Study on the Fenton Reaction Condition for Evaluation of Chemical Durability of PEMFC Membrane (PEMFC 고분자막의 화학적 내구성 평가를 위한 Fenton 반응 조건에 관한 연구)

  • The Fenton reaction is often used to evaluate the chemical durability of polymer membranes of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFC). However, due to the violent reaction between hydrogen peroxide and iron ions, it is difficult to compare experimental data because of low reproducibility. In this study, we tried to find the reaction conditions to improve the reproducibility of the durability test of the membrane by the Fenton reaction. The hydrogen peroxide concentration was fixed at 30%, the iron ion concentration, temperature, stirring speed, and sample size were varied, and the fluorine ion concentration of the Nafion polymer membrane deteriorated by radicals was measured. When the iron ion concentration was increased or the membrane sample size was increased, and the reaction temperature was increased to 80 ℃, the experimental deviation increased, so an iron ion concentration of 10 ppm, a temperature of 70 ℃, and a sample size of 0.5 ㎠ were suitable.

An Analysis and Improvement of the Experiments for Comparing Properties of a Mixture with a Compound of Iron and Sulfur in the Middle School Science Textbooks (중학교 과학 교과서에 제시된 철과 황의 혼합물과 화합물 성질 비교 실험의 분석 및 개선)

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze problems in the experiments for comparing properties of a mixture with a compound of iron and sulfur and then to suggest the improved experiments. For this study, the experimental methods in 9th science textbooks described were analyzed and middle school science teachers were asked to conduct the experiment according to the process of the textbook and to point problems of the experiment. Two alternative experiments, which improves the problems of the toxic and provocative experiment and of distinction between a mixture and a compound by magnetic properties, were proposed. The two experiments were applied to the 10 science teachers and 60 students from a “S” middle school. They responded that the experiments were suitable for comparing properties of a mixture and a compound and helpful to understand the concept.

  • 미상원 군사위원회는 87년 3월 25일 국방성의 베커원자력 담당차관보가 3월 23일 동위원회 전략.핵시스템 소위원회에서 증언한 의사록을 발표했다. 그것에 의하면 미국이 현재 개발.생산을 추진하고 있는 화학무기는 3종류가 있는데 FY 1991년까지 이를 모두 생산쳬제에 들어갈 계획을 분명히 하고 있다. 신형화학무기로는 155mm 포탄, Big Eye 폭탄, 다연장로케트탄의 세가지로 155mm 포탄은 현재 생산중이고, Nig Eye 는 실험중이며, 로케트탄은 개발중이라 한다. 화학무기근대화계획중 가장 중점이 두어진 것은 Big Eye 폭탄으로 소련군의 NATO 군에 대한 화학무리공격에 가장 효과적인 억지력이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다고 한다.

  • 새로운 에너지원으로서의 가스 하이드레이트 개발 연구는 한국에서는 2005년 산업자원부에 의해 가스하이드레이트 개발 연구 사업이 정식으로 출범하면서 활발히 진행되기 시작하였다. 2007년도에 종료된 1단계 연구를 통하여 동해에서 가스 하이드레이트 부존이 확인됨에 따라 2단계에서 부터는 가스하이드레이트 생산 연구가 연구의 중심으로 떠오르게 되었다. 생산 연구는 물성/생산 실험 연구, 전산모사 연구, 해외 현장 시험 생산 연구로 크게 나뉘어 질 수 있는데 현재 한국에서는 물성/생산 실험 연구가 가장 활발히 진행되어 왔다. 이에 따라 보다 체계적이고 계획적인 연구를 위하여 기 실험된 연구를 종합 분석하여 체계적인 실험 결과의 활용과 향후 연구 계획을 하고자 한다. 본 발표에서는 기 실행된 실험 연구를 수행기관, 시료의 크기, 경계조건 등의 실험 규모, 시료의 종류, 하이드레이트 형성 조건, 측정 물성, 채택 생산 기법 등의 실험 내용 등을 종합하여 소개하고자 한다. 1단계에서는 주로 실험실 스케일, 인공 모래 시료, 인공 가스하이드레이트를 이용한 실험연구가 주를 이루었으며 이를 보완하기 위하여 2단계에서는 중규모, 자연시료, 자연 하이드레이트를 이용한 실험연구가 시작되었다. 초기 단계에서 생산 기법으로 감압법, 열수 주입법, 열자극 법, 화학 억제제 주입법, 치환 생상법 등이 연구되었으며 그 결과 감압법을 주 생산 기법으로 하여 열수 주입법, 열자극법, 화학 억제제 주입법 등을 하이드레이트 재생성 억제기법으로 혼합하여 쓰는 하이브리드 기법들이 연구 되었으며 현재 세계적인 수준의 실험 연구 기술 수준을 보유 하고 있는 치환 생산법 연구가 또한 현재까지 활발히 진행되고 있다.

A new analysis on the bleaching mechanism and the catalysis of exposure in holographic diffraction grating fabricated with silver salt (은염 홀로그래픽 회절격자의 제작에서 표백과 노광량의 촉매작용에 관한 새로운 해석)

  • In this paper, the chemical process of each step in fabricating the holographic phase diffraction grating with silver salt sensitive materials has been studied in detail. A new analysis of the bleaching methods have been made through the study. The result shows that among the types of bleaching methods, the reversal bleach can not be reacted chemically. And the experiments about the chemical reactions, the characteristics of the reaction products and the refractive modulation types by the bleaching methods have been done to prove the theory. It is investigated that the exposure acts as the catalyst of developing reaction and affects the developing reaction time conspicuously. At the optimum developing reaction times, which could be taken from the experiments, the holographic diffraction gratings with high diffraction efficiency over 70% could be obtained in the range of the exposure quantity 50~350 [$\mu$J/ $\textrm{cm}^2$]. From the experiments about the correlation of the chemical processing conditions of the composition of developers, the exposure, and the developing reaction time, it has proved that the enhancement of the diffraction efficiency is impossible in the limited exposure energy and conventional constant chemical reaction time.

