반으로 회사가 매년 재단에 출연하는 재원을 더해, 의미 있는 공익사업을 펼쳐나가고 있다.

세계 양계시장의 리더로써 미래를 위한 혁신적인 계획을 가지고 성장중인 빅더치만은 현재 독일 본사에 900명을 포함하여 전세계 2,500명의 직원을 둔 회사로 아직도 성장중에 있다. 빅더치만은 회사의 이익 이전에 기술자, 서비스 직원, 구매자, 영업직원, 물류직원, 영업지원팀, 리셉션 데스크의 직원들까지 모두 회사의 한 부분이라고 생각하고 사람이 제일이라고 여기고 있다. 이중에는 고객과 농장주도 포함되어 단순히 제품판매에 그치는 것이 아닌 사람과 사람의 정을 나누는 빅더치만이 되려고 노력하고 있다. 이번호에서는 빅더치만 한국지사를 찾아가 보았다.

본 논문은 전통적인 설치 기반 소프트웨어와 달리 웹을 통해 접근 가능한 서비스 형태의 소프트웨어에 사용자 고유의 코드를 동적으로 생성하여 반영하기 위한 방법을 다룬다. 이는 서비스 사용 회사들에게 회사별 비즈니스 로직을 생성하기 위한 플랫폼을 제공하고, 회사 별 고유한 비즈니스 로직을 개발할 수 있어 웹 기반의 소프트웨어를 존쉽게 확장할 수 있는 장점을 갖는다.

This study investigated that what strategies tobacco companies have taken for marketing tobacco and tobacco companies on news media, by reviewing the previous research analyzing the tobacco companies' documents and the news coverage of tobacco. The tobacco document studies showed that tobacco companies have created close relationships with news media, a quid pro quo, by providing advertising and diverse forms of sponsorships and obtaining favored treatment on news coverage and have built networks with journalists by supporting journalist organizations. They have also supported thinktank groups and pro-smoking groups so as to represent and advocate their perspectives and assertions on news media and have utilized sponsorship of art and culture as pseuo-event for publicizing tobacco and tobacco companies on news media. Futhermore, news coverage of tobacco showed that news media tended to deal with tobacco issues lukewarmly, without a clear position and perspective and deliver naturally tobacco industry's perspective and message that smoking is controvertial rather than totally undesirable and unacceptable. Also, the news coverages have often reflected tobacco industry's publicity strategies identified in tobacco industry documents. This study suggests how tobacco industry access and utilize news media to obtain favorable news coverage, and thus it provides a rational of why tobacco industry's publicity activities have to be regulated.

해운업은 국민경제의 기간산업으로 타산업에 대한 파급효과가 큰 고부가가치 산업이며, 동시에 제4군으로 국방기능을 수행하는 국가안보산업이다. 글로벌 금융위기 이후 해운업 침체가 지속됨에 따라 세계 주요국들은 자국의 해운선산에 대해 강력한 지원 및 보호정책을 시행하고 있다. 중국과 덴마크, 독일, 프랑스의 경우 자국 해운사에 대한 대출 및 융자보증 등의 지원을 확대하고 있으며, 선박투자회사 및 선박 대출기관 설립, 보조금 지원 등 다양한 방식을 통해 해운업을 지원하고 있다. 다음은 현대경제연구원이 발표한 "주요국 해운업 지원 정책과 시사점"의 주요 내용을 요약 정리한 것이다.

In the past, because Korean private venture capital firms could get government support and subsidies, they could be survived in the market without having required management capabilities, advanced venture investment techniques, and professional supporting agencies and institutions. However, business environments have changed a lot recently. Now, only through identifying the optimal financial structures(the ratio of debt to equity), Korean private venture capital firms can minimize investment risks and ensure higher profits. Since Modigliani and Miller(1958) criticized the existence of the optimal financial structure, there have been numerous studies on the optimal financial structure of firms. However, there is no empirical study investigating the financial structure of venture capital firms. The purpose of this article is to analyze the relationship between firm characteristics, financial security indies, and financial profit indices of korean private venture capital firms. We gathered the data from various sources, including the web pages and the financial statements for 2003 and 2004. By using the student's t-test and the correlation analysis, we showed that there are differences in the current ratio and the ratio of net profit to net sales between new and old korean private venture capital firms. Even though it is known that korean private venture capital firms does not have enough knowledge and investment technique to compete with global venture capital firms, our result show that old korean private venture capital firms have already built some knowledge and understanding of venture capital investing.
