Being an element of plastic arts and a language of plastic forms, the color white has significant potential for improving the quality of physical environment. Colors are dealt with scientifically in chromatics, and also often become an interesting topic when analyzing a society and its history and culture. Thus, an in-depth study of the symbolism of color white and, of white pigment are required because the color has not only an important chromatic value and this should be understood a great deal, but also been the important symbol of a culture in a particular period. This paper examined the significance of the color white identified in Asian and Western cultures based on scientific and psychological understanding of the color. This also analyzed a few major white pigments, then demonstrated different methods of using the pigments and various techniques of expression used by Asian and Western painters. In addition, the paper attempted to raise awareness of the color white as chromatic color over non-color by examining the contrasting viewpoints on the color, and the changes in the viewpoints over time and place.

Color harmony of Moon and Spencer is based on the Munsell color harmony theory. This harmony theory is established in the three of harmony and disharmony, the harmony of the area of effect, and Aesthetic Measure of harmony and disharmony. Aesthetic Measure here is how to obtain the quantitative expression of the degree of harmony. American scholar Burkhoff were analyzed with the proposition that beauty of Moon-Spencer is with the order in complexity. In this paper, the good and bad of coloration was divide elements of the order and the complexity. Aesthetic Measure is divided into elements of the complexity from elements of the order. This is utilized in the calculation shown in the various image, problem of color harmony and disharmony, which is treated as a sensibility was calculated by numerically. Thus Aesthetic Measure show was good or bad coloration by determining the color in the various image.

Colours are primarily composed of three properties - hue, brightness, and saturation, However, each property of colour is not independently visually recognised. Previous studies on saturation and brightness found that brightness was sensed differently depending on the degree of purity of the saturation; however, most of the psychophysical experiments used subtractive mixing. Therefore, fundamental research on colour perception based on display is needed. In this study, we conducted a psychophysical experiment and to investigate the visual characteristics of saturation and brightness based on a display with a self-luminous system. After selecting a certain brightness in the additive-mixed display, the experiment was conducted by adjusting the saturation of the main colours. Thus, by analysing the experimental results, we determined whether the results were the same as ones from subtractive mixing and whether the data are meaningful for the characteristics of colour perception. We also suggested future research directions.

In this study, convergence art education which Based on the overall understanding of color, which is a field of science, the lecture model was constructed in order to operate a fusion curriculum which can be practically expressed by applying it to the artistic field of floral design. The learner was satisfied with the composition of the two lectures (floral design, color) and the way of conducting theory and practice. In addition, they felt that was able to access various areas through one subject. This indicates that learners themselves perceive the purpose and necessity of this study. On the other hand, it is pointed out that the background knowledge level between the majors and the non - majors is different. therefore Continuous feedback and adjustment of the degree of difficulty of the training seems to be necessary to enhance the learner's understanding. In order to develop the floral design, the curriculum development and education model should be built through convergence of various sciences. It is expected that this study will be used as basic data for the development of the curriculum for the artistic design education.

색채는 우리 삶의 건강과 미적 조화를 결정하는 요소이며 색의 '문화시대'로 이해되는 21세기에는 개인의 영역에서뿐만 아니라 국가적인 차원에 이르기까지 다양하게 활용될 전략적인 과제로 인식되고 있다. 그럼에도 21세기의 소프트웨어인 색에 대한 연구는 아직도 국내에서는 색명이 정확히 정립되지 못하고 있으며, 색을 적용하는 산업 현장에서조차 보편화된 도구와 색체계가 일관되지 못한 것이 우리의 현실이다.

LED technology offers versatile lighting control while having a very low environmental impact. Consequently, increasing attention is being paid to the emotional impact of LED lighting. This study investigated whether the chromacity of LED lighting influences people's time perception. To this end, two empirical studies were conducted: First, in experiment I(N=28), the subjects compared their perception of the time duration, which was varied from 3s to 20s, for 6 chromatically nuanced lighting conditions, respectively, with that under a daylight condition. The results showed that, in warm-color nuanced lighting conditions, the subjects perceived time to pass more slowly than in the daylight condition. On the contrary, in cool-color nuanced lighting conditions, the subjects perceived time to pass more rapidly than in the daylight condition. Then, in experiment II(N=39), the subjects were asked to count for 90 seconds while simultaneously performing some cognitive tasks. Confirming the results found in experiment I, the subjects perceived time to pass more rapidly in cool-color nuanced lighting conditions than in warm-color nuanced lighting conditions, although the difference was not statistically significant(p>0.05). In addition, the subjects tended to perceive the time to be shorter when the nuanced color of the light was closer to their preferred color.

맛을 인지하는데 있어 색채가 끼치는 영향에 대한 선행 연구들에 의하면 사람은 특정 색이 상기시켜주는 맛을 기억하고 있고, 맛과 그 강도를 예측하고 판단하는데 있어 색에 크게 의지하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 사람들이 음식물 색에 대한 경험의 종류와 정도에 따라 색채로부터 연상되는 맛에 대한 특성을 파악하기 위해 2회에 걸친 실험을 진행하였다. 실험 1에서는 색상환에 고르게 분포한 여섯 가지 대표 색을 가진 초콜렛 샘플을 준비하고 피험자들에게 단맛과 쓴맛의 정도에 대해 각각 평가하도록 하였다(N=20). 실험 2에서는 실험 1의 색을 활용하되, 이를 알약에 적용한 후 동일한 평가를 진행하였다(N=20). 실험 결과, 맛에 대한 경험이 풍부한 난색 계열에서는 단맛, 쓴맛에 대한 일관된 경향을 나타냈지만, 그렇지 않은 파랑색에 대해서는 분산된 반응을 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 경험의 정도에 따라 색으로부터 연상되는 공감각적 특성에 대한 통찰력을 제공하며 효과적인 식품 패키지 디자인에 참고로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

동일한 감성자극을 받더라도 개인의 대뇌변연계에 저장된 정보에 의하여 그 느끼는 감성이 달라진다. 대뇌변연계에 저장되는 정보에 영향을 주는 요소로서 전전두엽의 비대칭성, 성별, 연령, 문화, 교육, 환경(지역 및 사회적) 등이 있다. 예를 들면 동일한 음질을 갖는 소리에 대하여 청취하는 사람에 따라 서로 다른 음향감성을 느끼게 되며 동일한 색채에 대하여는 풍토색이 서로 다른 환경에서 성장할 경우 그 느끼는 색채감성이 달라지게 된다. 이와 같이 감성에 영향을 주는 여러 요인들과 그 결과와의 상관성을 도출하여 궁극적으로 감성적 생리/병리에 활용하기 위해 산업자원부 지정 심뇌혈관데이터센터에서는 향후 감성에 영향을 줄 수 있는 다양한 생리신호와 그 결과로서의 감성을 체계적으로 데이터베이스화 해나갈 계획이다.

A purpose of this study is to suggest color palette of outdoor environment of international students' dormitory in Yonsei university in order to improve the residents' satisfaction with the physical and mental factors. With the advent of the age of International and Global, more and more international students are coming to Korea studying Korean, so each university makes an effort to enhance the level of the university and establishing the internal boarding for the comfort of foreigners. This study draws problems of the color which lack to show internal boarding's identity and communicate with environment around the dorm both. The results of the study show, firstly, dominant color which is used on this project is based on Korean traditional color used in the International students' dormitory are harmonized with environment color and, next, accent color can reveal the identity of the dorm in Yonsei university.
