Effect of Awareness on the Change of Polluting Emission - Analysis of the Environmental Kuznets Curve Hypothesis- (인식수준이 환경오염물질 배출량 변화에 미치는 영향 -환경쿠즈네츠 곡선 가설 연구-)

  • The purpose of this study is to explain the causes of the phenomenon that the Environmental Kuznets Curve hypothesis suggests that the increasing the emissions level of environmental pollutants starting to decrease as a certain income level is reached, associating microeconomic variables such as awareness level. Effects of the level of awareness differs depending on the characteristics of the impacts of pollutants- either regional or global. Furthermore, the study identifies that the impacts on the change in emissions inventory differ. The study empirically examines and concludes that the turning point where the emission level of environmental pollutants starts to decrease is over- or under-estimated if the differing responses between the level of awareness and its effect on pollutants are ignored. In addition, the level of emissions starts to decrease at a lower level of income in case of regional effect from pollutant than the global effect from it. Finally, the study implies that investing more efforts and resources to improve the level of people's awareness on environmental quality is effective if the government is to alter the increasing path of emission level.

The Relations of Teacher-Efficacy and Perception of Principals' Leadership and Peer Collaboration across Job Stress and Satisfaction (초등교사의 지각된 교사효능감, 학교장 지도성, 동료교사 태도 인식의 잠재프로파일에 따른 직무스트레스와 교직만족도 차이)

  • This study intended to identify different level of teacher-efficacy, perception of principals' leadership and peer collaboration as it pertains to a teachers' job stress and job satisfaction in Elementary school. Samples include 1,031 teachers in elementary school from Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS) and data were analyzed using Latent Class Analysis(LCA) to identify different patterns of teacher-efficacy and perception of principals' leadership and peer collaboration. Multivariate analysis of variance were employed to identify the influence of predictors for classification of teachers' job stress and job satisfaction among latent classes. The study found three latent classes at risk class, middle-level adaptive class, and adaptive class and results showed that each distinctive class can be identified by some of predictors. Teachers at adaptive class showed higher teacher-efficacy and positive perception of principals' leadership and peer collaboration than teachers at risk and middle-level adaptive class. Also, teachers at adaptive class showed lower job stress and higher job satisfaction than teachers at two other classes. The study suggests that help teachers based on personal profile are effective rather teacher-efficacy and perception of principals' leadership and peer collaboration.

  • 본 논문은 감성측정평가 시뮬레이터 구축의 일환으로 개발한 3차원 시청각 환경 제시기가 생성하는 가상환경의 현실감 점도를 평가하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 가상환경의 최소 구성성분요소들로 Size, Length, Distance 등을 설정하였으며, 이들에 대하여 가상환경과 실제환경에서 각각 실험을 통해 피실험자들의 인식전도를 측정하였다. 실험에서 사용한 측정방법은 가상세계에 대한 인식실험을 위해 개발된 Size/Distance Estimation, Sketch Map, Object Search 방법 등을 사용하였으며, 가상환경과 실제환경에서 각각 도출된 실험결과의 차이를 토대로 3차원 시청각 환경 제시기의 현실감 수준을 평가하였다. 본 실험을 위해 구성한 피실험자의 집단은 컴퓨터 사용에 익숙한 20대 이공계열 84명(남:56, 여:28)의 학생들을 대상으로 하였다. 본 논문의 의의로는 3차원 시청각 환경 제시기가 생성하는 가상환경의 현실감 수준을 평가함으로써 개발 시스템의 보완 및 발전과 본격적인 감성공학 분야의 활용을 위한 지침을 마련하는데 있다.

