Areal Rainfall Analysis using Grid Method (격자법을 이용한 면적강우 분석)

  • 미국 펜실베이니아 주의 4개 지역에 대해 면적우량을 분석하였다. 강수량이 제일 큰 지점에서 시작하여 이 지점 주위로 직사각형의 블럭을 확장하여 만들었다. 이 직사각형 블럭의 강수량을 구한 후 최대 지점 강수량에 대한 비를 구하였다. 이 강수량 비(Relative storm magnitudes)를 플롯트하여 기존의 커브와 비교하였으며, 각 지역에 대해 여름과 겨울의 강수량비를 각각 구하였다. 또한 등우량선도를 이용한 분석도 시도해 보았다. 이 연구에서 구

  • This study discusses the conceptual definition of a balcony and the emergence of basic-type and expansion-type floor plans according to the balcony utilization. In addition, the change in building density is analyzed with regard to real cases, and base data are offered for future urban policies in Incheon Metropolitan City. The context of the Building Acts could be understood through the analysis of various balcony definitions and characteristics, and the analysis was divided into basic and extension types according to the legalization that occurred in 2005. The issue of density according to balcony expansion is discussed through theories, and a planned attempt at density management in the target area is investigated. The building area, floor area, and floor area ratio are discussed with regard to the target area, and the density management is empirically proven, which is different from the Unit Plan.

Analysis of the riparian vegetation expansion in middle size rivers in Korea (중규모 하천에서의 식생 증가 현황에 대한 분석)

  • The expansion of riparian vegetation in middle size rivers in Korea had been analyzed in this study. Seom River with dam, Cheongmi River without dam, and Naesung River with no operating dam in the upstream was investigated for the 1 km to identify the expansion of riparian vegetation through the aerial photograph analysis. As a results, we found that the rate of vegetation area is 54.7% in Seom River, 77.5% in Cheongmi River, and 49.7% in Naesung River. The vegetation area had been increased in 3 rivers, and the expansion rate since 2010 is very high nearly up to 2 times (17 times in Naesung River). Sandbar and open-water area, however, have been decreased in the same rate with the riparian vegetation expansion. It could be concluded that vegetation increase trend is clear in rivers regardless of location and dam existence. Further researches are necessary to find out the causes to establish the countermeasures because the increase of vegetation will change the physical system as well as biological system of river.

An Area Efficient Network Interface Architecture (NoC에서 면적 효율적인 Network Interface 구조에 관한 연구)

  • NoC is adopted for data communication between processors and IPs in MPSoC system. NoC has an advantage of scalability in that system can be easily expanded just by adding switches. However, as the number of switches increases, chip area increases as well as data transfer latency. This paper proposes an architecture that can reduce the number of switches in the system by sharing network interfaces. To reduce NI area, the modules sharing network interface use a common buffer in network interface. Experimental results show that the chip area has been reduced by 46.5% and data transfer latency by 17.1%, respectively, compared to conventional architecture.

  • Urban expansion has caused environmental problems, traffic jam and real estate. Trend analysis of Urban expansion is needed for analysis and prediction of the existing problem-solving, urban planning and land use. In this study, We constructed database based on MOE(Minister of environment)'s landcover(1980's, 2000's), 1: 25,000 digital topographical map using of DEM and data of the National Statistical Office for urban and build up expand analysis of South Korea. As a result, The rate of increase in population of Gyeonggi-do, Incheon and Ulsan are high but Jeollanam-do is low. Area of development zone was 2.15 fold increase in comparison with before it. Slope aspect is south or east and urban expansion was increase in district such as Chungcheongnam-do, Gyeonggi-do, Jeollanam-do. Existing road of accessibility was high than development zone. Metropolitan city developre it. In conclusion, we found that South Korea urban expansion was developed from metropolitan city. In natural topographical conditions, the development was progress advantageous zone to disadvantageous zone. Also, we found that population was rapidly increase with new development as the center zone in urban expansion zone.

