  • Calcium oxide, lithium oxide and titanium oxide were investigated as additives of zinc oxide for the removal of hydrogen sulfide at high temperature. This experiment was performed in the range of 1.0-2.0 vol.% H$_2$S concentration at 623-873 K reaction temperature, using a thermogravimetric analyzer. A pore blocking model was found to fit the reaction rate and the kinetics data were sucessfully expressed by this model. The reactions between additive sorbents and hydrogen sulfide were first order with respect to hydrogen sulfide concentration in a gaseous mixture with nitrogen. Among the used sorbents, ZnO-CaO 0.5 at.% and ZnO-TiO$_2$ 2.0 at.% sorbents had the best additive effects on the sulfidation reaction between additive sorbents and hydrogen sulfide, whereas the ZnO-Li$_2$O sorbents were ineffective.

  • 본 연구에서는 황화납(PbS)을 감응 물질로 하는 양자점 감응형 태양전지를 제작하고 효율을 측정해보았다. 기판에 진공증착을 통해 seed layer를 형성하고 수열합성법으로 산화아연(ZnO) 나노선 어레이를 기른 후 SILAR(Successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction)법으로 PbS 양자점을 합성하였고, 농도와 cycle에 따른 특성의 변화를 주사전자현미경(SEM), X-선 회절, UV-visible spectrometer를 통해 확인하였다. SILAR법을 통해 PbS가 ZnO 나노선 위에 film 형태로 균일하게 성장한 것을 확인할 수 있었고, 이렇게 합성한 물질을 직접 태양전지로 제작하여 그 효율을 측정하였다. 또한 co-sensitizer 물질로 CdS를 합성하여 두 물질의 감응 물질로서의 성능을 확인하였다. PbS는 비교적 작은 밴드갭을 가지며 양자 제한 효과가 커 밴드갭 조절이 용이하며 여러 종류의 태양전지에서 이용되고 있다. 이러한 PbS를 감응 물질로 하는 양자점 감응형 태양전지 제작을 통해 태양전지에의 적용 가능성을 살펴보고 그러기 위해 필요한 부분들을 모색해보았다.

  • 본 연구에서는 황화납(PbS)과 황화카드뮴(CdS)을 감응물질로 하는 양자점 감응형 태양전지를 만들고 효율을 측정하였다. Sputter를 이용하여 고진공의 상태에서 산화아연(ZnO) film을 seed layer로 증착한 후 수열합성법으로 ZnO 나노선을 합성한다. 합성된 나노선을 successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) 법으로 PbS, CdS 양자점을 합성하고 이를 주사전자 현미경(SEM), X-선 회절(XRD)을 통해 확인하였다. 또한 PbS와 CdS의 co-sensitizer를 합성하고 diffused reflectance spectra (DRS)를 측정함으로써 넓은 범위의 광흡수도를 확인할 수 있었다. Co-sensitizer의 합성 방법을 달리하여 PbS/CdS를 합성한 후 각각의 효율을 측정해보고, 더 높은 효율을 내기 위한 방안에 대해 고찰하였다.

  • A study was conducted to determine the influence of soil chemical properties on the distribution and forms of cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), copper(Cu) and Zinc(Zn) in paddy soils near zinc mines. A sequential extraction procedure was used to fractionate the heavy metals in soils into the designated from of water soluble, exchangeable, organically bound, oxide/carbonate, and sulfide/residual. The predominant form of Cd, Pb, Cu and Zn in the soils was found to be sulfide/residual form. Oxide/carbonate Cd and Pb and organically bound Cu were high, while exchangeable Pb and Cu were very low. Water soluble Cd, Pb and Cu were not detected in the soils. The percentages of the heavy metals content in exchangeable fractions were inversely correlated with those in sulfide/residual fractions in the soils. Exchangeable Cd and Zn and the oxide/carbonate Pb were shifting to the sulfide/residual form with soil depth and the chemical forms of Cu were not changed. Organically bound Cu was positively correlated with soil organic matter content but Cd, Pb and Zn were not. The percentages of Cd, Pb and Zn content in exchangeable forms decreased with soil pH, while those in oxide/carbonate and sulfide/residual forms increased with soil pH. The amounts of oxide/carbonate and sulfide/residual forms of pb were higher than those of Cd and Zn at same soil pH.

  • Numerous base-metal bearing hydrothermal quartz vein deposits occur in the Hunan province of southern China. The Tangguanpu lead-zinc-tin-silver mine is the major producer among these deposits. Lead-zinc-tin-silver mineralization occurs in a single stage of massive quartz veins which filled fractures in fault zones within Paleozoic metasedimentary rocks. Sphalerite, chalcopyrite, galena, pyrite, arsenopyrite and pyrrhotite are the principal sulphide minerals in the Tangguanpu lead-zinc ores with minor amounts of tin- and antimony-bearing sulphides (stannite, teallite, boulangerite and tetrahedrite). Based on the iron and zinc partitioning between coexisting stannite and sphalerite, the formation temperature for this mineral assemblage range from 300$^{\circ}$ to 330$^{\circ}$C, which relatively agree with the upper part of homogenization temperature of fluid inclusion in quartz (20T-358$^{\circ}$C). Fluid inclusion data show that main lead-zine-tin-silver mineralization occurred from $H_{2}O$-NaCl fluids with relatively low salinities (11.2-7.3 wl.% eg. NaCI) at temperatures between 207$^{\circ}$ and 358$^{\circ}$C. The relationship between homogenization temperature and salinity suggests a history of cooling and dilution followed by initial boiling. Evidence of initial fluid boiling may indicate the fluid trapping pressures of 180 bars. The ${\delta}^{34}S{{\Sigma}S}$ values of -5.0 to 1.1 %, indicate an igneous source of sulfur in the Tangguanpu lead-zinc-tin-silver hydrothermal fluids.

  • The geology of the Iskaycruz project are mainly composed of sedimentary rocks within Cretaceous basin. The basal part is composed up of dark-gray shale, gray sandstone, and clastic rock of Oyon formation interbedded with coal measures. In the folded zone in the eastern part of the survey area, there is Chimu formation that has medium-grained massive and white quarztite. In terms of geological structure, the Iskaykruz region is located in the folded and overthrust zones of the central part of the Occidental Mountains. Ore body was formed by hydrothermal replacement process and consists of zinc, lead, silver, and copper. Stratabound-type deposits are hosted in limestone of Santa formation. It extends 12 kilometers discontinuously from northern Canaypata to southern Antapampa. Irregular iron oxide and sulfide minerals hosted in Santa and Parihuanca formations are observed. The mineralization observed on the surface consist of primary sulfides consisting of sphalerite with galena and chalcopyrite, and iron and manganese oxide produced from oxidation of primary sulfides. Skarn minerals are accompanied by tremolite, garnet, epidote and quartz.

Growth and Characterization of ZnS Thin Films by Hot Wall Method (Hot Wall법에 의한 ZnS 박막의 제작과 특성)

  • ZnS thin films were prepared on glass substrate at various deposition conditions by a HW apparatus and were systematically investigated the growth characteristics, in terms of deposition edges by a double beam spectro- photometer, and structural analysis by a x-ray diffraction rates were increased with incresing the cell temperature and vapor pressure of sulfur, but were decreased with increasing substrate temperature. The optical characteristics of thin films depends on the deposition rates. The band gap energies of 3.46∼3.52eV measured at room temperature are smaller than the theoretical value of 3.54eV, indicating that impurities exist in the crystal. All ZnS thin films are oriented in the (III) principal direction of a zincblende structure. By introducing the S vapor, optical and crystalline properties have been improved.