The Effect of Knowledge and Perception of Environmental Problems on Pro-environmental Behavior of Youth (청소년의 환경문제에 대한 지식 및 인식이 환경친화적 행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of knowledge and perception of environmental problems on pro-environmental behavior of youth. The data used for this study were collected using questionnaire. The sample for this study consisted of 654 junior and high school students living in Seoul and Gyeong-gi Province. Descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the data. The following is a summary of the major findings. (1) The significant variables affecting pro-environmental behavior of youth were need of environmental education, source of environmental knowledge, level of perception on air pollution and scarcity of resources and energy, sex and total amount of allowance of students. These variables explained 20.5% of variance of pro-environmental behavior. (2) Environmental education related variables were the best predictor of pro-environmental behavior; knowledge of environmental problem variables had limited predictive power. (3) Recommendations for teaching-learning strategies have been suggested to enhance youth's pro-environmental behavior in school.

A Study of the Factors Influencing the Staff Members' Recognition of the Level of Ethical Management in the Elderly Welfare Institutions (노인복지기관 종사자의 윤리경영수준 인식에 대한 영향 요인 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of staffs' general characteristics and institutional characteristics on the staff members' recognition of the level of ethical management in the elderly welfare institutions and to provide basic materials for raising standard of ethical management in the elderly welfare institutions. For this purpose, we conducted a questionnaire survey using structured self-filling-type questionnaires for 245 staffs of elderly welfare institutions in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. This study sets general characteristics of staffs and institutional characteristics as the independent variables and the staff members' recognition of the level of ethical management as the dependent variable. The variables are investigated through the descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage and average analysis, and the difference of effect on the staff members' recognition of ethical management in the elderly welfare institutions by each independent variable was analysed by t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. The results of the study shows that in terms of general characteristics of staffs, the higher male to female ratio and the higher educational level; and in institutional characteristics, the less experience in basic ethics education and the better ethical working environment of the institution are the positive factors for that the staff members estimate the level of ethical management of their workplace high. Based on these results, for making staff members recognize the level of ethical management in the elderly welfare institutions higher, we should create actual atmosphere of the ethical working environment in the institution and implement not formal but step-by-step intensive ethics education that make employees can apply it in the real situations. In conclusion, this study gives the practical suggestions for improving the staff members' recognition of ethical management level in the practice field of elderly welfare on the fast-changing trends including downsizing and privatization.

Environmental Education and Affective Factor of Middle School Teacher (중학교 교사의 환경교육수행과 관련변인에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연두는 환경교육교사들이 배워야 할 교육내용에 관한 선행연구를 기초로 하여 우리나라 중학교 교사들의 환경교육수행과 관련된 변인들을 분석해 보고자한다. 조사대상자 는대구.경북지역 중학교교사 295명이며 이들의 환경문제에 관한 이해도, 환경교육에 관한 목표 및 개념 인식 수준은 비교적 높으나 환경교육수행은 가장낮게 나타났다. 담당교과목별 환경교육관련 변인을 보면 환경교육수행에 있어서만 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났으며 교과 목별로 보면 도덕.국민윤리와 가정.실업.기술 담당교사의 평균이 가장 높다. 환경교육수 행에 대한 제변인의 영향력은 교육수준만 통계적으로 유의한 결과를 보여주었다 또한 담당 교과목별 환경교육수행에 대한 환경교육수준의 영향력은 가정.실업.기술과목 교사들의 경 우 가장 의미가 있었다 환경교육수행 수준이 높은 집단의 특성은 환경교육관련변인 중에서 환경교육수준(p<.001) 사회.인구적 변인중에서는 성별(p<.01) 연령(p<.01) 교육경력(p<.05) 담당교과목 (p.05)에 있어서 유의한 의미가 있으며 남성 40대 이상 교육경력 16년이상의 집 단 도덕.국민윤리와 가정.실업.기술과목의 집단이 더 많이 소속되어있다. 이러한 연구결 과는 환경교육수행을 위한 교사양성 및 교사재교육을 위하여 의미가 크다고 하겠다.

