Brian Ascalon Roley's American Son, one of the outstanding Filipino American novels after the LA riots, critically deals with a racial issue of his community which has been intermingled with the myth of model minority. Gabe and Thomas, considered as obedient Filipino younger immigrants, are asked to achieve the American dream as a way to place themselves at the center of the mainstream white society. However, they recognize that they cannot be accepted as a suitable subject for the invincible racism deeply rooted in the society. While Tomas refuses to become a model minority by identifying himself with the Mexican, Gabe is expected to become an idealistic subject of model minority by his mother since he complies with the rules of the mainstream society. However, he accepts his brother's violent way of life in that violence is necessary to protect his family from the racial discrimination in America. Though he is his mother's hope for model minority, he recognizes the only condition to achieve her expectation is the American society where there is no racism at all. However, by taking the case of Gabe and Thomas, Roley suggests that the younger generation of Filipino American immigrants have no choice but to accept violence to survive in the American society because racism always threatens their life.

본 논문에서는 판 형상의 구조물에 발생한 균열의 형상과 개수 등을 진단할 수 있는 Inter-Digital Transducer (IDT)형 Lamb 파 센서를 제안하고 그 타당성을 실험적으로 검증하였다. IDT형 Lamb 파 센서는 기존의 패치형 압전 센서보다 작동 주파수의 조절이 용이하고, finger의 형상에 의해 지향성을 조절할 수 있다는 등의 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 무지향성을 가지는 환상형 IDT형 센서와 높은 지향성을 가지는 사각형 IDT형 센서를 설계, 제작하고, 이들에 의해 알루미늄 판을 전파하는 Lamb 파의 전파시간과 진폭의 변화를 측정, 분석하여 판 내에 발생한 균열의 길이, 개수 및 각도를 평가하고, 제안한 IDT 센서의 효용성을 고찰하였다.

본 논문의 목적은 스풀 랜드(spool land)와 슬리브(sleeve) 사이의 정특성 방정식으로부터 스풀 밸브의 압력 특성과 유동특성을 구하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 스풀 랜드와 슬리브 사이의 유동을 환상간극 유동과 오리피스 유동, 그 중간의 천이 영역으로 나누고, 천이 영역의 유량계수를 길이에 따른 두 영역으로 나눈 선형 일차방정식으로 가정하였다. 스풀 밸브의 압력특성방정식을 구하기 위해 스풀의 중립지점에서부터의 변위에 따른 유동을 $q_a=q_b=0$의 조건으로부터 구하였으며, 스풀 밸브의 유량특성방정식을 구하기 위하여 스풀의 중립지점에서부터의 변위에 따른 유동을 $q_a=q_b$, $p_a=p_b$의 조건으로부터 구하였다. 구해진 수식의 타당성은 수치해석을 통해 실험식 및 기존논문과의 비교를 통해 확인하였다.

액션게임은 매저키즘(Masochism)의 특수한 배치(constellation)인 부인, 서스펜스, 기다림, 물신숭배, 환상 이 모두를 내재하고 있다. 이러한 액션게임의 특성은 매저키즘과 연관 지어 분석이 가능하게 한다. 연구에서는 매저키즘에 상반의 의미로 보는 병인학적 오인의 결과인 사디즘은 가급적 배제하여 분석하였다. 그러나 액션게임을 사디즘(Sadism)으로 오인되지 않도록 약간의 비교 분석은 첨부하였다. 게임은 게이머-존재와 게임-캐릭터의 계약의 틀에서 연결시킴으로 창조되는 주체의 장으로써 가상적 교감이 이루어지는 공간을 생성 시켜준다. 그리고 이러한 공간 속에서 시각적 촉각이 교감됨은 쾌락의 차이의 체계를 만들어 준다. 매저키즘은 게임과 같이 계약적 관계로 물신숭배를 통해 결국은 자신이 생성해 놓은 세상 속에서 쾌락을 성취한다. 이처럼 액션게임과 매저키즘은 기본적 상호 근친성이 있음이 나타내고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본고는 실재 액션게임의 예를 들어 액션게임의 존재론을 분석을 시작하였고 액션게임이 매저키즘적 쾌락의 성취가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

