Comparative Evaluation of Determination Methods of Vertical Eddy Viscosity for Computation of Wind-Induced Flows (풍성류 계산을 위한 연직 와점성계수 산정방법의 비교평가)

  • A 3-dimensional numerical model of wind-induced flows has been established. and comparative evaluation of determination methods of vertical eddy viscosity has been performed. The model uses turbulence models to calculate vertical eddy viscosity. The examined methods arp 0-equation model of functional form, 1-equation model of turbulence kinetic energy, and two 2-equation models ($textsc{k}$-$\varepsilon$ and $textsc{k}$-ι models). The evaluation includes the verification tests against experimental data for wind-driven current On a closed one-dimensional channel and a recirculating one-dimensional channel. Comparative study of turbulence models has shown that the proper distribution of turbulence scale is parabolic and the eddy viscosity is depending strongly on mixing depth due to wind.

  • A diffusion model of radioactive gaseous effluents is improved to apply for domestic nuclear power plants. Up to now, XOQDOQ computer code package developed by U. S NRC has been used for the assessment of radioactive plume dispersion by normal operation of domestic nuclear power plants. XOQDOQ adopts the straight-line Gaussian plume model which was basically derived for the plane terrain. However, since there are so many mountains in Korea, the several shortcomings of XOQDOQ are improved to consider the complex terrain effects. In this work, wind direction change is considered by modifying the wind rose frequency using meteorological data of the local weather stations. In addition, an effective height correction model, a plume reduction model due to plume penetration into mountain, and a wet deposition model are adopted for more realistic assessments. The proposed methodology is implemented in Yongkwang nuclear power plants, and can be used for other domestic nuclear power plants.

  • The effect of spreading gain control on the throughput of a CDMA slotted ALOHA system is considered. Mobile users transmit packets over a shared channel, and the packets transmitted in the same time slot over the shared channel act as simultaneous access interference (SAI). When using spread-spectrum signal, a CDMA slotted ALOHA channel achieves high probability of capture due to the property of high title resolution, and the bit rate of user information is determined by spreading gain. When the SAI level gets larger, the high value of spreading gain enhances the packet throughput by increasing the probability of a successful packet transmission, while it degrades the of the effective throughput by reducing the user information bits carried within a packer. To solve the problem, we investigated the effect of the capture probability and the SAI level on these system throughputs, and evaluated the throughput performance of the system for each spreading gain control scheme. The results showed that the maximum effective throughput could be achieved with an unified method despite the variation of the SAI level by deriving an optimal value of the spreading gain according to 171e system states.

  • It has known that the DCMP(Directionally Constrained Minimization of power)and the ZF(Zero Forcing) can improve the SINR performance of an array antenna system by using spatial signature of wireless channel. This paper analyzes performance of DCMP and ZF in multiple scattering environments. To obtain the spatial signature of wireless channel. bothe DOA(Directional of Arrival) and AS(Angular Spread) of the received signals were estimated by using ESPRIT. The performance of the DCMP and the ZF was analyzed theoretically. Through computer simulation, the SINR performance were evaluated.

Temperature Effect on Effective Diffusion Coefficients of Zn and Cd through Column Diffusion Tests (칼럼 확산 실험을 통한 아연 및 카드뮴의 유효확산계수에 미치는 온도영향)

  • In this study, column diffusion tests for Cd and Zn were conducted at $15^{\circ}C$ and $55^{\circ}C$ to investigate a temperature effect on effective diffusion coefficient. An increase in temperature from $15^{\circ}C$ to $55^{\circ}C$ caused up to ten times larger diffusion coefficient for each heavy metal. Besides, it caused the increased retardation of heavy metals, and hence the effective diffusion coefficient should be overestimated as we use an overestimated retardation factor to calibrate the coefficient. The results of sequential extraction analyses showed that Zn was occluded in carbonate phase and this trend was getting prominent with the increase in temperature. As for Cd, it was partitioned mainly in the exchangeable phase(over 60%) at any temperature.

  • 인터넷 이용 확산에 따라 학교 현장에서 교과의 특성이나 상황에 따라 학생들이 작성한 과제물을 홈페이지 자료실, E-mail, FTP 등을 이용하여 제출 받고 평가하는 사례가 늘어나고 있다. 이는 과제물의 공개, 과제물 수용 용량의 부족 현상, 평가에 따르는 불편함, 과제물을 또 다른 정보로 재활용 할 수 없는 문제 등을 발생시킨다. 본 논문에서는 XML에 기반을 둔 문제은행형 과제 제출 시스템을 설계함으로써 학생들의 학습 성취도를 향상시키고, 교사의 과제물 평가의 불편함을 해소하며, 제출된 과제물들을 유용한 정보로 재사용 하는 방법을 제시한다.