Multimedia Extension Instructions and Optimal Many-core Processor Architecture Exploration for Portable Ultrasonic Image Processing (휴대용 초음파 영상처리를 위한 멀티미디어 확장 명령어 및 최적의 매니코어 프로세서 구조 탐색)

  • This paper proposes design space exploration methodology of many-core processors including multimedia specific instructions to support high-performance and low power ultrasound imaging for portable devices. To explore the impact of multimedia instructions, we compare programs using multimedia instructions and baseline programs with a same many-core processor in terms of execution time, energy efficiency, and area efficiency. Experimental results using a $256{\times}256$ ultrasound image indicate that programs using multimedia instructions achieve 3.16 times of execution time, 8.13 times of energy efficiency, and 3.16 times of area efficiency over the baseline programs, respectively. Likewise, programs using multimedia instructions outperform the baseline programs using a $240{\times}320$ image (2.16 times of execution time, 4.04 times of energy efficiency, 2.16 times of area efficiency) as well as using a $240{\times}400$ image (2.25 times of execution time, 4.34 times of energy efficiency, 2.25 times of area efficiency). In addition, we explore optimal PE architecture of many-core processors including multimedia instructions by varying the number of PEs and memory size.

Small Epsilon Negative ZOR Antenna with Improved Bandwidth (확장된 대역폭을 갖는 소형 Epsilon Negative ZOR 안테나)

  • In this paper, small epsilon negative(ENG) zeroth-order resonance(ZOR) antenna with improved bandwidth is presented. To reduce the size of ENG ZOR antenna without narrowing bandwidth, large shunt inductance is introduced by adding patterns on patch and meandered via. The effective permittivity of meandered via is less dependent of frequency than that of straight via in same size. Thus, ENG ZOR antenna with meandered via has broader bandwidth. As a result, the bandwidth of ENG ZOR antenna with meandered via is 1.38 times as broad as that of spiral ENG ZOR antenna with straight via. On the other hand, the area of ENG ZOR antenna is reduced by 64 % compared with that of conventional mushroom ZOR antenna.

Enlargement of Harbour limit and Anchorages according to the development of New Ulsan Port (울산 신항 개발에 따른 항계 및 정박지 확장에 관한 연구)

  • Ulsan Port is the biggest base port for liquid cargoes in Korea and is pushing in earnest for the development of the 'Ulsan New Port' and 'Northeast Asia Oil-Hub' to prepare for continuous shipment growth. However, Ulsan is in the situation which the harbour limit and anchorages are narrower than other trading ports and the occurrence probability of marine accidents is very high due to heavy marine traffic. We will find and suggest the plan to enlarge the harbour limit essentially needed to expand anchorages considering the geomorphological features of Ulsan and the volume of marine traffic in this research. For the enlargement of harbour limit needed to expand anchorages, the anchorage area needed for Ulsan New Port was calculated after the quantitative analysis of enlargement range through the mutual comparison of the area of harbour limit and anchorages with berths and the volume of marine traffic. The reasonable type of harbour limit, which is based on the survey by a group of experts, was also determined after the decision of the range of harbour limit to accommodate the relevant anchorages.

  • The purpose of this study is to improve Biotope Area Ratio(BAR) systems used in the various fields. Recently, there has been increasing demand in urban agriculture as well as more residents cultivating farms on a small scale. However, there are few measures in terms of architecture and urban planning to respond to this trend. In this sense, this research is effective as it can respond to these demands by using BAR systems. Yet, the environmental indexes are not enough since BAR systems only take account of vegetation. Therefore, this study proposes an alternative way that includes the capacity factor of the plant growth by expanding the existing BAR systems. Thus, the study analyzes the complementary possibility of BAR systems, including elements of daylight, planting interval, area and soil depth with existing BAR elements.

  • This study was aimed at assess environmental conservation functions by analyzing the change of land use areas in agricultural fields between 1999 and 2006, and comparing land surface temperature distribution between 1994 and 2006 in Yongin city. Land use maps of Yongin city were obtained from soil maps for 1999, Quickbird satellite images(less than 1 m) and parcel map for 2006. The land use area for Yongin city was in the order of forest > paddy field > upland > residence & building in 1999, and forest > residence & building > paddy field > upland in 2006. Decrease of paddy and upland fields reduced 34% and 41% of the capability of agricultural multifunctionality as to environment including flood control, groundwater recharge, and air cooling. Land surface temperature(LST) was derived from Landsat TM thermal infrared band acquired in September of 1994 and 2006 and classified into three grades. The results impplied that green vegetation in agricultural field and forest play an important role to reduce land surface temperature in warm season.