본 논문은 디즈니 만화영화 "겨울왕국"에서 특이한 마술적 힘을 가지고 있는 엘사를 주인공으로 놓고, 그녀가 왜 두려움과 분노의 감정을 가지게 되었고 이런 감정을 어떻게 마술로 표출하는 지를 분석하는 것을 일차적 목표로 정한다. 마술을 걸기만 하고 풀지 못하는 자유롭지 못한 엘사가 자신의 왕국을 떠나가는 것이 그녀의 두려움과 분노에 찬 얼어붙은 왜곡된 감성을 스스로 얼음성에 갇히게 만드는 상징적 행위로 해석한다. 둘째로는 디즈니의 여성성에 대한 새로운 양상을 보여주는 본 "겨울왕국"은 환상적 애니메이션이 실제 사회의 여성적 억압에 대한 분노와 그 두려운 해방감에 관한 문제해결과 얼마나 유사한 패턴을 가지고 있는 지를 시청자가 엘사와의 감정이입을 통한 감정 상호작용을 통해 분석하고자 한다. 마지막으로 본 논문은 스토리텔링 기법을 통해서 엘사를 중심으로 시청자의 두려움이나 분노가 어떤, 그리고 얼마나 증폭적인 감정 상호작용을 함으로써, 인간 보편적인 분노와 두려움의 감성인 엘사의 감성이 어디서 근원되었고, 왜 마술로 독특하게 상징적 재현이 되며, 그 감성을 어떻게 해결하는 지의 과정을 독자와의 스토리텔링 상호작용을 통해서 분석한다.

Maximalism in modern fashion, which is contrary to the current fashion market that emphasizes functionality and practicality, is an important notion that has been expressed in a variety of ways through designer's unique sense with a mixture of experimental design. With such creative work that suits a trend in novel fashion design, Rei Kawakubo is a current representative of Comme des Garcons who has not only introduced deconstructivism and Japanese-style avant-garde to the fashion industry for the first time. Our research, thus, analyzed the characteristic of maximalism's expression based on the features represented in her collection. Firstly, Expandability is classified as a method of distorting parts of a body and a method of excessively overinflating the silhouette of clothing. Secondly, decorations are expressed in the other as blending different types of materials together. Thirdly, fantasy evokes a fresh and stimulating surreal sensation that may only be felt in an imagination by assigning supernatural and amusing expression to the garment. The forth, fusion refers to a creation of novelty from combining various types of elements and images. The fifth, experiment is unique trait that develops mysterious images, consisted of various details. The sixth, non-structure is different from an initial form of garment that maintains a bilateral symmetry. The importance of our research lies in proposing a fundamental data for development of creative design as well as in expanding a range of possible expression for maximalism, by analyzing the characteristics of maximalism seen in Rei Kawakubo's collection.

본 연구에서는 고속도로 교량 바닥판 747개소의 GPR 데이터를 분석하여 주요 열화인자를 도출하고, 이들을 활용하여 교량의 공용연수에 따른 교량의 손상률을 추정하였다. 바닥판의 손상률 데이터를 공용연수에 따른 영향을 최소화하기 위해 공용연수에 따른 손상률 데이터를 선형회귀분석 모형을 사용하여 보정하였다. 보정된 바닥판 손상률과 강설일수, 강설량, 동결융해일수, 동절기평균기온, 고도, 제설제살포량, 환상교통량의 상관관계를 분석하였으며, 동결융해일수와 제설제살포량이 바닥판의 손상률에 지배적인 영향이 있음을 도출하였다. 동결융해일수와 제설제살포량을 동시에 고려하여 복합열화 상황 하에서 바닥판의 손상률 차트를 도출하고, 이를 기반으로 평균적인 예상 바닥판 수명을 도출하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 고속도로 교량의 유지관리 시에 현 교량상황별로 바닥판의 열화진전 상태와 전단면 개량이 필요한 시점을 예상할 수 있는 참고자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