  • This paper proposes the generation of several classes of frequency hopping patterns. which are derived by permutation, for an asynchronous frequency hopping spread spectrum multiple accecss system (FH/SSMA). The first class of hopping patterns is obtained by using a Latin square. The second class of hopping patterns is derived by generalizing the first class which is designed by using a permutation technique. The third class of hopping patterns is designed by using a rotational base of elements. We evaluate the hit property of the proposed classes of hopping patterns when these patterns are nutually shifted in an FH/SSMA system. Compared to the Reed Slolmon sequences generated by the conventional method, the sequence obtained by the permutation technique can reduce the number of hits among hopping frequencies in asynchronous time/frequency shift.

A Study on the Oceanic Diffusion of Liquid Radioactive Effluents based on the Statistical Method (통계적 방법을 이용한 방사성 물질의 해양 확산 평가)

  • A diffusion model of radioactive liquid effluents is developed and applied for YGN NPP's site, based on the Gaussian plume type model. Due to the complexity of oceanic diffusion characteristics of YGN site, a simple and reliable statistical model based on Reg. Guide 1.113 is developed. Also, a computer code package to calculate dilution factors as a function of plant operation conditions and pathway of radioactive materials. A liquid effluents diffusion model is developed by dividing the diffusion range into two categories, i. e, a near field mixing region and a far field mixing region. In the near field, the initial mixing is affected by a buoyance force, a high initial turbulence and momentum which is characterized by a plant operation condition and environmental conditions. The far field mixing is similar to gaseous effluents diffusion. So, beyond the near field region, wellknown Gaussian plume model was adopted. A different area averages of Gaussian plume equation was taken for each radioactive exposure pathway. As a result, we can get different dilution factors for different pathways. Results shows that present dilution factors used for YGN ODCM is too much overestimated compared with dilution factors calculated with the developed model.

  • 반도체 공정에서 일반적으로 오염입자를 측정하는 방법은 테스트 웨이퍼를 ex-situ 방식인 surface scanner를 이용하여 분석하는 particle per wafer pass (PWP) 방식이 주를 이루고 있다. 이러한 오염입자는 반도체 수율에 결정적인 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있으며 반도체 선폭이 작아지면서 제어해야하는 오염입자의 크기도 작아지고 있다. 하지만, 현재 사용하는 PWP 방식은 실시간 분석이 불가능하기 때문에 즉각적인 대처가 불가능 하고 이는 수율향상에 도움이 되지 못하는 후처리 방식이다. 따라서 저압에서 오염입자를 실시간으로 측정할 수 있는 장비에 대한 요구가 늘어나고 있는 실정이다. 저압에서 나노입자를 측정할 수 있는 장비로 PBMS가 있다. PBMS는 electron gun을 이용하여 입자를 하전시킨 후 편향판을 이용하여 크기를 분류하고 Faraday cup으로 측정된 전류를 환산하여 입자의 농도를 측정하는 장비이다. 편향판에 의하여 Faraday cup으로 이동되는 입자들은 농도 차에 의한 확산현상이 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 Faraday cup 이동 시 발생하는 확산현상을 여러 크기의 Faraday cup과 polystyrene latex (PSL) 표준입자를 이용하여 분석하였다. Faraday cup을 고정 식이 아닌 이동 식으로 설계를 하여 축의 원점을 기준으로 이동시켜 가면서 입자 전류량을 측정하였으며, 이를 기준 (reference) Faraday cup의 측정량과 비교하여 효율을 계산하였다. PSL 표준 입자 100, 200 nm 크기에 대하여 cup의 크기를 바꿔 가면서 각각 평가 하였다. 그 결과 입자의 크기가 작을 수록 더 넓은 구간으로 확산되었고 크기가 작은 Faraday cup의 경우에 정밀한 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통하여 편향판을 지나면서 발생하는 입자의 확산현상에 대한 정량적 평가를 수행할 수 있었으며, 추후 PBMS 설계 시 Faraday cup 크기를 결정하고 Faraday cup array 기술을 적용하는데 유용하게 활용 될 수 있을 것으로 기대 된다.

Permeability Characteristics of Geosynthetics Vertical Barrier Connections for the Prevention of Contaminants Diffusion (오염물질 확산방지를 위한 토목섬유 연직차수벽 연결부의 투수성능 평가)

  • Purpose: In this study, we used hydrophilic waterstop used in geosynthetics vertical barrier system to evaluate the performance of impermeability under sealing conditions. Method: ASTM D5887 and ASTM D6766 were applied to determine the capability of the connection during the geosynthetics vertical barrier system. Hydrophilic waterstop was saturated in each solution and the weight, thickness, and volume changes were analyzed over elapsed time. Hydrophilic waterstop was installed at the geosynthetics vertical barrier system connection to evaluate the permeability characteristics. Results: As the expansion reaction time of hydrophilic waterstop increased relatively under saline conditions, the decrease in permeability also showed a smaller decrease in fresh water. Furthermore, the method of engagement of the geosynthetics vertical barrier system showed somewhat better performance of the impermeability due to the large pressure resistance caused by the roll joint type than interlock type. Conclusion: In urban pollutants, which can estimate the outflow of pollutants such as oil storage facilities and industrial complexes, proactive response technologies that can prevent the contaminant diffusion can significantly reduce the damage.