An Analysis of the Authentic Inquiry Components in Science Inquiry Experiments Textbooks Developed Under the 2015 Revised National Curriculum (2015 개정 교육과정에 따른 과학탐구실험 교과서에 나타난 참탐구 요소 분석)

  • In this study, we investigated the characteristics of the authentic inquiry components in the inquiry tasks of Science Inquiry Experiments textbooks developed under the 2015 Revised National Curriculum. After classifying inquiry tasks by core concepts, we analyzed the cases that students autonomously planned or performed the authentic inquiry components. The results of the study revealed that investigating multiple materials component most frequently appeared in all units. However, generating research question, selecting variables, observing multiple variables and transforming observations components appeared in a few tasks of history and everyday science units as they were often guided or structured in textbooks. Controlling simple or complex variables, observing intervening variables and considering methodological flaws components rarely appeared in all units as most of textbooks did not consider or indicate explicitly. Authentic inquiry components of everyday science unit tended to be handled in small group activities. On the bases of the results, the implications for the development of the inquiry tasks of Science Inquiry Experiments textbooks are discussed.

  • A hybrid electrochemical capacitor having both characteristics of electric double layer capacitance and pseudo-capacitance was studied throughout cell tests. Asymmetric electrodes with $Ni(OH)_2/activated$ carbon based positive electrode and activated carbon based negative electrode were used in preparing test cells of $5\times5cm^2$. Cyclic voltammetry measurements and impedance measurements were conducted to understand electrochemical behavior of each electrode. To find an optimal mass ratio of negative to positive electrode, charge-discharge cycle tests were also performed.

The Solubility of Synthetic Schwertmannite (합성 슈워트마나이트의 용해도)

  • 투석을 이용한 투석법과 투석을 이용하지 않은 평형 실험을 통해 슈워트마나이트를 합성하였다. 이 합성실험 동안 일정시간 간격을 두고 합성 용액 시료와 합성괸 침전물 시료를 채취하였으며, 이러한 시료들에 대해 X-선 회절 분석(XRD), 시차열분석(DTA), 원자흡수분광분석(AA), 유도결합 플라즈마 원자방출분광분석(ICP-AES), 이온크로마토그래피(IC)분석 등을 실시하였다. 컴퓨터 프로그램 MINTEQA2를 이용하여 분석된 합성용액의 화학조성으로부터 침전물과 공존하는 용액 내 각 화학조성으로부터 침전물과 공존하는 용액 내 각 화학종의 분포와 활동도를 계산하였다. 연구 결과 투석법을 이용하여 합성을 하면 비평형 상태를 유지하게 되므로 순수한 슈워트마나이트의 용해도를 얻고자 할 때는 투석을 이용하지 않은 합성법을 수행하여야 하는 것이 밝혀졌다. 투석을 이용하지 않은 합성 실험 결과 슈워트마나이트 침전후 72시간이 경과한 후에 평형상태에 도달함이 확인되었다. 평형상태일 때 순수하게 합성된 슈워트마나이트의 용해도 상수 pKs는 $-6.11\pm$1.16의 값을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 순사한 슈원트마나이트의 분석된 화학조성으로 계산된 화학식은 $Fe_{8}$ /O sub 8/ (OH)$_{4.16}$ ($SO_4$)$_{1.92}$ .$6.74H_2$O, $Fe_{8}$ /O$_{8}$ (OH)$_{4.18}$ ($SO_4$)$_{ 1.91}$.$6.89H_2$O이다.

Analysis of Contents related to Models in the Chemistry Textbooks of the 2009 & 2015 Revised Curricula: Focusing on the Electrolysis of Aqueous Solutions (2009 및 2015 개정 교육과정의 화학 교과서에서 모델 관련 내용 분석: 수용액 전기 분해를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the contents of chemistry textbooks developed according to the 2015 revised curriculum with the contents of the 2009 revised curriculum to research the change in "the development and use of models". To do this, we analyzed 8 kinds of Chemistry I textbooks and 6 kinds of Chemistry II textbooks from the 2015 revised curriculum and compared them with 4 kinds of Chemistry I textbooks and 4 kinds of Chemistry II textbooks from the 2009 revised curriculum. The scope of the analysis was the explanations of the textbooks related to aqueous electrolysis experiments. In order to compare the contents regarding electrolytes when the same experiments are interpreted with different models, we analyzed contents of 4 kinds of middle school science textbooks from the 2015 revised curriculum and 9 kinds of middle school science textbooks from the 2009 revised curriculum. As a result of the analysis, the same experiment was explained by different models according to the grade level and unit, and all explanations were limited to a single model. Also, the tendency to limit the kinds of electrolytes for controlled experimental results is more pronounced in the 2015 revised curriculum than in the 2009 revised curriculum. From this results, we suggest that efforts are needed to reflect the "development and use of models" in chemistry textbooks developed according to the 2015 revised curriculum.
