Modem efforts on digitizing electronic books focus on preserving authentic image representation of the original sources. Unlike the text-based format, it is difficult to recognize the information in the image, so the new format requires new tools to help users to access, process, and make sense of digital information. This paper presents an approach which assists users of these image sources by giving them a combination of annotation and social navigation support. Especially in the education domain, the proposed technique improves the usability of online education system. This approach is currently fully implemented and under evaluation in a classroom study.

This article is based on the findings of problems and limits in implementing integrated coastal management strategy in Shihwa Lake area to develop management framework, mechanisms and processes that insure the participation of various stakeholders in making decisions for sustainable development of reclaimed land. The project performance of the Shihwa Comprehensive Management Plan for Water Quality and Environment Restoration formulated in 2001 was evaluated and reviewed to give some valuable guidance for reducing the wide gap between integrated planning and implementation. Managing inter-sectoral conflicts among future land uses in Shihwa reclaimed area is one of the most important issues to make progress in integrated coastal management. There is a urgent need of developing scientific decision-supporting tools for evaluating the alternative scenarios as well as capacity building programs for local stakeholders.

The purpose of this study is to seek the solutions for development of young adults programs in the public libraries in Korea. The reasons for the problems and limitations of the young adults programs are the absence of personnel in charge of young adult service, the shortage in book stock and space, the low participation due to the educational environment pursuing only entrance examination, the poor system in public relations and the cooperation with young adult related organization etc. As the result of seeking solutions for the development of young adults programs in the public libraries based on these problems, followings are required: the establishment of young adults service system, placement of personnel in charge, the development of integrated young adult programs, strengthening of education for librarians in charge, and the establishment of young adult service network.

Mentoring is defined as a sustained relationship between a mentor and a mentee. Through continued involvement, the mentor offers support, guidance, and assistance as the mentee faces new challenges, or works to correct earlier problems. A mentoring for cooperative learning has many merits including higher order thinking, collaborative competencies, socialization and development. In this paper, a U(Ubiquitous)-CoMM(Community of mentor & mentee) system was supposed to design an instructional learning strategy using cyber community of mentor & mentee in a ubiquitous environment. The proposed system provides participants with campus mentoring program in which they share their experience and expertise. By experimental result showed that the proposed system is effect in education about cooperative learning than existing system.

This study aims to enhance the usability of eBook reader programs on personal computers through heuristic evaluation in order to learn users' perceptions and derive key elements for interface design. For this purpose, the traditional usability evaluation and heuristic evaluation method were studied. A total of 22 evaluators of the heuristic evaluation were taken by purposive sampling to test the interface of eBook reader on PCs. This study suggested ten heuristics that focus on improving and specializing the usability aspects of reading digital materials.

다양한 데이터 마이닝 기법들의 발전과 더불어, 속성(Feature 또는 Attribute)의 범위(Dimension)를 줄이기 위해 많은 요소 선택 방법이 개발되었다. 이는 확장성(Scalability)을 향상시킬 수 있고 학습 모델(Learning Model)을 더욱 쉽게 해석할 수 있도록 한다. 이 논문에서는 네스티드 분할(Nested Partition, 이하 NP)을 이용한 새로운 최적화 기반 속성 선택 방법을 NP 기본 구조와 다양한 실험 문제의 수치적 결과들과 함께 제시하여 어떻게 NP의 최적화 구조가 속성 선택 과정에 기여를 하고 있는지 보여준다. 그리고 이 새로운 지능적인 분할 방법이 어떻게 매우 효율적인 분할을 수행하는지를 제시한다. 이 새로운 속성 선택 방법은 필터(Filter)방법과 래퍼(Wrapper)방법 두 가지로 구현될 수 있다. 사례 연구로서, B2B e-비즈니스 시스템에서 효과적으로 사용될 수 있는 추천 시스템(Recommender System)을 제안하였다. 이 추천 시스템은 분류 기법(Classification Rule)과 제시된 NP 기반 요소 선택 방법을 사용하고 있다. 이 추천 시스템은 사용자의 인터넷 경매 참여를 추천하는데 사용되며, 이 때 제안된 요소 선택 앨고리듬은 추천 규칙들이 쉽게 이해될 수 있도록 모델을 간략화 하는데 사용된다.

A web based courseware was designed and implemented for teaching number 0 to 5 to students of first grade in elementary school. The leveled learning program, according to the difference of learning abilities between learners, provides them with the contents and problems of leveled learning. This study shows the proper feedback to learners after considering their answers and provides them the effective learning situation where children learn without any restrictions of time and space. Therefore, the leveled and differentiated learning has been realized and this courseware enhanced students' interests in learning and desire for achievement. Also, it led them who can attend just for a short time to attend continuously and to participate eagerly in learning.

At MANET, Broadcasting message transmission makes throughput decrease because all of MANET nodes are participated at retransmitting broadcasting messages. Especially, burst RREQ transmission causes broadcasting message congestion and inter-RREQ transmission delay. In this paper, we propose a RREQ aggregation method applied to the sender node and intermediate node for solving the problem caused by burst RREQ generation. And we analysis performance of the proposed method by examining at the real testbed.

Many contractors have overlooked the construction contract general conditions and it was a bad construction practice. Today, construction project is very complex and complicated. This requires a networked contract document and results in a complicated contract conflict hardly to be solved. Therefore, to reduce the construction dispute and to enhance construction practice, clarification of definition of Owner, several conditions to be revised, insertion of design supervision were suggested in this paper.

유무선 인터넷 기술의 발전은 인터넷을 통한 개인 정보의 효율적인 공유 및 교환을 가능하게 하였다. 최근 이러한 분산 정보의 공유를 위한 네트워킹 기술로 P2P(Peer-to-Peer)가 많은 주목을 받고 있다. 현재 국내외의 많은 대학 및 기관에서 P2P에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행 중 이다. 하지만, 대부분의 P2P 시스템들은 파일공유 위주의 서비스를 제공하며 SETI@HOME을 필두로 한 일부 @HOME 프로젝트들만이 자원 공유 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 그러나 기존의 자원공유 P2P 서비스들은 특정한 목적을 위해 구성됨으로써 자원을 제공하는 일반 사용자는 단순히 자원을 제공할 뿐 그 이상의 역할을 수행할 수가 없다. 이에 본 논문에서는 P2P 시스템에 참여한 모든 사용자가 P2P의 자원 네트워크를 사용할 수 있도록 멀티 에이전트 기반의 자원 공유 P2P 시스템을 제안한다. 일반 사용자는 서비스 생성 프레임워크를 사용하여 자신에게 필요한 테스크 에이전트를 생성할 수 있으며, 스케줄러 및 분배 에이전트, 테스크 에이전트에 의해 수행되어진다. 또한 본 시스템은 group 및 peer의 관리를 위해 특성 학습 에이전트(Specific Learning Agent)의 학습기능을 사용함으로써 P2P가 가지는 불안전한 환경 및 신뢰성 문제를 해결하였다.
