  • The relationships among students' perceptions of computerized science learning environments, computer-related attitudes. and computer experiences were investigated with a sample of 164 9thgraders (80 boys and 84 girls) from two middle schools. The Computerized Science Learning Environment Inventory (CSLEI) and the Computer-Related Attitudes Scale (CRAS) were administered, and students' computer experiences were examined. Students' perceptions of preferred learning environments were also studied with the preferred form of the CSLEI, and compared with those of actual learning environments. Gender differences in the perceptions of computerized science learning environments, computer-related attitudes, and computer experiences were also studied. Students' perceptions of preferred learning environments were significantly better than those of actual learning environments in all subscales of the CSLEI except gender equity. There was no gender difference in the perceptions of computerized science learning environments. However, boys were found to have more positive computer-related attitudes and more computer experiences than girls. Students' perceptions of computerized science learning environments were significantly correlated with computer-related attitudes in resource adequacy subscale, but not with computer experiences. Significant relationships between computer-related attitudes and computer experiences were also found.

  • The recent research has been focused on fusion of audio and visual features for reliable speech recognition in noisy environments. In this paper, we propose a neural network based model of robust speech recognition by integrating audio, visual, and contextual information. Bimodal Neural Network(BMNN) is a multi-layer perception of 4 layers, each of which performs a certain level of abstraction of input features. In BMNN the third layer combines audio md visual features of speech to compensate loss of audio information caused by noise. In order to improve the accuracy of speech recognition in noisy environments, we also propose a post-processing based on contextual information which are sequential patterns of words spoken by a user. Our experimental results show that our model outperforms any single mode models. Particularly, when we use the contextual information, we can obtain over 90% recognition accuracy even in noisy environments, which is a significant improvement compared with the state of art in speech recognition. Our research demonstrates that diverse sources of information need to be integrated to improve the accuracy of speech recognition particularly in noisy environments.

  • To achive a robust Korean word recognition system for both channel distortion and additive noise, maximum a posteriori estimation(MAP) adaptation is proposed and the effectiveness of environmental adaptation for improving recognition performance is investigated in this paper. To do this, recognition experiments using MAP adaptation are carried out for the three different speech ; 1) channel distortion is introduced, 2) environmental noise is added, 3) both channel distortion and additive noise are presented. Theeffectiveness of additive feature parameters, such as regressive coefficients and durations, for environmental adaptation are also investigated. From the speaker independent 100 words recognition tests, we had 9.0% of recognition improvement for the case 1), more than 75% for the case 2), and 11%~61.4% for the case 3) respectively, resulting that a MAP environmental adaptation is effective for both channel distorted and noise added speech recognition. But it turned out that duration information used as additive feature parameter did not played an important role in the tests.

  • This study was conducted with the purpose of verifying the effect of the working environment of elderly care workers on service quality and the mediating effect of emotional labor and recognition of filial piety. The subjects of the study were 460 elderly care workers. For the collected data, SPSS Process macro was used. As a result, First, it was found that all variables had a significant positive (+) relationship. Second, the parallel mediating effect of emotional labor and recognition of filial piety was confirmed. Third, the mediating effect of recognition of filial piety and the moderating effect of emotional labor were verified. Based on this study, it was found that filial piety awareness education and emotional labor management are necessary. A follow-up study with a more expanded concept should be conducted.

  • The purpose of this study was conducted to determine the influence of perceptions of the campus environment and health perception on stress of nursing students. Data were collected from three nursing colleges from December 01 to December 30, 2016, and data were collected by 223 students using the SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. Result of this study, the general characteristics of differences in stress were age, experience of clinical practice, gender, type of housing, personality and eating habits type, and experience in using the school health center. Stress showed negative correlation between perceptions of the campus environment and health perception. Factors influencing stress were eating habits, gender, perceptions of the campus environment and health perception, and their explanatory power on stress was 23.1%. Therefore, to reduce the stress of nursing college students, various programs should be developed and operated to improve the perceptions of the campus environment and increase the perception of health.

  • Context-Awareness is a important technology to support optimized services automatically by recognizing various context informations in ubiquitous environments. Previous middlewares which supports ubiquitous environments used a centralized storage and DBMS to store and manage context informations and service contents. Centralized management of context informations and service contents sometimes hinders the autonomy of moving node and interoperability between difference middlewares. In this paper, we design the systems which stores context informations in moving node by distributed form and shares service contents between middlewares in distributed ubiquitous environments. And it provides Context-Aware scripts to supports the definition of context informations reasoning and execution of services. It verifies the usefulness of the designed systems by applying the scenario of music playing service based on context awareness