One of the principal components of the KSTAR (Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research) tokamak structure is the vacuum vessel, which acts as the high vacuum boundary for the plasma and also provides the structural support for internal components. Hyundai Heavy Industries Inc. has performed the engineering design of the vacuum vessel. Here the overall configuration of the KSTAR vacuum vessel was briefly described and then the design methodology and the analysis results were presented. The vacuum vessel consists of double walls, several ports, leaf spring style supports. Double walls are separated by reinforcing ribs and filled with baking/shielding water. The overall external dimensions of the main body are 3.39 m high, 1.11 m inner radius, 2.99 m outer radius, and made of SA240-316LN. The vacuum vessel was designed to be capable of achieving the base pressure of $1\times10^{-8}$ Torr, and also to be structurally capable of sustaining the vacuum pressure, the electromagnetic and thermal loads during plasma disruption and bakeout, respectively. The vacuum vessel will be baked out maximum $150^{\circ}C$ by hot pressurized water through the channels formed between double walls and the reinforcing ribs. A 3-D temperature distribution and the resulting thermal loads in the vessel were calculated during bakeout. It was found that the vacuum vessel and its supports were structurally rigid based on the thermal stress analysis. The maximum electromagnetic loads on the vacuum vessel induced by eddy and halo currents resulting from the engineering plasma radial and vertical disruption scenarios have been estimated. The stress analyses have been performed based on these electromagnetic loads and the resulting stresses at he critical locations of the vacuum vessel were within the allowable stresses.

다양한 미디어 환경으로 인한 이미지의 재매개화 과정은 디미털 미디어문화 세대에게 또 한번의 거울단계를 거치게 하고 있다고 보고, 라캉의 거울단계이론과의 연관성을 고찰하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 전통적인 매체가 인터넷으로의 재매개, 컴퓨터그래픽으로 인한 초실재적 환상의 재현으로 조성되는 가상세계와 실재세계와의 혼돈, 가상적 이민지가 선망의 대상으로 부각되며 실제적 이미지를 변화시키는 동일시 현상 등은 다양해지는 영상미디어의 상호 연계로 인한 재매개 기능으로 유발되는 것이다. 주체와 이상화된 자아만의 관계인 2자적 관계에서 발생하는 타인이 배제된 '나르시스적' 동일성은 새로운 자기표현을 찾는데 능숙한 마니아 문화를 형성한다. 능동적인 마니아문화의 '자기반영 성'(Reflexivity)은 현대 미디어 문화의 특징이 될 수 있는 것이다. 그러나 디지털 미디어문화 세대가 자기 반영에 사로잡혀 타인이 배제된 나르시스즘에서 벗어나지 못한 채 이미지 은하계에서 소모적인 재미에 빠져 길을 잃는다면, 이러한 세대는 새로운 인간형으로 성장하지 못할 수도 있다. 이에 따라 거울단계와 연관된 '영상 리터러씨'(Visual Literacy)교육에 대한 체계적 연구를 필요케 한다.

한국 토양균 중에서 esterase 저해제를 생산하는 균주인 Streptomyces strain DMC-498을 oatmeal yeast extract 배지에서 3일간 액내 배양하였을 때 최고의 저해작용을 나타내었으며 균사체의 메탄올 추출물로부터 저해제를 분리하였다. linoleic acid가 저해작용이 있음을 확인하였으며 50% 저해작용을 나타내는 linoleic acid의 양은 $0.045\;\mu\textrm{g}/ml$이었다. 활성이 보다 큰 compound A는 분자량이 500 이상이며 산소를 2개이상 함유하고 있는 환상구조의 지방족 화합물로 생각된다. 이것을 상경적 저해작용을 나타내었다. DMC-498 균주가 함유하는 지질의 주성분은 isostearic acid, isostearic acid methyl ester, linoleic acid methyl ester 및 oleic acid methyl ester이었다.