  • As environment issues arise, environment-friendliness in convention industry has also been discussed. Guidelines are presented by government and convention organization to settle environment-friendly convention. However, these efforts focus on organizers and suppliers, lacking in understanding convention participants. This study tries to approach in perspective of convention participants to get useful information for environment-friendly convention. The research explores how they are aware of environment issues and accept environment-friendly convention attributes according to their cognition of environment. It also examines the relationship between those attributes and intention of participation according to their awareness of environment. The results shows that participants have high awareness about environmental issue and recognized high necessity for set up for specific action plan. They showed highest acceptance of venue followed by activity, transportation, food & beverage, and operation. High awareness group showed higher acceptance of environment-friendly convention attributes than low awareness group. 'Transportation', 'activity', and 'operation' among five attributes were examined to have significant effect on intention of participate environment-friendly convention in both groups.

환경규제(環境規制)와 국제경쟁력(國際競爭力)

  • 환경규제가 우리나라 각 산업부문의 국제경쟁력에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하기 위하여 단순회귀분석과 Heckscher-Ohlin-Vanek-Leamer(HOVL) 테스트를 1993년 부문별 자료에 적용하였다. 회귀분석 결과 일반적인 예상과는 달리 오염배출이 많은 산업일수록 더 큰 비교우위를 가지는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 우리나라가 다른 나라에 비하여 풍부한 환경자원을 가지고 있음을 의미한다. HOVL 테스트 역시 동일한 결과를 보여주고 있는데, 이 방법에 의하면 우리나라의 전체적인 환경자원 부존량이 다른 나라와 비슷한 수준인 반면, 수출의 많은 부분을 담당하고 있는 제조업부문은 다른 나라에 비하여 환경자원을 풍부하게 사용하고(가지고) 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 일반적인 인식에서 크게 벗어나고 있는데, 그 이유는 인구밀도나 단위 면적당 GDP 혹은 현재의 환경오염수준 등 몇 가지 간단한 지표를 통하여 볼 때 결코 우리나라가 우리의 주요 무역상대국에 비하여 풍부한 환경자원을 가지고 있다고 할 수 없기 때문이다. 따라서 본 논문의 실증분석결과를 고려할 때, 우리나라의 환경규제수준, 특히 수질규제수준은 환경자원 부존량이 제시하는 수준에 비하여 낮게 책정되어 있으며, 이로 인하여 기업이 느끼는 환경자원의 가용량(可用量)이 늘어나고, 이것이 결국 산업간 비교우위체계를 왜곡한 것으로 판단된다.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the level of recognition, information acquisition behavior, level of knowledge, level of behaviors to decrease exposure, and education need towards endocrine disruptors of middle and high school students. The data were collected from 180 middle and high school students in Seoul, Incheon, Daejeon, Daegu, Busan and Gwangju. Frequencies, Cronbach's alpha, t tests, analysis of variance, Duncan's multiple range tests, and chi-square tests were carried out by SPSS WINDOWS Version 14.0. The results of this study were as follows. The level of concerns about endocrine disruptors was somewhat low. Many respondents obtained information about endocrine disruptors from TV/radio and school, and wanted to get the information from school and TV/radio. Both the level of knowledge and the level of behaviors to decrease exposure were not particularly high. In addition, they showed high level of education need for endocrine disruptors.

A Study on Users' Attitude Toward the Forest Trails - Focused on the Jirisan Dulegil - (숲길 이용자 인식에 관한 연구 - 지리산 둘레길을 중심으로 -)

  • This study was conducted to provide information which will be useful for managing the forest trails effectively. To investigate users' attitudes toward the forest trail construction and use, a questionnaire survey was employed in the Jirisan Dulegil. As the results, most of the respondents perceived that the Jirisan Dulegil have positive impact economically and socio-culturally on community growth. Contrastively, a negative perception existed in the environmental aspect. The users' satisfaction level regarding the Jirisan Dulegil appear to be positive. Users' satisfaction level regarding use services provided in community boundary was evaluated relatively lower. In this point of view, trail use service system provided in the community should be reconsidered for effective forest trail management.
